Not legit enough to make the playoffs. The ceiling for them this year is 6-10.

This. They do not have the experience and talent yet to make the playoffs. But they definitely won't be a pushover team this year. Some teams definitely can't write them off as a win on their schedule. But I hope they have some success this year. These last few years have been painful for them.

I feel so bad for those perpetually bad teams. It has to be so heartbreaking for those fan bases.

At least the Buccaneers, Jets, Raiders, and Rams have won at least one Super Bowl.

And all of those teams except the Browns, Jaguars, Lions, and Texans have been to one.

And the Lions and Browns were DOMINANT in the pre-Super Bowl era.

So, really, really, really sorry Jaguar and Texans fans!!

I definitely disagree with the Raiders and Rams. Raiders may have been bad this past decade, but they are a storied franchise with an intense rivalry with each of their division rivals. If you ask any AFC West fan who their least favorite team is, they will probably answer the Raiders. Not to mention, they also have 3 SB victories. And they even went to the SB in 2002. If they get included, so should Dallas who only has 1 playoff win since the 90's.

Rams are another storied franchise too. Just like the Raiders, they were pretty dominant before the division realignment. They won the SB in 1999 with the "Great Show on Turf" and almost beat New England again in 2001. They definitely don't belong in the same tier as the Browns and Jaguars.

I do agree with the Bucs though. I mean their inaugural season, they went 0-14 to start it off. And then went 0-19 overall until they got their next win the following season. Other than their SB victory, there is nothing special about them whatsoever. But I feel if the Bucs get included, so should the Saints. They haven't been anything special until Brees joined the team.

And I still kind of give the Texans a free pass. They are only a 12 year old team going into this season. And they have found some success too for a couple of seasons. Maybe they will regain it again this season? ;)

Well, Miami had the Perfect Season in only their 6th year existence. Plus Houston has had the worst team in 2005 & last season. There is no excuse. The old Oilers (now Titans) didn't do much either.

At least we can agree that those poor old Jaguars are probably the worst franchise in NFL history thus far. I do hope they can get it turned around at some point. It's better for everyone when there is a mix of dominant teams and teams on the rise. You need dynasties and greatness to help make it special, but it's nice when a new team rises to the occasion and dethrones the goliaths

They're either worst or near there, hence the reason why I call them Dumbassville.  I would've gone Cleveland or Detroit worse since they haven't done Bullshit.

Anyway, I did rank teams on who the true America's Team is... and it's not the obvious one

1. Steelers (They won 6 Lombardi's plus two against Dallas, the so called "America's Team")
T-2nd: Cowboys, 49ers (Dallas had to be up here though, because of the Landry era & the 90's dynasty, but the Niners need to be with them though because they are almost alike in history, plus they had two of the best players during the 80's, Montana & Rice)
T-4th: Giants, Packers (The G-men have their fair share of history with two good coaches helping them to two Superbowls each, plus they got a lot of popularity from 42 & being in the largest market. The Packers obviously MUST be a top 5, this is one of the most storied franchise's in sports. In Green Bay, Lambeau is more than a Field, Lombardi is more than a trophy, they were the icons of the franchise. However the reason why they're not #1 is because they weren't well for 20 years until Favre came along. After 16 seasons, Rodgers took the role and became the star in Green Bay)
T-6th: Patriots, Raiders, Redskins (Oh look, I think you knew the Patriots were going to be high  . Winning 3 out of 4 Super Bowls is hard to do, and only Dallas is the other team that has done that. You have to admit, Brady & Belichek made this franchise relevant and really good. The Raiders might not be good now, but they were in the late 70's, early 80's so they should be ranked high. Even though the Redskins haven't fared well either, they still rank high among the teams with good history, although two Super Bowls were won in strike shortened years, and the other was by Mark Rypien (who?))
T-9th: Broncos, Colts, Dolphins, Ravens (Not going to define each team, but they've ups (Elway, Manning, Perfect Year, Dominent D) and some downs (5 Super Bowl loses, 36 year gap until they finally won, No Super Bowls with Marino, Ray Rice domestic abuse)
T-13th: Bears, Buccaneers, Chiefs, Jets, Rams, Saints, Seahawks (These teams had that one shining year and that's it. Even though the Bears were really good in the pre-Super Bowl era, they only had success in 85.
T-20th: Bengals, Bills, Browns, Cardinals, Chargers, Eagles, Falcons, Jaguars, Lions, Panthers, Texans, Titans, Vikings (These teams don't know what the Lombardi Trophy is because they don't have one, you could put the teams in as jokes)

The sad part about the Jags is that they had some really good teams this past decade, but never got a chance to win their division because of Peyton Manning and the Colts. They also went 14-2 one year and loss the AFCCG. Both of their losses in the regular season was to the Titans and they loss to them again in the AFCCG. :o

And good list, GM1. ;) I would probably put Denver in the same tier as the Redskins since they have had both successful stretches and laughable ones. Even though the Broncos have 5 SB losses now.

I would also put the Vikings, Bills, and Eagles in the same tier as the Saints and Bucs. While these teams have no SB wins, they are still pretty storied franchises that have strong rivalries with teams in their division and conference. I mean the Bucs only had a few good seasons and the Saints have only become elite recently. In the Vikings and Bills case, they even went to the Super Bowl four times.

But you are spot on with Pittsburgh being at the top.

I did not know that the Jags only lost to Tennessee during the regular season, I only remembered them losing in the AFC Championship.

Speaking of which, if if wasn't for the Music City Miracle, Jacksonville could be celebrating with a Super Bowl victory. Since they killed Miami 62-7, they would've brushed by Indy (I believe that's who Tennessee beat originally) and possibly have beaten St. Louis in the Super Bowl. However then again, 34 wouldn't have been a great Super Bowl.

Nope, they beat my Bills in the Music City Miracle game (payback for the Comeback game in 1993, perhaps?). And they haven't sniffed the playoffs since. :(

In the divisional. Music City Miracle was Wild Card.

We're trying to see what happens if Music City Miracle doesn't happen.

Man, 1999 was an intense year for the playoffs!

- Music City Miracle game between the Bills and Titans.
- Jaguars drop 62 points on Miami.
- Jaguars lose to the Titans in the AFCCG game after going 14-2. And their two losses came from the Titans during the regular season.
- "One Yard Short" play in the Super Bowl where the Titans were one yard short of tying the game against the Rams.

The NFL Playoffs are almost always guaranteed to be pretty good. Not always as WILD as 1999, but nonetheless.

And how about last year's Super Bowl. I don't even think the most die hard Seahawks fans in existence could have predicted that!

The Super Bowl was a big letdown for non Seattle fans. But I am glad that the Seahawks pulled through and got their first SB victory in dominating fashion! No offense to PP319's Steelers, but Seattle should've beaten them too. :P

They will definitely be Super Bowl favorites for the NFC this year. Either them or the Saints.

Less than 2 weeks before the very first regular season game! (Packers @ Seahawks on TNF)
