Temple Guard Bloopers
« on: May 30, 2009, 08:48:36 AM »
so check this out now if you will please

i'm busy watching the episode the star of sultan saladin and in the temple run Kurt normally says that once you get the artifact the doors to the temple will magically unlock and the temple guards will vanish yet...riddle me this?

if the temple guards are supposed to vanish then my eyes must have been deceiving me cuz i could've sworn i saw a temple guard ducking in the corner of the cave of size when the girl contestant was exiting for the victory through the temple gates

tell me now...do you people here possibly know of any other such "bloopers" made by the temple guards in the temple run in any other episodes?

I'm sure there were other episodes where the Cave of Sighs guard was still there.  I think the idea was to keep him there in case Lea got taken out and Steve started in the Cave instead of the Room of the Three Gargoyles.

Kirk was mainly saying that to explain that the players wouldn't have to worry about being caught any more, but in the other rooms that would mean the guard wouldn't appear through the door in the back.  In the Cave, there was no door.  It's possible there just wasn't enough time for him to get out of there, since Lea grabbed the artifact in the Observatory and would only have to pass through two more rooms to exit.

See, in Seasons 2 and 3, guards in the Ledges could "disappear" because the Ledges' exit was above the guard's hiding place. But since the Cave of Sighs' exit is actually the temple guard hiding place, there's no place for them to "vanish".

in the episode the helmet of Genghis Khan i spotted that very same temple guard in question in the corner of cave of sighs

only difference was this time he got to come out and play cuz the frontrunner ran for the cave and ran into him

Well, like I said - there's no other place for them to "disappear" into.

I always loved the Season 3 episode (Hornpipe?) where the Temple Guard doesn't realize he can leave through the door in the Chamber of the Sacred Markers, so he just stands there sidling a wall, all "YOU CANT SEE ME RITE".

RP, i just reviewed the tape, and indeed it was the "Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain" guard in the Chamber of the Sacred Markers that was guilty of this blooper. Which beckons this question. If this episode was taped MORE THAN HALFWAY through the season (being episode #103, or the 23rd episode of the season), how the hell did the guard NOT KNOW about the exit until he was obviously told about it by somebody outside the Temple? (the assumption that someone outside the temple told him is based on the fact that the guard was OBVIOUSLY CLUELESS)

In the Imperial purple robe episode when the temple spirit grabs the frontrunner only one arm is moving and doesn't really grab the contestant it just sort of flails randomly.

YEAH, either that guard had an INCREDIBLY diminutive wingspan, or he/she must've been "caught" "asleep at the TRUNK"

It's been over 2 years since a comment was made in this topic, but I'm going to give out a possible blooper.

In The Cannonball of Galileo, right after the temple guard in The Throne Room comes out, the player tries to enter his door. If you listen carefully, the temple guard mumbles "Go up!" signaling that the door leading to The Heart Room had opened. Here's a video with the proof (skip to 1:06 and about a second later you will hear it; disregard the intro):

Quoting a user from the comments for that video, "cant believe he helped her. That temple guard probably hates his job? and is hoping to get fired."

Oh, please, it's not the only time something like that happened, and I'm sure there's nothing against it.  Wasn't Heather so shaken up in "The Stone Head of the Evil King" that the Throne Room guard had to show her the way out?
