The "Puke in the Pit" theory
« on: May 27, 2014, 09:43:32 PM »
I'm still confused by this. :?  I'm leaning toward either Missy or Tarrah. I'm ruling out what YouTubers think in Christina because I'm putting the key theory here. It could've been Missy because she was nervous all day, or Tarrah because of editing and her jumping right over the pit... that failed.

I definitely don't think it was Missy. She didn't seem dehydrated and she was full of energy, nervous energy, but energy nonetheless. I feel like throwing up in the middle of a temple run, especially when you're 12-15 years old, would really suck the life out of you.

I am surprised more contestants didn't have sickness problems before reaching the temple. If you read their interviews, each of them had really long production days to sit through. I am not surprised if some of them were sick to their stomach before entering the temple.

As for the mysterious puker, it had to be from S2. According to Kirk, the contestant puked in the Pit and they had to clear all of the balls out to clean it up. This means that it couldn't be any of the S2L3 episodes because they used the Rock Quarry when the Pit was cleared. It was also a female runner that puked, so you can exclude the male only runs. I figured that the female contestant in question puked at the bottom of the Pit, so any runs where the high route was taken can be excluded too. (Like Ashlie from Dolley Madison using the rope). Here are the runs that are possible:

- Butch Cassidy
- Grandy Nanny
- Golden Stallion
- Nathan Hale
- Blackfeet Chief
- Dr. Livingstone
- Captain John Smith
- Stone Head
- Cracked Crown
- Empress Theodora
- Johnny Appleseed
- Emiliano Zapata
- Benjamin Franklin
- Annie Taylor
- Annie Oakley
- Billy the Kid
- Henry Morgan
- Freydis
- Golden Pepperoni
- Nostradamus

These are all of the runs where a female player entered the bottom of the pit. As for my guess, I think it was Tarrah from Freydis. We get that unusual cut in the Pit before she enters the Laser Light Room. I don't think it was Nathan Hale because Kirk said they had to stop the run to clean the Pit. That makes it sound like they continued the run again after they cleaned up. Unless Christina was so sick that they had to postpone the Nathan Hale run for a later time?

They did have long days but they were hardly longer than your average school day, plus, they were hanging out at Nickelodeon and being on Legends, most of them were probably stoked, especially once they got to the temple. That said, I could see a few people being the bad kind of nervous. Tarrah makes the most sense given the weird edit job.

I honestly think it was Missy. Nervous all day long, very emotional, and Kirk has said in interviews the person started crying and THEN puked in the Pit. It could've happened after Missy grabbed the pillow.

I tried my best to grab a good image from Tarrah's run with my iPad.

But if you pay close attention as Tarrah exits the pit, it looks like the pit is actually empty as she makes her way into the crawl tube.

That would mean they had stopped the run, taken the balls and padding out of the temple to clean, and just let Tarrah finish exiting the temple as she was bound to win anyway.

Possibly, it could've happened after Tarrah made that leap across the Pit. But then again, same thing could've happened with nervous Missy. The puking incident could've happened after the said artifacts were reached. Tarrah is a possibility, but saying she jumped across the Pit "to avoid the spot where she puked" is reading too much into it. Which is something that was claimed in the past.

Oh no! I don't think she tried to jump across to avoid the spot where she puked. I think she puked after she slammed her body into the wall on the other side and landed in the pit.

Tarrah deserves more respect than she gets right now. What a trooper! Whether she puked in the Pit or not.

I know, I DID say "Someone else brought that up once." ;) But yeah, Tarrah is a trooper, period. And like I said, Tarrah or Missy (whoever it was) could've puked in the Pit after grabbing the artifact. I still think it might've been Missy though. Due to how emotional and nervous she was all episode. Tarrah really didn't seem that nervous at all.

She didn't, but I don't think it was nerves that did it to her, I think it was the jolt she took from slamming into the wall the way she did, and then falling into the Pit backwards. If she hit herself the wrong way it could have been like a gut punch and that could have caused it.

Didn't someone theorize the Emiliano Zapata run was retaped from the Observatory because Olivia-Emma puked in the Pit? Only because of the weird editing when Olivia-Emma runs up into the Observatory.

No, that was Renegade duping us into thinking the run was retaped and rigged just to get a one second win. Someone also once thought Aqila was the one who puked in the Pit. Due to awkward editing when she went back for the half pendant, and the stagehands in the Pit during the credits.

I just checked Freydis, and there were still balls in the pit after she fell into it.

Okay, and what about the spot near the Laser Light Room door? Can anyone get a shot of some missing balls in that section of the Pit?

I didn't see any missing balls in that area. And there doesn't seem to be any editing when she falls besides the camera change. When the camera changes, Tarrah is still in the same position, and the milk bucket is as well, so I don't think she threw up when she fell.
