Unfortunately, I missed a very epic moment in Nickeoldeon game show history, but what did you guys think?

Either way, you can bet I'll be watching tomorrow.

I did all my homework during lunch so it didn't ruin my viewing experience :)

Uh oh, yeah, I've done something similar, mixing up Nick and it's timeshift network. It sucks. I bet someone will post the episode on the internet (and it instantly being deleted of course). Maybe turbonick will have it soon for ya?

Interesting how it's in tournament style, but I don't like how they adopted the American Gladiators-esque "point lead = head start" aspect.

It doesn't feel like GUTS at all.  It just feels like a watered-down AG instead of a new version of GUTS.  The families don't help, and "a 69 point lead"?

Bottom line:
THIS SHOW IS JUST USING THE WORDS "GUTS" AND "AGGRO CRAG" TO GET RATINGS.

EDIT - And also, I'm _really_ uncomfortable with the Aggro Crag being the only deciding factor.

I second this. It's too american gladiators-ish in that way. Otherwise, I love it.

Well, I just finished watching half of tonight's episode, and I'm honestly not sure what my opinion is.

I do wish I would have seen the first half of the show, from the replays I saw, the City Run looked like something I could get into, I mean, what was the best part of Guts, Legends, or Double Dare? The Obstacle Courses.

I didn't care very much for the kicking game (the titles weren't too catchy either, obviously) the use of soccer balls just made it feel like a Guts wanna-be game.

But more than anything, only 3 events? How can you call something like that Guts, it just didn't feel right.

The Crag was also a bit of a let down, it was over way too quickly. The Crag is a perfect example of what's wrong with this show. We are ten years into the future of game shows from the time Guts was born. It should be bigger and better than before, Nick has the means now to really make the extreme arena into a kid-crazed Olympic zone, but instead, it pulled random remnants of its past, and this was the result, my family's got guts. The hosts even felt like they were trying too hard to emulate Mike and Mo, those accents were so forced.

Having said all of that, I can't say that it was a bad show. I mean, it's kind of sad, but the fact that we're actually watching new episodes of Guts on TV again is a feat in and of itself. To hear that theme again, and hell, just hearing the words "actuator" on Nickelodeon again was pretty cool. I mean, it might not be great, and it doesn't exactly feel like it should, but we've got Guts back on the air, that's actually pretty cool. And damn it, I guess I'll be watching again tomorrow.

So, all in all, I really think it's all just hype, we just lucked out because Nick decided it would milk its old viewers. I think My Family's Got Guts is just another Nick fad that will die out shortly, but I'm interested in seeing how long it'll run.

They don't quite have it

but either way

Guts is back.

I only got to see the them take on the Agro Crag or the Agro Crag Jr. and I was dissapointed by how short it was.  It was only a matter of seconds before the kid got to their parent and then started to climb up the wall.  But I'll also be watching the episode tomorrow.

My Family's Got GUTS really brought me back to my childhood, when I used to watch the original GUTS on Nickelodeon. So far, so good. I just hope it doesn't do to GUTS, what Double Dare 2000 did to Double Dare. Only time will tell.

My point exactly.

The Crag is the deciding factor this time around, and it's even shorter than it was back when you could win just by having the points. If the Crag is that much more important this time around, they should have made it much more difficult. They've been advertising this show as if the Crag is a new invention, and the fact that it even exists is a challenge.

Nickelodeon has not taken advantage of the advancements that have been made in the last ten years.
