Here's my first entry for Season 5. Hope you guys like it.

Legends of the Hidden Temple
Lost Season 5, Episode 6
The Poisonous Cake of Rasputin

The camera traverses its way through several plants to simulate a thick rainforest. It eventually makes its way to a large stone head. Its eyes light up and it begins to speak.

OLMECpx]The Moat:[/b]
OLMEC:
Before you, lying in the moat are floating volcanic rocks. Some are fastened to the ground beneath the water and can support your weight. Others will sink when stepped on. When Kirk gives the signal you and your partner must pick a rock and step on it. If it supports your weight, pick another and move on. If it sinks, both of you must go back to the start. When both teammates reach the other side, run over and hit the gong. (Kirk hits gong for clarification) The first four teams to hit their gong will go on to the next round.

KIRK:
It?s time to sink or swim. Teams are you ready? (wait for response) Olmec, are you ready?

OLMEC:
Let?s rock.

KIRK:
All right, on your marks. Get set. GO!

The Legend:
KIRK:
As your quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about the Poisonous Cake of Rasputin. But pay attention guys, your knowledge may bring you a step closer to Olmec?s Temple.

OLMEC:
Near the end of the Tsarist rule of Russia, an evil adviser by the name of Rasputin served as an aide to Tsar Nicholas II. Many people believe that he had the power to not only heal the Tsar?s illnesses, but also was able to hypnotize him into obedience. His actions earned him the nickname ?The Mad Monk.? Other advisors to the Tsar became suspicious of his deeds.

YUSUPOV:
Pavlovich! I suspect that Rasputin is a witch. We must burn him.

PAVLOVICH:
How do you know he is a witch, Yusupov?

YUSUPOV:
He turned me into a newt!

PAVLOVICH:
A newt?

YUSUPOV:
? I got better. OK, maybe he didn?t. But how do you explain his curing of the Tsar?s son?s hemophilia? Or how he somehow convinced the country to enter the World War?

PAVLOVICH:
You?re right. Those can?t be coincidences. We must get rid of him before he takes over all of Russia. Let?s meet at your house tonight, and we?ll get him.

OLMEC:
That night, Yusupov prepared a piece of cake and a bottle of wine laced with enough cyanide to kill ten men. He ate half the cake, and drank most of the wine, but didn?t die.

YUSUPOV:
He?s still alive! That?s impossible!

PAVLOVICH:
He is a witch! Enough of this secrecy; just shoot him.

OLMEC:
Yusupov shot Rasputin in the back, and watched him fall to the floor.

YUSUPOV:
And now, I shall incautiously walk over to the surely deceased body to check his pulse, positive that he is in fact dead.

OLMEC:
Rasputin grabbed Yusupov by the throat and threw him to the other side of the room, acting as if nothing had happened. Before Rasputin could flee the room, Pavlovich fired three more shots into Rasputin?s back. Rasputin was wounded, but still alive. The two men proceeded to beat Rasputin with fireplace pokers. Assured he was now dead, they wrapped him in a blanket and threw him into the icy Neva River. Days later, coroners found the body with his arms reaching above his head. An autopsy was performed, and the cause of death was found to be drowning. He was not only alive when dumped in the river, but he would have survived had the top not been frozen.

PAVLOVICH
Well, that was scary, but at least he?s dead. Nothing bad will ever happen to the Tsar Nicholas II again. Nosiree?

OLMEC:
The Cake Rasputin never finished eating was saved as a reminder of the horrible evening, and it has found its way into the temple. Your quest is to find it and bring it back here.

KIRK:
Thank you, Olmec. Tell us, where is this poisoned cake?

OLMEC:
The Poisoned Cake of Rasputin can be found in The Dungeon.

The Steps of Knowledge:
KIRK:
Teams, you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you?re first, your step will light up and you can answer the question. If you?re correct, you?re going to move down to the next step. If you?re wrong or run out of time, I?m going to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level (Kirk descends steps for emphasis) will be one step closer to Olmec?s Temple. Let?s get started. Olmec; first question.

Temple Games:

KIRK:
Welcome back to Legends. Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest. Before we get to the temple games, let?s meet the contestants. (Reads individual player profiles). Why don?t you guys go get ready for the Temple Games. I?ll tell everyone what?s about to happen here. In the temple games, each team is competing to win Pendants of Life. They?ll need those pendants to protect them from the dreaded temple guards as they make their way through the temple. There are three temple games. Olmec, tell us about game number one.

TEMPLE GAME 1:

OLMEC:
Rasputin displayed an impressive ability to avoid death. So much so, that it took four different methods to finally kill him. In the rubble before you lies the four methods it took to kill him; poisoning, shooting, beating, and drowning. When Kirk gives the signal, dive into the rubble and find the first word. When you find the first word, bring it back here. Then dive back in and find the next. The first player to find all four words, or whoever finds the most at the end of sixty seconds wins.

KIRK:
Let?s put sixty seconds on the clock. On your marks. Get set. Go.

TEMPLE GAME 2:

KIRK:
The next game is worth a half pendant of life as well, and the other team can catch up. Olmec, tell us about it.

OLMEC:
When two aides to the Tsar discovered that Rasputin was hypnotizing the Tsar, they set out to eliminate him. After several failed attempts, they dumped him off a bridge into the Neva River. When Kirk gives the signal, make your way through the maze. When you reach the top, throw the dummy of Rasputin into the river below. Whoever throws the dummy first, or whoever has made the most progress at the end of sixty seconds wins.

KIRK:
Let?s get ready and put sixty seconds on the clock. On your marks. Get set. Go!

TEMPLE GAME 3:

KIRK:
This next game is worth a whole Pendant of Life. Head on over there guys and get ready for it while Olmec tells us about it.

OLMEC:
When the body of Rasputin was found, the Russian newspapers displayed the headline ?????? ?????,? which means, ?Mother Russia is Free Again.? These words have been printed on a placard. When Kirk gives the signal, grab the placard in front of you, and begin to climb the staircase. The first team to get up all three steps with the placard, and have it resting on the easel wins.

KIRK:
No time limit on this one, guys. So work fast and get up there. Ready? On your marks. Get set. Go!

The Temple Run:

KIRK:
Welcome back. The ______ are have proven themselves worthy and they have earned the right to enter Olmec?s temple. But before you go, Olmec will give us some information to help retrieve The Poisonous Cake of Rasputin.

OLMEC:
You could start by running up the stairs to The Crypt. Grab the books from the skeletons and pass into The Spider?s Web. Maneuver through the webbing, and you could climb up into The Viper?s Nest. Open the jars and pull out the snakes, and you could go down into The Necromancer?s Retreat. Pull the veil from the wall to show the pattern, and then use the cards on the table to copy the pattern. When the arrangements match, the doors will open, and you can pass into The Armory of the Ninja. Place the swords into the correct sheaths, and open the door to The Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Assemble the statue, and you may be headed toward The Shawnee Lodge. Place the pillars into the holes to create the teepee, and open the door to The Pharaoh?s Secret Passage. Climb down the tunnel to The Dungeon where you could smash through the wall and into The Metallurgist?s Forge. One of the various items will open the doors when put onto the skeleton. When it?s put on, you may enter The Den of Tribal Masks. Align the masks in the center of the room, and you?ll gain entry into The Dragon?s Lair. Open the dragons? mouths to find the tongue, and pull. Then, race through the Spider?s Web, climb through The Aqueducts, race down the stairs, and back through The Temple Gate. The choices are yours and yours alone.

You won ____ pendants in the temple games. Who?s going first? (wait for response) Very well, _____, when Kirk gives the signal, you?ll race through the gate into the temple and make your way towards the poisoned cake. Hidden inside the temple are temple guards assigned to protect three specific rooms. You can trade your pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you?re caught without a pendant, you?ll be taken out of the temple and it will be ____?s turn to enter and try his/her luck. Somewhere inside the temple is the other half of your pendant. If you find it and are carrying the other half, you?ll receive an extra life. If you can reach the artifact, all the doors in the temple will instantly unlock, and the temple guards will vanish. Return through the gates with the cake within three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded. And here?s how: (reads prizes).

KIRK:
Sounds like some nice prizes, let?s see if we can?t get you them. Mouthpieces in. Olmec, can you please lower your gate? (Wait for gate to lower). Let?s put three minutes on the clock. On your mark. Get set. Go!

Temple Run Summary:
First of all, I?d just like to say how creepy and weird this episode was. The legend seemed more appropriate for a horror film not a kid?s game show. That being said, I appreciate the writer?s ability to sneak such a dark legend past the TV ratings board. Kudos.

Anyways, concerning the episode. Milo was a decent player throughout the whole episode. He was fairly quick at the moat, and smart at the steps. He also excelled during the Temple Games. However, his partner, Betty, just seemed lethargic, as if she had chronic fatigue. Milo apparently compensated by going into the temple first, sliding through the Aqueducts and up the Spider?s Web, signaling the other half pendant to his partner at the Viper?s Den entrance. He made it to the Armory before meeting his first guard, and was taken out in the Shrine. Betty fought to make up time with the minute and twenty seconds she had remaining, picking up the extra half-pendant along the way. She got to the Shrine, and started assembling the monkey, but time expired just before she could get the head on. Too bad.

Temple Trivia: The moat crossing seemed to be an almost exact rip-off of ?Sinkers and Floaters? from MXC. The male Red Jaguar ripped his shirt during the first Temple Game. When Olmec asked ?Who?s going first?,? Milo pointed at himself and said ?Me.? Betty can be seen yawning while the camera follows Milo up the temple stairs.

Episode Fanfic written by Adam ?Carveyfan? Jaspering. Episode Summary format and Temple Diagram in the style of NickLegends.
