Legends: The Rediscovery

Episode 49px]

The camera maneuvers through a thick rainforest to stop in front of an ancient temple.  A giant stone head next to the gate of the temple begins to speak:
"LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk appears from behind the Temple Guard door in the Dungeon and runs straight out into the foreground of the stage to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple.  Which legend are we gonna hear about today?"

Olmec replies:
"The Legend of the Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus."

"Oh, the Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus!" Kirk says in response. "Well one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve that Spice Jar.  Will it be:
"Tanner and Christine of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order?
"Brandon and Kendra of the Blue Barracudas,
"Trevor and Jenna of the Green Monkeys,
"LaDarius and Megan of the Orange Iguanas,
"Kris and Meredith of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Keith and Dominique of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they must cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today:
"In front of each team there's a slippery footpath that stretches all the way across the Moat.  When I say go, one player from each team will get ready to slide down the path on their stomach and try to grab that little rope there on the other side to pull themselves onto the deck.  But if they slide out and they can?t reach the rope, they?ll have to try again."
"Now as soon as his teammate does the same thing and gets onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He slams down on the Red Jaguars' gong to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the Steps of Knowledge.  Hey teams? on your mark, get set, GO!"

The teams? first players back up a step and then run and slide belly-down across the narrow footpaths.  The boys on the Red Jaguars and Purple Parrots and the girls on the Green Monkeys and Orange Iguanas all make it far enough out to reach the ropes on their very first try.  However, the boy on the Blue Barracudas and the girl on the Silver Snakes don?t make it anywhere near as far and jump off to try again.
?It?s a slip-sliding Moat race!? Kirk comments as the team players make their second attempts to reach the ropes.  This time, only the boy on the Green Monkeys slides out far enough, and he gets up, runs over to his team?s gong and lights it up. ?We got our first team, the Green Monkeys!? Kirk comments as the others players prepare to try again. ?We?re lookin? for three more!?
On the third attempt only the girl on the Purple Parrots reaches her rope.  She slowly pulls herself to the deck as the other team players go back to start again, and she bangs her team?s gong as the players on the Red Jaguars, Blue Barracudas, Orange Iguanas and Silver Snakes slide out again.  On the fourth try, only the boy on the Orange Iguanas gets across.  He hits his gong soon thereafter.
?Still looking for one more team!? Kirk announces. ?I think it?s gonna be the Red Jaguars, we?ll see when they try again!? Sure enough, on the fourth try, the second player on the Red Jaguars makes it out far enough to reach the short rope.  She pulls herself onto the deck and runs over to hit the gong.  Neither the Blue Barracudas nor the Silver Snakes have a player on the other side of the Moat.
?Okay, that?s it!? Kirk shouts, and the camera shows him standing with the Red Jaguars around their gong. ?The Red Jag-wires hung in there and they?re going to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Green Monkeys?? the camera goes down the line to show each of the other winning teams? ?and the Orange Iguanas? and the Purple Parrots! The Blue Barracudas and the Silver Snakes?? the camera shows both players on each team standing on the far side of the Moat? ?they gave it a good effort too.  We got a nice gift for them and here?s what it is.? Brandon, Dominique, Keith and Kendra will each be receiving a prize package provided by Reebok.

Rediscovery EP: The Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus
« Reply #1 on: June 09, 2009, 08:30:44 PM »
The four teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus.  But pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the Legend can bring you one step closer to Olmec's Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the legend:
"The most famous of all the explorers was Christopher Columbus.  Born in Italy, he sailed for the Spanish King Ferdinand and Queen Isabella in 1492.  He took out three ships? the Ni?a, the Pinta and the Santa Mar?a? and legend has it his first mate, Pablo, came to talk to him one day.
" 'Capit?n, jou wanted to go get Indian espices, ?no?' he asked.
" 'Yes, and we?ve been going there all along.  No problemo,' Chris replied, but then Pablo looked at the map of their route.
" 'We?ve been going west all this time?! Are jou loco? We?re going to fall off the earth!'
" 'No, no, it?s a quicker way to get there, and the Portuguese don?t know about it,' answered Chris confidently, and the ships marched on.
"Chris kept a large spice jar in his cabin for the day they hit land in India, so he could collect.  One day, a voice shouted:
" 'Land ho!'
"Chris stepped out and expected to see India, but the ships had actually landed in the Bahamas.  Nevertheless, he died thinking he?d landed in India, and his spice jar, which he never got any spices for in the Bahamas, made its way to the Temple.  Your job is to find the Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus and bring it here."

"Thank you Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the legend. "So tell us, where is the Spice Jar?"
Olmec replies:
"The Empty Spice Jar can be found in the Knights? Barracks." The camera zooms in on the Empty Spice Jar on the railing in the Knights? Barracks, then fades back to Kirk.

"All right.  Teams," Kirk begins, walking down the steps, "you're standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in a minute, Olmec is gonna ask you a question.  If you think you know the answer, stomp down on that ancient marking in front of you.  If you're right, you're gonna move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or you run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance.  The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple.  Olmec, we're now ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:
?Did Christopher Columbus want to sail to???
Jenna rings in first, but is quiet: ?India.?
?Say it again,? says Kirk after a second.
?India,? Jenna repeats, a bit louder this time.
?Correct,? replies Olmec.
?Don?t be shy, it was the right answer!? says Kirk, gesturing for the Green Monkeys to move down to the second step. ?Green Monkeys on the board.  Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?In that time, was India known for: Silk, Spices or???
Kris hits the marking this time: ?Spices!?
?Correct,? answers Olmec.
?Nice job, Purple Parrots, step down,? says Kirk, and the Purple Parrots move down to the second step. ?Next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?Which of these was the flagship of Christopher?s voyage: the Ni?a, the Pinta or the Santa Mar?a??
After a moment, Tanner stomps in first: ?The Nina???
?Incorrect,? says Olmec in response.
Kris rings in again: ?The Santa Mar?a???
?That is correct,? replies Olmec.
?Purple Parrots now just one step away from the Temple Games,? Kirk declares as the Purple Parrots move down to the penultimate level. ?Olmec, next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Did Christopher Columbus sail for Spain in: 1066???
LaDarius gongs in: ?1492!?
?Correct,? answers Olmec.
?Red Jaguars can still get into this,? Kirk mentions as the Orange Iguanas move down to the second step. ?We?re looking for two teams.  Next question, Olmec.?
Olmec then asks:
?According to our legend, was Christopher?s first mate named: Pablo, Pedro or Pancho??
Trevor hits the marking first: ?Pedro???
?Incorrect.?
Megan gives it a try: ?Pablo???
?That is correct,? Olmec replies.
?Orange Iguanas now one step away from the Temple Games,? says Kirk as the Orange Iguanas move down again. ?Olmec, next question.?
Olmec continues:
?Instead of India, did Christopher Columbus actually land in: Bermuda, Barbados or The Bahamas??
Christine buzzes in: ?Um? The Bahamas???
?Correct,? replies Olmec.
?This match is really heating up,? Kirk comments as the Red Jaguars move down to the second step. ?Olmec, continue.?
Olmec does so by asking:
?Unlike other explorers, did Christopher Columbus tried to sail to India by going: East, West or Around northern Europe??
After a moment, Kris rings in: ?West???
?That is correct!? shouts Olmec.
?Purple Parrots the first team to make it to the Temple Game!? Kirk announces as the Purple Parrots dance their way down to the bottommost level. ?We still need one more team, will it be the Red Jaguars, the Green Snakes or the Orange Iguanas? Let?s keep going.  Olmec!?
Olmec now asks:
?In our legend, did Pablo realize they were headed west by looking at: A map, A compass or The stars??
Christine stomps down and guesses: ?Compass???
?Incorrect,? answers Olmec.
Megan gongs in: ?Compass???
?Incorrect,? answers Olmec. ?The correct answer was: A map.?
?All right,? Kirk comments. ?Nobody scored.  Still anybody?s game.  Olmec, next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Which of these countries had already established an eastern route to India: Portugal, Italy or England??
After some deliberation, Jenna hits the marking first: ?Italy???
?Incorrect,? Olmec replies.
LaDarius rings in: ?Portugal???
?That is correct!? yells Olmec.
?We got our two teams!? Kirk announces, slipping in behind the two celebrating teams on the bottommost level of the Steps of Knowledge. ?They are the Orange Iguanas and the Purple Parrots! Green Monkeys, Red Jaguars, come on down here.? The other two teams move down a step. ?You guys gave it a great effort too.  Here?s what we?ve got for you.? Trevor, Jenna, Tanner and Christine will each be receiving a copy of the Teen Titans Game Boy Advance Game.
The camera switches back to Kirk standing between the Orange Iguanas and the Purple Parrots at the bottom of the Steps of Knowledge. ?We?ll see these two teams play for the right to enter Olmec?s Temple,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera pans over the audience before fading to commercial.

Rediscovery EP: The Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus
« Reply #2 on: June 09, 2009, 08:31:24 PM »
Kirk is now standing in front of the Mine Shaft between the last two remaining teams. ?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let?s hear it for Meredith and Kris of the Purple Parrots!? The girl with an auburn braided ponytail and the short-haired boy with freckles to the stage-left of Kirk clap along with the audience. ?And Megan and LaDarius of the Orange Iguanas!? The dark-haired girl and tall black boy high-five as the audience cheers. ?You guys ready to play??
?Yeah,? The players answer.
?Okay, girls go get ready for the first Temple Game, guys can get set up for the second over there.? Kirk points in different directions; LaDarius and Kris walk offscreen in one direction, while Megan and Meredith walk away in another direction. ?In the Temple Games, these two teams are gonna be competing for these?" he opens a pouch and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "Pendants of Life.  The winning team will need those Pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple.  There are three Temple Games.  Olmec, tell us about the first one.?

Olmec begins:
?Christopher Columbus actually made four voyages across the Atlantic, but in this game, you will only have to make one.  When Kirk gives the signal, sail to the island and, without touching the water, mount your flag on the island.  Then, turn your boat around and pull yourself back to the dock.
?The first player to mount their flag and return with their feet on the dock? or the player that?s further along after 30 seconds? wins!?
?Looks like a nice day for some sailing,? Kirk says, standing in the middle of the dock. ?Set the clock for 30 seconds.? The countdown clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
?Bon voyage!? Kirk calls out as Megan and Meredith take off.  The girls both paddle out at a fair pace, but Megan has much less trouble steering.  Meredith goes too far off to the side of the stage, and a spotter spends a couple seconds trying to redirect her, giving Megan a bit of a lead.  Megan gets to the island and mounts the flag with 20 seconds remaining.  She takes four seconds to turn around, during which Meredith reaches her island.  On the way back, Meredith realizes she?s turned too much and swings by the edge of the playing field again, while Megan lands first with seven seconds left and runs back up the dock.  Meredith just gets out of her boat at that moment and runs over to meet Kirk and Megan.
?All right! Orange Iguanas got back before time ended,? Kirk remarks, ?so they get the half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds briefly. ?The next game?s worth a half Pendant, Purple can catch up.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #2.?

Olmec continues:
?Christopher Columbus helped claim a number of territories for Spain.  In this game, when Kirk gives the signal, jump up, unfurl one of the Spanish flags on the ceiling, then come back down.  Then, jump up and do it again.
?The first player to unfurl all the flags? or the player that unfurls the most flags in 60 seconds? wins.?
The camera fades to Kirk. ?Now?s not the time to wave the white flag,? he says. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.? The clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
LaDarius and Kris both take off.  LaDarius is several inches taller, but he has trouble jumping high enough off the ground at first, so after only ten seconds, the score is 2-1 Purple.  This actually stays fairly consistent for most of the first half, but LaDarius begins to get the idea and close the gap as Kris starts to miss more often.  After thirty seconds, the scores are tied, with both players having unraveled five flags.
?This game?s a good match!? Kirk remarks as the players jump up again.  As the game goes on, Kris has trouble finding and reaching for the flags that aren?t already unfurled, so LaDarius takes the lead.  At the :15 mark, Kris has just unrolled his eighth flag, but LaDarius is going up for his ninth, which he succeeds in unfurling.  He unravels the tenth and final flag with nine seconds left, at which point Kirk appears onscreen.
?All right, that?s it!? he announces.  LaDarius and Kris get back down on the ground, and the spotters work on freeing them from their harnesses. ?Purple Parrots got eight flags before time ran out, but Orange Iguanas got all ten, giving them another half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds again. ?So now it?s a full Pendant for Orange, Purple still looking to score, so we go to the third and final game, it?s worth a full Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #3.?

Olmec narrates:
?Once the Spanish set up colonies in places in the Caribbean, they were able to bring goods from those places back to Spain.  In this game, you?re going to ship a few treasures as well.  When Kirk gives the signal, grab a gold treasure and run out to meet your partner at the middle of the path.  Then pass the treasure to your partner, who will slide back and place it in your team?s treasure box.  Then go back and do it again!
?The team with the most pieces of gold in their treasure box after 60 seconds wins.?
?This is for the Temple,? Kirk reminds the audience. ?Sixty seconds on the clock.? The clock appears in the corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
As soon as Kirk shouts ?Go,? the players use the handholds in the raised sides of the tracks to walk against the force of the bungee cords attaching them to the walls behind them.  The guys have relatively little trouble getting to the middle, but the girls, who are supposed to take the treasure up to the midpoint, have a much harder time.  Megan finally meets LaDarius with 44 seconds left and makes the transfer just before he loses grip and goes sliding back to place the piece of treasure in the team bin.  Kris loses his grip as well, but unfortunately Meredith wasn?t able to get to the midpoint in time; she loses her grip and slides back as well to try again.
?That might?ve cost ?em, Purple Parrots losing their grip,? Kirk comments as the players try again.  Both teams maintain about the same pace going up; the Orange Iguanas and Purple Parrots meet at the same time with the next pieces of treasure, bringing the score to 2-1 Orange when the treasures go into the boxes at the :26 and :24 marks for Orange and Purple respectively.  With twelve seconds left, Megan loses grip almost all the way into the center and goes sliding back; LaDarius slides back to start over as well.  Meanwhile, the Purple Parrots complete their second transfer with four seconds remaining.  Shortly after, a pattern of ceiling spotlights flash to indicate time has run out.
?That?s it, time?s up!? announces Kirk.  He appears onscreen and goes in between the raised tracks to grab the bins as spotters unfasten the harnesses the players were wearing.  The players walk over to meet Kirk as soon as they?re free. ?Orange Iguanas got?? he counts up the scores as he pulls out the pieces of treasure? ?one, two pieces of gold.  Purple Parrots got one, two pieces of gold! It?s a tie? they each get the full Pendant, giving the Purple Parrots one, but the Orange Iguanas have two! The Orange Iguanas are going to the Temple!? Megan and LaDarius perform what looks like a secret handshake while Kirk goes to talk with Meredith and Kris. ?Great job by the Purple Parrots, only came up a little bit short.  We got a great gift for you both and here?s what it is.? Kris and Meredith will each be receiving a backpack provided by Eastpak.
The camera cuts back to Kirk with the Orange Iguanas in front of the equipment for the third Temple Game. ?We?ll see the Orange Iguanas try to make it through Olmec?s Temple and retrieve that Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus,? says Kirk, ?right after this!? The camera rushes across a clearing in the Temple Games arena and zooms in on the Empty Spice Jar in the Knights? Barracks before fading to commercial.

Rediscovery EP: The Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus
« Reply #3 on: June 09, 2009, 08:34:24 PM »
Kirk stands in front of the Temple's stairs next to LaDarius and Megan. "Welcome back to Legends," he says to the camera. "The Orange Iguanas have proven themselves worthy and earned the right to enter Olmec?s Temple.  But before they go, Olmec?s gonna give some information to help them retrieve the Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus."
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Crevasse and climbing down into the Mine Shaft.  Throw enough rocks into the bucket to lift the slab, then race into the Crystal Cave.  Pull down the correct icicle, and you could choose to go up into the Dragon?s Lair, or into the Junction of the Secret Shafts.  If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Switch Inferno.  Hit the right actuator to go upstairs, or plow through the wall and into the Abandoned Cave.
?There, climb up the ladder into the Planetarium, and spin the correct sphere to open the door to the SHRIIIIiiine? of the Silver Monkey.  Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Knights? Barracks, where you can grab the Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus.  Place the sword in the correct sheath, but be careful? one of the suits of armor could be possessed by the spirit of a Temple Guard! If they grab you, you'll have to give up a Pendant of Life! Next, race up to the Laser Light Room, find the right combination to unleash the power of the laser, and run across the Bridge.  Then, pass through the Room of Temple Gongs, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate.  The choices are yours and yours alone.? Olmec pauses for a second here. "You won 2 Pendants in the Temple Games.  Who's going first??
"I am!" shouts LaDarius.
"Very well, LaDarius," replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Empty Spice Jar.  Hidden inside the Temple are three ventilation shafts that let out in the Junction of the Secret Shafts, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms.  You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and then it'll be Megan's turn to enter and try her luck.  If you can reach the Spice Jar, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish.  Return through the gates with the Empty Spice Jar in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!"
?   For just getting into the Temple, they?re each going to get a $250 Toys ?R? Us gift card.
?   If they can grab the Spice Jar within 3 minutes, they?re both going to get Compton?s Interactive Encyclopedia on CD-ROM, provided by Compton?s New Media.
?   And if they can get the Empty Spice Jar out of the Temple before 3 minutes is up, they?ll both be going to Quebec City! They?ll be staying for three days at Delta Quebec, with an indoor exercise room, an outdoor heated pool and an underground mall and they?ll be there during the Carnaval de Qu?bec.  Delta Quebec, for a prize package totaling $10,836!

"Sounds great, let?s get ?em to Quebec!" Kirk says before turning to Megan. "So, Megan, tell me: What?s your strategy? How?re you gonna get to the Spice Jar?"
"Well," she explains, "we?re just gonna? go across the top, get it and come out.  And hopefully we?re not gonna run into the Temple Guards." She smiles.
"Let's see if that works out, you guys," Kirk says. "Darien, get out in front.  Mouthpieces in.  Lower the gate, Olmec!"
Olmec hums as he lowers the gate.
"And set the clock for three minutes." The clock appears onscreen. "On your mark, get set, GO!"

?There he goes! Up into the Temple! They got two Pendants!? Kirk shouts as LaDarius races up the stairs and into the Room of Temple Gongs, where he meets the first TEMPLE GUARD!
?Woah! Temple Guard, right off the bat!? Kirk remarks. LaDarius hands over his Pendant of Life with 2:51 remaining and goes to the front of the room to hit the gongs there.  Starting with the rightmost gong and moving stage-left, the gongs light up blue, purple, green and orange; the fourth one opens the doors and LaDarius heads on into the Bridge with (2:43).  Unfortunately, the door at the end of the Bridge happens to be a dead end, so he?s forced to go back and climb down into the Crevasse. ?The Bridge didn?t work out, so he?s gotta go for the Ledges and the Mine Shaft!? After a little time spent slithering down through the ledges of the Crevasse, LaDarius hits the actuator for the upper crawl tube and goes through into the Mine Shaft (2:21).  It takes six rocks in the bucket to raise the stone slab all the way, and then LaDarius goes into the Crystal Cave, where he meets the second TEMPLE GUARD!
?Oh! Temple Guard again! Go Megan!? Kirk calls out, and Megan jogs up the stairs of the Temple with 2:03 on the clock.  She passes through the Room of Temple Gongs and goes onto the Bridge to double-check the locked door.  After hitting the actuator twice, she knocks on the door and waits for a second before going back into the Room of Temple Gongs (1:47). ?She seems to be following Darien?s path pretty good.? She climbs down into the Crevasse, then squirms her way into the Mine Shaft and goes through into the Crystal Cave, setting foot in the room with 1:25 on the clock.  When she gets in, she just looks around cluelessly for a couple of seconds.
?You gotta bring down the icicles!? yells Kirk.  Megan finally pulls down the stalactite on the left of the ladder, then goes to pull the other two down.  Only the door leading into the Junction of the Secret Shafts opens, but she climbs up to try and enter the Dragon?s Lair, then prepares to turn back. ?No, you gotta keep going forward! Go on! Into the Room of the Secret Passage!? Megan enters the Junction of the Secret Shafts with 1:07 to go, then goes straight across into the Switch Inferno, where she gets confused again.
?One of the switches opens the doors! Hit the switches!? Kirk shouts.  Megan hits the four actuators on the right wall, then the four on the left wall.  She looks around for a second before she realizes the third switch on the left wall opened the golden doors, and she climbs up into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 45 seconds remaining.
?There, she?s only one room away from the Spice Jar!? announces Kirk, and the audience starts cheering louder.  Megan grabs all three pieces of the statue, but then fumbles with them, dropping them all over the floor of the room.  She picks up the middle and the head and tries to put them on without the base? not to mention the middle is upside-down. ?She?s gotta put the base first? All gotta start somewhere, huh? Put the base first!? Megan finally separates and takes the other two pieces off the pedestal and puts the base on the pedestal.  She then takes the middle and fits it on, realizing she had it upside-down, and jams the head down with 16 seconds to go.  As the doors open, she heads into the Planetarium for a second before finding out she went the wrong way.  Megan heads into the Knights? Barracks, and with eight seconds left, she picks up the EMPTY SPICE JAR!
?She?s GOT it!? shouts Kirk. ?All the doors are open!? Megan heads up into the Laser Light Room, then starts to climb down into the Dragon?s Lair? but we?re out of time!
?She ran out of time, but she got the Spice Jar!? Kirk declares. ?They didn?t get the ski trip, but that means they get the ?R? Us gift cards and the computer encyclopedia.  They both did a great job.  You have fun?? he asks LaDarius.
?Yeah,? he replies.
?They both gave it a great effort, but we gotta get outta here.  Check us out next time for more adventure and another great episode of the Legends of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!? Kirk and LaDarius wave at the camera.  Rooms such as the Switch Inferno, Shrine of the Silver Monkey and Dragon?s Lair? with the Spiritual Scroll of Akhenaten in it? are shown, along with the Moat, as the credits roll.

Rediscovery EP: The Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus
« Reply #4 on: June 09, 2009, 09:02:28 PM »
Temple Run Summary
Episode 49px]

Name of Artifact: The Empty Spice Jar of Christopher Columbus
Season: 2
Layout: 3 (7 overall)
Result: Did not escape in time
Time Remaining: N/A
Team: Orange Iguanas
Pendants Won: 2
Location of Artifact: The Knights' Barracks

Three Orange Iguanas runs in a row? Go figure.  Of course, that means three losses in a row, because the Orange Iguanas didn't record a single victory in all of Season 2.

LaDarius (who, by the way, gets my vote for having the most stereotypically black name in the show's history ) went first, and he wasn't a terrible contestant.  However, when he was taken out in the Crystal Cave in less than a minute, Megan entered.  She was slow-moving, followed LaDarius's path too closely and got confused in many of the rooms.  Naturally, she had trouble in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, and after putting the monkey together, she took a wrong turn into the Planetarium before getting into the Knights' Barracks and grabbing the Spice Jar with eight seconds left.

As time ran out, Megan was entering the Dragon's Lair, preparing to descend through the entire central shaft.  Kirk seemed pretty happy for the team because she got to the Empty Spice Jar, but if she hadn't been so sluggish and dim-witted, she could've recorded an amazing win.
