Re-use of artifact props
« on: August 26, 2011, 10:58:11 PM »
The Imperial Purple Robe of Empress Theodora and The Leopard-Skin Cloak of Annie Oakley both look identical on the outside when looking at their screenshots. We don't get to see the inside of the Leopard-Skin Cloak, but we do see the inside of the Imperial Purple Robe. So my question is, are these two artifacts the same item that was used in the temple?

The Imperial Purple Robe of Empress Theodora

The Leopard-Skin Cloak of Annie Oakley

Interesting, they both look similar. I never noticed that at all. Though this wouldn't be the first time legends artifcts were reused. ;)

Yeah, didn't they reuse John Sutter and the Map to the Lost Gold Mine? Which magically became The Treasure Map of Jean Lafitte several episodes later.

Correct, and the producers also loved to use old props as a part of their artifacts for example:

The Treasure of Anne Bonny

Henry the VIII's Great Seal (You can see the treasure box in the back)

The Golden Jaguar of Atahualpa

Elizabeth I's Golden Ship (You can see the Jaguar in the background of the Room of the Golden Idols)

I am pretty sure there are more examples of Legends props being used as artifacts. I am pretty sure the Silk Sash from       was used in a temple game earlier on, but I don't remember.  :o

Yeah, it was used for their Dragon Tunnel games. Also, wasn't The Lion-Headed Bracelet of Chandragupta in the shrine throughout Season 1 as well? I'm pretty sure it was. Or maybe it was just another treasure used for decoration.

That's a good question. I know there is something else in the back of the Treasure Room near the Shrine door, but I could never make it out.

This is a picture I took from "The Lucky Pig of Amelia Earhart." I couldn't find a better shot of it in the other runs. It looks like some sort of golden skull or something like that sitting in the back of the room.

I guess that skull was only used for room decoration.

I think one of the items in the Shrine is a magic lamp. I think I remember seeing someone say that it was going to be used as an artifact in a future episode, but it never got used.

While we're on the topic of golden treasures, was The Golden Cup of Belshazzar one of those treasures? I could have sworn I would see a Golden Cup in the background in some episodes.

Shame they never did..."Aladdin's Magical Lamp" would have made a great episode. :P

I wouldn't be surprised if the producers had re-painted Galileo's Cannonball to be the Silver Cannonball of Grandy Nanny. The Trojan Horseshoe and the Silver Horseshoe of Butch Cassidy were probably one and the same, too.

And of course, the Collar of Davy Crockett was nothing more than a pendant of life.

Wasn't The Silver Cannonball of Grandy Nanny bigger though? Same with The Leopard Skin Cloak of Annie Oakley.

I'm not positive about the Leopard-Skin Cloak, but the Silver Cannonball does look bigger than Galileo's Cannonball...
