« on: October 22, 2006, 02:10:10 PM »
*the camera zooms in on an ancient lush jungle, the palms are moving away as an elephant is heard. all the palms are gone, showing Olmec*

Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple. With your guide? Kirk Fogg!

*Kirk is shown walking down the steps of the Temple*

Olmec: And here he is now.

Kirk: Thank you everyone. Nice to see you. Hello Olmec, nice to see you. Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today?

Olmec: The Legend of Monopoly?s Lost Tokens.

Kirk: Alright, Monopoly?s Lost Tokens! Well the Legend is set, and one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Lost Tokens. Will it be *camera zooms into each team as they cheer & the usual* The Red Jaguars? The Blue Barracudas? The Green Monkeys? The Orange Iguanas? The Purple Parrots? Or the Silver Snakes? They?re going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests, and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec?s temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and Olmec will tell us how they?ll have to do it today.

Olmec: Before you lies a raft in the moat. When Kirk gives the signal, the first player will swim as fast as they can to the other side. Once the first player is across, their partner must pull on the rope to bring the raft back. Then it will be there turn to swim across. Once the second player is on the other side, they must run over and hit the gong. *Kirk bangs the Silver Snakes? gong*. The first four teams to hit their gong will go on to the next round.

Kirk: Okay, teams are you ready?!

*the teams cheer*

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?!

Olmec: Lets Rock!

Kirk: On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

(Event occurs)

Kirk: That was really fast. All four of them blazed across the moat. Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes! (applause) The Purple Parrots! (applause) The Orange Iguanas! (applause) And the Green Monkeys! (applause) Red Jaguars and Blue Barracudas were quick, but not quick enough to advance. We got some nice prize for them, and here's what it is.

Kirk: As the quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about Monopoly?s Lost Tokens. Guys, your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec's Temple. So pay close attention.

Olmec: One the greatest board games world-wide is game Monopoly. Created in 1904 by Lizzie Magie, it was first called The Landlords Game. Later in early 1930s, George and Charles Parker, founders of the game company called Parker Brothers, bought all rights to the game and changed it to Monopoly. Legend has it that the brothers had a tough time deciding which tokens to use for the board game.

George: ?Lets see we have a battleship, a horse and rider, a bottle cap, a thimble, a watch, a dog, an iron, a top hat, a car, and a shoe.?

Charles: ?That?s a little too much. We need to get rid of two.?

George: ?Do you have an idea how to do that??

Charles: ?Lets draw lots, and the first eight we choose will be used in the game.?

Olmec: One by one, George and Charles drew, until all eight were chosen.

George: ?Alright, it?s settled. Theses are the eight we?ll use in Monopoly.?

Charles: ?Such a shame for the bottle cap and the watch. They would have been a great use in the game.?

Olmec: Soon, Monopoly was shipped all over America, and then the world. As for the two tokens that weren?t chosen, they were lost never to be found again?until today. Your task is to retrieve Monopoly?s Lost Tokens and bring them back here.

Kirk: Thank you Olmec. Can you tell us where the they are?

*Camera shows the tokens, and zooms out to show its location*

Olmec: Monopoly?s Lost Tokens can be found in the Silver Bell Sanctuary.

Kirk: Teams, you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about the legend you just herd. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you?re right, you?ll move down to the next level. If you?re wrong or run out of time, I?m going to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec?s Temple. (To Olmec) Olmec, we are now ready for your first question.

Olmec: What was Monopoly originally called: The Rich Game, The Land?

(The Orange Iguanas ring in.)

Orange Iguanas: The Landlords Game.

Olmec: That is correct.

(The Orange Iguanas move down to the second step.)

Olmec: That is correct.

Olmec: That is correct.

(The Orange Iguanas move down to the third step.)

Olmec: Monopoly was bought by Parker Brothers in the: 1920s, 1930s, or 1970s

(The Orange Iguanas ring in.)

ORANGE IGUANAS: 1930s.

Olmec: That is correct.

(The Orange Iguanas reach the bottom step.)

Kirk: The Orange Iguanas are heading for the temple games! One down and one to go. (To Olmec) Olmec, we?re ready for your next question.

Olmec: Which two were not chosen?

(The Green Monkeys ring in.)

Green Monkeys: The bottle cap and the watch.

Olmec: That is correct.

(The Green Monkeys move down to the second step.)

Olmec: What is the maximum number?

(The Purple Parrots ring in.)

Purple Parrots: Oh?6?

Olmec: That is not one of our three choices. The three choices are: 2, 4, or 8?

(The Silver Snakes ring in)

Silver Snakes: 8.

Olmec: That is correct.

(The Silver Snakes move down to the third step.)

Olmec: How much money does a player start of with in Monopoly: $500, $1000, or $1500?

(The Silver Snakes ring in.)

Silver Snakes: $1500.

Olmec: That is correct.

(The Silver Snakes reach the bottom step.)

Kirk: We got our two team for the Temple Games. They are the Orange Iguanas, and the Silver Snakes. Purple Parrots and Green Monkeys it a great effort, and they are not going home empty handed. We got a prize for both of them, and here it is.

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends! Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. But before we get started, let?s get to know our team players. On the Orange Iguanas, we have Max. He is on a baseball team and can speak Spanish. And his partner Rose plays big sports fan of volleyball. Let?s hear it for the Orange Iguanas!

*Applause*

Kirk: And on the Silver Snakes, we have Will. He likes to go skiing and is a comic book collector. And his partner Jill is a active bike rider who wants to participate in the Boston Marathon. Let?s hear it for the Silver Snakes!

*Applause*

Kirk: Ok teams, go set up for your games, and I?ll tell you what?s going to happen. (To audience) In the temple games, teams are competing to win Pendants of Life. They need those pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games. (To Olmec) Olmec, tell us about temple game number one.

Olmec: In Monopoly, if you pass Go, you?ll collect $200. Today, if you pass Go, you?ll will get a .5 pendant. When Kirk gives the signal, jump as far as you can to reach Go. Be careful, if you land on Go to Jail, you must wait for 5 seconds before jumping again. The first player to land on or pass Go, or the one that is closer to Go after 60 seconds wins.

Kirk: Lets get going! Put 60 seconds on the clock? On Your Marks?Get Set?GO!!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: We have a winner! Even though Rose landed on Go to Jail twice, her third jump landed on Go. So the Orange Iguanas get the .5 Pendant of Life. (Applause) The next game is also worth a .5 pendant. (To Olmec) Olmec what is the next game?

Olmec: The two most expensive properties on the Monopoly board are Park Place and Boardwalk. Its time to find out if your lucky enough to get these two. When Kirk gives the signal, craw underneath, pop through a hole and grab the property name you got there. If it?s one of the two properties, bring it back and place it on your property shelf. Then go find the next property. It you find a different property, go to the next hole and swap it with another property. The first player to find Park Place and Boardwalk, or the one that is further along at the end of 60 seconds wins.

Kirk: There popular, yet very expensive. Put 60 seconds on the clock? On Your Marks?Get Set?GO!!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: That?s it! It didn?t take Max that, in fact the first two holes made him the winner. So the Orange Iguanas get the .5 Pendant of Life. (Applause) The Orange Iguanas has one pendant and the Silver Snakes has none, but the final game is worth a full pendant. (To Olmec) Olmec, tells us about the last game?

Olmec: There are four railroads in Monopoly: Reading, Pennsylvania, B&O, and Shot Line. Today, you will try and capture these four. When Kirk gives the signal, the player on the ground will grab a train and toss it to their partner. Catch the train, then fly toward one of the train stations,  and drop it in. Then fly back and get another. The first team to have a train on all 4 train stations, or the one that is further after 60 seconds wins.

Kirk: Either the Orange Iguanas will go to the Temple or the Silver Snakes will tie it up. Lets put 60 seconds on the clock? On Your Marks?Get Set?GO!!

(Event Occurs)

Kirk: Its Over! The Silver Snakes captured all 4 stations, so they get the full Pendant of Life. (applause) We now have a tie with one pendant apiece, so well go to a tie-breaking question. Let's bring out the tie-breaking pedestal.

(Pedestal brought out)

Kirk: Okay, hers how it works: Olmec will read you one more question. If you buzz-in and get it right, then your team will enter Olmec's Temple searching for Monopoly?s Lost Tokens. But, if you buzz-in and get it wrong or run out of time, your opponents will get a chance to answer. Olmec, give us the last question.

Olmec: In Monopoly, what color were the Chance Cards: red, yellow, or green?

(Silver Snakes buzzed in)

Kirk: Silver Snakes .

Will: Red.

Olmec: That is?Correct!

(Applause)

Kirk: The Silver Snakes  are going to the Temple!! Excellent job by both teams. Orange Iguanas, great effort but the Silver Snakes were quicker on the draw. We have a great gift for you and here it is.

*$50 gift card from Blockbuster Videos*

Kirk: *only Silver Snakes are present* The Silver Snakes came from behind for the victory. Now lets see if they can get through Olmec's Temple and retrieve Monopoly?s Lost Tokens right after this.

Kirk: Welcome back to Legends. The Silver Snakes have proven themselves worthy, and now have earned the right to enter Olmec?s Temple. But before they get started, Olmec is going to give them some information so they can retrieve Monopoly?s Lost Tokens with no problems.

Olmec: You could start by going into the Ledges, and climbing down into the Pit. Once there you must choose your next path. You could enter the Harp Room. Pluck the correct harp string to head down into the Room of the Headless Kings. Pull the vines to release their bones, and attach the missing skull to its proper king, so you can enter the swamp. If you escape, you maybe headed into Dracula?s Layer. Spin the dial to turn night into day, but be careful a Temple Guard maybe inside the coffin. If he is, you must give up a pendant. Or you can smash into the Cargo Hold. Ride the elevator up into the Silver Bell Sanctuary, where you can grab the Lost Tokens. Ring the correct bell to enter the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue to head into the Alphabet Room. Put the words in alphabetical order and shout out the last word to gain access into the Bee Hive. Pull the correct bee from its hive so you can enter and cross the Walk of Faith. Then enter the Room of the Bronze Gongs, race down the stairs and back through the temple gate. The choices are yours and yours alone! You won one pendant in the temple games. Who?s going first?

Will: I AM!!

Olmec: Very well Will. When Kirk gives the signal, you?ll race through the gates into the temple and make your way towards the Lost Tokens. Hidden inside the temple are Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on, BUT if you?re caught without a pendant, you?ll be taken out of the temple, and it will be Jill?s turn to enter and try her luck. If you can reach the Tokens, all the doors of the temple will instantly unlock, and the temple guards will vanish. Return through the gates with Monopoly?s Lost Tokens in 3 minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded?and here?s how!

*Going into the Temple= a bike*
*Reaching the Lost Tokens within 3 minutes= Nintendo Wii Package*
*Making it out of the temple with the Tokens within 3 minutes= a Trip to the Bahamas*

Kirk: I really want to send them to the Bahamas, but with only one pendant it won't be an easy task. Will, get the mouth pieces in and get into position. Lets put 3 minutes on the clock. (To Olmec) Olmec, lower your gate please.

*Olmec hums and lowers the Gate*

Kirk: On Your Marks?Get Set?GO!!

Name of Artifact: Monopoly?s Lost Tokens
Result: Made it!
Time Left: 0:12
Team: Silver Snakes
Pendants won: 1
Location of Artifact: Silver Bell Sanctuary

(Will slid down into the Ledges, but the only door open was to the Room of the Bronzed Gongs.)

(From there, he banged on the gongs, walked across the Walk of Fate and entered the Harp Room 2:30 left.)

(It wasn?t long till Will met his first Temple Guard. He was phased for 7 seconds, then he plucked the correct string with 2:17 to go.)

(He went up to the Bee Hive, but the remembers seeing the door to the Alphabet room open. So he climbs back down and goes there with 1:50 on the clock.)

(Will was able to put the words ?Boastful?, ?Blue?, and ?Barracudas? in order, but was captured by a Temple Guard before he could say 'Boastful?)

Kirk: Run Jill!

(Following his path, Jill said the word and entered the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.)

(With 1:10 left on the clock, she quickly assembled the monkey, headed down into the Cargo Hold. She Rode the Elevator up and grabbed the Tokens with 0:57 left)

(She dashed through the rooms, took her time real slowly on the Walk of Fate, and made it out of the Temple with 0:12 seconds to spare.)

Kirk: SHE DID IT!! Alright  Jill!! They got through the Temple, and here are Monopoly?s Lost Tokens for all to see. They won it all: the bike, the Nintendo Wii Package, and there going to Bahamas. Congratulations, Silver Snakes. We're out of time for today. We?ll see you later for another great Legend of the Hidden Temple. Bye-Bye!
