« on: July 14, 2006, 05:18:42 PM »
(sweet, I'm caught up with my 1 episode a day thing now)

Episode 8: ?Caecilius? Ring?

*the camera zooms in on an ancient lush jungle, the palms are moving away as an elephant is heard*

*all the palms are gone, showing Olmec*

Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple. With your guide? Kirk Fogg!

*Kirk is shown slidding down a zipline & jumping off into the usual area*

Kirk: Thank you everyone. Thank you Olmec. Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are The rooms are filled with lost treasures protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today?

Olmec: Caecilius? Ring.

Kirk: Caecilius? Ring! Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Cap. Will it be *camera zooms into each team as they cheer & the usual* The Red Jaguars? The Blue Barracudas? The Green Monkeys? The Orange Iguanas? The Purple Parrots? Or the Silver Snakes? They?re going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests, and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec?s temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and Olmec will tell us how they?ll have to do it today.

Olmec: Each team will have 1 rope. There will be a small "island" (platform) in the middle. On go, one player will swing out to the middle of the island. They will pull a hanging chain, which will release a hooked bridge that was attached to the bottom. Than, you'll walk across the bridge to the other side. Than you're partner will swing across & walk across the bridge to ring the gong *Kirk bangs the Silver Snakes? gong*. The first four teams to hit their gong will go on to the next round.

Kirk: Alright, teams are you ready?!

*the teams cheer*

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?!

Olmec: Rock on!

Kirk: On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*the first people swing & only the Orange Iguanas, Purple Parrots, & Silver Snakes get across*

*they swing again & the Silver Snakes bang first, Purple Parrots second*

*on the second swing, the Blue Barracudas make it across*

*on the third swing, all 4 teams make it, the Orange Iguanas bang the gong third & the Blue Barracudas fourth*

Kirk: Whoa, that was close! Going onto the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes! & the Purple Parrots! & the Orange Iguanas! & the Blue Barracudas! Red Jaguars & Green Monkeys were so close, but hey, you tried your best. Here?s what you win. *Olmec explains prize*

*the camera changes to the four dry teams on the top of the Steps of Knowledge*

Kirk: As the quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about the Enchanted Wing of Pegasus. Bur before we get started, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec?s Temple.

Olmec: One of the wealthiest bankers of the ancient Roman town of Pompeii was Caecilius. He happily lived with wife Metella, son Quintus, slaves Clemens & Melissa, & cook Grumio. He had a very good life in Pompeii, but when Mt. Vesuvius started to erupt, Quintus & Metella were fleeing the town, & he freed Clemens after saving Caecilus? friend, Julius, after he started suffocating from the smoke, so Caecilius was alone. He searched for Metella & Quintus in the docks, but Holconius, the town officer, was not very happy.

Caecilius: Holconius! Have you seen Quintus & Metella?

Holconius: Do I look like I care? I lost my whole house! The statues are ruined!

Caecilius: So you care more about some statues then the lives of others?!

Olmec: & with that, Caecilius ran back to his house, hoping he?d bump into his son & wife. But when he arrived at his house, the wall collapsed on him! He lied buried in the rubble, when a terrified Clemens comes by.

Clemens: Master!

Caecilius: Clemens! I?m a bout to die, but please! Give this ring to Quintus when you meet up!

Clemens: OK, master!

Caecilius: What are you doing here anyway? You?re a freed man, get out of here! Just get the ring to Quintus!

Olmec: & with that, Clemens ran off.

Caecilius: *screaming & wheezing & coughing* GIVE THE RING TO QUINTUS!

Olmec: & Caecilius took one final breath & he died. Clemens tried to follow through his old master?s dying wish, & he did not know that in his household, Quintus was the only other one who survived, but they never met up. Quintus went off to Britannica & Clemens lost the ring, but it made its way to the Temple! Your job is the find Caecilius? Ring & bring it back here!

Kirk: Interesting Legend Olmec, but tell us, where is Caecilius? Ring?

Olmec: Caecilius? Ring can be found in the Battlefield!

Kirk: Kirk: OK. Teams: you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about today?s legend. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. Go ahead, stomp on it!

*Orange Iguanas hit the step*

Kirk: OK, Orange Iguanas, since you rang in first, you would be able to answer. If you?re right, you?ll move down to the next level. If you?re wrong or run out of time, I?m going to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level *Kirk runs down there* will be one step closer to Olmec?s Temple. Olmec, we are now ready for the first question.

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But before we get started, let?s find out a little about our teams. On the Silver Snakes, we have Connor. He likes football & his favorite subject in school is gym. Also on the Silver Snakes is Morgan, she likes soccer & her favorite subject in school is math. Give it up for the Silver Snakes! On the Orange Iguanas is Mike, likes baseball & his favorite subject in school is science. We also have Jenna, she likes basketball & her favorite subject in school is writing. Let?s hear it for the Orange Iguanas. Now, guys get ready for the first Temple Game, girls get ready for the second. Okay, go get ready for the Temple Games, I?m going to explain what?s gonna happen. Teams are competing in temple games to win: Pendants of Life. *shows two pendants* They?re going to need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games. Olmec, tell us about temple game number one.

Olmec: Clemens was on a quest to give Caecilius? ring to Quintus. On go, you?ll crawl on the soapy floor (attached to a bungee cord) & try to get all the way to Caecilius? hand. Rip the finger off his hand, slide back, & put the ring on Quintus? finger. The first person to put the ring on Quintus? finger wins!

Kirk: I?ve played this before. It?s called Ring-Around-Pompeii! On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*Connor & Mike start crawling on the floor*

*Connor gets an early lead, but Mike is right behind him*

*Connor grabs the ring & slides back & Mike is behind him, but Mike drops the ring on the path*

*Connor puts the ring on Quintus? hand*

Kirk: Oh, that was intense! Mike, you dropped the ring! Connor got the ring on first, so the Silver Snakes win the ? Pendant of Life! Olmec, tell us about it!

Olmec: Mt. Vesuvius erupted & it destroyed Pompeii & Herculaneum. Now, you can stop the flow of lava! Crawl up the slippery slope, pushing the boulder up with your back. Get to the top & put the boulder over the water spring & slide back down. The first person to stop the volcano wins.

Kirk: They?ll be saving Rome! On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*Morgan & Jenna start pushing up the slope*

*both are even, but Jenna slips half way up*

*Morgan gets to the top & puts the boulder over the water & slides back down*

Kirk: Oh! You slipped back down, giving the Silver Snakes the chance to get to the top! The Silver Snakes win the ? Pendant of Life! The Silver Snakes have 1 Pendant, the Orange Iguanas have nothing. Olmec, tell us about the final Temple Game!

Olmec: Caecilius was stuck under a wall that collapsed on him. Now, you?ll have to dig out Caecilius. All 4 of you will jump into a ball pit & dig to find a life size doll. The first team to get the life sized doll of Caecilius & bring it out of the pit wins!

Kirk: This is for the Temple! On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*the 4 start digging, Jenna & Mike in the center, Connor & Morgan around the sides*

*the Orange Iguanas & Silver Snakes are finding nothing, but than Connor gets an arm & starts yanking it out*

*Morgan gets under the doll & pushes it out with Connor*

Kirk: Whoa! The Silver Snakes got the doll & the Pendant! Silver Snakes go to the Temple! Orange Iguanas, you tried, but you couldn?t make it this far. You still go home with a prize. *Olmec explains prize*

Kirk: *only Silver Snakes are present* We're gonna see if the Silver Snakes can retrieve Caecilius? Ring, and we're gonna do it right after this!

Kirk: Welcome back. Connor & Morgan have proven themselves worthy and have earned themselves the right to enter Olmec?s temple. But before we get started, Olmec, can you give the Silver Snakes any clues about your Temple & how to retrieve Caecilius? Ring?

Olmec: You can start off in the Miner?s Cave. Crawl through the tunnel to make it into the Pit of Anguish. If you can get across, you can head into the Crocodile?s Mouth! Grab the fish from the walls & put them into the crocodile?s mouth & you can go up into the Ranch! Or you can head into the Anaconda?s Sanctuary. Untangle the snake & attach it to the wall & go into the Sacred Safari! Find the key in the elephant?s mouth, but beware of the Temple Guards, disguised as elephants! You can go up, or bust through the wall into the Battlefield, where you can grab Caecilius? Ring! Jump on the trampoline to reach the ladder in the Ninja?s Secret Training Chamber & climb into the Ladder of Doom! Put the correct torch into the torch holder & enter the Shriiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine of the Siiiiiiilver Monkey! Assemble the statue & go into the Chamber of the Royal Containers. Dump the containers on the floor & find the key to go down, or head into the Observation Tower! Line up the telescope with the markings on the wall to open the door to cross the Stumps of Dejection! Use the 2 planks to get across the four stumps, or jump back into the Pit of Anguish. Race thorough the Hammered Nails & back to the Temple Gates! The choices are yours & yours alone! You won two pendants into the Temple. Who is going first?

Connor: I am!

Olmec: Very well, Connor! When Kirk gives the signal, you?ll race through the gate into the temple and make your way towards Caecilius? Ring. Hidden inside the temple are temple guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you?re caught without a pendant, you?ll be taken out of the temple and it will be Morgan?s turn to try his luck. If you can reach the artifact, all the doors in the temple will instantly unlock, and the temple guards will vanish. Return through the gates with the artifact within three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded. And here?s how! *Olmec explains three prizes*

Kirk: Connor says he can take it on! On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*Connor races up to the Hammered Nails & gets the first nail, so he goes into the Stumps of Dejection with 2:48 left*

*he jumps down into the Pit of Anguish & goes into the Crocodile?s Mouth*

*he gets all 9 fish & goes into the Ranch with 2:37*

*he saddles up the horse & goes into the Chamber of the Royal Containers with 2:34 left*

*he pours out the containers & goes down into the Anaconda?s Sanctuary with 2:27 left*

*he untangles the snake & goes into the Sacred Safari with 2:13 left*

*Connor climbs up into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 2:02 left*

*he assembles the monkey & goes down into the Battlefield with 1:49 left*

*he grabs the ring & jumps up into the Ninja?s Secret Training Lair*

*he runs through the Ladder of Doom & goes into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 1:34 left*

*he runs into the Chamber of the Royal Containers, but he slips & gets back up & runs into the Observation Tower with 1:27*

*he goes down into the Stumps of Dejection & jumps down into the Pit of Anguish with 1:23 left*

*he enters the Miner?s Cave & crawls through it & comes out with 1:15 left*

Kirk: HE GOT IT ALL! HE DID IT! Unbelievable! HE WAS LIKE FLASH! THEY GET IT ALL, ALL 3 PRIZES! JOIN US NEXT TIME ON A GREAT LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! BUH-BYE!

Great work as always, but we should all probably do some losses (and not close ones, normal ones) instead of all these wins. Just an observation.

I just felt that it was my duty to make it a win (because I'm just such a Latin & Greek freak). Yeah. So far, I have 4 wins, 2 losses, 1 caught by Temple Guards, & 1 couldn't get out. My next ones will not be wins! Haha
