Well, my uncle was in town but thankfully not in the same area.  Pretty close call for sure... I'm pretty much staying on Facebook for the evening now to listen if anybody needs someone to talk to.

But on a more positive note, here's a more uplifting quote by a childhood friend of mine:

When you watch the footage, what do you see through the smoke and panic? You see civilians, coming together to help. Not after the chaos, not days later, as soon as the explosion, you see them in unison with the Armed Forces, police, EMT and firefighters. Just goes to show you that Boston is still filled with the great American patriots it was when this country started.

I guess the worst part, though, isn't the number of casualties.  It's the paranoia and fear that the whole bombing caused.  This last year's just been so ridiculous that it just doesn't feel safe going anywhere anymore.

I know, seriously. First a movie theater gets shot up, then a church, then a mall, than an Elementary School, and now this. Even though this was done by bombs and not a gun, but that's besides the point. And then you wonder why America is going to hell in a handbasket. It's like you can't go anywhere anymore without some sicko ruining everything.

R.I.P. to the 2 victims, and thoughts and prayers to everyone involved. Stuff like this just shouldn't happen.

Looks like the cause of the explosions were in fact bombs.

I don't want to play the blame game, but if the person who did this is from North Korea, then WW3 might happen sooner than you think.

But on a more positive note, I just found out an online fund has been set up to help one of my high school crew team coach's students and her mother, who were severly injured in one of the blasts.  In just a few hours, people have already donated over $57K.  Faith in humanity = hanging in there.
