Legends: The Rediscovery

Episode 67px]

The camera maneuvers through a thick rainforest to stop in front of an ancient temple.  A giant stone head next to the gate of the temple begins to speak:
"LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk appears from behind the Temple Guard door in the Dungeon and runs straight out into the foreground of the stage to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple.  Which legend are we gonna hear about today?"

Olmec replies:
"The Legend of the Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador."

"Ooh, the Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador!" says Kirk in response. "Well, one of these six teams will get a chance to retrieve that Priceless Treasure.  Will it be:
"Nick and Emily of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order?
"Zack and Michelle of the Blue Barracudas,
"Logan and Melissa of the Green Monkeys,
"Joey and Emma of the Orange Iguanas,
"Pat and Kassandra of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Sean and Angela of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass many physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they?ll have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today??
"Oh, and the Moat's frozen solid! So when I say go, one player from each team will crawl through the holes in those boards laying over the ice.  When he reaches the other side, then his partner will crawl through the holes to get to the other side."
"As soon as the second player reaches the other side of the Moat, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He slams down on the Red Jaguars' gong to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going into the next round.  Are we ready?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Se?or Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"?Adelante, amigos!" Olmec replies.
"All right!" Kirk laughs his response. "Teams: on your marks, get set, GO!"

As soon as Kirk shouts ?Go,? the female players on each team launch into the frozen Moat and start to crawl through the holes in the four partitions ahead of them.  The girls all make fair time, but the Red Jaguar and Blue Barracuda are going for the fourth partition while the others are just approaching the third.  They make it to the other side almost simultaneously, while the other teams? first players are still getting through the fourth hole.
?It?s tough,? Kirk comments as the Green Monkeys and Purple Parrots each get a player across, ?but can they snake their way to the Moat?? The male Red Jaguar is headed for the fourth partition and the male Blue Barracuda going through the third while the boys on the other teams are crawling through their second holes.  Most of the players are getting through their third partitions when the boy on the Red Jaguars finishes up and goes to ring his team?s gong.
?There, there?s one team!? announces Kirk. ?We just need three more!? After a while longer, the boy on the Blue Barracudas makes it out and goes to ring the Blue Barracudas gong. ?We still need two more teams, who?s it gonna be? It looks it?s gonna be real close, tough to call!? At this point, the other four team players are all approaching the fourth partitions.  The boy on the Orange Iguanas gets through next and goes for his gong.  As he bangs his team?s gong, both the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes get out of their last holes.  They both run over, but only one of the two gongs lights up.
?That?s it!? Kirk announces, and the camera shows him standing with the Red Jaguars around their lit gong. ?Whoo, that was really close, tough to call all the way through! But the Red Jaguars made it out first, and they?re goin? on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Blue Barracudas?? the camera briefly shows each qualifying team? ?and the Orange Iguanas? and the Silver Snakes! Green Monkeys and Purple Parrots came up just a little bit short, they gave it a great effort.  We got a great gift for them for playing, and here?s what they get.? Logan, Melissa, Pat and Kassandra will each be receiving an Armitron watch.

Rediscovery EP: The Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador
« Reply #1 on: August 14, 2009, 07:42:18 PM »
The four teams are now in front of a thin arch made of wood, and are standing at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about that Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador.  But pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the Legend can bring you one step closer to Olmec's Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the legend:
"One of the most fearless explorers in history was Hern?n Cort?s.  He was a young sailor, and quite dashing and determined.  He was a Spaniard commissioned by Diego Vel?zquez de Cu?llar, the governor of Cuba, to sail out to Mexico.
" '?No problema!' Hern?n declared, and off he went.  First, Hern?n sailed from Cuba to the Yucat?n Peninsula.  Along the way, he found a woman named Lady Marina and swooped her up.  Legend has it she was an Aztec princess sold into Mayan slavery, but Lady Marina was willing to help Hern?n as his interpreter.
" 'Anything for jou, se?or,' she said, in love at first sight.
"Hern?n?s exploration continued up the coast, until finally he marched inland.  He founded Veracruz, allied with the Tlaxcala people, caused a few massacres along the way and finally reached the Aztec capital at Tenochtitlan, collecting a massive amount of gold along the way.  Emperor Montezuma accepted Hern?n, but the Aztecs didn?t, so Hern?n gathered his troops and fought back.
" 'Jou?ve made an estupid mistake!' Hern?n declared as he rushed into battle.  In the end, the Aztecs were defeated and Tenochtitlan fell to the ground.  Hern?n Cort?s was known as a conquistador for taking over the Aztec Empire, but when he died, his treasure chest full of gold made its way to the Temple.  Your goal is to find the Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador and bring it back here."

"Thank you Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the legend. "Olmec, where is that Treasure Chest?"
Olmec replies:
"The Priceless Treasure can be found in the Geographer?s Study." The camera zooms in on a gold treasure box on the camera-right pedestal in the front of the Geographer?s Study, then fades back to Kirk.

"Teams," Kirk begins, walking down the steps, "you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in a minute, Olmec will ask you a question.  If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you.  If you're right, you're gonna move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance to answer.  The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple.  Olmec, we're now ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:
?Did Hern?n Cort?s conquer the: Incas, Azt???
Michelle hits the marking first: ?Aztecs.?
?Correct,? answers Olmec.
?Nice job, Blue Barracudas, step down!? Kirk remarks, and the Blue Barracudas move down to the second level. ?Next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?Was the Aztec Empire in???
Nick cuts Olmec off this time: ?Mexico.?
?Correct.?
?Red Jaguars, step down!? says Kirk, and the Red Jaguars hop down onto the second step next to the Blue Barracudas. ?Olmec, next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Was Hern?n a: Spaniard, Frenchman or???
Michelle rings in again: ?A Spaniard???
?That is correct,? answers Olmec, and the Blue Barracudas move down to the third step.
?Blue Barracudas now just one step away from the Ste? I mean, the Temple Games,? says Kirk. ?Remember, we?re looking for two teams.  Olmec, next question.?
Olmec then asks:
?Did Hern?n first set sail from: Spain, Cuba or Guatem???
Joey gongs in early: ?Spain???
?Incorrect,? Olmec answers. ?The three choices are??
Emily interrupts Olmec: ?Cuba???
?That is correct.?
?Red Jaguars now just one step away from the Temple Games,? Kirk explains. ?The other teams can still catch up.  Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Which of these peninsulas did Hern?n stop at along the way: Florida, Yucat?n or Kamch???
Emma buzzes in: ?Yuck-a-tan???
??Correct.?
?Silver Snakes can still get into this,? Kirk declares as the Orange Iguanas step down. ?This match is heating up.  Next question, Olmec.?
Olmec?s next question is:
?Hern?n eventually reached the capital of the Aztec Empire.  Was the capital named: Quetzalcoatl, Popocatepetl or Tenochtitlan??
Nobody tries to get this one; a bell sounds after a few seconds. ?Time?s up! The correct answer was: Tenochtitlan.?
?All right, next question,? says Kirk.
Olmec continues:
?Was the Aztec Emperor???
Joey stomps down and guesses: ?Montezuma???
?That is correct.?
?Silver Snakes still looking to score,? Kirk explains as the Orange Iguanas join the Red Jaguars and Blue Barracudas on the penultimate step. ?Let?s keep going.?
Olmec does so by asking:
?In our legend, Hern?n found an interpreter along the way.  Was her name: Lady Melissa, Lady Marina or???
Joey cuts Olmec off again: ?Lady Marina???
?That is correct!? shouts Olmec, and the Orange Iguanas hop down onto the bottom step.
?They came from behind, and now we have our first team going on to the Temple Games!? announces Kirk. ?It?s the Orange Iguanas! We?re still looking for one more team, who?s it gonna be? Next question.?
Olmec continues:
?According to our legend, by birth, was Lady Marina: An Aztec princess, A Mayan slave???
A stomp from Sean interrupts him: ?Princess of the Aztecs???
?Correct.?
?Can the Silver Snakes come from behind?? Kirk asks as the Silver Snakes set foot on the second level. ?Let?s see.  Olmec, next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?Was Hern?n?s trip commissioned by: Diego Vel?zquez de Cu?llar, Gonzalo Jim?nez de Que???
Sean interrupts Olmec again: ?Diego Queller???
?That is correct,? Olmec replies, and the Silver Snakes move down to the next-to-last step.
?It?s a three-way tie on the second-to-last step!? remarks Kirk. ?This next question might decide it.  Olmec, we?re ready for the next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Which of these Mexican states did Hern?n Cort?s found during his conquest: Sonora, Aguascalientes or Veracruz??
After a moment of hesitation, Sean gongs in for the third time: ?Veracruz???
?THAT IS CORRECT!? bellows Olmec, and the Silver Snakes skirt around the Orange Iguanas to get to the bottom level.  The teams make way as Kirk walks up the middle of the step and turns to face the camera once he?s behind them.
?That?s it! We got our two teams, they came from behind!? Kirk announces. ?The Silver Snakes and the Orange Iguanas! The Red Jaguars and the Blue Barracudas gave it a great effort too.  We got a nice gift for them for playing and here?s what it is.? Nick, Emily, Michelle and Zack will each be receiving a copy of The Ant Bully on DVD.
The camera cuts back to Kirk, the Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes at the bottom of the Steps of Knowledge. ?These two teams will be playing for the right to enter Olmec?s Temple,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera zooms in on the suits of armor in the Knights? Barracks, then fades to commercial.

Rediscovery EP: The Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador
« Reply #2 on: August 14, 2009, 08:00:29 PM »
The camera segues from a close-up on a gecko on the side of the Dragon?s Lair to Kirk standing in front of the Mine Shaft between the Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes. ?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let?s talk to our team players.? He turns to interview the freckled brunette just stage-left of him. ?On the Orange Iguanas, we have Emma.  How old are you??
?Twelve,? she replies.
?And I understand you?re into swimming, diving and windsurfing,? Kirk reads on the index card in his hand. ?Anything with the water??
?Yeah,? answers Emma.
?What?s your favorite?? asks Kirk.
?Um? Windsurfing? ?cause it?s nice to be? out on the ocean rather than in a pool,? Emma replies.
?All right, very nice,? Kirk comments as he goes to interview the blond boy on the far left of the screen. ?And Joey, how old are you??
?Twelve,? he says in response.
?And I understand you like soccer and you?re interested in learning about foreign cultures,? Kirk reads on his index card. ?Which one?s your favorite to learn about??
?Well,? Joey explains, ?I like reading about Asia? Thailand in particular sounds nice.  Really cool stuff.?
?Wonder if that could come in handy here,? says Kirk. ?Let?s hear it for the Orange Iguanas!? Joey and Emma applaud along with the audience as Kirk turns to interview the blond girl just right of center screen. ?And on the Silver Snakes, we have? ?AHN-guh-luh,? right??
Angela nods.
?How old are you, Angela??
?Eleven,? she replies.
?And it says here you like to play volleyball but you?re also a rower,? Kirk says. ?Tell me about that.?
?Um?? Angela starts to reply. ?I row on a river? ze Neckar River? from time to time? in a boat for four.  I?m closest to? um? ze bow?? I?fe rowet for? about a year.?
?Ah, nice,? Kirk says as he goes to interview the short-haired boy on the far right of the screen. ?And Sean, how old are you??
?Thirteen.?
?And I hear you wanna be a DJ,? Kirk reads. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well, I like a lot of hip-hop and techno music,? Sean explains, ?and I kinda wanna go figure out how to get into that with the? record scratching???
?Sounds like a worldly team here,? Kirk comments. ?Let?s hear it for the Silver Snakes!? The audience applauds again.

?You guys ready to play?? asks Kirk.
?YEAH!? The players shout as an answer.
?Okay then, why don?t you go get ready for the Temple Games,? Kirk says, and the players walk offscreen in different directions. ?I'll explain what's going on here.  In the Temple Games, each team is competing to win?" he opens a pouch and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "Pendants of Life.  The winning team will need those Pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple.  There are three Temple Games.  Olmec, tell us about the first one.?

Olmec begins:
?Hern?n Cort?s and his soldiers had a long march inland to get to the Aztec capital.  When Kirk gives the signal, climb on the wheel and adjust your weight to make the wheel spin.  When it makes one full rotation, it means you have traveled one mile toward the capital.  The player who travels the most miles toward the Aztec capital at Tenochtitlan in 60 seconds wins.?
The camera fades to Kirk standing in front of the giant wheels marked with the show?s insignia. ?They got a long journey ahead of them,? he says. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.? A clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
Emma and Angela take off and the wheels start rotating.  Emma runs a bit faster than Angela, but she falls off for the first time with 34 seconds to go; however, Angela falls off the first time moments later.
?This game?s tough! You gotta align your weight with the wheel and not fall off!? Kirk explains.  After her first spill, Emma slows down a bit to avoid falling again, allowing Angela to catch up and eventually take the lead.  Both players then stay on for the rest of the game; when time runs out, a pattern of ceiling spotlights flashes to indicate the end of the game.
?All right, time?s up!? Kirk says, running over to read the spotters? scoreboards. ?Orange Iguanas got 8 miles, but Silver Snakes got 9! Silver Snakes get a half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds for a second, then Kirk goes to interview Emma. ?Oh? It was so close,? he says. ?Tell me what happened.?
?Umm? I don?t know,? Emma explains. ?Slowed down.?
?Well, no problem,? says Kirk. ?You can catch up in the next Temple Game, it?s worth a half Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #2.?

Olmec continues:
?Hern?n Cort?s and his men had to take down a number of opposing forces.  Thankfully for you, in this game, you will only need to take down four Aztec soldiers.  When Kirk gives the signal, lob a cannonball at one of the soldiers on the wall.  Then, load another cannonball into your slingshot and shoot again.
?The first player to knock down all four soldiers ? or the player that?s knocked over the most soldiers in 60 seconds? wins.?
?All right, time to go to war for our players here,? Kirk comments. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.? The clock then appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?And let me get outta the way? Don?t wanna be hit by a cannonball.? He jogs offscreen to the right. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
Sean of the Silver Snakes gets incredibly lucky and knocks over the first target on his first try, but it takes Joey until the :52 mark to score.  Joey knocks down the second-leftmost target with 47 seconds remaining, though, taking the lead.  At :31, both players knock down an extra target.
?Just one more and the Orange Iguanas win this!? Kirk comments. Sean knocks down his third target with 18 seconds left, once again evening the score. ?Whoever gets it wins it!? Finally, with ten seconds left, Sean knocks over the final target.
?And that?s it!? Kirk announces, reappearing onscreen. ?Silver Snakes got all four before time ended, giving them another half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds briefly. ?Sean, how did you do that??
?I dunno, just got lucky,? Sean replied.
?Well, the score is Silver Snakes have a full Pendant, Orange Iguanas don?t have any yet,? says Kirk, ?but the next game is worth a full Pendant.  It?s the third and final game.  Olmec, tell us.?

Olmec narrates:
?Hern?n conquered much of Mexico for Spain, but he had to do this one step at a time.  On the wall above you are the names of four major locations that, according to our legend, Hern?n marched through: Yucat?n, Veracruz, Tlaxcala and Tenochtitlan.  When Kirk gives the signal, load the slingshot and fire a ball, and your partner will catch the ball and stick it on the first location.  Once you?ve covered an area, it means it has been added to the Spanish Empire, and you can climb up and try to add the next area into the empire.
?The first team to incorporate all four area into the empire? or the team that?s built the largest empire in 60 seconds? wins.?
?This is for the Temple,? Kirk explains. ?Orange Iguanas need this to tie it up.  Let?s put those 60 seconds on the clock.? The clock then appears onscreen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
Emma and Angela fire the first balls at their partners, and Joey covers Yucat?n for the Orange Iguanas after only nine seconds.  Sean covers it for the Silver Snakes with :44 left and moves up to Veracruz after Joey.  The Iguanas cover Veracruz with 35 seconds to go, however.
?Orange Iguanas blazing, all the way up to Ta-lax-a-luh!? Kirk remarks, but the Silver Snakes move on to Tlaxcala as well right at the halfway mark.  The Orange Iguanas cover Tlaxcala with 22 seconds left, and Joey starts climbing to Tenochtitlan. ?All right, they got Task-alla! Just gotta get Trench-ta-lawn to win and make the tiebreaker!? The Snakes cover Tlaxcala with 18 seconds left. ?Silver Snakes are scramblin?! Can they make it?? Both girls have trouble firing that high up, but with just a few seconds left, Angela shoots a ball that Sean can catch and stick to Tenochtitlan.  Time runs out two seconds later, but no spotlights flash.
?All right! That?s it!? Kirk announces, reappearing onscreen. ?Silver Snakes got all four first, that gives them the full Pendant, giving them two? they?re going to the Temple!? Angela jumps up and down in excitement as the boys climb down the walls, and Kirk goes to talk with the Orange Iguanas. ?Tough game, guys.  What happened??
?I? uh? couldn?t shoot that high,? Emma admits.
?Well, you guys gave it a great effort,? Kirk comments. ?We got a great gift for you for playing and here?s what it is.? Joey and Emma will each be receiving a backpack provided by Eastpak.
The camera cuts away from the consolation prize to show Kirk with the Silver Snakes in front of the tall board for the third Temple Game. ?Now we?ll see if the Silver Snakes can make it through Olmec?s Temple and retrieve that Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera zooms in on the skeleton in the Dungeon, then fades to commercial.

Rediscovery EP: The Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador
« Reply #3 on: August 14, 2009, 08:45:46 PM »
Kirk stands in front of the Temple's stairs next to Sean and Angela. "Welcome back," he says to the camera. "The Silver Snakes have proven themselves worthy and earned the right to enter Olmec?s Temple.  But first, Olmec?s going to give them some information to help them retrieve the Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador."
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Crevasse and climbing down into the Mine Shaft.  Throw enough rocks into the bucket to lift the slab, then race into the Crystal Cave.  Pull down the correct icicle, and you could choose to go up into the Dragon?s Lair, or into the Junction of the Secret Shafts.  If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Switch Inferno.  Hit the right actuator to go upstairs, or plow through the wall and into the Abandoned Cave.
?There, climb up the ladder into the Geographer?s Study, where you can grab the Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador.  Take the correct book off the bookshelf, and put it on the pedestal in the front of the room to open the door to the SHRIIIIINE of the Silver Monkey! Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Knights? Barracks.  Place the sword in the correct sheath, but be careful? one of the suits of armor could be possessed by the spirit of a Temple Guard! If they grab you, you'll have to give up a Pendant of Life! Next, race up to the Laser Light Room, find the right combination to unleash the power of the laser, and run across the Bridge.  Then, pass through the Room of Temple Gongs, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate.  The choices are yours and yours alone.? Olmec pauses for a second here. "You won 2 Pendants in the Temple Games.  Who's going first??
"I am," says Angela.
"Very well, Angela!" replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Priceless Treasure.  Hidden inside the Temple are three ventilation shafts that let out in the Junction of the Secret Shafts, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms.  You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and then it'll be Sean?s turn to enter and try his luck.  If you can reach the Priceless Treasure, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish.  Return through the gates with the Priceless Treasure in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!"
?   For just getting into the Temple, they?re both going to get camping gear provided by Outdoor Products.
?   If they can grab the Treasure within three minutes, they?re also going to get Compton?s Interactive Encyclopedia on CD-ROM, by Compton?s New Media.
?   And if they can get the Treasure out of the Temple before 3 minutes is up, they?ll both be going to Krystal Cancun! Krystal Cancun, the resort for beach lovers, with excursions to Mayan ruins.  It?s rich in history and rich in pleasure.  Krystal Cancun, for a prize package totaling $12,896!

"Time to see if we can send these guys to Mexico," Kirk says before turning to Sean. "So, what's your strategy?"
"Well," he explains, "we're just gonna go all the way across the top, get the Treasure Chest and get back out as fast as we can."
"All right," replies Kirk. "Well then, let?s get you into position, Angela.  Set the clock for three minutes." The clock then appears onscreen. "Put your mouthpieces in.  Olmec, lower your gate!"
Olmec groans gutturally as he lowers the gate; the blue lights under him are turned off.
"On your mark, get set, GO!"

?There goes Angela! She?s got two Pendants!? Kirk announces as Angela goes up into the Arctic Antechamber.  She runs through the ice walls around the room in order, then goes into the Bridge and across into the Laser Light Room with 2:37 left.  She kneels down in the front of the room and starts to align the sections of the laser-dome-topped metallic column.  She puts the last section of the column in its proper position with 2:18 remaining, and the dome lights up as the door into the Dragon?s Lair opens.  Angela starts down the stairs to the Knights? Barracks, but the locked door prevents her, so she doubles back, climbs down into the Dragon?s Lair and meets the first TEMPLE GUARD!
?Oh, Temple Guard!? Kirk remarks as Angela is startled by the guard. ?Give ?em the Pendant and you can go on, Angela!? Angela hands over her Pendant of Life to the guard with 2:06 remaining and goes to put the horns in the dragon head in the back of the room.  She grabs the horns one at a time and puts them in the proper slots in the head.  When the fourth one goes in with 1:46 on the clock, the mystic pattern on the walls lights up violet and a roar can be heard.  Angela moves on through the open door into the Knights? Barracks and picks up the sword on the front railing after a second. ?This is a tough team, they won all three Temple Games!?
?Go Angela!? calls Sean from the sidelines.
?Now she?s just gotta get two rooms to the Treasure!? comments Kirk as Angela tries the sheaths in order.  The rightmost one doesn?t open the doors, but the middle sheath is the correct one.  Angela goes on into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey and reaches for the pieces of the statue, but out jumps the second TEMPLE GUARD!
?Oh, go Sean! One minute twenty-eight seconds!? Kirk shouts out as Angela is taken out and Sean launches into the Temple.  He follows his partner?s path all the way to the Shrine, setting foot in the room with 1:02 to go. ?He?s into the Room of the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, where he?s one room away from the Priceless Treasure Chest of the Conquistador!? Sean grabs the base and middle of the statue first, then goes back to grab the head once the first two pieces are in place.  He jams the head in with 43 seconds left, but while the doors leading into the Switch Inferno and the Dungeon open, the door directly into the Geographer?s Study doesn?t.  So, Sean climbs down into the Dungeon, where he meets the final TEMPLE GUARD!
?There, give ?em the Pendant!? says Kirk. ?Just gotta climb up to the Treasure Map!? Sean drops his Pendant of Life for the guard to pick up, then goes to the other side of the room, using the ladder to get onto the mouth of the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage (0:34).  He climbs up the slide, opens the door for the Geographer?s Study, goes in with 23 seconds remaining and grabs the PRICELESS TREASURE!
?He?s got it!? shouts Kirk. ?All the doors are open! It?s gonna be close!? Sean races back through the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, Knights? Barracks and Laser Light Room (0:12). ?Up into the Laser? Down into the Dragon Room!? Sean climbs down into the Dragon?s Lair, then climbs down one more ladder to enter the Crystal Cave. ?He?s going down! Time?s running down!? Sean tries to go into the rock-slab-covered door into the Mine Shaft? but we?re out of time!
?Oh, time ran out in the Icicle Room!? remarks Kirk, his hand on Angela?s shoulder. ?It was close, but they still get the camping gear and Compton?s New Media, and we gotta get outta here.  Check us out next time for more adventure and another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!? The camera shows views of the Dragon?s Lair, Knights? Barracks, Geographer?s Study and Laser Light Room as the credits roll.

Rediscovery EP: The Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador

Temple Run Summary
Episode 67px]

Name of Artifact: The Priceless Treasure of the Conquistador
Season: 2
Layout: 4 (8 overall)
Result: Did not escape in time
Time Remaining: N/A
Team: Silver Snakes
Pendants Won: 2
Location of Artifact: The Geographer's Study

These players seemed fairly smart early on, even if they had the direct path strategy.  The Temple design was almost an exact copy of the original show's "The Lost Taj Mahal Turban of Aurangzeb"; Angela only had one choice of where to go from each room until she was taken out in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 1:28 remaining.

Sean had no choice but to put the monkey together, go down into the Dungeon, deal with the third guard and climb up the slide into the Study, but he made a bad choice on the way out that quite possibly cost the team the win.  He grabbed the Treasure with 23 seconds on the clock, but when he got to the Laser Light Room, he went all the way down the central shaft, where the rock slab prevented him from entering the Mine Shaft.  Time ran out shortly after.

Trivia and Records:
This was the only time an artifact was located in the Geographer's Study, and the only time the rock slab in the divided pit stopped a player from leaving with an artifact.  Based on the pronunciation of her name, her accent and her mention of the Neckar River in her player interview, Angela was most likely from Germany.

I was angry when I saw that you didn't listen to my reply to you a few episodes back.  Having all teams go to the Temple in a certain layout was EXTREMELY rare in the original show and I wanted to keep that convention for my fanfics.  Please don't get on my case for this again.

Yup.  I was there, in Heidelberg, just past February.  Besides which, I figured since there was at least one British kid in the original show (see "The Silver Saddle Horn of Hannibal"), I could've reused the aspect.  So, I had Angela here, and the Orange Iguanas girl in "The Missing Map from the Catalan Atlas" was from the Basque Country in Spain.  I'm considering doing this again, though; it's a concept I liked including.
