Rediscovery EP: The Lost Colony and the Croatoan Carving

Legends: The Rediscovery

Episode 65px]

The camera maneuvers through a thick rainforest to stop in front of an ancient temple.  A giant stone head next to the gate of the temple begins to speak:
"LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk appears from behind the Temple Guard door in the Dungeon and runs straight out into the foreground of the stage to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple.  Which legend are we gonna hear about today?"

Olmec replies:
"The Lost Colony and the Croatoan Carving."

"So, the adventure is set," says Kirk in response, "and one of these six teams will get a chance to retrieve the Carving.  Will it be:
"Danny and Becca of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order?
"Isiah and Anna of the Blue Barracudas,
"Tristan and Hayley of the Green Monkeys,
"Andrew and Amanda of the Orange Iguanas,
"Tyler and Ashley of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Jon and Jessica of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass many physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they?ll have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today??
"Oh, and the Moat's frozen solid! So when I say go, one player from each team will crawl through the holes in those boards laying over the ice.  When he reaches the other side, then his partner will crawl through the holes to get to the other side."
"As soon as the second player reaches the other side of the Moat, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He slams down on the Red Jaguars' gong to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will be going into the next round.  Are we ready?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"You bet!" Olmec replies.
"All right then, teams!" Kirk says in response. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

On ?Go,? the boys on each team head out onto the ice and crawl start to crawl through the holes in the four partitions in front of them.  In a short while a bit of a lineup is decided; the player on the Red Jaguars takes the lead, going for the third partition while most players are still crawling through the second.  Meanwhile, the boys on the Blue Barracudas and Purple Parrots take up the rear, still struggling with the first hole.  The first player on the Red Jaguars makes it through very quickly, letting his partner get in while the other teams? first players are still on the third or last partition.  After a while longer, the Green Monkeys and Orange Iguanas get their first players across as well, but by this point, the girl on the Red Jaguars is already on the second partition.  By the time the other teams get their first players across, she?s only a hole away from the end, and quickly gets through the last hole to bang her team?s gong.
?There?s our first team going on to the Temple Games!? declares Kirk.  Thanks to the girl on the Silver Snakes having relatively little trouble getting through the holes, the Snakes are the second team to lock in. ?There?s two! We need two more!? The Orange Iguanas ring their gong. ?We?re looking for one?? a fourth gong sounds? ?That?s it! We got our four teams right here!?
The camera switches to Kirk high-fiving the Red Jaguars in front of their gong. ?Red Jaguars did a great job, and they were first in the Moat!? Kirk remarks. ?They?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Green Monkeys?? the camera briefly shows each qualifying team? ?and the Orange Iguanas? and the Silver Snakes! The Blue Barracudas and Purple Parrots gave it a great effort too, but they won?t be going away empty-handed.  We got a great gift for them just for playing.  Here?s what they get.? Daron, Crystal, Isiah and Anna will each be receiving a copy of The Ant Bully on DVD.

Rediscovery EP: The Lost Colony and the Croatoan Carving
« Reply #1 on: August 09, 2009, 11:33:55 AM »
The four teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "The quest continues, and it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Lost Colony and the Crouton Carving.  Pay attention, teams, because your knowledge of the Legend can bring you a step closer to the Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the legend:
"The Age of Exploration was full of new discoveries and strange cases, but one in particular takes the cake.  In August 1585, Richard Grenville set sail from England with 75 men, headed for the New World discovered by Christopher Columbus.  They landed on an island off the coast of North Carolina and made the first English settlement in history at Roanoke.
"Richard returned to England with a promise to drop off some more supplies in April the next year.  However, when he returned to Roanoke, the colony was completely empty.  None of the houses were destroyed, but nobody was there.  The only clue to what happened was on a tree: The word 'CROATOAN,' the name of an Indian tribe near the colony, was carved into the tree.  The tree was eventually cut down, and the piece of bark with the word on it made its way to the Temple.  You must find the Croatoan Carving and bring it here."

"Thank you Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the legend. "So tell us, where is this Carving?"
Olmec replies:
"The Croatoan Carving can be found in the Dungeon." The camera zooms in on the Croatoan Carving next to the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage, then fades back to Kirk.

"All right.  Teams," Kirk begins, walking down the steps, "you're now standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in a minute, Olmec is gonna ask you a question.  If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you.  If you're right, you?ll move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance to answer.  The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple.  Olmec, we?re ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:
?Was the Lost Colony known as: Jamestown, Plimoth or Roanoke??
Andrew hits the marking first: ?Row-noak???
?Correct,? Olmec answers.
?Nice job, Orange Iguanas, step down!? Kirk encourages, and the Orange Iguanas move down to the second step. ?Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Was Roanoke settled by the???
Amanda gongs in: ?The English???
?That is correct.?
?Whoo! Just like that, the Orange Iguanas are one step away from the Temple Games!? Kirk remarks as the Orange Iguanas jump down onto the penultimate step. ?We?re looking for two teams.  Olmec, next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?Was it on an island off the coast of: North Carolina, South Carolina or Virginia??
Andrew stomps down first and guesses: ?Virginia???
?Incorrect.?
Tristan buzzes in: ?South Carolina???
?Incorrect,? Olmec replies. ?The correct answer was North Carolina.?
?All right, next question, Olmec,? requests Kirk.
Olmec asks:
?Did the carved word ?CROATOAN? refer to: A country in Europe, An Indian tribe or A volcano??
Becca rings in: ?Indian tribe???
?Correct,? answers Olmec.
?Red Jaguars, step down,? says Kirk, and the Red Jaguars move down to the second step. ?Next question.?
Olmec then asks:
?Were the settlers for Roanoke transported by: John Smith, Richard Grenville or Miles Standish??
After some hesitation, Elisa gives it a try: ?Richard Greenville???
?Correct.?
?Green Monkeys can still get into this,? comments Kirk as the Silver Snakes move down to the second step. ?Olmec, next question.?
Olmec continues:
?On the first voyage, did Richard drop off: 25 settlers, 75 settlers or 95???
A stomp from Danny interrupts Olmec: ?75 settlers???
?That is correct,? Olmec replies.
?Red Jaguars now just one step away from the Temple Games,? Kirk explains as the Red Jaguars walk down onto the third step. ?Olmec, continue.?
Olmec does so by asking:
?Did Richard promise to return with more supplies in: January, April or June??
Ryan stomps down and guesses: ?April???
?That is correct.?
?Silver Snakes also one step away from the Temple Games!? Kirk remarks as all but the Green Monkeys are gathered on the second-to-last level. ?Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?To get to Roanoke, would someone need to sail across the: Pacific Ocean, Atlantic Ocean or Indian Ocean??
Danny hits the marking first: ?Pacific Ocean???
?Incorrect.?
Ryan stomps in: ?Atlantic Ocean.?
?That is correct!? shouts Olmec, and the Silver Snakes jump down onto the bottom step.
?There, we got our first team moving on to the Temple Games!? Kirk announces as the Silver Snakes jump up and down on the bottom level. ?The Silver Snakes! Now we?re looking for one more team, who?s it gonna be? Next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?Was the Croatoan Carving made out of: Tree bark, Clay???
Tristan cuts Olmec off: ?Tree bark.?
?Correct,? says Olmec, and the Green Monkeys move down a step.
?Green Monkeys could be staging a comeback,? says Kirk. ?Olmec, next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Was Roanoke settled in: 1485, 1585 or 1685??
Andrew buzzes in: ?1585???
?THAT IS CORRECT!? bellows Olmec, and the Orange Iguanas move down beside the Silver Snakes on the bottom step.  Kirk slips in  behind the two teams as they begin congratulating one another.
?We got our two teams!? Kirk announces. ?The Silver Snakes and the Orange Iguanas! Red Jaguars, Green Monkeys, you gave it a great effort too.  We got a nice gift for you both and here?s what it is.? Danny, Becca, Tristan and Hayley will each be receiving an Armitron watch.
The camera cuts back to Kirk with the Orange Iguanas and Silver Snakes at the bottom of the Steps of Knowledge. ?These two teams will be playing to enter Olmec?s Temple,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera zooms in on the dragon head in the back of the Dragon?s Lair, then fades to commercial.

Rediscovery EP: The Lost Colony and the Croatoan Carving
« Reply #2 on: August 09, 2009, 11:51:13 AM »
Kirk is standing in front of the Crevasse between the last two teams. ?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?Now is the time when the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest? so let?s hear it for Ryan and Elisa of the Silver Snakes!? The rather tall, blue-green-eyed boy and brunette girl with brown eyes clap along with the audience. ?And Andrew and Amanda of the Orange Iguanas!? The camera closes in on the brown-haired boy with freckles and the green-eyed girl with a blond braided ponytail as the audience applauds for them. ?You guys ready to play?? Kirk asks.
?YEAH!? The players shout their reply.
?All right! You can go get ready for the Temple Games,? Kirk says.  Amanda and Elisa then walk offscreen in one direction and Ryan and Andrew leave in another. ?In the Temple Games, these teams are competing to win?" he opens a pouch and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "Pendants of Life.  The winning team will need the Pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple.  There are three Temple Games.  Olmec, tell us about the first one.?

Olmec begins:
?One of the theories is that the settlers at Roanoke were kidnapped by Indians, but in this game, you will have to escape the chains that bind you.  When Kirk gives the signal, climb along the wall and maneuver the chain along the slot, trying to make your way to the space marked ?Freedom,? through which you can escape.
?The first player to reach ?Freedom?? or the one that?s further along after 60 seconds? wins.?
The camera segues to Kirk, who is standing between the two boards the girls are attached to by the equipment fastened around their waists. ?Time for a jailbreak,? Kirk says. ?Let?s set the clock for 60 seconds.? A countdown clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
As soon as Kirk shouts ?Go,? the girls climb up and start to follow the grooves in the vertical maze.  They look about even at first, but after about ten seconds, Elisa starts to get ahead of Amanda.  She slows down at the first metal loop, though, allowing Amanda to catch up.  Both girls make it through the first metal loop with 38 seconds remaining, and both make it through the second loop with :22 left.
?This is gonna be close!? Kirk remarks as the girls work their ways towards the third metal loop and the exit.  While making one of the last few turns, Amanda?s chain gets stuck momentarily, allowing Elisa to take the lead and make it out with 13 seconds on the clock.
?That?s it!? Kirk announces. ?Silver Snakes pulled it out in the last second, giving them a half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds momentarily. ?Orange can catch up in the next game, it?s worth a full? I mean, a half Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about it.?

Olmec continues:
?Another rumor about Roanoke is that its settlers formed two groups and faced each other in battle, with no one surviving.  Thankfully for you, in this game, you will have to take down four soldiers that won?t fight back.  When Kirk gives the signal, lob a cannonball at one of the soldiers on the wall.  Then, load another cannonball in the slingshot and shoot again.
?The first player to knock down all four soldiers ? or the player that?s knocked over the most soldiers in 60 seconds? wins.?
?All right, time to go to war for our players here,? Kirk comments. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.? The clock then appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?And let me get outta the way? Don?t wanna be hit by a cannonball.? He jogs offscreen to the right. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
Andrew and Ryan take aim at the targets on the wall, and while the first couple of cannonballs simply fall out of the slingshot, Ryan scores first with 50 seconds remaining, knocking over his leftmost target.  He gets the rightmost target moments later, while Andrew fails to launch the balls fast enough, only lightly hitting the targets as a result.
?Orange might need to? Oh! He?s got one!? Kirk comments as Andrew knocks down his second-from-right target with 39 seconds to go.  Ryan hits his second-from-right target at the :32 mark. ?Silver Snakes, that?s thr? Oh, and it stands back up! So close!? Andrew then evens the score by knocking down his rightmost target with 22 seconds left.  With two seconds left, Ryan knocks down his second-from-left target; when the clock reaches zero, a pattern of ceiling spotlights flashes to indicate the end of the game.
?All right, that?s it!? Kirk announces, running back onscreen. ?Orange got two, but Silver got three, earning them another half Pendant of Life!? Ryan claps with the audience. ?But Orange can still catch up, ?cause this next game is worth a whole Pendant.  It?s the third and final game.  Olmec, tell us.?

Olmec narrates:
?Roanoke was England?s first attempt to colonize in the New World, so that they could get treasure in the Americas back to England.  In this game ,you will help bring some treasures to England.  When Kirk gives the signal, grab a gold artifact and run out to meet your partner at the middle of the path.  Then pass the gold treasure to your partner, who will slide back and place it in your team?s treasure box.  Then go back and try it again.
?The team with the most pieces of gold in their treasure box after 60 seconds wins.?
?Orange Iguanas need this to tie it up,? Kirk reminds the audience. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.? The clock then appears on the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
The players grab onto the raised sides of the tracks and walk against the force of the bungee cords attaching them to the walls behind them.  The cords are only just long enough so that the players can meet in the middle, but the players work very fast to get to the meeting point, both completing the first transfer with 50 seconds remaining and the second with 40 seconds left.  However, on the third time up, Elisa has a tougher time getting to the midpoint, letting the Orange Iguanas slip ahead while leaving Ryan to wait at the middle as long as he can.  Unfortunately, his bungee cord forces him to slip backwards at the :26 mark before Elisa can pass off the third piece of gold.
?That might?ve cost them, ?cause this game is tough!? Kirk remarks as Ryan tries to make his way back to the middle.  The Silver Snakes complete their third transfer with 18 seconds left, but the Orange Iguanas complete their fourth transfer moments later.  Both teams make one last transfer with six seconds to go; time runs out and the ceiling spotlights flash moments later.
?Okay,? Kirk says as he walks into the space between the tracks and peers into the treasure boxes.  As soon as the spotters unfasten the kids, they run over to join him. ?Silver Snakes got?? he pulls out the treasures as he counts? ?one, two, three? four pieces of gold.  Orange Iguanas got one, two, three, four? five pieces of gold! Orange Iguanas get the full Pendant, that gives them a Pendant, Silver Snakes have one Pendant? We have a tie! Bring in the tiebreaker pedestals!?

The players run over to the tiebreaker pedestals and stand behind their gongs as directed by Kirk. ?Okay, here are the tiebreaker rules.  In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question.  If you think you know the answer, hit the gong in front of you.  You?ll have three seconds to answer and I must accept your first response.  If you?re right, you and your partner will be going inside the Temple in search of the Crow-tone Carving, but if you?re wrong or run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance.  All clear?"
The players nod in response.
"All right.  Olmec!" Kirk shouts. "What is the final question??

Olmec asks:
?Which of these was the first successful English settlement in the New World: Plimoth, Jamestown or Massachusetts Bay??
Ryan hits the gong first and guesses: ?Jamestown???
There is a momentary pause.
?That IS correct,? replies Olmec, and Elisa squeals; she and Ryan hug for a few seconds and jump up and down.
?The Silver Snakes were correct!? Kirk declares. ?The Silver Snakes are goin? to the Temple!? Kirk then goes to talk with the Orange Iguanas. ?Orange Iguanas gave it a great effort too, it was a close match all day, we loved havin? em.  Here?s what we?ve got for them.? Andrew and Amanda will each be receiving a copy of the Kingdom Hearts II PlayStation 2 game.
The camera shows Kirk standing in front of the equipment for the third Temple Game between Ryan and Elisa. ?They broke the tie, and now we?ll see if the Silver Snakes can retrieve that Carving,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera rushes around the equipment for the third Temple Game, stops in front of the Dungeon and zooms in on the Croatoan Carving before fading to commercial.

Rediscovery EP: The Lost Colony and the Croatoan Carving
« Reply #3 on: August 09, 2009, 12:01:37 PM »
Kirk stands in front of the Temple's stairs next to Ryan and Elisa. "Welcome back," he says to the camera before turning around to talk to Olmec. "Olmec!" he shouts. "Elisa and Ryan have proven themselves worthy and earned the right to enter your Temple.  But before they go, can you give them any clues about your Temple to help them retrieve that Crow-ta-noan Carving?"
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Crevasse and climbing down into the Mine Shaft.  Throw enough rocks into the bucket to lift the slab, then race into the Crystal Cave.  Pull down the correct icicle, and you could choose to go up into the Dragon?s Lair, or into the Junction of the Secret Shafts.  If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Switch Inferno! Hit the right actuator to go upstairs, or plow through the wall and into the Dungeon, where you can grab the Croatoan Carving.
?Then, climb up the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage into the Geographer?s Study.  Take the correct book off the bookshelf, and put it on the pedestal in the front of the room to open the door to the SHRIIIIINE of the Silver Monkey! Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Knights? Barracks.  Place the sword in the correct sheath, and you could advance into the Laser Light Room.  Find the right combination to unleash the power of the laser, and run across the Bridge.  Then, pass through the Arctic Antechamber, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate.  The choices are yours and yours alone!? Olmec pauses for a second here. "You won 1 Pendant in the Temple Games.  Who's going first??
"I am!" says Ryan, raising his hand in the air.
"Very well, Ryan!" replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Croatoan Carving.  Hidden inside the Temple are three ventilation shafts that let out in the Junction of the Secret Shafts, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms.  You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and then it'll be Elisa's turn to enter and try her luck.  Hidden somewhere inside the Temple are the two halves of your Pendant.  If you can find both of them, you will get an extra life.  If you can reach the Carving, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish.  Return through the gates with the Croatoan Carving in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!"
?   For just getting into the Temple, they?re both going to get an Ultra-Bounce trampoline provided by Bollinger.
?   If they can reach the Carving within three minutes, they?re also going to get a Nintendo video game chair.
?   And if they can get the Carving out of the Temple before 3 minutes is up, they?ll both be going to the Bahamas! The Bahamas Princess Resort, on exciting Grand Bahama Island, offering tennis, swimming and international entertainment.  Fun for the whole family! Bahamas Princess Resort, for a prize package totaling $10,774!

"Time to see if we can get these guys to the Bahamas," Kirk says before turning to Elisa. "So, what's your strategy, Elisa?"
"Well," she explains, "we're gonna go all the way across the top and go down from? the Library Room? get the Carved Thing and get back out."
"All right," replies Kirk. "Well then, let?s get you into position, Ryan.  Put your mouthpieces in.  Set the clock for three minutes." The clock then appears onscreen. "Lower the gate, Olmec!"
Olmec groans gutturally as he lowers the gate; the blue lights under him are turned off.
"On your mark, get set, GO!"

?There he goes! He?s going up!? Kirk announces as Ryan goes up the stairs and enters the Arctic Antechamber, where he promptly gets started pushing away the icy rocks in each of the ice walls in the room. ?That was their plan, they?re gonna go up across the top!? Ryan breaks down all three ice walls before moving on into the Bridge, where he heads up into the Laser Light Room with 2:41 remaining.  He kneels down in front of the laser column to align the sections of the puzzle on its surface, but out jumps the first TEMPLE GUARD!
?Woah! Temple Guard in the Laser Room, it scared him!? remarks Kirk as Ryan faces the guard and leans back, startled for a second.  He hands over the Pendant at 2:33, and gets back to work on the column.  At the 2:20 mark, the column is fully aligned, and the laser is emitted from the column as only the door leading down into the Dragon?s Lair opens.  Ryan climbs down and then gets to work on gathering the dragon horns, getting them two at a time. ?Next time a Temple Guard gets him, it?ll be turn for Elisa!? Ryan puts in the last horn with 2:04 left; the mystic pattern on the walls lights up violet and a roar is heard, but no doors open for a few seconds.  At 1:56, the door leading down into the Crystal Cave opens, and Ryan climbs down.  However, lurking in the corner of the room is the second TEMPLE GUARD!
?Oh, he?s out of the Cave! Go Alyssa!? shouts Kirk, and Elisa goes through the Temple Gate with 1:48 left and no Pendant of Life. ?So far she?s just gotta follow Ryan?s path?? Elisa makes it up to the Laser Light Room with 1:35 on the clock, then climbs down twice and sets foot in the Crystal Cave with 1:22 to go.  She pulls down the three stalactites around the room, starting right of the ladder and moving around the back.  The one behind the ladder opens the doors, and Elisa moves right, trying to go into the Mine Shaft only to have the rock slab block her exit (1:04).  She then turns around and goes through into the Junction of the Secret Shafts, then takes the upper crawl tube into the Switch Inferno (0:57). ?She?s doing great, she?s just one room away!? Kirk announces.  Elisa immediately tries to break down the rock wall, but it doesn?t budge when she pushes it. ?That?s not open! You gotta find another way!? With 48 seconds left, Elisa begins to push down on the actuators on the left wall of the room, taking a half Pendant off of one of them.  The third actuator she hits opens the doors leading upward, and Elisa climbs up into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 35 seconds left.  She goes to grab the base of the statue, but out jumps the final TEMPLE GUARD!
?Ugh? That?s it!? Kirk announces as the third Temple Guard grabs Elisa with 31 seconds on the clock. ?She only had a half Pendant, she couldn?t find the other one.  She gave it a great effort though, and she and Ryan cleared a major path.  They still get the trampolines just for playing, and we gotta get outta here.  Join us again for more adventure and another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!? Ryan and Kirk wave to the camera; the Dungeon, Geographer?s Study and Shrine of the Silver Monkey are all shown from various angles as the credits roll.

Rediscovery EP: The Lost Colony and the Croatoan Carving

Temple Run Summary
Episode 65px]

Name of Artifact: The Croatoan Carving
Season: 2
Layout: 4 (8 overall)
Result: Triple seizure
Time Remaining: 0:31
Team: Silver Snakes
Pendants Won: 1
Location of Artifact: The Dungeon

It seems like those sly producers foiled another team's chances of victory here.  Elisa found one half Pendant, but didn't find the other (which I couldn't see either) and thus she got taken out before time was up.  She wasn't the fastest player, but her only mistake was trying to go right from the Crystal Cave before she corrected herself.

However, the fact that she could have gone back into the Mine Shaft if not for the rock slab seems to suggest the team could've started in the Crevasse and gone through to the Crystal Cave that way, bypassing the Temple Guard in the Laser Light Room.  Not only that, but it would've saved a good deal of time, because with 31 seconds left when Elisa was captured, it would've been very close.

Trivia and Records:
This is the first time the rock wall connecting the bottom corner room and the golden doors room does not break down, and the first time a player tries to go back only to be denied passage by the rock slab.  It's only the second time a team who won but a single Pendant in the Temple Games has their run ended by three Temple Guards.
