The camera maneuvers through a thick rainforest to stop in front of an ancient temple.  A giant stone head next to the gate of the temple begins to speak:
"LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk appears from behind the Temple Guard door in the Dungeon and runs straight out into the foreground of the stage to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple.  Which legend are we gonna hear about today?"

Olmec replies:
"The Cracked Teacup of Elizabeth Cady Stanton."

"Well the legend is set," Kirk says in response, "and one of these six teams will get a chance to retrieve the Cracked Teacup.  Will it be:
"Brett and Katherine of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order?
"R.J. and Priscilla of the Blue Barracudas,
"Brandon and Brianna of the Green Monkeys,
"Corey and Taylor of the Orange Iguanas,
"Mikey and Annie of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Chazz and Elizabeth of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass many physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they?ll have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today??
"Hey, look, the Moat's totally frozen! When I say go, one player from each team has to crawl through the holes in the boards there lying across the ice.  When they reach the other side of the Moat, then his partner will crawl through the holes to get to the other side."
"As soon as the second player crawls out onto the deck, it's his job to run over and hit the gong." He slams down on the Red Jaguars' gong to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going into the next round.  Are you ready, teams?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"It?s go time!" Olmec replies.
"All right!" Kirk says in response. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

?There they go, across the icy Moat!? shouts Kirk.  The teams take off, sending their first players to crawl through the holes in the four partitions ahead of them.  After a while, the girls on the Blue Barracudas and Green Monkeys become clear leaders of the pack, with the girl on the Purple Parrots bringing up the rear.  The first player on the Green Monkeys makes great time as she gets across.
?This takes a lot of strength, you gotta squeeze through the holes,? Kirk explains as the other girls make their ways towards the end of the Moat.  The first players on the Blue Barracudas and Silver Snakes are next to get across, followed closely by the Orange Iguanas.  When the boys start to make their way across the Moat, they overtake one another several times.
?This looks like it?s gonna be tough to call!? Kirk comments as the boys near the other side.  After some more struggling, the boy on the Blue Barracudas crawls out, gets up and goes over to hit his team?s gong. ?There?s our first team, we need three more!? The Red Jaguars? and Green Monkeys? second players bang their respective gongs almost simultaneously. ?Two! Three! We still need one more team!? One more gong sound is heard a moment later.
?And that is it! We got our four teams!? The camera cuts to Kirk standing next to the Red Jaguars and high-fiving the jumpy female player. ?Red Jaguars did a great job getting across the Moat.  Goin? on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Red Jaguars?? the camera briefly shows each qualifying team? ?and the Blue Barracudas? and the Green Monkeys? and the Silver Snakes! Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots gave it a great effort too.  We?ve got a great gift for them for playing and here?s what it is.? Corey, Mikey, Annie and Taylor will each be receiving a copy of How to Eat Fried Worms on DVD.

The four teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Legend of the Cracked Teacup of Elizabeth Cady Stanton.  Pay attention, teams, because your knowledge of the Legend can bring you a step closer to the Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the legend:
"One of the most important feminists was Elizabeth Cady Stanton.  She was a good writer and worked very hard to secure voting rights for women.  She was good friends with Susan B. Anthony, and legend has it they were at Elizabeth?s house having tea and discussing business.
" 'You?ve outdone yourself, Liz,' Susan complimented as she took a sip.
" 'Thank you.'
" 'If only men could prepare food some of the time,' Susan said.
" 'You wouldn?t want to give my husband a kettle,' laughed Elizabeth.
"Suddenly, a friend of the two women barged in.
" 'Is something wrong?' Elizabeth asked.
" 'There?s rioting up at Seneca Falls? You have to go there and help settle the women down now.'
" 'Understood,' Elizabeth replied, getting up.  As she rushed to leave the house, she knocked her teacup off the table, cracking it.  Someone later found the teacup and it made its way to the Temple.  You must find the Cracked Teacup of Elizabeth Cady Stanton and bring it back here."

"Thank you Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the legend. "So tell us, where is the Cracked Teacup?"
Olmec replies:
"The Cracked Teacup of Elizabeth Cady Stanton can be found in the Mine Shaft." The camera zooms in on the Cracked Teacup positioned on the edge of the raised platform where all the rocks are, then fades back to Kirk.

"Teams," Kirk begins, walking down the steps, "you're standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in a minute, Olmec will ask you a question.  If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on that ancient marking in front of you.  If you're right, you?ll move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance.  The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple.  Olmec, we?re ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:
?Was Elizabeth Cady Stanton a: Feminist, Mercantilist or???
Priscilla hits the marking first: ?Feminist???
?Correct,? Olmec answers.
?Nice job, Blue Barracudas, step down!? Kirk encourages, and the Blue Barracudas move down to the second step. ?Next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?Was Elizabeth Cady Stanton: British, American or Canadian??
Priscilla rings in again: ?American???
?That is correct,? Olmec replies.
?Whoo! Just like that, Blue Barracudas are now one step away from the Temple Games!? Kirk remarks as the Blue Barracudas walk down onto the penultimate step. ?Olmec, next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Which of these did Elizabeth want to get for women: Voting rights, Better jobs than men or???
For the third time in a row, Priscilla gongs in: ?Voting rights.?
?That is correct!? Olmec shouts, and the Blue Barracudas move down onto the bottom step.
?That?s quick! We got our first team going on to the Temple Games!? Kirk declares as the Blue Barracudas high-ten several times on the bottom step. ?We?ve still got plenty of time and room for one more team; will we have the Red Jaguars, the Silver Snakes or the Green Monkeys? Olmec, next question.?
Olmec continues:
?Was Elizabeth good friends with: Harriet Tubman???
Chazz buzzes in: ?Susan B. Anthony.?
?Correct.?
?Silver Snakes are on the board, but it?s still anybody?s game,? Kirk comment as the Silver Snakes move down to the second level. ?Next question.?
Olmec then asks:
?According to the legend, was Elizabeth interrupted when she was: Writing a letter, Doing laundry or???
Elizabeth cuts Olmec off: ?She was? having tea???
?That is correct,? Olmec replies, and the Silver Snakes step down a second time.
?Silver Snakes now one step away from the Temple Games!? Kirk remarks. ?Red Jaguars, Green Monkeys, they can still catch up. Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Did Elizabeth Cady Stanton and the other feminists hold meetings at: Angel Falls, Seneca Falls or Niagara Falls??
Chazz rings in again: ?Seneca Falls???
?THAT IS CORRECT!? bellows Olmec, and the Silver Snakes jump down onto the bottom step alongside the Blue Barracudas.  Kirk slips in behind the teams as the players begin to congratulate one another.
?We got our two teams right here,? Kirk announces, ?and they are the Silver Snakes and the Blue Barracudas! The rest of you, come on down here.? The Red Jaguars and Green Monkeys both move down two steps to meet with Kirk. ?You guys came up a little bit short, but you?re not going away empty-handed.  Here?s what we got for you.? Brett, Katherine, Brandon and Brianna will each be receiving Transformers: Cybertron Optimus Prime and Megatron action figures.
The camera cuts back from the prize announcement to show Kirk with the Silver Snakes and Blue Barracudas at the bottom of the Steps of Knowledge. ?These two teams will be playing for the right to enter Olmec?s Temple,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera zooms in on the Dragon?s Lair, then fades to commercial.

Kirk is standing between the two teams and in front of the Crevasse. ?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?Now of course the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let?s talk to our team players.? He turns to interview the black boy on his stage-left. ?On the Silver Snakes, we have Chazz.  How old are you??
?Thirteen,? he replies.
?I understand you?re into hip-hop, but you also want to be a shoe designer,? says Kirk. ?Tell me about that.?
?Yeah,? answers Chazz. ?Really into a lot of?? he pauses ?stuff? I like a lot of sports? basketball, football, skateboarding? and I like brands like Adidas, Nike, Reebok? I wanna make something that works and changes for any sport and I can sell it to one of those brands.?
?Sounds cool,? Kirk says, going to interview the dirty-blonde girl stage-left of Chazz. ?And Beth, how old are you??
?Thirteen,? she replies.
?And I understand you love hanging out at the mall, but you?re also good at swimming,? Kirk says. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well? I?m great in the water, I love the water,? Beth struggles to explain. ?It?s fun, I?ve been swimming for a few years.?
?I think we got a good team here,? says Kirk. ?Let?s hear it for the Silver Snakes!?
?YEAH!? Chazz and Beth high-ten as the audience applauds.
?They?re fired-up, but let?s not forget the Blue Barracudas,? Kirk comments as he turns to interview the brown-haired, slightly overweight boy on the Blue Barracudas. ?Here we have R.J.  How old are you??
?Thirteen,? he replies.
?And you play football but you?re also a drummer in a band,? Kirk reads on the index card in front of his face. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well,? says R.J., ?The band?s called Initial Reaction? We all have names like letters? This girl K.T. is our singer, we have D.C. on lead guitar, Jay on rhythm and a guy X.G. on bass.?
?Very nice.  I think I should give you guys a listen,? Kirk comments as he goes to talk to the blond girl on the far right of the screen. ?And her partner?s Priscilla.  How old are you??
?Twelve,? answers Priscilla.
?And I understand you? you like racing games.  Tell me about that.?
?Um,? Priscilla begins, ?Yeah.  I want to be a race car driver when I?m older, but I?m only twelve so? yeah.?
?Let?s see if these guys can race through the Temple Games,? Kirk comments. ?Let?s hear it for the Blue Barracudas!? R.J. and Priscilla applaud along with the audience.

?You guys ready to play?? asks Kirk.
?YEAH!? The players shout as a reply.
?All right! Go get ready for the Temple Games,? Kirk says, and the players walk offscreen. ?In the Temple Games, each team will be competing for these?" he opens a pouch and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "Pendants of Life.  The winning team will need those Pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple.  There are three Temple Games.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #1.?

Olmec begins:
?Elizabeth Cady Stanton traveled a lot to get to the places where she and Susan B. Anthony delivered their speeches, and the trip wasn?t always that easy.  Before you stands a forest which you?ll have to travel through.  When Kirk gives the signal, put the ancient rod behind your head and make your way through the forest.  Whenever you come to two trees, you must find a way to maneuver between or around them, keeping the rod behind your head and both of your hands on it.
?The first player to exit the forest? or the player that?s closest to the end after 60 seconds wins.?
The camera then segues to Kirk. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock,? he says.  A countdown clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?On your marks, get set, GO!?
The girls take off, going into the forests.  At first Beth has a bit of a lead over Priscilla, but she takes a bit of a wrong turn, forcing herself to make a tight squeeze that allows Priscilla to catch up.  Near the end, Priscilla even takes a slight lead because of some more tight squeezes Beth tries to twist herself through, making it out with 21 seconds remaining.
?All right, that?s it!? Kirk declares as the girls go over to meet with Kirk. ?Beth? I mean, Priscilla made it out first before time ended, so the Blue Barracudas get the half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds briefly. ?The next game is worth a half Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about it.?

Olmec continues:
?Unfortunately, women wouldn?t get voting rights for a long time.  When Kirk gives the signal, climb on the wheel and adjust your weight to make the wheel spin.  When it makes one full rotation, it means one year has passed.  The player who makes the most years go by in 60 seconds wins.?
The camera fades to Kirk in front of the giant wheels marked with the show?s insignia. ?It?s gonna get really dizzy out there!? he says. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.? A clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
The game is fairly one-sided from the start.  Chazz works up a good lead, only helped out by R.J. first falling off the wheel with about 40 seconds to go.
?Both players doing great,? Kirk comments. ?Gotta find the right balance and? Oh! They might fall off, but they?re both at it!? R.J. falls off a second time with sixteen seconds left. ?Blue Barracudas down, but he?s gotta recover!? The players keep going after that, but when the countdown clock hits zero, a pattern of ceiling spotlights flashes to indicate the end of the second Temple Game.
?All right! That?s it, let?s count ?em up!? Kirk announces, running back onscreen. ?Blue Barracudas got 8, but Silver Snakes got 13, giving them a half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds briefly as Chazz and R.J. high-five. ?Nice sportsmanship.  So it?s all tied up, a half Pendant apiece, we go to the third game, it?s worth a full Pendant, and it?s worth a full Pendant.  Olmec, tell us.?

Olmec narrates:
?According to legend, Elizabeth Cady Stanton also spoke out against slavery.  In this game, you and your partner are a pair of slaves who must work together to reach freedom.  When Kirk gives the signal, climb along the wall and maneuver the chain along the slot until you reach the passage marked ?Freedom?.
?The first team to reach Freedom? or the one that?s closer to Freedom after 60 seconds? wins.?
The camera shows Kirk standing in front of the two giant boards and facing the camera. ?This is for the Temple,? he reminds everyone. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.? The clock then appears in the corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
The teams climb up a bit and start heading across the top of the wall, and at first the teams are fairly close, but after some time, the Blue Barracudas develop more and more of a lead, making it through the first of the three metal loops with 43 seconds to go, just as the Snakes are reaching the first loop.
?This game is tough; it takes a lot of communication,? Kirk explains as the Silver Snakes pass through their first loop with 39 seconds remaining.  The Blue Barracudas get through their second loop at the :22 mark; the Silver Snakes make it through at :19.  After a bit more maneuvering, the Blue Barracudas make it out via the last metal loop with exactly ten seconds left, stopping the clock.
?Okay, that?s it!? Kirk announces, and the teams come to meet him as soon as possible.  Blue Barracudas made it out first, they get the full Pendant, giving them a Pendant and a half, the Silver Snakes had a half.  The Blue Barracudas are going to the Temple!? Priscilla and R.J. high-ten several times and then lock hands, while Kirk goes to talk with the Silver Snakes. ?The Silver Snakes gave it a great effort too.  We got a nice gift for them for playing and here?s what it is.? Chazz and Liz will each be receiving a $100 U.S. Savings Bond provided by Skechers.
The camera cuts back to Kirk and the Blue Barracudas, who are now free of the equipment, in front of the tall boards from the third Temple Game. ?Now we?ll see if the Blue Barracudas can make it through Olmec?s Temple and retrieve that Cracked Teacup,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera zooms in on the Cracked Teacup in the Mine Shaft, then fades to commercial.

Kirk stands in front of the Temple's stairs to the camera-right of R.J. and Priscilla. "Welcome back to Legends," he says to the camera. "Priscilla and R.J. have proven themselves worthy and now have earned the right to enter the Temple.  But first, Olmec?s gonna give them some information to help them retrieve the Cracked Teacup of Elizabeth Cady Stanton."
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Crevasse and climbing down into the Mine Shaft, where you can grab the Cracked Teacup.  Throw enough rocks into the bucket to lift the slab, then race into the Crystal Cave.  Pull down the correct icicle, and you could choose to go up into the Dragon?s Lair, or into the Junction of the Secret Shafts.  If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Switch Inferno.  Hit the right actuator to go upstairs, or plow through the wall and into the Dungeon.
?There, climb up the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage into the Geographer?s Study.  Take the correct book off the bookshelf, and put it on the pedestal in the front of the room to open the door? to the Shrine? of the Silver Monkey.  Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Knights? Barracks.  Place the sword in the correct sheath, and you could advance into the Laser Light Room.  Find the right combination to unleash the power of the laser, and run across the Bridge.  Then, pass through the Arctic Antechamber, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate.  The choices are yours and yours alone.? Olmec pauses for a second here. "You won 1 ? Pendants in the Temple Games.  Who's going first??
"I am," says Priscilla.
"Very well, Priscilla," replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Cracked Teacup.  Hidden inside the Temple are three ventilation shafts that let out in the Junction of the Secret Shafts, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms.  You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and then it'll be R.J.'s turn to enter and try his luck.  Hidden somewhere in the Temple is the other half of your Pendant.  If you can find it and you're carrying the other half, you will get an extra life.  If you can reach the Teacup, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish.  Return through the gates with the Cracked Teacup of Elizabeth Cady Stanton in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!"
?   For just getting into the Temple, they?re both going to get a set of microscopes courtesy of Tasco.
?   If they can reach the Bonnet within three minutes, they?re also going to get a Nintendo video game chair.
?   And if they can get the Bonnet out of the Temple before 3 minutes is up, they?ll both be going to the Bahamas! The Bahamas Princess Resort, on exciting Grand Bahama Island, offering tennis, swimming and international entertainment.  Fun for the whole family! "All right! Let's get 'em to the Bahamas!" Kirk says before turning to Priscilla. "Priscilla, let's get you in front.  Put your mouthpieces in. Set the clock for three minutes." The countdown clock appears onscreen. "Lower the gate, Olmec!"
Olmec groans gutturally as he lowers the gate; the blue lights under him are turned off.
"On your mark, get set, GO!"

?There goes Priscilla! Up into the Temple!? Kirk exclaims as Priscilla heads up into the Arctic Antechamber.  She runs through all three of the ice walls, sending shards everywhere as she moves on to the Bridge.  She hits the actuator to go on, and sets foot in the Laser Light Room with 2:35 remaining. ?She?s got a Pendant and a half, how far can that take her?? Priscilla kneels down in front of the metallic column in the front of the room and gets to work aligning the sections, which each light up as put into place.  When the column is fully aligned, the dome on top emits a laser beam.  Priscilla checks the doors that have opened and moves on into the Knights? Barracks with 2:10 on the clock.  She grabs the sword from on the railing in the front of the room and sticks it in the sheath in the helmet of the middle armor.  As she tries this, however, the gauntlets come to life and grab her? the armor?s possessed by a TEMPLE SPIRIT!
?Woah! Startled her for a second!? remarks Kirk as Priscilla struggles to get the Pendant in place. ?She?s gotta give up her Pendant!? After a few seconds, the gauntlets stop moving, allowing Priscilla to put her Pendant of Life around one of the wrists.  She backs out of the armor with 1:49 left, grabs the sword out of the sheath in the middle armor and sticks it in the sheath in the leftmost armor, opening the doors.  She goes on into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 1:39 to go.
?There, she?s into the Shriiiiiine of the SIIIIIIIL-ver Monkey! R.J.?s cheering her on!? Kirk announces, his hand on R.J.?s shoulder.  Priscilla grabs the parts of the statue one at a time, bringing each up to the pedestal and putting it in place before going to the back of the room for another. ?First the base? Then the middle? And now the head! Jam the head!? After Priscilla puts in the head, she realizes the torso is turned strangely.  She takes the head back out and turns the torso as needed, then jams the head down.  She looks around at the doors that have opened, and goes through the door leading down into the Switch Inferno, setting foot in the room with 1:11 to go.
?There, into the Switch Room!? Kirk tells the audience. ?Next time a Temple Guard gets her, it?ll be time for R.J.? Priscilla jumps up and hits the actuators one at a time.  She starts on the wall facing the Junction of the Secret Shafts, then moves to the back wall, and finally to the wall facing the Dungeon.  The first actuator she hits on the Switch Inferno?s left wall opens the doors, and she moves on.  She enters the Junction of the Secret Shafts with fifty seconds remaining, then races through to enter the Crystal Cave with 42 seconds left.
?She?s just one room away from the Teacup! Can she do it all?? asks Kirk.  Priscilla jumps up and pulls down the stalactites one at a time.  The one left of the ladder does nothing, but the stalactite behind the ladder, which Priscilla pulls down second, opens the door to the Mine Shaft.  Priscilla crawls through the doorway, emerging under a pre-lifted rock slab, and with 29 seconds on the clock, grabs the CRACKED TEACUP!
?She?s got the Teacup!? announces Kirk. ?All the doors are open!? Priscilla climbs up the ladder and crawls into the Crevasse.  She climbs up into the Arctic Antechamber, then runs down the stairs and makes it out with 14 seconds left!
?Meet her at the gate!? Kirk says to R.J., who runs forward to grab Priscilla as she makes it through the Temple Gate with the Cracked Teacup.  He slings his arm around her, and she meets him for a hug. ?They got it? She got it! She got the Teacup with fifteen seconds left! It was close, but she did it all by herself!? Kirk is promptly hugged by Priscilla. ?She?s excited, and let me tell ya why: They get the microscopes, they get the video game chairs? They?re going to the Bahamas! All right!? Kirk and R.J. high-five. ?This is a great team, and I wish I could stay with them, but we gotta go.  Check us out next time for more adventure and another great Legends of the Hidden Temple! The three all wave to the camera, and as the credits roll, the Shrine of the Silver Monkey is shown.  Later, Kirk, Priscilla and R.J. all join in one more group hug, where a tear of joy can be seen in the corner of each of Priscilla?s eyes.

This was a very good episode.  Good players at the Steps; it was a double sweep, and the players all sounded pretty interesting at the interviews.  The Blue Barracudas won a good match at the Temple Games, but it all came down to one player in the Temple Run.

Priscilla was a good player.  She moved at an average pace, but she knew what she was doing and was a great strategist, knowing that entering the Crevasse or the Dragon's Lair wouldn't be a good move.  But most of all, she was extremely lucky.  Priscilla went very far on her two lives; she only caught once, by a Temple Spirit in the Knights' Barracks.  Tension built up with every room; there was always a feeling she'd end up being caught and taken out, but that didn't happen.  She finally grabbed the Teacup with thirty seconds left and made it out with fourteen seconds remaining for the win.  Priscilla was pretty emotional about the win, too; it felt like she really deserved it.

This episode is the first time the Blue Barracudas beat the Silver Snakes at the Temple Games, and the first time an artifact is retrieved successfully from either half of a divided pit room (granted, this is only the second time an artifact's been hidden there).  Priscilla set a Rediscovery record for the most room objectives completed by a solo victor, at 8 (this would later be tied by Brian in "The Lost Love Letter of Jos?phine Bonaparte").  This episode also showcases the only Temple Run victory in all of Layout VIII.  Finally, Dee accidentally refers to the artifact as "the Bonnet" throughout the prize explanation.

Great episode--there was so much action and excitement, and a great Blue Barracuda victory (yay!), plus it was a genius idea to put the artifact in the divided pit room area. Awesome job, TAW!
