I have A LOT of temple runs saved to my computer, and about 15 full episodes. I am planning on expanding my full episode collection though.

(A little off topic, but T_E check your PMs. I sent you some of the temple runs that you needed).

I want to have all the Episodes, but am short on HD space. So I've got a question for all you computer whizs out there:

Considering the fact that, given that my "Golden Cup of Belshazzar episode is only 83.6 MB, episodes 1-21 of Legends would run me about 4,749.65MB. Would all of those episodes fit on a DVD-R that has a maximum storage capacity of "4.7GB"?

DVDs have a capacity of 4.7 base-1000 gigabytes, which means they can hold 4,700,000,000 bytes. However, 4,749.65 MiB, as it's seen on a computer, refers to the base-1024 system and equates to 4,980,368,998 bytes. So you won't have quite enough room.

Are your files more than approx. 256 MB ALF or somewhere along that?

Originally, my files were the same amount, but I was disappointed with the quality because it looked so dark and hard to see, so I switched from AVI to MPEG-4, which made the video a little brighter, but the consequences is that the file will become bigger to 256 MB, which applies to all 120 files.

Actually, I think it's about the contrast.

Okay, Ed!!! Thanks for the Information, as it was very enlightening. I never knew that DVD's and HD's go by a different base system.

However, I recalibrated the calculations. So Ed, just to be certain, would 4,666.52 MB fit? Also, would anybody know of any way to make it work in a DVD player as if it were a real DVD?

No. 4,666.52 MiB is 4,893,200,876 bytes. You need to compact things to something below 4,482.27 MiB.

EDIT: And just to clarify, it's the packaging that uses the base-1000 system to make it seem like there's more capacity than there is, for discs and hard drives and any other storage device. The capacity, as shown on the computer, always uses the base-1024 system.
