The four remaining teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Diamond Necklace of Marie Antoinette. But pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the Legend can bring you one step closer to Olmec's Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the story:
"One of the most beautiful and elegant queens of France was Marie Antoinette. She was born in Austria, but brought to France when she was very little. When she was only fourteen, Marie heard she was going to be married off to the prince of France, Louis the Sixteenth.
(Imitating Marie's voice) "'I'm getting married? Uh! Daddy, I'm fourteen, I can't even drive yet! And you expect me to take care of a royal family and their royal messes?'
"Marie's father Francis replied:
"'You'll do as I say or no caviar for you, young lady. Now march! Your wedding gown is waiting.'
"Grudgingly, Marie traveled to the palace at Versailles, but here she changed her tune. The walls were covered in enormous mirrors and gold, but the surprises didn't stop there. Marie found out that she would be wearing a wedding gown encrusted with diamonds and pearls, and she would be given a collection of treasures of previous French queens.
"'WOW!' she shouted, her eyes sparkling when she saw the collection. 'Emeralds, pearls, rubies? a golden pepperoni?? Wait? what's this?' She pulled out an unbelievably expensive necklace made of forty diamonds. 'Jackpot! Strike what I said before, I'll marry this rich dude! Looooou-ie! Where ARE you?'
"And she went to find her future husband and prepare for her wedding. Marie wore that diamond necklace on her wedding day and every day thereafter until she died. Your quest is to find the Diamond Necklace and bring it back here."
"Thank you Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes the story. "So, where is this Diamond Necklace?"
Olmec replies:
"The Diamond Necklace of Marie Antoinette can be found in the Bamboo Forest." The camera zooms in on the Diamond Necklace lying on the front wall of the Bamboo Forest, then fades back to Kirk.
"Teams," Kirk begins, "you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in a minute, Olmec will ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're right, you're gonna move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance to answer." Kirk continues talking as he walks down the steps. "The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to the Temple of Olmec. Olmec, we're now ready for your first question."
Olmec begins:
"Was Marie Antoinette going to marry the prince of??"
The girl on the Blue Barracudas rings in: "France??"
"That is correct," Olmec replies.
"All right! Step down!" Kirk shouts, and the two players on the Blue Barracudas move down a step. "Blue Barracudas've scored. Next question, Olmec."
Olmec asks:
"Was the prince of France??"
The girl on the Purple Parrots stomps down very early: "Uhh?? French??"
"No, that is not one of our three choices," Olmec replies. "Was he: Henry the Eighth, Louis the Sixteenth, or William of Orange?"
The boy on the Orange Iguanas buzzes in: "Louis the Sixteenth??"
"That is correct," Olmec answers.
"Okay! Orange Iguanas on the board!" Kirk comments as the Orange Iguanas move down a step. "Next question."
Olmec now asks:
"Was Marie born in??"
"Austria," the boy on the Silver Snakes says very early.
"Wait, let me call your team first," says Kirk. "Silver Snakes."
"Austria," the boy repeats.
"That is correct," says Olmec, and the Silver Snakes move down to the second step.
"That match is starting to heat up," comments Kirk. "But the Purple Parrots can catch up too. Olmec, continue."
Olmec does so by asking:
"How old was Marie when she was married: Twelve, fourteen, or eighteen?"
After a second, the girl on the Blue Barracudas stomps down first: "Was she fourteen??"
"Yes, she was!" Olmec replies, allowing the Blue Barracudas to move down another step.
"And now the Blue Barracudas are only one step away from the Temple Games," Kirk narrates. "But we're looking for two teams. Olmec, next question."
Olmec continues:
"Marie Antoinette traveled to the royal palace of France to prepare for her wedding. Is this palace called: Marseilles, Versailles, or Moulin Rouge?"
The boy on the Silver Snakes gongs in: "Moulin Rouge??"
"Incorrect," Olmec replies.
Then the boy on the Purple Parrots stomps down and guesses: "Marseilles??"
"Incorrect," Olmec answers. "Versailles was the answer."
"All right," Kirk replies. "Next question."
Olmec asks:
"Was Marie Antoinette's wedding gown encrusted with diamonds an??"
The boy on the Orange Iguanas rings in early: "Diamonds??"
"That is not one of our three choices," Olmec replies. "Was it encrusted with diamonds and: Sapphires, Tanzanites, or Pearls?"
The girl on the Blue Barracudas stomps down and shouts: "Diamonds and pearls!"
"That is correct," Olmec says in response, and the Blue Barracudas walk down onto the bottom step.
"All right! We've got our first team going on to the Temple Games!" Kirk announces. "But who's gonna join them: the Silver Snakes, the Purple Parrots or the Orange Iguanas? Next question."
Olmec asks:
"What is the capital of France??"
The boy on the Orange Iguanas rings in: "Paris."
"That is correct," Olmec replies, allowing the Orange Iguanas to move onto the second-to-last step.
"All right, one more right answer for the Orange Iguanas and they're going onto the Temple Games," says Kirk. "Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes can still catch up. Next question."
Olmec now asks:
"Did Marie receive the Diamond Necklace: As a wedding gift, From her father, or??"
The girl on the Orange Iguanas buzzes in: "Wedding gift??"
"That is correct!" Olmec shouts, and the Orange Iguanas join the Blue Barracudas on the bottommost step.
"We've got our two teams!" Kirk announces as he walks up onto the second-to-last tier of steps. "The Blue Barracudas and Orange Iguanas! Purple Parrots, Silver Snakes, come over here." The Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes move a couple steps towards Kirk. "You guys gave it your all, but we have a great gift for you, and here's what it is." The Purple Parrots and the Silver Snakes will be receiving copies of Zathura on DVD.
The camera now shows Kirk with the Blue Barracudas and the Orange Iguanas next to him on the Steps of Knowledge. "These two teams will be playing for the right to enter Olmec's Temple, and they're gonna do it right after this!" The camera then turns all the way over to the Tomb of Ancient Kings and stops in front of one of the golden doors before fading to commercial.
