Episode 11: The Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine

The camera winds and twists its way through a thick jungle of strange and exotic plants. After a few wrong turns, it finally stops in front of an ancient Mayan temple. At the base of the temple, a giant stone head sits. Suddenly, the head’s eyes light up and it begins to speak:

Legends of the Hidden Temple: Rebirth!” These words appear on the screen. “With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is now!”

A middle-aged man wearing a denim shirt and blue jeans swings in on a rope. He drops down and runs up the Steps of Knowledge, microphone in hand.

“Thank you! Thank you, everybody! Nice to see everyone again! It’s good to see you again, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple: Rebirth. The rooms are filled with lost treasures protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legends behind each of these newly discovered treasures in his Temple…which one are we gonna hear about today, Olmec?”

“The legend of the Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine,” Olmec replies.

“Oh, the Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine,” Kirk responds. “So, the legend is set, and one of these teams will have a chance to retrieve the Comb—will it be:

“The Red Jaguars?” The camera zooms in on each team as they are introduced.
“The Blue Barracudas?
“The Green Monkeys?
“The Orange Iguanas?
“The Purple Parrots?
“Or the Silver Snakes?

“They’ll have to pass some of the toughest physical and mental tests they’ve ever taken, but in the end, only one team will get to enter Olmec’s Temple. But first they have to cross the Moat, and Olmec, why don’t you tell us how they’ll have to do that today…”

Olmec begins to explain the Moat Crossing:
“Before you, a long rope hangs into the Moat. When Kirk gives the signal, one player from each team will swim out to the rope, grab it, swim back with it, and swing across. Once you’re safely across, throw the rope to your partner, who will then swing across in the same way. If your feet touch the water while you’re swinging, you must go back and start again. Once both players reach the other side, run over and hit the gong.” Kirk hits the Silver Snakes’ gong to demonstrate. “The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round!”

“All right, I’m ready,” Kirk says. “Hey teams, are you ready?”
All six teams scream and cheer in response.
“And Mr. Olmec, are you ready?” Kirk asks.
“OOOHH yeah,” Olmec replies.
“All right, then,” Kirk says. “On your mark, get set, GO!”

The six team members jump into the Moat and grab the ropes. The Silver Snakes’ boy is first back on the dock, with the Green Monkeys’ boy and Orange Iguanas’ girl close behind. The Red Jaguars’ boy and Blue Barracudas’ girl climb out, and all five players successfully swing across and throw the ropes to their partners. “Everybody’s doin’ great so far,” Kirk narrates. “That could all change really quickly, though!” The Purple Parrots’ girl makes it across and throws the rope to her partner as the other team’s second players begin their swing across. The Red Jaguars’ girl touches the water on her swing across; however, the other four players successfully swing across and hit their gongs in this order: Green Monkeys, Silver Snakes, Blue Barracudas and Orange Iguanas.

“That’s it!” Kirk shouts as he rushes over to stand beside the Silver Snakes. “That was fast! The Silver Snakes had no problems at all, as did our other teams—goin’ on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes…and the Orange Iguanas,” Kirk briefly pauses between each team’s name to allow for applause. “And the Green Monkeys, and the Blue Barracudas! The Red Jaguars and the Purple Parrots just missed it by an eyelash, but they’re not goin’ home empty-head—handed. We’ve got a great gift for ‘em, and here’s what it is!” They receive a $50 gift certificate from Gamestop.

Kirk and the remaining four teams are now standing atop the Steps of Knowledge. “As the quest continues, it’s time now for Olmec to tell us about the Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine. But teams, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec’s Temple…”

Olmec begins to tell the story:
“One of the wealthiest and most powerful women of the Middle Ages was Eleanor of Aquitaine. Born in France, she was the daughter of Duke William of Aquitaine, and was known as a lively, expressive young girl. In 1137, when she was 15, her parents died, and she moved in with her distant uncle, King Louis the Sixth. But the king was highly ill at the time, confined to his bed, and was said to be near death. Eleanor visited his bedside constantly, caring for the ailing king. Legend has it that one day, as Eleanor brought Louis the Sixth’s breakfast to him, she found the king talking with a handsome young man.
“‘Oh…excuse me, Uncle Louis; I didn’t know you had company…’
“‘It’s quite all right, child,’ replied Louis. ‘Eleanor, I would like you to meet my son, Louis. Louis, this is Eleanor, the girl I was telling you about.’
“‘Uh…hi,’ said Louis, smiling bashfully.
“‘It’s, uh…nice to meet you,’ replied Eleanor, blushing.
“Eventually, the two became a couple, and one day, in front of his dying father, Louis proposed to Eleanor.
“‘Eleanor, will you marry me?’
“‘Oh, Louis…of course I will!’
“Eleanor and Louis were married later that year, and Louis became King Louis the Seventh of France. As wedding gifts, Eleanor gave Louis the Seventh a rock crystal vase, and Louis gave Eleanor an expensive set of tortoiseshell combs, which she cherished until the day she died. Soon afterwards, the combs were all lost except one, which has found its way to the Temple. Your quest is to find the Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine and bring it back here.”

“Thanks, Olmec,” Kirk replies. “So tell us, where is the comb?”

“The Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine can be found in the Bamboo Forest,” Olmec replies. The camera zooms in on the large black-and-green comb positioned on the railing at the front of the room before fading back to Kirk.

“Teams, you’re now standing on the Steps of Knowledge,” Kirk explains. “In just a moment, Olmec’s gonna ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on that ancient marking in front of you. If you’re right, you’re gonna move down to the next level, but if you’re wrong or run out of time, I’m gonna give the other teams a chance to answer.” Kirk begins descending the Steps. “The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec’s Temple. Olmec…we’re now ready for your first question.”

Olmec begins:
“Was Eleanor of Aquitaine from: England, Spain, or France?”
The Green Monkeys ring in. “France?”
“That is correct,” Olmec replies. The Green Monkeys proceed to the second step.
“The Green Monkeys can step down,” says Kirk. “But we need two teams—next question, Olmec.”

“Which of these phrases best describes Eleanor of Aquitaine: shy and reserved, lively and expressive, or mean and cruel?”
After a few seconds, the Green Monkeys ring in. “Lively and expressive?”
“That is correct,” Olmec proclaims. The Green Monkeys step to the next-to-last level.
“Now the Green Monkeys are just one step away from the Temple Games,” Kirk narrates. “But anything can happen here. Next question, Olmec.”

“How old was Eleanor when her parents died: 15, 16, or 17?”
The Green Monkeys ring in. “Fifteen?”
“That…is correct!” Olmec booms. The Green Monkeys step to the bottom level.
“And just like that, the Green Monkeys are our first team goin’ on to the Temple Games,” Kirk narrates. “Now we only need one more team. Who’s it gonna be: the Silver Snakes, the Orange Iguanas, or the Blue Barracudas? Next question.”

“When her parents died, Eleanor moved in with King Louis the Sixth of France. What relation was Louis to Eleanor—”
The Blue Barracudas ring in. “Her uncle?”
“That is correct,” Olmec says. The Blue Barracudas step down to the second level.
“Nice job, Blue Barracudas,” Kirk narrates. “Next question, Olmec.”

“What was Louis the Sixth’s son’s name—”
The Silver Snakes ring in. “Louis…the Seventh?”
“That is correct,” Olmec replies. The Silver Snakes join the Blue Barracudas on the second step.
“The Silver Snakes are right behind ‘em,” Kirk narrates. “Next question, please.”

“According to our legend, when Louis and Eleanor were married, did Eleanor give Louis—”
The Blue Barracudas ring in early. “The combs?”
“That is not one of our three choices,” Olmec explains. “The three choices are: a silver pocket watch, a rock crystal vase, or a mobile phone?”
The Silver Snakes ring in. “A rock crystal vase.”
“That is correct,” Olmec replies. The Silver Snakes step down to the next-to-last level.
“Now the Silver Snakes are only one step away,” Kirk narrates. “Still plenty of time for the other teams to catch up, though…next question.”

“According to our legend, Louis also gave Eleanor a wedding gift. Was it: a diamond necklace—”
The Silver Snakes ring in early. “The…tortoiseshell combs?”
That is correct!” Olmec booms. The Silver Snakes join the Green Monkeys on the bottom step.

“And we’ve got our two teams goin’ to the Temple Games!” Kirk exclaims as he runs back onscreen and stands between the two advancing teams. “It’s the Green Monkeys, and the Silver Snakes! Blue Barracudas, Orange Iguanas, come on down here. We’ve—you guys aren’t goin’ home empty-handed, either. We’ve got a great gift for you guys, and here’s what it is!” They receive camping gear from Outdoor Products.

“These two teams will be playing for the right to enter Olmec’s Temple, and they’ll do it right after this!” Kirk explains.

The camera runs along the edge of the Temple until it reaches Olmec. Our stone-faced co-host’s eyes light up and he moans slightly as the title appears onscreen, and we go to a commercial.

Legends: Rebirth-The Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aqu...
« Reply #2 on: August 15, 2009, 06:27:29 PM »
We return from the break and see Kirk standing in front of the Temple with one team on either side of him.

“Welcome back to Legends: Rebirth,” he says. “Now, the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But before that happens, let’s meet our two teams…

“On the Silver Snakes, we have Stephanie; she plays softball and she wants to be a scientist, and her partner, Chris, likes to collect magazines and he also wants to be a doctor—let’s hear it for the Silver Snakes!” The audience claps for the blue-eyed girl with curly brown hair and the short, green-eyed boy with very short brown hair.

“And on the Green Monkeys, we have Emma; she likes to cook—in fact, she wants to be a professional chef, and her partner is Justin; he plays baseball and lacrosse and he wants to study animals—how ‘bout a hand for the Green Monkeys?” The audience applauds for the short, brown-eyed girl with her red hair pulled back into a ponytail and the tall, brown-haired, blue-eyed boy.

“All right, are you guys ready to play?” Kirk asks the Green Monkeys.
“Yeah!” they reply.

“How about you guys?” he asks the Silver Snakes.
They reply in much the same manner.

“Okay, everybody go get ready for the Temple Games. Now, in these Temple Games, our teams are competing for…” Kirk retrieves a Pendant of Life from his pouch and holds it up to the camera. “…Pendants of Life. The winners are gonna need those Pendants to protect them from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through Olmec’s Temple. There are three Temple Games. Olmec, tell us about the first one, please…”

“You got it, boss,” Olmec replies. The black lights under Olmec come on and he begins to explain the first Temple Game:

“Being the children of royalty, Louis and Eleanor had a very fancy wedding. In this game, you will be hanging up decorations for the wedding. When Kirk gives the signal, come down, grab a streamer, jump back up, and hang it on the ceiling above you. Then come back down, grab another streamer and do it again. The player who hangs the most streamers at the end of thirty seconds…wins.”

“Nice day for a white wedding, huh?” jokes Kirk. “Let’s set the clock for thirty seconds!” The clock appears onscreen, ready to go. “On your mark, get set, GO!”

Stephanie and Emma both have a difficult time getting their bungee cords to drop down low enough to get the streamers, which are colored green and silver to match the teams’ colors, but they do eventually get the hang of it. It remains a close game up until the end, and both teams have about the same number of streamers hung on the ceiling when the clock reaches zero.

“Okay, time’s up!” says Kirk as he runs back onscreen. “Nice job by both teams, let’s count it up and see how we did.” He looks up at the Green Monkeys’ ceiling. “Green Monkeys got—one, two, three, four, five streamers, and…the Silver Snakes got—one, two, three, four streamers. That means the Green Monkeys win the half Pendant of Life!” The audience applauds for a few seconds. “The Silver Snakes can still catch up in the next game, though. It’s also worth a half Pendant. Olmec, tell us about it, please…”

Olmec begins:
“Eleanor of Aquitaine used her treasured Tortoiseshell Combs every day, but she always put them away when she was finished with them. In this game, you will also be putting away combs. Before you stands a maze with numerous compartments, some of which contain a comb. When Kirk gives the signal, crawl into the maze and come up in one of the holes. If you find a comb, come back and place it in your bin; otherwise, go back down and come up in another hole. The first player to retrieve all six combs or…the player with the most combs at the end of sixty seconds…wins.”

“This is an awfully difficult way to put away combs,” Kirk observes. “Set the clock for sixty seconds!” The clock appears, ready to go. “On your mark, get set, GO!”

Justin and Chris both start out strong, retrieving a comb on the first time they pop up in the maze. Chris has horrible luck finding any combs after that, though, allowing Justin to pull ahead. Chris does eventually get a total of three combs, but the lightning-fast Justin brings back the sixth comb with one second to spare.

“That’s it, time’s up!” Kirk shouts as he runs back onscreen. “Wait a minute—the judges tell me that the Green Monkeys brought back their last comb just in the nick of time, so that means the Green Monkeys get the half Pendant of Life!” The audience applauds. “So now, the Green Monkeys have one Pendant, the Silver Snakes still don’t have any. Now, we go to the third and final Temple Game. It’s worth a full Pendant of Life. Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #3…”

Olmec begins to explain the final Temple Game:
“When Louis and Eleanor became king and queen, they moved into Louis’s father’s palace, but they decorated it to their liking first. When Kirk gives the signal, begin climbing up the castle tower with your team’s flag in tow. When you reach the top, place your flag in the designated hole. The first team to place their flag or…the team that’s further along at the end of sixty seconds…wins.”

“This is for the Temple,” Kirk explains. “Set the clock for sixty seconds, please!” The clock appears onscreen, all set to go. “On your mark, get set, GO!”

The Silver Snakes and Green Monkeys remain neck-and-neck throughout the game. It appears that Emma is slowing the Green Monkeys down, though, as the Silver Snakes climb slightly higher on the tower as the clock reaches zero.

“That’s it!” Kirk says as he runs back onscreen and stands between the two towers. “Come on back down, guys. Well, the judges say that neither team reached the top in time, but the Silver Snakes were just a little ahead when time ran out, so the Silver Snakes win the full Pendant of Life. That means the Green Monkeys have a Pendant; the Silver Snakes have a Pendant—we’ve got a tie! Let’s bring in the tiebreaker pedestal!”

A spotter wheels in the tiebreaker pedestal, and both teams position themselves behind it. Kirk stands beside the pedestal and explains the rules.

“Okay, here’s what’s gonna happen. In a few minutes, Olmec’s gonna ask you one final question. If you think you know the answer, hit the gong in front of you. You’ll have three seconds to answer, and we must accept your first response. The first team to buzz in and answer the question correctly is going inside the Temple in search of the Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine. All clear?” Both teams nod in response. “Okay,” Kirk says. “Olmec…what is your final question?”

Olmec begins to ask the final question of the day:
“Is a tortoise classified as: an amphibian, a reptile, or—”

The Green Monkeys ring in. “A reptile?”

“That…is correct!” Olmec exclaims.

“That’s it! The Green Monkeys are goin’ to the Temple!” Kirk exclaims as Emma and Justin high-five one another in excitement. The Silver Snakes walk over and shake their opponents’ hands in congratulation. “The Silver Snakes being good sports here, but they’re not goin’ home empty-handed—oh, no. We’ve got a great gift for ‘em, and here’s what it is!” They receive a custom-made Legends of the Hidden Temple: Rebirth watch.

As the prize disappears off-screen, Kirk is seen standing beside the winning team. “Now we’ll see if the Green Monkeys can make it through Olmec’s Temple and retrieve the Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine, right after this!” Kirk says.

The camera pans in on the Temple and zooms in on the Tortoiseshell Comb as the title appears onscreen, and we fade to commercial.

« Reply #3 on: August 15, 2009, 06:36:09 PM »
We return from the break to find Kirk standing in front of the Temple with the winning team.

“Welcome back to Legends: Rebirth,” he says. “Emma and Justin have proven themselves worthy, and have now earned the right to enter Olmec’s Temple. But first, Olmec’s gonna give them some information that could help them retrieve the Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine…”

Olmec begins to explain the layout as the camera gives us a first-person tour of the Temple:
“You could start…by running up the stairs to the Crypt! Grab the book from the skeletons, and pass into the Rope Labyrinth! Maneuver through the ropes, and climb into the Great Seal Room. Place the correct seal in the central holder, and a door may open into the Chamber…of the Sacred Markers. Match the symbols on the right to those on the left, and pass into the Safari Room. Push in the correct animal head and open the door to the SHRIIIINE of the Silver Monkey! Assemble the statue and you may be headed toward the Room…of the Secret Password. Find the tablet with the correct inscription and shout it out to open the door to the Pharaoh’s Secret Passage. Slide down the tunnel to the Dungeon, where you could smash through the wall into the Dark Forest…but beware of the Temple Guards that may inhabit the trees! Find the key in the tree, and you’ll enter…the Bamboo Forest! Maneuver through the thicket, and you’ll gain entry to the Tomb of the Headless Kings. Pull the vine to release the bones, and attach the missing skull to its proper king, then…crawl through the Labyrinth, climb through the Ledges, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate. The choices are yours and yours alone!” Olmec pauses. “You won 1 Pendant in the Temple Games. Who’s going first?”

“I am,” says Justin, raising his hand.

“Very well, Justin,” Olmec replies. “When Kirk gives the signal, you’ll race through the gate into the Temple and make your way toward the Tortoiseshell Comb. Hidden inside the Temple are Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but—if you’re caught without a Pendant, you’ll be taken out of the Temple, and it’ll be Emma’s turn to enter and try her luck. If you can reach the Comb, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish. Return through the gate with the Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine in three minutes, and you’ll both be handsomely rewarded—and here’s how!”

• Just for making it this far, they’ll get a game table.
• If they can grab the Tortoiseshell Comb within three minutes, they’ll also receive an Xbox 360, complete with three new games.
• And if they can bring the Tortoiseshell Comb out of the Temple before three minutes expires, they’ll win a trip to St. Thomas.

“Let’s see if these guys can make it back and win that trip,” Kirk says. “Emma, sometimes a strategy can make all the difference in Olmec’s Temple. Do you and Justin have a strategy?”

“Yeah, he told me he’s just gonna stay high, and try to come down to get the comb, right?” Justin nods in response.

“Okay, looks like they’ve got it figured out—we’ll see, won’t we? Everybody got their mouthpiece in. Let’s set the clock for three minutes!” The clock appears in the bottom corner of the screen, all set to go.

“Olmec, lower your gate, please.” Olmec moans gutturally as the gate is lowered, and the black lights under him go out.

“All right…ready, Justin?” Kirk asks.

“Yeah,” Justin says.

“On your mark,” Kirk begins, “get set, GO!”

Justin dashes up the stairs, disappearing behind Olmec in no time. He enters the Crypt (2:56) and pulls the first book, immediately opening the door to the Rope Labyrinth. He darts through the open door and begins clambering through the room. He arrives on the other side quite quickly (2:49) and pushes the actuator for the door to the Chamber of the Sacred Markers, which won’t open. He climbs up a bit higher and hits the actuator to the Great Seal Room, and this time, the door opens (2:42). “That’s the door to the Great Seal Room!” Kirk narrates. “He’s making great time!” The camera shows Emma, clapping and cheering her partner on. Justin appears in the Great Seal Room and brings all four seals to the central holder in one trip. He places one in the holder, but nothing happens. He tries a second one, and the door to the Chamber of the Sacred Markers opens (2:31). He climbs down the ladder, jumping off and avoiding the last few rungs. He finds two tiles on the stage-left wall, and looks around for a second or two before finding the third tile on the stage-right wall. Justin places the tiles, and the door to the Safari Room opens (2:22). “He’s got it! Into the Safari Room!” Kirk narrates. “This guy’s fast, but Emma could have to take off at any time!”

Justin bolts through the door into the room and immediately hits the lion’s head, which opens the door to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. However, he hits all five animal heads, and the leopard’s head opens the door leading downward to the Dark Forest. He sees the open passage and begins climbing down, emerging in the room a few seconds later (2:10). He reaches into the hole of the stage-right tree, but comes out empty-handed several seconds later. He reaches into the stage-left tree, but no sooner has he done this than he is grabbed by a TEMPLE SPIRIT (2:00)! “Oh, that tree’s a Temple Guard!” Kirk narrates. “He’ll have to give up his team’s only Pendant!” Justin places the Pendant in the hole of the tree, and continues searching for a key. But instead of pulling out a key, he pulls out the Pendant that he just placed in the hole (1:53). He throws it down, reaches back in, and finally pulls out the key (1:45). He inserts it in the slot next to the door to the Bamboo Forest, and the door to the room opens (1:35). He climbs through the door, scrambles through the bamboo, and grabs the TORTOISESHELL COMB (1:27).

“He’s got the comb! All the doors are open now!” exclaims Kirk. Justin maneuvers around the remaining bamboo poles in the room and climbs through the open door to the Tomb of the Headless Kings. He bolts across the room and back into the Rope Labyrinth (1:12). “He’s got plenty of time left—he’s gonna make it!” exclaims Kirk. The camera shows Emma jumping up and down, clapping her hands and shouting “Come on!” Justin scrambles through the Ledges and back through the Temple Gate with a whopping 1:01 left on the clock.

“He did it!” Kirk shouts as a fanfare of trumpets plays. Emma starts crying tears of joy, and Justin picks her up and hugs her. “He did it all by himself! He didn’t need any help—he got in and out all by himself! They got the game tables, the Xbox—they’re goin’ to St. Thomas!” Emma hugs Justin tightly as he holds up the Tortoiseshell Comb for all to see. Kirk puts his hand on Justin’s shoulder. “This guy was incredible! He’s ‘Justin Credible’! This team was great; they really deserved this! But unfortunately, we can’t stay here to celebrate. We’ve gotta get out of here, but we’ll see you next time. Just remember: it’s not just Legends—it’s Legends: Rebirth! Buh-bye, everybody!”

Kirk, Emma and Justin wave to the cheering crowd as the credits start to roll very slowly. The camera cuts to a first-person tour of the Temple rooms as the credits continue to roll, and Temple Guards are seen inside the Ledges and the Tomb of the Headless Kings, showing where they were throughout the Temple Run. The camera cuts back to Emma and Justin one last time as the show goes off the air.

The Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine
Season 1, Layout 1
Artifact Location
: The Bamboo Forest
Team: Green Monkeys (Emma Anderson & Justin McGowan)
Pendants: 1
Result: Escaped! (1:01 left)

Three solo wins in a row…impossible, you say? Not if your name is Justin McGowan—or “Justin Credible”, as Kirk called him. This is a rather well-deserved nickname, as the kid scored the fastest Temple Run victory in Legends: Rebirth so far.

A downright dominant player, Justin also got lucky breaks throughout his time in the Temple. He only had to pull one book in the Crypt, and the second seal he placed in the Great Seal Room happened to be the correct one. He was also smart, trying all five animal heads in the Safari Room even after the door to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey opened. The one room that caused him problems was the Dark Forest. Not only was it where he met his first (and only) Temple Guard, he had a lot of trouble finding the key in the tree’s cavity. The first time he tried to pull something out, he accidentally pulled out the Pendant of Life he’d given the Temple Spirit a few seconds before. Fortunately, he found the key, and grabbed the Tortoiseshell Comb with a staggering 1:27 left on the clock. From there, it was smooth sailing, as the guy recorded the win with sixty-one seconds to spare.

If I can be a bit of a killjoy, though, this team probably lucked into a win. They were smart sending their “good player” in first. Emma didn’t seem all that fast in the Temple Games, and she cost her team the full Pendant in the final game. If they’d have sent her into the Temple first, I can’t help but think this team would probably have fared much worse. Justin? He definitely deserved the grand prize. Emma? Maybe; maybe not…

Rating: 7.5 out of 10

Notes and Trivia: This is the third successful solo Temple Run in a row in which the runner only encounters one Temple Guard, and the only Temple Run in Legends history in which the only Temple Guard encountered is a Temple Spirit in the Dark Forest.

The credits at the end of this show roll very slowly, using up the time the producers probably thought they would have to spend on the Temple Run.

While the credits roll, a first-person run-through of the Temple is given, and Temple Guards appear in both the Ledges and the Tomb of the Headless Kings, showing where the ones that Justin failed to meet were.

Good episode.  I think it's more plausible than "The Rudder from the HMS Endurance," personally.  The Temple Games looked pretty good, too.

Can't wait for the next! :)

Sorry to bump this thread, but in the trivia it says that this is the only episode in legends History where the only Temple Guard encountered was a Temple Spirit. What about the Silver Horseshoe of Butch Cassidy?

Yeah...expect a few errors in my earlier episodes like this, as I sometimes failed to go through previous episodes and double-check my statements.
