Geez, dude. I'm just trying to get something started. I don't have anything planned out. I just came up with this idea 5 minutes ago. I don't have some master plan written out. Maybe you can help out with this instead of just saying all my ideas will fail.
See, we could market these as fanfilms, cause in a way, these are. That's my idea. Message back, Renegade Pancake, and tell me my ideas won't work. :D

Or maybe you can realize just how big these ideas are!  Stop trying to rile people up and start THINKING of how much these ideas are really going to require.

For the record, I'm not saying I wouldn't want to see it.  I'm saying this is all too unrealistic to ever be pulled off.
If you have seen all 120 full episodes of Legends, copy and paste this into your profile for all to see.

How do people get away with making fan films of other properties?
We just do the same thing they do.

Like I've said about 8 times before, these are just IDEAS, I haven't planned them out in any way, shape, or form at all. Most of the time, I just write them on the forums as soon as I think of them so someone could help develop them. Obviously, this is not the case here (mainly due to the numerous legal constraints that hold this idea back), so just forget I came up with this idea. Let's just consider the idea of Legends being revived dead, because if something like this were to happen, it might just jump the shark within 3 weeks of it taking off.

All right everybody, let's give this new player a break.

I think you would have done better if you would have made it more clear that these ideas are really more creative theories. To actually put any of these into play would call for huge amounts of time and money that most of us don't have.

As ideas themselves, they are very creative and are fun to dream about.

But where you went wrong was asking people to actually considering contributing to these ideas. They're fun thoughts, but they aren't practical on any conceivable terms.

What you see before you is probably as big as the "Legends Revival" will ever be. I highly doubt that Legends will ever return.

We got lucky with guts and even it turned out to be a bit of a let down compared to the original version. But the only reasons Guts returned was because it had a simple design.

Legends was great because of how ambitious it was as a game show. We were lucky enough to get the 120 episodes that we did get. It was very hard to pull it off, and it would be even harder today, as Nicklegends once stated, Legends thrived heavily off of viewer imagination elements that many of today's younger viewers simply don't care to put forward while watching TV.

Now discussing the pros and cons of theories to revive Legends is understandable.

But actually considering attempting any of them is (unfortunately) immature.

Anyway, sorry everyone gave you such a hard time.

You have to know the dedication that it took to get the show up and running. Everybody would have to imagine if they would want the show to be revived, then you would really need to convince Viacom/Nick to produce the show. It would cost millions, possibly tens of millions. I don't know how a pilot would work, but I believe they want a very well-known person, like Michael Bay (eww) to remake the show. Why would they may want a person like that? Because they want the "best" and very "experienced" and people who know the elite. That's television for you. Now, I must tell you that my dream is to revive Legends in some form or another because the concept is so simple and needs no change. I don't think the show needs to be on Nick for long, rather it would be nice to see it syndication. It just seems sense to me that it could also have a run on television markets if the franchise can be popular. Money is needed to be made from television and advertising these days. We were lucky that we got Legends as the show was picked up at the last second.
Now look at what television shows they're airing on today's Nickelodeon, other cable networks like MTV, VH1, Cartoon Network, Disney, and the big television networks: NBC, CBS, ABC, FOX. Check out what they are showing these days.
If you're watching Nick, you might see an underwater talking piece of cheese with his retarded starfish of a friend and an arrogant pale-skin squid. Think of the international popularity of the show. Think of the merchandise they sell to consumers.
Watching today's MTV is like watching the reality T.V. network. They don't air music videos these days, with the exception that they air video in the morning, but you get the point.
If your TV is on Cartoon Network, you might be watching a non-animated show. Right now, you might see looking at a reality game show where kids ride roller coasters and being asked questions to win money. There's not much imagination in the concept since there's a show called 'Cash Cab'.
People also like to watch 'Are You Smarter Than A 5th Grader' because families can watch a show that the parents can get into, since the contestant is supposed to be the idiot of the show and the supposedly smart people are the 5th graders.
But don't forget about American Idol. It's such a big establishment on reality competition shows, that you might see competition shows all over the big networks. That includes The Bachelor, America's Got Talent, Survivor, The Amazing Race, America's Dance Crew, Who Gives A Shit To Give Money (a show I think people will be watching).
Today's audience, families, dumbasses, etc. who are watching T.V. now want their dramas, reality, and so on because they want the T.V. wants to connect to the viewer, like those Viagra, Cecilius, Patron, Miller Lite, and Spongebob commercials.
My point is that if you want Legends back on television, then pop culture might have to change in favoring game shows that are considered "hip" and "cool" to the "regular" and "average" viewer.

Now to end my point, I have some study material to give you so that you can understand why Legends might not come back. Here are some books, movies, documentaries, or T.V. specials:

Movies:
-The American Ruling Class-- It's a dramatic documentary-musical that is about two college graduates, both from Princeton who embark into the real world and see how the elites control money, culture, government, authority, etc. There's a segment that you should focus on where one of the characters is invited to a well-known T.V. writer, who created many popular shows.

You can watch it here. (~88 minutes)

-Frontline-- Now there a couple episodes that you can watch:

-the Persuaders

-The Merchants of Cool

-Amusing Ourselves to Death: Public Discourse in the Age of Show Business

You can add more stuff people could read, watch to give an expanded understanding from behind the scenes of television.

My god Renegade, I might be a whiny kid who wants Legends to be back on the air, but eventually it will be an ambitious reality that someone understands it's hard work, but they don't feel like they have the power, since they would be the novices of television.

Look, we have to realize that our particular fandom is ridiculously small compared to other ones.  Some, like (off the top of my head) Battlestar Galactica, various comic books, Lord of the Rings, and Twilight are massive and can maybe get things done.  We just don't have the numbers.  THAT is what I mean by twenty-some whiny kids (because that's what they'll see us as.  Trust me; being a member of the Power Rangers fandom and helping plan a convention, that's how any fandom member is viewed.)

Well, there is some element of hope that we can still have:

http://www.tvweek.com/news/2009/03/stanley_gurin_co_bring_back_sh.php

Earlier in 2009, the rights to Legends were transferred to David Stanley.  Although it is only a glimmer of hope, it's the most activity the show has had productionwise in the past five years (since Stone and Stanley broke up in 2004).

Well at least try. It's not like I'm gonna write a letter that would look like a nine year old would do.

Second'd.

It's just not going to be pulled off, IMO. We don't have a big enough fandom to do this. As much as I want to see Legends back on Nickelodeon, or Nick GaS with all its glory back again, it's not going to happen. The target audience of Nickelodeon - kids - do not want to see some 14-year old talking rock, they want their rib-tickling talking block-of-cheese-looking sponge, or their green and pink haired floating people.

Think realistically, people.

There could still be a market for Legends these days. Maybe not for today's Nick viewers, but now that the kids who grown up with it are going to college. Now I don't think Legends should be airing on Nick anymore, but..., would anyone think of another network that would pick it up? I have always thought Adult Swim could run the old show.
