Sir Gawain didn't have a tiebreaker. ;)  Butch Cassidy was the other Orange/Purple episode that had one.

Yeah, you might want to fix that. ;)

Anyways, I hate the Enormous Feather episode. The team barely scraped by and Karisa was just retarded. Though the legend was interesting, and it did share the exact same temple games as "The Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain." Other than that, this team just didn't deserve to go to the temple. Should've been the Purple Parrots. They wouldn't have stood there like idiots in the Quicksand Bog.

Oops, fixed the Sir Gawain/Enormous Feather mistake.

I hate this episode too. I think this is my most hated Orange Iguana episode. Okay, Bifocal Monocle sucked too. But it was a suckfest anyways so I don't count that one. But Enormous Feather was just cringeworthy due to Karisa. Which is too bad, because it was a crappy ending to a good day with Roland, Queen Boadicea, and Pirate Captain. TMH was right about Karisa being one of the most retarded girls of the first season.

But Enormous Feather was in the third season!

EDIT: And you changed the wrong episode. Butch Cassidy and Nostradamus are the other Purple/Orange episodes with tiebreakers.

Man, you're on a roll tonight, aren't you TRJ? Geez.

The Orange/Purple victories with tiebreakers were Butch Cassidy and Nostradamus, bot NOT Sir Gawain. You still need to fix that. ;)

Thanks guys, I don't pay much attention to my posts sometimes and get carried away.   I think I said Sir Gawain because I was thinking of Orange/Purple losing where Orange wins in the temple in that episode. Which also happened in Butch Cassidy and Nostradamus too. But Butch Cassidy and Nostradamus were also tiebreaker wins too. Pretty lame 3/4 of the Orange Iguana wins came from one temple game combination.

Yeah, the only non Purple victory the Iguanas had was in Atocha, when they beat Red. And even THAT came down to a tiebreaker. So I guess in a way, the Purple Parrots are a valuable resource to the Orange Iguanas, since they gave the Iguanas 3/4 of their wins. As for me, I'm gonna do "The Melted Head of Madame Tussaud" next. What a coincidence, another Orange/Purple episode. But, I'm looking forward to reviewing it, since it is a pretty interesting episode. Plus, I have this episode screencapped with the Nickelodeon logo on it. So the illustrations will look extra neat. ;)

PS, Karisa's horse teeth really scare me. Just sayin'.

Madame Tussaud is actually one of the better Orange/Purple episodes. It's one of the few I actually like next to Sir Gawain and Nostradamus. I think you will definitely enjoy reviewing it. Nick GaS liked to show this one a lot, so I know a lot of details about this episode. The artifact was definitely bazaar, but the legend was interesting. I think we know the stand out moment in the temple games though. :P The temple run is annoying to watch though, but that is because of Nick's incompetence. Jennifer definitely gets a bad reputation and this would've been a better temple run if she went into the temple first.

I will probably do Shiva for my next one. I am interested in seeing how low this episode ranks.

Here it is, my review of "The Melted Head of Madame Tussaud." :mrorange:

THE MELTED HEAD OF MADAME TUSSAUD

MOAT: 6/10

For this moat, the players had to stand on a bunch of green lily pads, and pull themselves across using the vines in front of them. If they fell into the water or let their knees touch the lily pads, they had to start all over again. This was an okay round, the only team that truly struggled was the Purple Parrots, who rang in 4th in the moat. The Orange Iguanas, the Green Monkeys, and the Red Jaguars were the first three teams to cross.

LEGEND: 7/10

This legend was about Marie Tussaud, who was imprisoned and forced to create sculptures of frenchmen. While working on a sculpture of Napoleon Bonaparte, she plotted her escape. As soon as she was finished, she put the bust over her head and was on her way. Unfortunately, the wax on the sculpture started to melt due to the sun. The driver was concerned and asked in Tussaud was okay, but she insisted she was fine and hopped off the taxi. She eventually made her way to England and opened up a new Waxed Museum, and the melted head eventually made its way to the temple. I happened to like this legend, and it was pretty funny how Tussaud got away with passing as a waxed head.

STEPS OF KNOWLEDGE: 7/10

The Steps of Knowledge were a very close round. It was like any team could've gone to the temple games. Both Jennifer and Nicholas were very smart during the steps and answered most of their answers in unison. The Purple Parrots eventually joined them on the final step, where their final answer was a humorous "He wanted a.... I forget what it was called.... face." Kind of like the "Tudors or whatever" answer in Golden Ship.

TEMPLE GAMES: 8/10

The temple games were an excellent match. In the first game, Jennifer and Brian had to push boulders to knock down the Bastille towers. Jennifer won this game, and she beat a guy too. That's pretty impressive. In the second game, Nicholas and Brook had to push around a giant "taxi" wheel, grab a ticket, then deposit it on the ship. Neither player struggled that much, but Brook of the Purple Parrots ended up winning the game over Brian. Who had a missing nametag after the temple game ended. In the third game, the teams had to run out, grab a waxed head, and put it in their bin while avoiding the swinging obstacles. Jennifer gets pwned and hit in the face with one of the boulders, but recovers quickly and ends up winning the game for the Iguanas. Though the final waxed head bounced right out of the bin, since Jennifer threw it in there too roughly. Should it still count, or should a tiebreaker have been forced? Either way, since this is Orange and Purple we're talking about, the Orange Iguanas were gonna win anyways since the Purple Parrots have never defeated the Orange Iguanas.

TEMPLE RUN: 5/10

This is yet another temple run where a shot at victory is ruined due to detouring up the central shaft. This layout was a lot like "The Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain," only this time the King's Storeroom was accessible. Nicholas was completely to blame for why this was a loss. He was too slow, hesitant, and had no idea what he was doing. It took him 2:20 just to make it to his sixth room, where he was removed in the Room of the Ancient Warriors. Jennifer is very unpopular around here due to her shouting, and I don't understand why. She was right to be hard of Nicholas. He was taking his sweet time traversing the central shaft, and three minutes is not enough time to mosey through the temple at a leisurely pace. I happened to think Jennifer pulled her weight just fine, and she did her best making up for lost time in 40 seconds. Victory was impossible by the time she entered the temple, you can't expect her to reach the artifact and WIN in that short of time. Furthermore, she made it one room ahead of Nicholas and almost assembled the monkey. She's not the terrible person she's made out to be and she is NOT comparable to Dana and Lauren at all. I think people need to give Jennifer a break. If Brian from Bent Shaving Pan gets a free pass for being in the same shoes, so should Jennifer. This loss is 100% on Nicholas.

FINAL VERDICT: 6.6/10

Very underrated episode. If you look past Jennifer's shouting in the temple run, it's actually very exciting and every round was close. Definitely worth a rewatch to me. Jennifer gets way too much of a bad rap here, and I don't think her shouting was mal intended at all. She was just overexcited and simply cheering Nicholas on. There's a difference between shouting words of encouragement, and words of frustration. Dana and Lauren were in the latter category, and contributed nothing to their temple runs. Jennifer is not a bad player or a bad person at all. I definitely recommend this episode, unless you're sick of seeing it since this was one of the episodes from the 20 episode cycle in late 2006.

Good score, I liked "Madame Tussaud" a lot. There was hardly anything bad about this episode. The legend and artifact were definitely bizarre though. How did Madame Tussaud get away with escaping while wearing a wax head? Were people not very bright back then? nd then the whole face melting part and the taxi driver still not getting that the head was made of wax. The Steps of Knowledge was pretty close too, and I thought the Red Jaguars would've pulled it off. Brook of the Purple Parrots sounded shy. They got a lucky break on that last question, but S3 was lenient with most answers anyways.

The temple games were a classic too. Even though they overused the boulder swinging temple game way too much during that day (I think the other 3 episodes used this one), they were still good. Of course, Jennifer taking a face dive with her boulder is a classic in the series.   TMH/RP even had a video of some GIF dedicated to this. Like usual, the Orange Iguanas beat the Purple Parrots.

And the temple run is very annoying. But that is mostly due to Nick's hesitations. He must've spent 10 seconds on every single vine in the Tomb of the Headless Kings and couldn't decide what armor to use. Plus, he moved way too slow. I know the central shaft was tricky in S3, but contestants like Lacey and Asher and Jessica from "Pirate Captain" handled it just fine. I honestly was never annoyed by Jennifer's screaming either. If anything, Nicholas was pissing me off in the temple. I think Jennifer and Jay (Empress Eugenie) are the only ones that are allow to scream at their partners and get a free pass. And even with 40 seconds to herself, Jennifer did two things right. She avoided the entire central shaft AND she almost assembled the Silver Monkey. She used her remaining time to the best of her abilities. I bet if Jennifer went into the temple first anyways, the team would've done much better.

Overall, good review and good score. I like "Madame Tussaud" a lot and the temple run definitely gets a bad reputation. It is nothing like "Smashed Printing Plate" or "William Tell' with annoying incompetent screamers and their incompetent partners. The temple run did suck, but not because of Jennifer. Interesting episode altogether and I would recommend it too.  :mrorange:

Yeah, Nicholas is what annoyed me the most about this temple run. If Jennifer DID mean anything mal intended with her shouting, then can you blame her? It should not take you over 2 minutes to scale the central shaft, even if it isn't an easy feat. People probably wouldn't be complaining about this run if Jennifer had gone in first instead. And yeah, I remember TMH's clip of Jennifer getting owned by that boulder. He did the same thing with Eddie getting owned in the Pit in Sojourner Truth as well.

But yeah, Melted head was actually a really good episode and every round was close. Just the temple run was bad.

I decided to do "Shiva" as my next project. This episode review is pretty short because there is almost nothing detail worthy to talk about in this episode.  :o And it features TSM's favorite player in his sig.  :mrorange:

THE STOLEN ARM OF SHIVA

MOAT: 4/10

The first player had to cross the moat by paddling their rafts across the moat with a rope in their hand. Once they reach the other side, they had to tie the ropes to a pole and their partners had to cross by using the two ropes above and below. Once they reach to the other side, the teams could chime in. This moat was like all the other moats of S1 where players had to cross by using the ropes above and below them. How original. There was nothing exciting or bad about this moat at all. The Red Jaguars and Orange Iguanas clocked in first and second while the Silver Snakes took the longest and clocked in fourth.

LEGEND: 2/10

Deep in the ruins of South East Asia lie the ruins of Angkor, a capital that was built by a great ruler named Suryavarman. He was a  very rich and prestige ruler, and owned a stable with over 200,000 war elephants. Each of his elephants tusks were made of gold. Some of the other fortunes he owned includes a golden crown, golden earrings, and several pounds of pearls around his neck. He also built a great temple called Angkor Wat, which is still the largest religious temple in the world. He built a great statue of Shiva with arms made of ivory. Eventually, the arms of Shiva were stolen after the end of the Cambodian Empire.

This legend was very vacuous and fails to provide many details at all. All it talks about is how rich Suryavarman was and there is very little mention of Shiva. If anything, this legend has nothing to do with Shiva. When I see an artifact dedicated to Shiva, I expect a detailed description of Shiva and not just two sentences at the end of the legend about it. This episode is not the only offender of that, but there is very little detail at all.

STEPS OF KNOWLEDGE: 4/10

The Silver Snakes swept the Steps of Knowledge with the first three questions asked. One of the questions was, "Suryavarman was the king of what people?" and Evan answered "Aztecs". Really, Evan? The legend took place in South East Asia and the Aztecs were a Central American Civilization. After a few irrelevant questions that weren't mentioned in the Legend, the Orange Iguanas moved onto the temple games with the Silver Snakes.

TEMPLE GAMES: 6/10

The temple games featured Christina, who liked to run track, and Evan, who has been to 45 states, of the Orange Iguanas. Their opponents were Joseph, who collected Basketball cards and own over 500 of them, and Heather, who liked to dance, of the Silver Snakes. The temple game sequence was surprisingly interesting considering how the legend story was pretty lacking. They were also pretty close too and couple of the temple games came down to the last couple of seconds.

Temple Game #1 - Stoop the Bells

On the temple wall, there were 5 bells that the players had to collect. The players first had to climb up to the very top of the temple wall and grab the very first bell, then they must jump to one side of the wall and grab the second bell. They must keep switching sides of the walls and grabbing each bell until they reach the bottom. The player with the most bells in their bag would be the winner. The temple game came down to a very close last second grab, where Joseph grabbed his last bell before Evan did putting the Silver Snakes ahead 0.5-0.

Temple Game #2 - Reassemble the Shiva Statue

Over the centuries, Shiva's arms were removed by looters and thieves. In this temple game, Christina and Heather had to reattach all of the arms of the Shiva statue. They had to scale a slippery ramp while placing an arm of Shiva on top of their head. Once they reached the top, they had to place the arms on the Shiva statue and go back down and repeat the process again. The player who placed the most arms on the Shiva statue would be the winner. Christina proved to be the more dominant player and got more arms on the Shiva statue, where she won 3-2. This gave each team a 0.5-0.5 tie.

Temple Game #3 - Decorating the Elephants' Tusks

In the final temple game, both partners had to work together in order to decorate the tusk of Suryavarman's elephants. There were four tusks in total that needed to be decorated. The temple game almost ended in a tie, but the Silver Snakes dropped on of their golden pieces before time ended. The Orange Iguanas won with a score of 4-3.

TEMPLE RUN: 3/10

This was a very boring and uneventful temple run. The team was so slow and even Kirk felt that they should speed up. Christina started out by making a break for the direct path, but only for her to be forced up the central shaft. As she slowly makes her way up the central shaft, she is eventually taken out in the Observatory. Evan slowly retraces Christina's path, and even with Kirk shouting at him to speed up and the clock winding down, he makes no attempt to speed up at all. In the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, Evan wastes the remaining time fumbling around the pieces of the Silver Monkey. His Silver Monkey attempt was pretty pathetic and laughable. If Larry from "Mysterious Manuscript" didn't have such a hard time screwing up the Silver Monkey, this would've been probably the worst assembly. Despite the team making it far, it wasn't a good run at all. Both players were very slow and Evan didn't seem competent at all. It was such a boring and uneventful temple appearance.

FINAL VERDICT: 3.8/10
This episode received a lower final score then I thought it would get. But it is understandable because this episode was VERY weak. None of the rounds of this episode were memorable or good at all. The temple games were the only really interesting part about this episode, and that is about it. I don't think it was totally a bad episode though, just boring and uneventful. The temple run is uneventful too and the players were way too slow. A lot of people regard this episode as the "most forgettable episode" on the show, and this episode deserves this title. Before watching it, I didn't remember any noteworthy details at all about it. I would not recommend watching this episode outside of the sake of completion. There is just nothing you are missing, unless you want to see the Silver Monkey get butchered pretty bad. This episode definitely won't be at the top of anyone's lists for r

Ouch, only a 3.8?! I knew it was gonna rank low, but you know it's a pretty bad episode if it can't even make a 4.0 average. This episode was so boring, I literally remember nothing about it, and not just because I've only seen the episode like.... 3 times. Even THK thought Evan was a terrible player and hated him after he ranked him in the Player Rankings thread. Evan even ranked lower than John and Tia! I believe he only got a low 4 average. I was originally gonna skip over this episode, but I might actually watch it. I want to rank Evan, just to see how low he ranks for me. Also, didn't he cheat in his temple game, and still manage to lose? :?

Overall, great ranking, even for such a filler episode. I was thinking of reviewing "The Upside Down Compass of Henry Hudson" next. I watched the episode yesterday, so I can definitely remember the details to review this episode. It should rank MUCH better than Shiva, even though Henry Hudson is a rather uneventful episode too.

I noticed Evan cheating in his temple game too. The boys were suppose to grab the bell at the very top of the wall first, then make their way down with the next highest bell on the wall. Instead, Evan grabbed the second highest bell first and then grabbed the highest bell. He was not suppose to grab that one at all until he grabbed the top one. I am surprised Kirk didn't say anything. The Silver Snake boy played fairly and luckily he won the temple game in the end. As for watching the episode, good luck with it. Even though it had a low score, there wasn't any terrible rounds like "Golden Cricket Cage" or "Cracked Crown". They were still mediocre though, and nothing really exciting happens. Good luck with watching that one.

And "Henry Hudson" is a good choice for an episode too. It will definitely rank much higher than Shiva for sure. I remember watching that episode for the player rankings, and I didn't think it was a bad episode at all. It was boring and uneventful, but not terrible at all. In fact, it was probably the best episode from that production day. And Sherra and Derek were a solid team before the temple. My next project is going to be "Bandit Queen". That should be a welcome change of pace for once.  :P  :mrsilver:

I'm back again for another episode review. This time, it's "The Upside-Down Compass of Henry Hudson."

THE UPSIDE-DOWN COMPASS OF HENRY HUDSON

MOAT: 6/10

For this moat, the players had to traverse a "side scrolling net" at the same time, but face opposite sides. Both players had to be off the net in order to ring in. This was a pretty quick round, and it was over fast. And none of the teams really struggled at all. But I only gave it a "6" because nothing too exciting happened during this round.

LEGEND: 7/10

The legend centers around Henry Hudson, who set out to find the Northwest Passage across North America, along with his son John and his crew of 20 men. When icebergs threatened the ship, the men wanted to turn back and threatened mutiny. Hudson however, just kept on going while John turned Henry Hudson's compass upside down to make it look like they were heading south. Naturally, Hudson ended up going south, to the relief of everyone else. They eventually made their way to the Northwest Passage, while the upside down compass made its way to the temple. Pretty good legend in my opinion. It didn't parody itself like most legends in Season 3 tend to.

STEPS OF KNOWLEDGE: 6/10

The Purple Parrots swept the Steps of Knowledge, while some of the other teams got at least one answer wrong in the process. The Green Monkeys however, barely scraped by and almost got two answers wrong. It was the final question where both David and Anna-Claire said completely different answers. David's answer turned out to be right, and they eventually came from behind to join the Purple Parrots on the final step. I'm surprised they let two different answers slide to be honest.

TEMPLE GAMES: 6/10

The temple games were a pretty average round. Not bad, just uneventful. In the first game, Sherra and Anna-Claire had to travel to the other side of the iceflow by using the sinking steps. This is one of my personal favorite games of Season 3 in my opinion. Sherra owned Anna-Claire on this game, and it looked like she was gonna make it ALL the way across, but her step sank at the last second. Anna-Claire was just pathetic, she kept stepping on the same steps and only made it ahead like three spaces. Naturally, Sherra won this game fair and square. In the second game, Derek and David had to run out and grab the fish, while avoiding the swinging obstacle. A game that's used A LOT in Season 3. Derek got off to a rather slow start, but he eventually came back to win the game 4-3. In the third game, the players had to use the human maze game to traverse through the Northwest Passage. The Purple Parrots just barely edge out the Green Monkeys, and win the game with about 13 seconds left. Earning them a trip to the temple! Where it's only one of a measly two appearances you'd see the Parrots in the temple. Oh well, PP Pwnage! :mrpurple: The Green Monkeys were pathetic in the temple games, and I'm glad they didn't go to the temple.

TEMPLE RUN: 5/10

This temple run featured a rather difficult layout, where each room was gonna take the players a while to finish. Sherra was a decent player, albeit a tad slow. She did hesitate at some points, but she's not the terrible player she's made out to be. After she knocks over the column, the Chamber door does NOT open until after she completes the Chamber objective. So the Tomb was not a dead end at all, she was forced to use it. She ends up meeting two consecutive temple guards, both in the Chamber and the King's Storeroom. She's removed in the latter room with 1:06 to go. Derek goes in next and he does an okay job. Unlike Sherra, Derek actually HAD the opportunity to use the Pit-Chamber door, but didn't. And it would've helped if he didn't detour into the Crypt as well. He does however, bypass the King's Storeroom for the Room of the Ancient Warriors, where he meets his third temple guard. With time ticking down, Derek makes it all the way to the Shrine, where he drops the monkey over the edge at the last second. But the editing is just so poor we don't actually see him drop the monkey. Also, after time was called, Derek makes it back to Sherra and Kirk like.... 3 seconds after the run ended. What was up with that? :? Anyways, this wasn't a bad team at all. They just encountered some bad luck.

FINAL VERDICT: 6.0/10

Not bad, not bad at all. I figured this episode would just get a low "6" average, and it's definitely not a terrible episode that it's made out to be. Everybody hates this episode and calls it a bottom five run just because of the temple run. Yes Sherra and Derek could've moved faster, but I think they get a bad rap because of the layout they had. Even if they had taken more shortcuts, this team still wouldn't have won. When Sherra completed the Chamber objective, all three doors opened, so she couldn't have used the Pit-Chamber entry. It's not like she was taking a direct path or anything. Furthermore, when a ladder is revealed for you to go up to the room above, isn't your first instinct to go up that ladder? I mean, Lauren and Mike have a near identical layout, but they get praised for it. But when Sherra and Derek try it, they got criticized and deemed bad players? This is definitely an underrated episode and temple run, and I still do recommend it for a re watch.
