Legends: The Rediscovery

Episode 48px]

The camera maneuvers through a thick rainforest to stop in front of an ancient temple.  A giant stone head next to the gate of the temple begins to speak:
"LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk appears from behind the Temple Guard door in the Dungeon and runs straight out into the foreground of the stage to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple.  Which legend are we gonna hear about today?"

Olmec replies:
"The Legend of the Chalice of Vasco de Balboa."

"And one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Chalice," Kirk says in response. "Will it be:
"Robert and Madison of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order?
"Brendan and Kayla of the Blue Barracudas,
"Jarrid and Meaghan of the Green Monkeys,
"Chris and Jasmine of the Orange Iguanas,
"Jordan and Victoria of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Zak and Alexis of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "but in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  First, they?ll have to cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today??
"It?s getting cold out here I guess.  I mean, the Moat?s half ice and half water.  When I say go, one player from each team will walk across the ice, climb over the ice wall and then swim through the water until they reach the other side of the Moat.  Then their partner will climb the wall and swim the rest of the way."
"When the second player climbs out onto the deck, it's his job to run over and hit the gong." He slams down on the Red Jaguars' gong to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round.  Are you ready?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"But Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"But of course!" Olmec replies.
"All right," Kirk says in response. "On your mark teams, get set, GO!"

?There they go, climbing the ice crags!? Kirk remarks.  The teams? first players all have their own paces; the boy on the Orange Iguanas takes the lead, followed closely by the boy on the Green Monkeys; the boy on the Silver Snakes is last.  As the Moat goes further on, the murky mess of packing peanuts, green balls from the Great Chasm and foam blocks from the Quicksand Bog becomes harder to walk through; the first players on the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes catch up, while the boys on the Blue Barracudas and Green Monkeys fall further behind.  The first player on the Orange Iguanas holds onto his lead, and is first to hoist himself up and over the three-foot-tall plastic sheet that serves as an ice wall.  The Purple Parrots keep a close second and Silver Snakes third; the pattern remains as the teams get their first players across.
?It?s a tough match!? explains Kirk. ?Tough to make it through all that ice.? Most of the teams get their first players across in fair time, but the boy on the Blue Barracudas is just starting to swim across the Moat as the girls on all the other teams start walking across the murky mess that?s supposed to stand for ice.  He makes it across to the other side just before the girl on the Orange Iguanas starts to pull herself up and over the wall.  After more climbing and swimming, eventually the girls on the Orange Iguanas and Green Monkeys make it across first and second.
?There?s our first two teams!? Kirk announces; the girl on the Purple Parrots makes it out of the Moat and bangs her team?s gong. ?We need one more team?? a gong sound is heard? ?and that?s it!?
The camera switches to Kirk high-fiving the Green Monkeys next to their team?s gong. ?The Green Monkeys are super-excited, they blazed across that icy Moat!? he remarks. ?They?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, and so are the Orange Iguanas?? the camera briefly shows each qualifying team? ?and the Purple Parrots? and the Silver Snakes! The Red Jaguars and the Blue Barracudas gave it a great effort.  They?re not going away empty-handed, we got a great gift for them for playing and here?s what it is.? Robert, Brendan, Kayla and Madison will each be receiving a small prize package provided by Skechers.

Rediscovery EP: The Chalice of Vasco de Balboa
« Reply #1 on: June 07, 2009, 08:55:52 PM »
The four teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Chalice of Vasco de Balboa.  But pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the Legend can bring you one step closer to Olmec's Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the legend:
"Of all the Spanish explorers, none enjoyed the taste of discovery and success more than Vasco N??ez de Balboa.  He grew up as a servant to the Lord of Moguer, who told him about Christopher Columbus?s discovery of the New World, and that was enough for Vasco to want to sail out there.
" 'A whole new world! Who would?ve thought?' he said to himself as he got on the ship, or at least according to legend.  He took the ship out and sailed with his crew to Panam?.  Vasco and crew set up communities on the Caribbean coast, including Santa Mar?a and Nombre de Dios, but that wasn?t enough.
" 'We need more land, more allies, more riches!' he rallied the crew together, and they marched across Panam?, getting allies from the Indian chieftains along the way as they conquered village after village.  Rumor has it Vasco even kept a collection of peace pipes.
" 'Are we there yet?' asked the cabin boy.
" 'You?ve been asking that all?' Vasco began, but he stopped when he saw something in the distance and ran off.  Everyone followed him through the last stretch of jungle and realized Vasco was now standing in a body of water.
" 'All this, the South Sea, I claim it for Spain!' he declared, and thrust his sword into the water.  Legend has it that Vasco later returned for some proof that he found what we know as the Pacific Ocean.  He came back to the ocean with a chalice, filled the chalice with the waters of the Pacific and sailed back to show the king and queen he found a new body of water, but the chalice fell overboard on the trip back.  You must find the Chalice of Vasco de Balboa and bring it here."

"Thank you Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the legend. "So tell us, where is the Chalice?"
Olmec replies:
"The Chalice of Vasco de Balboa? is in the Mine Shaft." The camera zooms in on the Chalice positioned on the edge of the raised platform where all the rocks are, then fades back to Kirk.

"Teams," Kirk begins, walking down the steps, "you're now standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in a minute, Olmec will ask you a question.  If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you.  If you're right, you're gonna move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance to answer.  The first two teams to make it to the bottom step will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple.  Olmec, we're ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:
?Did Vasco de Balboa discover the: Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean or Arct???
Chris stomps down and guesses quickly: ?Atlantic Ocean???
?Incorrect,? returns Olmec.
Jarrid rings in: ?Pacific Ocean.?
?Correct,? Olmec replies.
?Nice job, Green Monkeys, step down,? says Kirk, and the Green Monkeys move down to the second step. ?Next question.?
Olmec then asks:
?To get to the Pacific Ocean, did Vasco pass through: Panam?, Guatemala???
Jasmine hits the marking first: ?Panam?!?
?Correct,? Olmec answers.
?Now the Orange Iguanas are on the board! Step down!? remarks Kirk, and the Orange Iguanas join the Green Monkeys on the second level. ?Olmec, next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Were Lord of Moguer and Vasco: Father and son, Brothers or Master and servant??
After a second, Jasmine gongs in again: ?Father and son???
?Incorrect,? replies Olmec.
Jarrid stomps in: ?Master and servant???
?That is correct,? Olmec says in response.
?Green Monkeys now just one step away from the Temple Games,? Kirk says as the Green Monkeys move down to the penultimate level, ?but we?re looking for two teams.  Next question, Olmec.?
Olmec now asks:
?When Vasco found the Pacific Ocean, did he call it the: West Sea, South Sea or North???
Chris cuts off Olmec this time: ?South Sea.?
?That is correct,? Olmec replies.
?Orange Iguanas also one step away from the Games,? comments Kirk as the Orange Iguanas move down. ?Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes can still get into this.  Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Was Vasco inspired by the voyages of: John Cabot, Christopher Columb???
Alexis interrupts Olmec: ?Columbus!?
?Correct,? replies Olmec.
?Silver Snakes on the board, step down!? says Kirk.  The Silver Snakes move down to the second step. ?Purple Parrots can join them.  Olmec, next question, please.?
Olmec continues:
?Is Panam? part of: North America, South America or Central America??
Victoria buzzes in: ?Central America???
?Correct,? says Olmec in response.
?Purple Parrots move down to the second step, everybody?s in!? comments Kirk as the Purple Parrots hop down alongside the Silver Snakes. ?Let?s keep going.?
Olmec?s next question is:
?Did Vasco de Balboa sail in the name of: France, Spain or Italy??
Alexis rings in again: ?Italy???
?Incorrect.?
Victoria stomps down and guesses: ?Spain???
?That is correct,? Olmec replies.
?Purple Parrots also one step away from the Temple Games,? Kirk says as the Purple Parrots join the Orange Iguanas and Green Monkeys on the second-to-last step. ?It?s anybody?s game now.  Olmec, next question.?
Olmec asks:
?According to legend, did Vasco fill the Chalice with water from the Pacific to: Prove he?d been there, See how it tasted or???
Meaghan interrupts Olmec with a stomp: ?He wanted to? prove he?d seen the Pacific???
Olmec pauses briefly, then shouts:
?That is correct!?
The Green Monkeys jump down and high-ten three times.
?Green Monkeys the first team going on to the Temple Games!? Kirk announces. ?We?re looking for one more team, will it be the Orange Iguanas, Purple Parrots or Silver Snakes? Olmec, continue.?
Olmec does so by asking:
?Vasco de Balboa conquered many Indian villages in Panam? on his way through.  For his feats, could he be considered a: Matador, Conquistador or Luchador??
As Olmec gives the third choice, Jasmine buzzes in: ?Conquistador.?
?That is correct!? yells Olmec, and the Orange Iguanas move around the Green Monkeys and hop down onto the final step.
?That?s it! We have our two teams going on to the Temple Games!? Kirk announces, slipping in behind the two qualifying teams. ?They are the Green Monkeys and the Orange Iguanas! For the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes? you guys gave it a great effort too, but came up short? we got a great gift for you and here?s what it is.? Jordan, Victoria, Zak and Alexis will each be receiving a copy of the Sonic Riders Nintendo GameCube game.
The camera switches back to show Kirk standing with the Green Monkeys and Orange Iguanas at the bottom of the Steps of Knowledge. ?These two teams will be playing to enter Olmec?s Temple,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera focuses in on one of the tiny lizards on the front wall of the Temple just outside the Dragon?s Lair before fading to commercial.

Rediscovery EP: The Chalice of Vasco de Balboa
« Reply #2 on: June 07, 2009, 09:07:00 PM »
Kirk is standing in front of the Mine Shaft between the two remaining teams. ?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let?s hear it for Jarrid and Meaghan of the Green Monkeys!? The short-haired boy and short brunette girl clap along with the audience. ?And Chris and Jasmine of the Orange Iguanas!? The short, brown-haired boy with glasses and the Asian girl with her hair in a braided ponytail clap along with the audience.
?You guys ready to play?? asks Kirk.
?YEAH!? The players reply.
?Okay, go get ready for the Temple Games,? Kirk says, pointing in different directions, and the players walk offscreen. ?In the Temple Games, each team is competing for?" he opens a pouch and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "those Pendants of Life.  The winning team?ll need them to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through Olmec?s Temple.  There are three Temple Games.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #1.?

Olmec begins:
?Vasco de Balboa sailed across the Atlantic Ocean and set up colonies in Panam? for Spain.  In this game, your voyage will be? slightly shorter.  When Kirk gives the signal, sail to the island and, without touching the water, mount your flag on the island.  Then, turn and pull yourself back to the dock.
?The first player to mount their flag and return with their feet on the dock? or the player that?s furthest along after 30 seconds? wins.?
?Time to set sail,? Kirk says, standing in the middle of the dock. ?Set the clock for 30 seconds.? A countdown clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?On your marks, get set, GO!?
Both Jarrid and Jasmine swerve quite a bit on their way down to the islands, but they don?t end up extremely off-course by any means.  Jasmine is a little faster at paddling the boat down, however, and she manages to get to the island with :21 left, a little sooner than Jarrid does.  It takes him a little longer to turn around after he mounts the flag as well, but he pulls the rope a bit faster than he paddled down.  However, he doesn?t speed up quite enough to close the gap and take the lead; Jasmine gets back to the dock with a full eight seconds left without once changing her pace.
?That?s it!? announces Kirk, gesturing for Jarrid.  Jarrid simply jumps out of his boat and walks up the dock. ?Jasmine made it back here before time ended.  That gives her and the Orange Iguanas a half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds briefly. ?Green Monkeys can catch up in this next game, it?s worth a half Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #2.?

Olmec continues:
?Vasco de Balboa had to travel through the Panamanian jungle to get to the Pacific Ocean, and he never knew when he might enter Indian territory, so he had to be armed and ready to fight.  In this game, you will play the role of Vasco going through Panam?, and the wooden sword you have must stay with you.  When Kirk gives the signal, put the sword behind your head and make your way through the jungle.  Whenever you come to two trees, you must find a way to maneuver between or around them, keeping your sword behind your head and both of your hands on it.
?The first player to reach the shore at the end of the jungle? or the player that?s further along at the end of 60 seconds? wins.?
?It?s a jungle in there, welcome to the jungle,? Kirk jokes as Meaghan and Chris pick up their rods. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.? The clock then appears in the corner of the screen. ?On your marks, get set, GO!?
Both players move swiftly through their respective forests.  For the first ten seconds or so, Chris is in the lead, but Meaghan starts to get the hang of the Temple Game and picks up the pace as she goes on.  Chris, in the meantime, gets held up in several tight spots, but Meaghan wins the game with a good 33 seconds on the clock.  Chris is only a little bit behind her as Kirk comes onscreen to declare the winner.
?That?s it! Man, you guys are fast!? Kirk laughs as he stands and faces the camera with his hand on Meaghan?s shoulder. ?Meaghan, the Green Monkeys, they got through that jungle first.  That gives them the half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds again. ?So it?s all tied up, a half Pendant apiece.  We go to the third and final game, which is worth a whole Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #3.?

Olmec narrates:
?Once the Spanish set up colonies in places like Panam?, they were able to bring goods from those places back to Spain.  In this game, you?re going to ship a few treasures as well.  When Kirk gives the signal, grab a gold treasure and run out to meet your partner at the middle of the path.  Then pass the treasure to your partner, who will slide back and place it in your team?s treasure box.  Then go back and do it again!
?The team with the most pieces of gold in their treasure box after 60 seconds wins.?
?All tied up, half Pendant apiece,? Kirk reminds the audience.  ?Let?s set the clock for 60 seconds.? The clock appears in the corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
?There they go!? Kirk remarks as the players work their ways towards one another, pulling against the bungee cords connecting their backs to the walls behind them and using the handholds in the raised tracks on their sides.  The Orange Iguanas make contact with 46 seconds left; they slowly slide back to their ends? Chris grabs another treasure, while Jasmine puts the first one in the team?s bin with 42 seconds remaining, just as the Green Monkeys make contact.
?This is tough, you gotta? work against the bungee cords? it?s tough,? Kirk explains as the teams go in towards one another again.  The Orange Iguanas make contact again with only 32 seconds left, but the Green Monkeys aren?t even close to each other at that time.  They make contact for the second time as the Orange Iguanas make contact a third time, with about 17 seconds to go.  In the last few seconds, Jasmine loses her grip and ends up sliding back into the wall before she can meet up with Chris.  When time runs out, a pattern of ceiling spotlights flashes to indicate the Temple Game is over.
?All right, time?s up!? announces Kirk.  He appears onscreen and goes in between the raised tracks to grab the bins as spotters unfasten the harnesses the players were wearing.  The players walk over to meet Kirk as soon as they?re free. ?The Green Monkeys got?? he counts up the scores as he pulls out the pieces of treasure? ?one, two pieces of gold.  Orange Iguanas got one, two? three pieces of gold! They get the full Pendant, giving them a Pendant and a half? they?re going to the Temple!? Chris and Jasmine hug for a few seconds while Kirk goes to talk with the Green Monkeys. ?Great job by the Green Monkeys, only came up a little bit short.  We got a great gift for you both and here?s what it is.? Jarrid and Meaghan will each be receiving a copy of Monster House on DVD.
The camera cuts back to Kirk with the Orange Iguanas in front of the equipment for the third Temple Game. ?The Orange Iguanas fought hard, and now we?ll see them try to make it through Olmec?s Temple, retrieve that Chalice of Vask of Balboa,? says Kirk, ?right after this!? The camera rushes across a clearing in the Temple Games arena and zooms in on the Chalice in the Mine Shaft before fading to commercial.

Rediscovery EP: The Chalice of Vasco de Balboa
« Reply #3 on: June 07, 2009, 09:09:00 PM »
Kirk stands in front of the Temple's stairs next to Chris and Jasmine. "Welcome back," he says to the camera before turning around to talk to Olmec. "Olmec!" he shouts. "Chris and Jasmine have proven themselves worthy and earned the right to enter your Temple.  Can you offer them any clues about the Temple to help them retrieve the Chalice of Vasco de Balboa?"
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Crevasse and climbing down into the Mine Shaft, where you can grab the Chalice of Vasco de Balboa.  Throw enough rocks into the bucket to lift the slab, then race into the Crystal Cave.  Pull down the correct icicle, and you could choose to go up into the Dragon?s Lair, or into the Junction of the Secret Shafts.  If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Switch Inferno.  Hit the right actuator to go upstairs, or plow through the wall and into the Abandoned Cave.
?There, climb up the ladder into the Planetarium, and spin the correct sphere to open the door? to the Shrine? of the Silver Monkey.  Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Knights? Barracks.  Place the sword in the correct sheath, but be careful? one of the suits of armor could be possessed by the spirit of a Temple Guard! If they grab you, you'll have to give up a Pendant of Life! Next, race up to the Laser Light Room, find the right combination to unleash the power of the laser, and run across the Bridge.  Then, pass through the Room of Temple Gongs, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate.  The choices are yours and yours alone.? Olmec pauses for a second here. "You won 1 ? Pendants in the Temple Games.  Who's going first??
"I am!" shouts Chris eagerly.
"Very well, Chris!" replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Chalice.  Hidden inside the Temple are three ventilation shafts that let out in the Junction of the Secret Shafts, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms.  You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and then it'll be Jasmine's turn to enter and try her luck.  Hidden somewhere in the Temple is the other half of your Pendant.  If you can find it and you're carrying the other half, you will get an extra life.  If you can reach the Chalice, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish.  Return through the gates with the Chalice of Vasco de Balboa in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!"
?   For just making it into the Temple, they?re both going to get a camping package from Outdoor Products.
?   If they can grab the Chalice within three minutes, they?re also going to get Compton?s Interactive Encyclopedia on CD-ROM, provided by Compton?s New Media.
?   And if they can bring the Chalice out of the Temple before 3 minutes is up, they?ll both be cruising to the Bahamas! A four-day cruise aboard Norwegian Cruise Line, with two pools, volleyball and basketball courts.  Norwegian Cruise Line.  It?s different out there.  A four-day cruise to the Bahamas, for a prize package totaling $14,270!

"Sounds great, let's see if they can make it to the Bahamas!" Kirk says before turning to Chris. "Let?s get you out in front here.  Mouthpieces in.  Let?s drop the gate down, Olmec!"
Olmec hums as he lowers the gate.
"Three minutes on the clock." The clock appears onscreen. "On your mark, get set, GO!"

?There, up into the Temple!? Kirk yells as Chris disappears behind the Temple Gate.  He slides down into the Crevasse and starts to go across to the proper crawl tube, but his feet are pulled out from underneath him by a TEMPLE GUARD!
?Oh! Temple Guard, right off the bat!? Kirk shouts. ?Give ?im the Pendant, and you can move on!? Chris gets the Pendant off his wrist and gives it over to the Temple Guard with 2:48 left.  He tries the upper crawl tube leaving the Crevasse and then the lower one, but neither one works.  He then climbs back up and leaves the Crevasse with 2:33 on the clock, going for the Room of Temple Gongs. ?He?s gotta gong the gongs to go on.? Chris goes to the front of the room and starts with the stage-right gong, then moves left.  The fourth one he hits opens the door into the Bridge, and he turns and looks before leaving the gongs and heading out into the Bridge with 2:20 to go.  He runs across, hits the actuator and takes the half Pendant from it to show to Jasmine before setting it down in the doorway leaving the Bridge.  Chris then runs up into the Laser Light Room, but as he kneels down to work on the room objective, out comes the second TEMPLE GUARD!
?Oh! Temple Guard! Go Jasmine!? remarks Kirk as the second Temple Guard appears.  Jasmine heads into the Temple with 2:10 on the clock.  She bypasses the Crevasse and instead chooses to start in the Room of Temple Gongs.  At the 1:53 mark, she picks up the Pendant half Chris left at the foot of the Bridge for her.
?She?s got the other half Pendant!? Kirk announces as Jasmine picks it up, and the audience cheers louder. ?She?s got an extra life as she goes into the Laser Life Room!? Jasmine kneels down in front of the metallic column in the Laser Light Room with 1:45 on the clock and starts to turn the segments of the column.  As she gets each into the proper position, the glass piece on the segment lights up.  At 1:23, the column is fully aligned, and the dome on top emits a white light.  Jasmine moves on through the open door into the Knights? Barracks.
?She?s got a great big path ahead of her, but this is a smart Orange Iguanas team!? remarks Kirk. ?Chris the footballer, Jasmine the gymnast, they can do it all.? Jasmine grabs the sword from the front of the room and puts into the sheaths, starting stage-right and moving left.  The middle sheath opens the door, but Jasmine tries the leftmost one before she goes into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 1:10 to go.
?Into the Room of the Silver Monkey, where she?s gonna have to make up for lost time!? Kirk comments as Jasmine moves on.
?Go! GO!? Chris starts to shout over and over.  Jasmine goes to the back of the room to grab the base of the statue, but she?s met by the last TEMPLE GUARD!
?Quick! Give ?im the Pendant!? Kirk shouts, and Jasmine gives the two Pendant halves over after a little difficulty. ?She had the extra half, she has an extra life! One minute left, Jasmine!? With exactly a minute remaining, Jasmine hands over both Pendant halves and goes on to work on the statue.  She grabs the pieces one at a time; the base has a corner that?s not pushed down, but Jasmine puts the middle on top of it anyway.  The middle, however, is turned about halfway around from where it should be, yet she sticks the pole the head?s attached to through the hole in the middle anyway.
?She?s got the base? crooked,? Kirk comments. ?The middle?s crooked, it?s all crooked! Jasmine, turn it around! You gotta turn it all around!? At the 0:36 mark, Jasmine realizes the base is off, but then when she spins the middle around, it takes the head with it, so the head never quite falls into place.
?Turn the belly around!? yells Kirk; Jasmine looks at her for a second.  She holds down the base and then turns the middle back into position with 23 seconds left. ?Now turn the head and jam it down! Hurry!? Jasmine turns the head, and jams it into the base with 0:17 remaining.  The doors into the Abandoned Cave and the Switch Inferno open, but the door leading into the Planetarium does not.
?All right! Into the Abandoned Dungeon? I mean, the Fiery Switch Room!? Jasmine almost enters the Abandoned Cave, but changes her mind and goes into the Switch Inferno from the Shrine (0:11!).  She hits the four actuators on the back wall, the fourth opening the door into the Junction of the Secret Shafts (0:06!!) Jasmine crawls through into the next room? but we?re out of time!
?Aw, she ran out of time, and she was only two rooms away!? Kirk remarks. ?Chris did a great job, Jasmine gave it a nice try? she got holed up in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, but she really gave it a great effort, they both did.  We gotta go, but they still get the camping gear.  Check out next time for more adventure and another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!? Kirk and Chris start to talk to each other, and the camera shows rooms such as the Shrine of the Silver Monkey and the Mine Shaft as the credits roll.

This was a fairly typical Season 2 loss up until the last third.  Chris wasn't a bad Temple Runner outside of his attempt to beeline for the artifact placed only two rooms into the Temple.  He waved the half Pendant at Jasmine and put it a little more in-the-open to ensure she'd pick it up.  After he was taken out of the Laser Light Room with 2:10 remaining, Jasmine went in at a sluggish pace and got the half-Pendant, which she'd need in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.

Speaking of the Shrine, that's where disaster struck.  In fact, I consider this the first episode in the show where a player has any real trouble with the statue.  After she spent ten seconds fiddling with the Pendant halves she had to give to the third guard, Jasmine spent 43 seconds trying to put the monkey together.  She got a lucky break in the Switch Inferno, but it was too little, too late.  This could've been a great win if Jasmine hadn't gone at a snail's pace throughout.

Trivia and Records:
Jasmine's assembly of the silver monkey is the slowest completion to date.  However, this was also the first episode where an artifact was located in either half of a divided pit area; artifacts would only placed so a total of three times in Season 2.

That's a smart idea, having the artifact in the Pit room since you can make them go across the top.

Just a thought, shouldn't like a group of four or five episodes have the same moat crossing? That's how the production was like, right?

Or are your episodes in airing order instead of production order?

I'm posting them in airing order.  They do have a production order that's different, though, so there will be three more episodes for each of the Layout VII Moat crossings you've already seen.
