Just like the other rating topics, I feel like we should do the same for the runs where the artifact was reached, but not brought out of the temple. In other words, the team got the second prize, but not the third one. 10 = awesome and 1 = crap (although you probably knew this by now). Each run will be chosen at random. I’m giving “The Medal of Sir Edmund Hillary” a score of 7. It was either a 7 or 8 from me, but I leaned more towards 7. That’s mainly because of the fact that this was season one where the rooms were easier to complete and because of Tara’s exit at the end. If not for those factors, this run would’ve gotten a higher score. Still, I like this run. It was fun to watch.

I would say 7. If Tara would've taken the Bridge. It might've been a close win.

Sir Edmund Hillary gets an 8 from me. I for one thought the Silver Snakes did a fine job in the temple. They faced a lengthy layout and both Tara and Danny did a fine job taking into account all of the rooms they had to enter. Not to mention, Tara had to take the slow Well bucket too. Even though Tara took a bad exit out of the temple, it still would've been a very close win if she stayed at the top. Its not like Ron from "Anne Bonny" or Chris from "Lost Lariat" who had their win in the bag until they took a bad exit. Not many S1 runs are exciting, but this one is the exception.

I gave the "Medal of Sir Edmund Hillary" run an 8. For a Season 1 run, this path was unusually difficult and long. The Gargoyle Room/Troubled Bridge was a dead end with a temple guard, and the Shrine of the Silver Monkey only opened down to the bottom floor. I believe that hese two detours are what cost the team, not their performance in the temple. This team was fast and efficient throughout the whole run. And even if Tara stayed on the top floor upon exiting the temple, I don't know if she would have crossed the gate in time. She had 12 seconds to get through the Observatory, across the Troubled Bridge, through the Gargoyle Room, and down all of the stairs to the final gate.

I'm giving "The Broken Wing of Icarus" a 4. That layout was pretty easy, yet Jason somehow finds a way to still lose. If this layout was handed to Missing Weather Maps' Nick, this would've been an amazing win.
