The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba

An impressive solo win.  Shane managed to complete 9 room objectives, and still get the turban and get out successfully.  The only other episode that required the team to pass that many objectives was The Water Bottle (aka the Fountain of Youth) of Ponce De Leon.  Unlike that episode, this one ends in an excellent victory.  (NOTE: The third Temple Game is an ultra-rare no-time limit-first to complete the objective wins game)

The Good-Luck Watch of Empress Eugenie

The frontrunner here had average speed, and delayed a few times, especially in the Pit.  After getting taken out in the Shrine, Jay takes over and does a fairly nice job.  He gets stuck in the Jester's Court, but manages to grab the watch.  However, time runs out before he can go any further.

note: in the good luck watch of emperess eugenie

after jay tries the middle and  first  painting. a voice is somewhat audible. jay looks out to a stagehand does kind of a nod. kirk says try the middle one again and so jay tries the middle painting again before he tries the final painting and sure enough the middle one works

my thoery: the stagehand didn't set of the room so to avoid guilt of the team falling one room short. he told jay to go back and do the middle painting. maybe if he had set it of the first time jay could have gotten to the watch and made it out

Something to watch for in the 10:30 EST airing of the Good-Luck Watch episode: how horrendously the girl from the Orange Iguanas falls backwards off the fishing net during the moat round. Girl was lucky she didn't break her neck.

Seriously, though. The Moat is at most 42 inches deep. She could have easily caused major injury to herself. You know how they tell people not to dive into swimming pools?

1st Green Monkeys
2nd Silver Snakes
3rd Purple Parrots
4th Red Jaguars

1st Green Monkeys
2nd Purple Parrots

The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba - Solid Moat, kinda simple, but still good. Legend was good. Steps of Knowledge good. Silver Snakes early lead, Green Monkeys beat them, Purple Parrots come from behind & beat them haha. Red Jaguars got a question in there somewhere haha. Temple Games, pretty good. Temple Games. Kirk doesn't know which goes first, guys or girls. Guys do. First Temple Game, they had to use the 2 ropes to climb to the top. Also used in the layout 3 episode "The Two-Cornered Hat of Napoleon" Purple Parrots knock over a turban, Green Monkeys get one. Purple gets one. Purple gets two. Green Monkeys get two. Purple Parrots almost get three, but drop it right outside of the bucket, oh dear. So the first Temple Game is a 2-2 tie. Second Temple Game, they have to "shimme up the backbone" of the camel, basically crawl up a slighly slanted log, leading to a head at the top. Spin the head & run back down. They do this over & over while the camel spits at them & their feet can't touch the ground whlie going up. Purple gets a lead, but touches the ground. They soon come back & get 1 spin. Green Monkeys get 1 spin shorly after. Purple Parrots get 2 spins with 24 seconds left. Purple Parrots get 3 spins with 9 seconds left. Time runs out as both are lunging for a spin, but missing. "If they had this much water goinga cross the Sahara, they'd be in good shape". Haha, Kirk... Purple Parrots beat Green Monkeys 3-1. So Purple Parrots have a full Pendant, Green Monkeys have a half a Pendant. Third Temple Game, they have to climb up the "minaret" & palce the dome at the top. Basically ,they have to climb up a tower of inflatable "ancient Babylonion tubes", as referred to in the season 4 Moats they're used in. At the top, they have to put on this hat thing that they were carrying the whole time. The hat is huge. It's not timed, because it's hard. Purlpe Parrots have a great lead, but they can't figure out how they'll lift up the huge cap. Green Monkeys catch up. Both are flailing the hats & it seems like the usual Temple Games music is gonna have to start over sono, because it's getting into phases we've never seen. Eventually, the Green Monkeys get the cap on, lift their hands in the air (they had to do that also, didn't mention that) & win. Final score is Purple 1, Green 1.5 Green Monkeys go to the Temple. Yet another Purple Parrots loss, but at least the Green Monkeys "avenged them". Temple Run is amazing! Shane was amazing. Throug the lEdges with 2:49, compelted the Rock Quarry & headed into the Laser Light Room with 2:34, almost taking the ? Pendant. He startled for a little bit, maybe up into Medusa?s Lair, but eventually heads into the Swamp with 2:15. TEMPLE GUARD!!!!! Yaya, he has a Pendant :D Into the Dark Forest with 2:03. Well he couldn?t get rhough the net. So through the wall & going up into the Lightning  Ball Room with 1:34. He plugs in the four power cords (only done in this episode & in the Two-Cornered Hat of Napoleon) & heads into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 1:18 left. He grabs the base immediately & gets the middle & head same time. Into the King?s Storeroom with 0:46. Second pot had key, second hole opened the door. Grabs the Very Tall Turban with 0:30 left, races across the Troubled Bridge, almost going into Medusa?s Lair, through the Crypt, & victory with 0:15 left! As you can see, Shane has an ?obsession? with Medusa?s Lair haha. Though he startled at points, & got the middle part of the monkey messed up, victory nonetheless.

The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba -
Moat was ok. Steps were good (Purple Parrots come from behind and answer 3 questions in a row). Temple games were very close. I'm so upset with that Purple team. They HAD the third temple game. It was the one where they had to climb to the top of those innertube towers and put the onion dome on the top. The Purple Parrots were at the top of the tower for forever! They just couldn't get hte dome on and the Green came from behind. Shane of the Green Monkeys goes into the temple first. He goes down the Ledges, through the rock quarry, almost takes the hidden half pendant off of the Laser Light-Rock Quarry actuator. He finds the white laser and goes into the Swamp where he meets a temple gaurd. Then, Shane has trouble getting into the Dark Forest and the temple gaurd like walks over to him... weird... Anyways, Shane busts through the wall and takes the elavator to the Lightning Ball Room and puts the power cords in (one of two times this room objective is completed). He sorta has trouble with the monkey, but gets it done, goes into the King's Storeroom and finds the key. After all of that, he finally gets to the Observatory and he grabs the Very Tall Turban (which wasn't very tall at all). He's out of the temple shortly after. Congrats.

NOTE: I compare this episode to "The Leopard-Skin Cloak of Annie Oakley" a lot because the only differences are that the artifact location (then again, it was just different rooms, but both in the central shaft) and the Cloak was a harder layout because of the Jester's Court replacing the Swamp.  Chandra of the Cloak episode actually made better time than shane did even though they took the same pathes through the temple. However, when a temple gaurd snatched her up a room away from the Cloak, it meant that this team had lost. Shane had better luck with the temple gaurds and was able to pull off a solo win. It's just dumb luck i suppose.

Also, The Ivory Elephant of Shaherazade (wow, spelling?) is in Medusa's Lair when they show the turban in the Observatory.

The Good Luck Watch of Empress Eugenie -
I happen to like this episode a lot even if it is a miserable Purple Parrots defeat in the temple games. The moat crossing was VERY excting i thought. The Orange Iguana girl's fall was spectacular, rofl. Temple time. Janeen goes in first and she seems very hesitant... almost petrified... She's not moving at a very fast pace either. Eventually she makes it to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey where she cowers in fear when her second temple gaurd emerges. Jay runs in a seems to be making up time. He completes the monkey and the only door that opens is the Dark Forest passage (that doesn't happen often... does it?) So he goes through the Dark Forest and into the Jester's Court. Some weird stuff happens in there. You can hear a voice and Jay looks out of the temple.... someone was telling him to try the middle painting which he already tried. Kirk then shouted out loud for him to try the middle one again. Time is running low but he finally gets the the Tomb of the Headless Kings where the watch is. He grabs it but cannot exit the room before time runs out. Good job.

NOTE:.... no notes! :P

The Good-Luck Watch of Empress Eugenie -

1st Red Jaguars
2nd Blue Barraucdas
3rd Purple Parrots
4th Green Monkeys

1st Green Monkeys
2nd Purple Parrots

Good Moat, Orange Iguanas girl did almost break her neck haha. HAHA, priceless. Purple Parrots guy had a spill also. Good Legend, more interesting. Close Steps of Knowledge. Tie on the second step. Green Monkeys vs. Purple Parrots Temple Games. D?j? vu? First Temple Game, they had to stay on that horse. Purple falls about 10 seconds in. & 20 seconds in. & 30 seconds in. But 45 seconds, not 40 haha. So Janeen (Green Monkeys) got 4 points, should?ve been 5, Courtney fell at the end. Courtney (Purple Parrots) got 0 points. Second Temple Game, they have to crawl on that Olmec circle thing. They?re spinning, they?re falling, you get it. Final score: Jay (Green Monkeys) 11 rotations. Nate (Purple Parrots) 7 rotations. So it?s Green 1, Purple 0. Final Temple Game, they gotta use the cannonballs to throw over the chute & your partner will catch it. Pulling a Sforza with kickballs. They?re catching, they?re missing, etc. Final score: Green Monkeys: 7 cannonballs. Purple Parrots: 5 cannonballs. Green Monkeys got a sweet, 2-0. Janeen did pretty good, she went Crypt-Pit-Storeroom & got in the King?s Storeroom with 2:16 left. TEMPLE GUARD! Molestor??? Third pot, third hole. Third book in the Crypt. Mr. Temple Guard frazzled her, Kirk comments. Shrine of the Silver Monkey, taken out with 1:29 left. Jay is going really fast. He assembles the monkey pretty fast & goes down into the Dark Forest with 0:48 left. He grabs the key & goes into the Jester?s Court with 0:33. Second painting, not working. First painting, not working. Goes to the third, but goes back to the middle one, which opens it. Goes into the Tomb of the Headless Kings with 0:08 left, grabs the Good-Luck Watch with 0:04 left & the door opens when time runs out.

The Golden Cricket Cage of Khan

Worst. Run. Ever.  Neither player knew what they were doing, and stalled through all 4 (yes, four) rooms they traversed.  These numbskulls don't even make EYE contact with the artifact!  A classic episode, for all the wrong reasons.

The Dried Ear of Corn of Sojourner Truth

Average temple loss here.  Kirk refers to the frontrunner as "Fast Eddie", which he was... until he encounters his first Guard.  In fact, if the players hadn't gotten so distracted by those Temple Guards, this might've been a win.  So, Eddie is taken out in the Room of the Ancient Warriors, where Tess took over, and encountered many of the same problems other players had.  Her biggest problem was in the Forest.  She became horribly confused, and it only got worse when a Temple Spirit emerged.  She eventually makes it to the Jester's Court and the corn, but by the time she lays her hands on it, time has run out, making this officially a one-prize loss.

If memory serves me correctly, the temple games that were used during the dried ear of corn episode were the same as the lost whalebone of Pythias, except instead of barnacles, fish and anchors, there were scrolls, loaves of bread and bags of loot.  The Dried Ear of Corn Episode was taped about the same day as the Lost Whalebone of Pythias, or so I believe.

The Golden Cricket Cage of Khan:
-Ugh! What an awful episode. These kids were by far the dumbest in Legends history. They top Kim from John Henry's Lost Hammer, Damian from The Lost Whalebone of Pythias, and that girl from The Keys to the Alhambra. At least she almost made it to the artifact, and tried accessing the Shrine. Even my eight and nine year old cousins who were watching the episode with me thought they were dumb.

The Dried Ear of Corn of Sojourner Truth:
-It wasn't a success, but it was a lot better than the other Dried food item episode this season. As juan833blue said, this came from the same taping as The Lost Whalebone of Pythias. Not too much to say, except that if the players had not been distracted by the guards, this could have been a successful run.
