I have updated the Production Day Rankings yet again. And coincidentally, both Montezuma and Magellan's filming day ended up with the exact same overall score. I thought for sure Magellan's day was gonna rank last. But instead, Xerxes' filming day still holds that last place spot. As for me, I'm definitely doing Lily Crested Crown next. After both Sultan Saladin and Lily Crested Crown are done, that is two more episode days completed. :mrsilver: We currently have 10 full production days finished right now. Including the tied for eighth place rankings I just updated. ;)

The only reason that the Lost Logbooks day does not rank any lower is thanks to Great Seal. That episode is a classic and one of the best episodes from Season 1. I honestly didn't mind when T90AAT played that one a second time. Which is pretty good, considering the episode ended in triple capture. Other than that though, the other episodes sucked. Lost Logbooks is crap, Amelia Earhart is crap, and Moccasins is average and overrated.

The Montezuma/Lost Lion Tail day is kind of lackluster too. I HATE Cosa Rara, Lost Lion Tail is cringeworthy, Sultan Suleiman was good up until the temple run, and Montezuma was slightly above average. It definitely looks like a weak day on paper, but Montezuma and Suleiman  save it from the other two bad episodes.

Sultan Saladin is going by next goal for sure. And that will complete S1L3, which had 5 episodes. And that production day should rank pretty good, but one episode is going to drag it down... a lot. This production day literally had the worst episode ranked so far.

I also claimed a few more episodes - Best solo win ever, Blue Pearl, Queen Nzinga, and Lion-Slashed Jacket. I am going to start working on those after Sultan Saladin. I think it will be Blue Pearl because for some reason I actually have a partial write-up for it.  :o

Yeah, because you claimed Blue Pearl back when you first started this topic. ;) How much of it do you have written up? If you have it written in the old format, AKA the way I write these reviews, maybe I can help with some of the writing. That's one thing we never did with these reviews, a joint write up. I don't know if you're up for that, but it would be interesting to do. Especially for episodes like Silk Ladder, John Sutter, etc. :azn:

As a matter of fact, it is similar to the old ones like Belle Boyd and Iron Mask. :P The old style included where I condensed all of the temple game write-ups into one section and not split it up by every individual game. Also, a lot of the rounds were very vague and didn't go into much detail. For example, the legend section doesn't even mention much of the legend. I would totally do a collaboration for a couple of these episodes. And believe me, I always had that thought on my mind. Plus, Blue Pearl is a good episode, so it will be interesting to do a joint one. :mrorange:

Good deal. :mrorange: Whatever you didn't write up, I could take all those parts. Of course, you can always rewrite some of your parts too. Are there anymore episodes you have half written? Those would be perfect collaborations too. As for an individual episode review, I'm definitely doing Lily Crested Crown next. I should have that up by tonight. I definitely don't expect it to rank any further than the 5 range. Not even the dancing Silver Snakes can save the episode for me. Like I always say, I was rooting for the Parrots in the temple games.

I could always send what I have for Blue Pearl and you can always add more to any of the sections. Some of the sections are shells though for that review like the legend. But that is the only section I believe is empty. I do have another review that is half complete for Queen Boadicea. I have not been able to finish that episode though because I forgot some parts of it, like the legend and have to go back and rewatch it. I always say that I am going to finish that one, but then I move onto another episode instead. I've have the same problems with Anne Bonny (only completed the moat) and Useless Map (only completed the moat and temple run). :P The most complete one for me though is Queen Boadicea, where I actually have the pictures ready for that episode. Those are ones I saved a long time ago on my computer. I must had did a frame by frame picture for that episode, because I have a ton of them. I just need to complete the legend and touch up on the temple games.  :mrred:

And Lily-Crested Crown was intolerable. I ranked that episode for THK's thread not too long ago. It was definitely a weak episode, and Poseidon is much better than that one. The dancing Silver Snakes were annoying, the temple games were boring, and the Orange Iguanas sucked. I would definitely take the Purple Parrots over Katie and Judge. I should have Sultan Saladin completed by tonight or tomorrow night.  :mrsilver:

Yeah, you can always PM me your half written Blue Pearl report. I can fill in all the stuff you haven't written yet. Other episodes like Queen Boadicea, Useless Map (which I have screencapped), and maybe Anne Bonny can be collaborations too. And if you have the screencaps for Queen Boadicea, you should use those too. I swear, with all the screencaps we have saved, we could start a photo gallery. :P Much like that really old photo gallery that was open a long time ago. I used to do that with screencaps too. Take frame by frame photos of each episode. And I'm talking as much as 200+ pictures per episode. :o But then I thought it was too much clutter, so I cleaned out the respective folders. In my most recent screencaps, I have just barely 200 pictures, which is still a lot, but not as much. Otherwise, you can share some of those pictures in the "Interesting pictures" thread. :mrpurple:

And I definitely look forward to your Sultan Saladin review. That was a pretty exciting episode. :mrsilver: It's even more made famous by that dub that was made a long time ago.

Lea/Vincent: "Kirk Fogg molested me!"
Steve/Phillip: "And I watched!"

And here it is, my review of "The Lily Crested Crown of Clovis the First." :mrorange:

THE LILY-CRESTED CROWN OF CLOVIS THE FIRST

MOAT: 6/10

For this moat, the teams must run across three floating icebergs. If they fell into the water, or touched the iceberg, they must go back and start again. While this moat was an immense improvement over the moat before them (Poseidon), the overall round was rather unexciting. Both Purple Parrot players and Judge of the Orange Iguanas got across the moat no problem. Katie on the other hand, struggled to get across the moat. She fell in the water a good couple of times. The Green Monkeys struggled to get across as well. At the end of the round, the Silver Snakes do this stupid, stupid dance for the camera. (See GIF below) Seriously, it was both attention seeking and ridiculous. One of the things that annoys me about the show is contestants who are clearly just there for 15 minutes of fame. This kind of thing seemed to happen a lot in Season 3. Either way, the Purple Parrots, Silver Snakes, Orange Iguanas, and Red Jaguars all advanced to the Steps of Knowledge in that order.

Silver Snakes dancing GIF:

LEGEND: 6/10

Credit goes to nicklegends for the picture

This legend centered around Clovis the First, who defeated the Romans and other tribes in the late 400's. This was no easy task for Clovis, as he and his army were pushed back to the Rhine river. A messenger was even sent out to state Clovis was trapped and was unable to escape. Minutes later, soldiers started to attack, panicking Clovis' army. Clovis bravely decided to cross the river, despite complaints from his army about fears of drowning. Clovis ignored them, and got across the river unscathed. The German's were so astonished that they ran away. Clovis knew that the only reason the water was so shallow was due to the lilies at the bottom. With that, Clovis changed his embroidery from toads to lilies. Eventually, the lily crested crown made its way to the temple. This legend was alright. It would've helped if we got more of a background story about Clovis the First. Instead of just some story about him and his army trying to get across a river. It just seemed like that was literally all the story was about. An army is coming, Clovis and his men cross a river, boom end of story. The legend wasn't very detailed, but it's better than most legends that don't have anything to do with the person behind the artifact. Or speak nothing of the artifact itself beforehand.

STEPS OF KNOWLEDGE: 6/10

The Steps of Knowledge was a pretty good round. The Purple Parrots were very smart on the steps, and finished first in a flash. The Red Jaguars and the Orange Iguanas were also pretty smart as well, and answered very few questions wrong. But it was the Orange Iguanas who eventually joined the Purple Parrots on the final step. The Silver Snakes got one question right in there, but I'm SO GLAD they didn't advance. Imagine what they would've been like in the later rounds. All in all, it was a decent round with not very many wrong answers.

TEMPLE GAMES: 5/10

The temple games were as unexciting as they could get. It did feature some close finishes and an okay set of games, but this round was just incredibly dull and uneventful. In the first game, Katie and Steve had to jump up to the ceiling and unfold a French flag. This game ended in a tie, even though Steven did unfold another flag right after time ran out. However, I believe that was an honest mistake and/or an accident, and NOT an attempt at cheating. Like some people like to claim. -_- Also, you can totally see the Lily Crested Crown chilling in the Quicksand Bog during this game too. In the second game, Judge and Erica had to jump on a series of trampolines, remove the frogs in their path, and display the new crest on top. Erica struggled immensely at this game. She had a lot of trouble jumping on the trampolines, though she wasn't NEARLY as bad as the Red Jaguar boy from the Bifocal Monocle episode. Judge on the other hand, had no trouble with this game, and got to the crest first with 14 seconds remaining. The Orange Iguanas were now leading the Purple Parrots 1-0.5 in the final game. In the third game, the teams had to knock down the Germanic soldiers, a frequently used Season 3 game. It was a pretty neck and neck game, where either team could've won. But at the end, both teams had only one soldier remaining, tying the game 1-1. But, the Orange Iguanas were slightly in the lead pendants wise, so they earned a trip to Olmec's temple, just barely edging out the Purple Parrots 2-1.5. The Purple Parrots were so close to winning the temple games, but only fell a half pendant short. Once again, my beloved Parrots have been defeated. :(

TEMPLE RUN: 3/10

This temple run was simply disastrous. Katie was doing an okay job, until she reached the Chamber of the Sacred Markers. After a temple guard took her pendant, she could not find that final marker on the wall to save her life. She even felt around the walls trying to look for it. By the time she did find it, she had eaten away so much time that victory was impossible at that point. She was removed from the temple in the Shrine with 50 seconds left on the clock. Judge had no prayer of making up for lost time. And he did NOT pay attention to Katie's path in the temple. You could even see the Chamber door opened after Katie finally completed the objective. But Judge failed to take that shortcut. By the time he did get to where Katie had left off, he couldn't even assemble the monkey when time ran out. Pitiful, Katie screwed up big time in the Chamber, which is precisely why this team lost. Plus, Judge was exactly the brightest contestant himself.

FINAL VERDICT: 5.2/10

Clovis the First was easily one of the most boring, mundane, lackluster episodes ever. The moat featured some irksome contestants, the temple games were uninspiring, and the temple run was terrible. The Purple Parrots were so dominant pre temple, by being first in the moat and steps, only to fall short in the temple games. All while the Orange Iguanas barely scraped by each round, and performed horribly in the temple. This team just didn't deserve to go to the temple at all. It was one of those episodes where I always wonder how much better the Purple Parrots would've done. They wouldn't have gotten stuck in the Chamber. I've said it once, and I'll say it again: I was rooting for the Parrots in the temple games. :( Overall, this episode is the walking poster child for "filler," and I don't recommend this episode to anyone. You're better off skipping it.

"Clovis I" was one of those Legends episodes that everyone wanted to see back during the Nick GaS days. I remember TMH even wondering whether this was an actual episode or not. It was a pretty boring episode though, but I never expected it to get around the same score as "War Fan". But then again, most of the roundswere decent minus the temple run. The moat was a cool idea, although not as fast and exciting as the "Mussel-Shell Armor" one. The Silver Snakes dance were ridiculous though. They were even doing that stupid dance during the Steps of Knowledge. I think Kirk was even getting a little annoyed by them. I mean you can only do something for so long before it gets old. And I DEFINITELY glad these two didn't advance further either.

The legend was pretty interesting. I don't remember any lame one-liners or puns in it. The artifact name is pretty cool too, even though the Crown looks like one of those paper crowns from Burger King. :P I've always remembered the lily part of the legend at least. The temple games were okay in this episode, and it ended with a rare 2-1.5 score. The first temple game performance was better than the exact same game in "Poseidon" where the Green Monkeys girl sucked at jumping up and grabbing the lightning bolts. The second game is memorable for the frogs that the players had to get rid of. The third one was one of my all time favorite games on the show. In the end, the final score was 2-1.5. I am surprised this show never had a 2-2 tiebreaker at all. Now that would've been neat to see. Of course, the Orange Iguanas beat the Purple Parrots like they always do.

The temple run was a pretty big disaster though. Neither Katie or Jared were good players. Although Katie did start out pretty good in the temple. When she hit the Chamber though, she screwed up pretty bad. I mean a 1:00+ plus in that room? I know the Chamber was time consuming, but you should NEVER spend a minute in a room unless it was a production error (like in Belshazzar). So Katie blew this run when she spent 1/3 of her time in this room. It didn't matter anyways, because she was removed from the Shrine with very little time. Judge was pretty pathetic too. He got lost while following Katie's path. And he couldn't get his Silver Monkey assembled at all either, even after Katie assembled part of it. Even Jennifer from "Madame Tussaud" got her Silver Monkey almost done, and she had less time than Judge. This was a very pathetic temple run and I would've loved to see the Purple Parrots over the Orange Iguanas in the temple. :? This path was also identical to "Gwalior", so Katie and Judge have no excuse for their pathetic progress.

Overall, this was a boring and bland episode. It was not worth the wait back during the Nick GaS days either. It is as filler as it gets. But then again, I was surprised by the episode breaking a 5 score. It definitely was interesting though for the earlier rounds. Other than that, I would not recommend this episode either. Most likely, nobody will know that this episode exists because there is nothing to talk about. :P

Good job with the review and completing an episode that is utterly forgettable and uneventful. Also, with this episode done, we only have 25 episodes left to cover.  :mrorange: "Sultan Saladin" should be ready for posting tomorrow too. ;) After Sultan Saladin is done, we will have 8 episodes left for each season. I will start working on the ones that I have still left claimed too.

I think I am going to save "Map to the Lost Gold Mine" as our final episode review too. Just because that is easily the best episode left needing review and an interesting way to close out this thread. ;)  :mrblue:

Time for some more "interesting statistics", and this time it is for the temple rooms of the temple. Judge, NOT Jared. ;)

And yeah, Clovis the First is a really forgettable episode. I totally remember TMH asking in the Daily Episode Log "Has ANYONE seen this episode?" Hell I remember you sent him the encode for the temple run too. Just like you sent him episodes like Magellan, Belle Boyd, Stone Marker, etc. As for my final score, maybe giving it over a 5 was too generous. The Steps of Knowledge (which got the highest score) wasn't even that exciting of a round. Especially since the Silver Snakes were STILL doing their attention starved jigs, yet hardly answer any questions. Everything else is scored pretty accurately, especially the temple run. I guess just the temple run was bad? And good call claiming John Sutter for last. That would be a great way to close out everything. And you still never got back to me about collaborating with Blue Pearl. Do you still have the copy of the write you did manage to do? If so, you can PM it to me, or post it in this thread if that works for you. ;)

And neat looking list regarding the rooms too. Is that gonna go in the OP as well, if you haven't already done that yet?

EDIT: I changed the ranking for Lily Crested Crown. It went from 5.4 to 5.2, which ranks around the same as Geronimo and Golden Ship. I hope that's more accurate. And the production day rankings have been changed yet again. You should see how Crested Crown/Apanuugpak's day ranks. If it wasn't for Lily Crested Crown, it probably would've taken first place. :o

Some of those very episodes you mentioned (Belle Boyd, Stone Marker, and William Tell) I have the frame-by-frame pictures for because I had a video recording device that took the pictures for those episodes. Other episodes I have are Snow Cone, Queen Boadicea, Alhambra, Stone Head, Cracked Crown, Imperial Wizard, Lawrence of Arabia, Pirate Captain, Freydis, and Anne Bonny I have screencaps for. I know I have some others too like Shaka Zulu, but I have not found them yet.

But I thought your Lily-Crested Crown score was pretty good too the first time. ;) If it wasn't for the temple run, then it would've ranked closer to the 6 range. It was probably the most Orange Iguana filler episode in S3. But at least most of the earlier rounds were good and didn't suck like Snow Cone or William Tell. And I think the Silver Snakes demotivational poster would be a great touch to your review. ;) I added the gif of Jammin' John and Jennifer's high five fail in the Steps for the same reason. To make it more interesting.  :mrsilver:

Also, I will most likely PM you Blue Pearl right after I post Sultan Saladin later tonight.  :mrorange:  :mrsilver:

I just use VLC media player to screencap episodes. I snag the episodes from YouTube, keepvid them, and then open up the file and screencap. I remember you used to encode quite a bit back in the day. That's how TMH got the last bit of his temple runs, from you. ;) Like I said before, with all the screencaps we've got, we could start a photo gallery. :P It would be the first one opened up since that long lost gallery from long ago. And yeah, I probably will include the demotivational poster in my review, though it might need some re sizing. Since I included the GIF of the Silver Snakes dancing, it would only be fair if I included the poster along with it. :mrsilver:

And good deal. :mrorange: If you have anymore half written reviews, you can send those too. But, one step at a time of course.

Blue Pearl and Queen Boadicea are probably the closest to being complete. And I think Blue Pearl will probably be more easier for you too since you have the episode pictures already ready. I am curious, didn't you say that you have Silk Sash screencapped? If you do, maybe we can work on that one together too? I know it is weird choice of an episode to collaborate on, but I just find that episode very intolerable.

Missing Eye is another interesting one that is unclaimed too. That is probably an episode that will get a good score because I remember all of the rounds being good in that. I will finish Sultan Saladin first and give your Blue Pearl.  :mrsilver:  :mrorange:
