This is an episode of my fanfic for the new Legends called Legends: Evolved. Any problems, please go to the link stated and post.

Also, no comments until the end of the episode.

Episode 121 (3x41)px]

The camera manoeuvers through a lot of plants and stops in front of an ancient Mayan Temple. Then, a talking stone head appears and says:
LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! (The pendant logo appears and the background shows the whole temple) With your guide, KIRK FOGG! (The endant logo breaks into pieces) AND HERE HE IS NOW!!!!

Kirk swings in to the set and lands. He then says:
Thank you very much! Thank you! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost of treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend of each of the treasures of his temple. Which one are we gonna here about today?

Olmec: The Legend of the First Edition of the Tale of Genji!

Kirk: Oh, the First Edition of the Tale of Genji. Well, the legend is set, and one of these 6 teams will have a chance to retrieve the First Edition. Will it be... (The camera shows the teams up close)

The Red Jaguars?
The Blue Barracudas?
The Green Monkeys?
The Orange Iguanas?
The Purple Parrots?
The Silver Snakes?

(The camera goes back to Kirk) They'll have to pass a lot of physical and mental tests, and in the end only on team will earn the right to enter Olmec's temple. But first, they'll have to cross the Moat, and Olmec will tell us how they'll have to do it today.

Olmec: Before you lies 3 vines hanging in the Moat. When Kirk gives the signal, swing on the first vine and grab onto the second, then swing again and grab the third vine and swing across. Once the first player is safely across, their partner will do the same. If your feet touch the water, you must go back and start again. As soon as the second teammate is across, run over and hit the gong!

(Kirk hits the Silver Snake gong to demonstrate)

Olmec: The first 4 teams to hit their gong will go on to the next round.

Kirk: Alright. Teams! Are you ready?

(The teams indicate they're ready)

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?

Olmec: Let's get swinging!

Kirk: On your marks, get set GO!

"There they go swinging!"(The teams start swinging with ease except the Red Jaguars, the Green Monkeys and the Silver Snake. The first Blue Barracuda makes it, but the first Purple Parrot touched the water before making it to the third vine)

"You got to be careful you don't swing too hard." (And just when Kirk says it, the second Blue Barracuda hit the gong and the second Orange Iguana let go of the first vine and hit the water back first. Meanwhile, the first Purple Parrot made it across along with the first Red Jaguar. The first Silver Snake and Green Monkey still having trouble.)

"We got our first team and we now got our second." (Kirk says that after the second Orange Iguana hits the gong. And then, the second Red Jaguar blazed across to the other side and hit the gong. And then, the second Purple Parrot made it and hit the gong.)

Kirk: That's it. We got our 4 teams. (Kirk walks to the Purple Parrots) Nice job. Nice teamwork, you guys. Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Purple Parrots, and the Orange Iguanas, and the Blue Barracudas, and the Red Jaguars. The Silver Snakes and the Green Monkeys gave it a great effort. They're not going empty-handed. Here's what they get.

Kirk: As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the legend of the First Edition of the Tale of Genji. But teams, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to the temple.

Olmec: One of the earliest and greatest novelists of history was Murasaki Shikibu, whose real name by scholars may be Fujiwara Takako.

She was born in Kyoto in 973 and had to learn from her father because her mother died. While her father taught her kanji and classical Chinese literature, women were supposed to learn kana and poetry. Because of this, she was teased.

Murasaki's friend: I can't believe you're learning like a man! Don't you know how bad it is that I'm even next to you?

Her whole childhood she was ridiculed, but when she became an adult,  Fujiwara no Michinaga made her lady-in-waiting of the royal court by Emperor Shoshi's orders.

In her room, she secretly wrote poems and scrolls, which the Japanese women weren't supposed to write. She also wrote a novel called "The Tale of Genji", a story about Genji's life and romance.

Emperor Shoshi went into her room and saw the book and read it and was surprised.

Shoshi: You wrote this?

Murasaki: Yes.

Shoshi: You know what you just wrote?

Murasaki: I know, it's....

Murasaki knew it was bad for her to write without the Emperor's knowledge.

Shoshi: The greatest story I've ever read.

Murasaki was pleased. The emperor released to the whole of Japan and it became the first novel ever, but the first edition got stolen by a servant.

Your quest is to find the First Edition of the Tale of Genji and bring it back here!

Kirk: Thank you, Olmec. Where is this novel?

Olmec: The first edition of the Tale of Genji could be found in the Tomb of the Headless Kings.

Kirk: Alright. Teams, you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec's gonna ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're right, yoou're gonna move down to the next level, but if you're wrong, or you ran out of time, I'm gonna give the other teams a chance. The first 2 teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's temple. Olmec, we're now ready for your first question.

Kirk: These 2 teams will be playing the right to enter Olmec's temple, and they're gonna do it right after this.

(The camera pans to the Moat and the pendant logo crashes and the the show fades to break.)

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. Now, the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But first, let's meet our team players.

Kirk: On the Blue Barracudas, we have Bryan, who's into softball and is in his school team. And Jessica, she's into the guitar and wants to be a singer. Let's here it for the Blue Barracudas!

Kirk: And on the Purple Parrots, we have Thomas, who's in the debate team, but also plays tennis and soccer. And his partner Molly, she's a cheerleader and wants to be one in the NFL league. Well, let's see if you can do it. Let's hear it for the Purple Parrots!

Kirk: Why don't you guys get ready for the first game and you girls for the second. Let me tell you what's gonna happen here. In the temple games, teams are competing to win pendants of life. The winning team will need those to protect from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way to the temple. There are 3 temple games. Olmec, tell us about the first one.

Olmec: Murasaki wrote a large number of scrolls while at the palace. But she had to hide it from the guards and the emperor. Your task is to hide them away. When Kirk gives the signal, jump up, grab a scroll, and drop it in their bins. The first player to collect all scrolls (there were 12 scrolls) OR the player that collects the most scrolls in 60 seconds wins.

Kirk: They're gonna collect scrolls, so let's put 60 seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down with 60 seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!

(They jump off, and Jessica grabs the first scroll and drops it into the bin. Molly, however, keeps missing the scrolls.)

Kirk: Blue Barracudas leading, Purple might want to catch up! (0:44)

(Jessica drops her 4th scroll in the bin while Molly finally gets her first, but misses the bin dreadfully.)

Kirk: Purple has to scramble! (0:27)

(Jessica still leading as she gets her 9th scroll while Molly finally got 2 scrolls in the bin)

Kirk: 12 seconds left!

(And at that, Jessica got her 12th and last scroll)

Kirk: That's it! We're done! Let's check them out! The Blue got 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12!! They got all of them. They get the half pendant of life!

Kirk: Great job by the Blue Barracudas. Purple can catch up in the next game, it's worth a half pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: The Tale of Genji consisted of many chapters, and it took Murasaki a very long time to complete even one. Now, it's your chance to write your chapters. When, Kirk gives the signal, get onto the wheel and run to turn it. Every full rotation is one extra chapter you've written. The player who writes the most chapters in 60 seconds win!

Kirk: Let's put 60 seconds on the clock!

(The clock bangs down with 60 seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!!

(Bryan runs relatively fast, while Thomas speed too fast, he falls with 2 full rotations)

Kirk: That must hurt for Purple! (0:48)

(Bryan hasn't fallen once but Thomas constantly speeds up and falls a few seconds later)

Kirk: It's all about momentum, not speed. You better not be too fast, but not too slow either! (0:30)

(Bryan has spun the wheel 15 times while Thomas got 9 times because he just kept speeding)

Kirk: Wow! Blue's really leading now! (0:16)

(16 seconds later)

Kirk: That's it! Time's up! Let's see the scores. Blue got... an impressive 22! Purple got 16. The Blue Barracudas get a half pendant of life!

Kirk: So the Blue Barracudas have 1 pendant, Purple Parrots have none. The last game's worth a full pendant. Olmec, tell us about it.

Olmec: Even though Murasaki was writing her poems and scrolls, the Emperor had to fight off his enemies. Since Murasaki doesn't want anyone to find out about her writing, you'll help her defend the palace. When Kirk gives the signal, take a cannonball, aim at the guards, and knock them down using the slingshot. The first team to knock down all 4 guards OR the team that knocks down the most guards wins!

Kirk: They're gonna defend the scrolls, so let's put 60 seconds on the clock.

(The clock bangs down on with 60 seconds)

Kirk: On your marks, get set, GO!!

(Blue knocked down their first guard already, and so did Purple)

Kirk: Look at that! A double by the Blue Barracudas! (0:47)

(Yes, Blue hit the middle 2 guards and knocked down the last guard just seconds later, ending the game!)

Kirk: That's it! Let's check 'em out! Blue Barracudas, great job! You knocked all 4 guards! This gives them a full pendant, with a total of 2 pendants. The Blue Barracuads are going to the Temple!

Kirk: The Purple Parrots tried to inch out, but were so close. We got a great gift for them, here's what they get.

Announcer: BK RatchTeck Shoes (prize description goes on)

Kirk: We'll see if the Blue Barracudas can make it through Olmec's Temple, retrieve the First Edition of the Tale of Genji, right after this!

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends! Bryan and Jessica have proven themselves worthy and now earn the right to enter Olmec's temple. But before we get started, Olmec's gonna give them some information to help them retrieve the First Edition of the Tale of Genji.

Olmec: You could start by running up the stairs to the Crypt! Grab the book from the skeletons, and pass into the Pit of the Pendulum.  Knock over the column, and climb into the King's Storeroom! Smash the clay pots to find the key, that will lead you into the Chamber? of the Sacred Markers.  Match the symbols on the right, to those on the left, and pass into the Rooom? of the Ancient Warriors! Place yourself in the correct armor, and open the door to the SHRINE of the Silver Monkey.  Assemble the statue and you may be headed toward the Room? of the Secret Password.  Find the tablet with the correct inscription, and shout it out to open the door to the Pharaoh's Secret Passage.  Slide down the tunnel to the Quicksand Bog, where you could smash through to the Dark Forest? but beware the Temple Guards that may inhabit the treeeeees! Find the key in the tree and you'll enter? the Jester's Court! Press yourself against the correct wall painting, and you'll gain entry to the Tomb of the Headless Kiiiiiings! Pull the vines to release their bones, and attach the missing skull to its proper king! Then, race through the pit, CLIMB through the Ledges, rrrrrrace down the STAIRS and back through the Temple Gate! The choices are yours and yours ALONE! You have 2 pendants in the Temple Games. Who's going first?

Bryan: I am!

Olmec: Very well, Bryan. When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple, and make your way towards the First Edition. Hidden inside the Temple are temple guards, assigned to protect 3 specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on, BUT, if you're caught without a pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple, and it will be Jessica's turn to try her luck.

Olmec: If you reach the First Edition, all the doors in the Temple will instantly unlock and the Temple Guards will vanish! Return to the gates with the First Edtiion of the Tale of Genji in 3 minutes, and you'll be both handsomely rewarded! And here's HOW!!!

Announcer: First you'll get a bike! (prize description goes on)

Announcer: Grab the First Edition in 3 minutes and you'll also receive this sports package! (desrciption)

Announcer: If you can bring the First Edition out of the Temple before 3 minutes is up, you'll both be going to Jamaica! (description)

Kirk: Alright, great prizes! Let's see if they can get them. Get into position, Bryan. Olmec, lower your gate.

(Olmec lowers the gate)

Kirk: Put 3 minutes on the clock!

(The clock bangs down with 3 minutes)

Kirk: On your mark, get set, GO!!!!

Bryan races to the Temple and heads up to the Crypt (2:55) The 2nd book he tries opens the door to the Pit of the Pendulum. (2:53) "He knocks down the column. Will he make... Oh, he makes it back." (2:48) And he heads into the King's Storeroom. (2:45) He smashes the 1st pot and then... "Temple Guard! But he has a pendant to go on." (2:43) He smashes all pots and finds the key and the first keyhole opens the door. (2:32) A door opens into the Chamber of the Sacred Markers. (2:29) Bryan matches the markers and the door to the Room of the Ancient Warriors open. (2:16) He tries the 1st armour, but nothing. He tries the 2nd armour and... (2:06) "Temple Guard! It's time for Jessica!"

And Jessica makes it to the Room of the Ancient Warriors in 19 seconds. (1:47) The door is still locked. Jessica tries the last armour, and the door opens. (1:44) "She's in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Wow, she's grabbing all pieces!" She gets all pieces, and puts together the monkey in 10 seconds. The doors downward didn't open, so Jessica heads into the Room of the Secret Password. (1:34) She shouts out the passwords. "LONG LIVE OLMEC!" (1:30) "KLAATU BARADA NIKKTO!" (1;27) "OPEN SESAME!" (1:26) And the door opens, and Jessica slides down the Pharoah's Secret Passage and lands in the Quicksand Bog where.... (1:21) "Temple Guard comes out of the mirky fog!" She gives the pendant and busts though the wall. (1:14) She reaches into the trees in the Dark Forest, and the Stage-Right Tree has the key, which opens the door to the Jester's Court. (1:06) She immediately tries the middle painting which opens the door to the Tomb of the Headless Kings. (1:02)

"She's got the book! Now, get out!" (0:59) Jessica goes through the Pit of the Pendulum (0:55), the Ledges (0:49), up the slide and... (0:44)

Kirk: She made it! Can you believe it?!?! She got the book! She had so much time left and they did it! They got the bikes, the sports gear, they're going to Jamaica! Hope you had a great time, join us again next time for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! Bye!

(The camera pans to the Moat, the bottom floor of the Temple and the Silver Monkey while the credits roll)

Temple Run Summary

The First Edition of the Tale of Genji

In the first 40 episodes of Season 3, no Blue Barracuda team won. In the entire series, no artifact was retrieved from the bottom of the central shaft. But after this episode, both have been accomplished. What makes this episode better is that the Blue Barracudas praticallly pwned the whole episode.

Bryan was very fast and was one of the few contestants who were able to get back to the platform after knocking down the column. But, he wasn't so lucky. He met his first guard in the King's Storeroom and the key was in the 3rd pot and the 3rd keyhole opened the door. He was taken out in the 2nd armour in the Room of the Ancient Warriors, where the door to the Shrine didn't open.

Jessica was also very fast and, believe it or not, she completed the monkey in 9 seconds. And would you believe, no doors opened downwards, and she still completed the objecttives so fast and had the luckiest break in the Jester's Court. When she got the First Edition at 0:59, she blazed out of the Temple to record the win at 0:44!

Rating: 10/10

Jessica entered all 12 rooms of the Temple because of the layout.

So... fast... :shock:

Personally I think 14 seconds and slightly lower Temple Game scores (or longer game completions) would sound more reasonable, but hey. *Shrugs*

It was still a fun read, though.  The concept of continuing Season 3 rather than writing a Season 4 was a creative one.
