The Treasury of the Golden Orbs
« on: October 09, 2011, 06:02:58 PM »
Hey. I was legends on youtube, and i noticed that the bases of the golden orbs are shaped!!

One is triangular, one is squared, and one is a circle!!!

Any other info about this??

PS: I'm new to this forum.

Welcome to the forum!

The Treasury of the Golden Orbs is such an odd room in the temple. Do the bases of the orbs really contain different shapes though? If they did, then I must not have been paying attention. I always thought the contestants just had to find an orb and place it into the correct pedestal. In fact, all of the runs that feature a contestant completing the Treasury objective (Snake Bracelet of Cleopatra, Collar of Davy Crockett, and Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress), the contestant used the same pedestal for an orb and the door opened.

I need to go back and check whether the orbs had different bases.

I think that the pedestals had shapes to match the bases, and that the contestants were told to match the orbs to pedestals.

Interesting, I tried watching a few of the S1L9 runs, and its kind of hard to make out whether the orbs have different shaped bases. I could see though that they are possibly shaped different.

One thing I noticed though is that all the times the Treasury's room has been completed, the contestants have used different orbs on the same pedestals.

I have an idea to figure this out but it's hard to explain.

In the Snake Bracelet of Cleopatra, The first orb she grabs looks like a square. The second one the she uses to open the door is probably a triangle, because when she lifts it you can the bottom, and it looks  like a triangle. And when shes putting it in, she's turning it one third each time she turns it.
And you can see that the base of the orb in the front is circular, based on how the light is shining on it.

That's interesting.

This room wasn't really challenging, but if I were the producers and wanted to make it a challenge, I'd make the players put on all three orbs in the correct pedestals.

At least the room was  step up from the Treasure Room. The Treasure Room appeared in five layouts and it was only used ONCE. It was basically the Heart Room with a giant box in the middle of it.

Yeah. In the Treasure of Anne Bonny, why do you think they didn't show Ron completing the objective?

I know there was a thread on here somewhere talking about this.

This run is really weird because you can tell that Ron never actually completed the room objective. When you see him run through the Treasury while carrying the artifact, you can tell there are no orbs in the pedestals. How he got into the Shrine in the first place is a complete mystery.  :o

Here's the topic in question if you are interested in reading about what others think might've happened during that run:
