Legends: The Rediscovery

Episode 42px]

The camera maneuvers through a thick rainforest to stop in front of an ancient temple.  A giant stone head next to the gate of the temple begins to speak:
"LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk appears from behind the Temple Guard door in the Dungeon and runs straight out into the foreground of the stage to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple.  Which legend are we gonna hear about today?"

Olmec replies:
"The Stained Coat of Fran?ois l?Ollonais."

"Oh, the Stained Coat of Francis Loll-o-naise!" Kirk says in response. "Well, the legend is set, and one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Stained Coat.  Will it be:
"Lance and Kristine of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order?
"Walter and Mandy of the Blue Barracudas,
"Tyrone and Haley of the Green Monkeys,
"Hector and Tanya of the Orange Iguanas,
"Chris and Lyndsey of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Damon and Elizabeth of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll need to pass some physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  First they must cross the Moat, and here's how they'll do it today:
"In front of each team there's a bridge of Arctic rings that stretches across the Moat.  When I say go, one player from each team will start crawling across the floating rings until he reaches the other side of the Moat.  Then his partner'll start climbing across the floating ring bridge til he gets to the other side."
"As soon as the second player steps onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit their light pedestal." He slams down on the Red Jaguars' gong to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the Steps of Knowledge? ARE YOU READY!"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Monsieur Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"Wait, wait, it?s on the tip of my tongue?" Olmec replies. "Yes, I?m ready."
"All right," Kirk replies, suppressing a laugh. "On your mark, get set, GO!"

The teams? first players take off at varying speeds, and after about fifteen seconds, the boy on the Orange Iguanas is the first player to make it across the bridge of rings and step onto the deck.  The girl on the Red Jaguars is the next player to reach the other side of the Moat, immediately followed by the female Blue Barracuda.  The girl on the Green Monkeys scrambles off the last section of the floating bridge a few seconds later.  The boys on the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes have a little trouble, almost falling into the holes in the middle of the rings, but they make it out not too long after the girl on the Green Monkeys.
?This is really tough to do,? Kirk comments. ?It takes some real concentration to get through those bridges, and we got one team across!? The boy on the Red Jaguars scrambles off the end of the ring bridge and runs over to hit his team?s gong.  The girl on the Orange Iguanas hits her team?s gong a few seconds later. ?There?s two teams,? Kirk exclaims, ?but we still need two more!? After a while longer, the boy on the Blue Barracudas makes it to the other side and hits the gong, ?And one more team!? Thanks to the second players on the Green Monkeys and Purple Parrots delaying a bit, the girl on the Silver Snakes makes it across and hits her gong.
?And that?s it!? Kirk shouts, and the camera shows him standing with the Red Jaguars around their lit-up gong. ?These guys made it across first, did a great job getting across the Moat.  They?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Blue Barracudas?? the camera briefly shows each qualifying team? ?and the Orange Iguanas? and the Silver Snakes! The Green Monkeys and the Purple Parrots gave it a great effort too.  We got a great gift for them for playing and here?s what it is.? Chris, Lyndsey, Tyrone and Haley will each be receiving a copy of Monster House on DVD.

Rediscovery EP: The Stained Coat of Fran?ois l?Ollonais
« Reply #1 on: July 23, 2007, 03:50:54 PM »
The four teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "The quest continues, and now time for Olmec to tell us about the Stained Coat of Fran-saw la Nay.  But pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the Legend can bring you one step closer to Olmec's Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the legend:
"One of the most cunning pirates of the mid-1600?s was Fran?ois l?Ollonais.  He was born in Les Sables-d?Olonne on the west coast of France and used the town?s name as his own last name.  He was originally an indentured servant, but once his term was up, he decided to become a pirate.  He wasn?t the best captain at first, however.  One day he and his crew were shipwrecked and washed ashore on the coast of Mexico.
"'Mon dieu!' despaired Jacques the cabin boy. 'Our food, it is gone and our ship, she is destroyed! What do we do, mon capitaine?'
"'Spanish soldiers approaching, mon capitaine!' shouted the lookout from the crow?s nest.  Sure enough, Spanish soldiers were marching toward Fran?ois and his crew.
"'We must stand and fight!' Fran?ois shouted.  His crew members attacked back on his command, but most of them were killed in the battle.  Fran?ois was worried that he?d be done away with as well, so he covered himself in the spilled blood of his crewmates and played dead.  The soldiers thought they had killed the brave captain and left, but in fact Fran?ois was still alive.
"'Capitaine, your coat!' the lookout remarked once the soldiers had left.  The blood Fran?ois covered himself in had left permanent stains in his coat.
"'I don?t think I?ll be needing it,' Fran?ois replied.  He tossed his coat into the sea, and eventually it found its way to the Temple.  You must find the Bloodstained Coat of Fran?ois l?Ollonais and bring it here."

"Thank you Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the legend. "So Olmec, where is this Stained Coat?"
Olmec replies:
"The Bloodstained Coat can be found in the Knights? Barracks." The camera zooms in on the Stained Coat hanging over the railing in the Knights? Barracks, then fades back to Kirk.

"Teams," Kirk begins, walking down the steps, "you're standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in a minute, Olmec will ask you a question.  When you think you know the answer, stomp down on that ancient marking in front of you.  If you're right, you can move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or you run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance.  The first two teams to make it to the bottom step are one step closer to Olmec's Temple.  All right Olmec, we're ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:
?Was Fran?ois l?Ollonais: A hunter, A pirate, or A king??
As Olmec is saying the third choice, Walter buzzes in: ?A pirate.?
?That is correct,? replies Olmec.
?Nice job, Blue Barracudas, step down,? Kirk says, and Walter and his partner Mandy move down a step. ?Good move waiting to hear all the choices before you say your choice.  Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Fran?ois l?Ollonais took his name from his birthplace, Les Sables-d?Olonne.  Is Les Sables-d?Olonne a town in: Spain, France, or Gree???
Lance doesn?t stomp down hard enough on the marking, so Damon rings in first: ?France.?
?You are correct,? Olmec answers, and so the Silver Snakes move down to the second step.
?Remember you have to step down hard if you wanna ring in,? Kirk reminds the teams. ?Olmec, next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?According to our legend, where did Fran?ois and his crew end up shipwrecked???
Elizabeth stomps in and frantically answers: ?Umm? the coast? o-of Mexico?? The coast of Mexico.?
After a momentary pause, Olmec replies:
?That is correct.?
?Nice job, Silver Snakes, step down,? Kirk says as Damon and Elizabeth high-five, ?you?re now just one step away from the Temple Games.  We?re looking for two teams.  Next question.?
Olmec continues:
?While Fran?ois and his crew were shipwrecked, were they attacked by: British soldiers???
Tanya hits the marking first: ?No, they were attacked by Spanish soldiers.?
?Correct,? answers Olmec, and the Orange Iguanas move down to the second step.
?The Red Jaguars are still lookin? to score,? comments Kirk. ?Next question Olmec.?
Olmec then asks:
?Did Fran?ois l?Ollonais force the Spanish soldiers to leave by: Killing their leader, Pretending to be dead???
Damon gongs in and guesses: ?He? played dead by covering himself in th??
?That is correct!? Olmec shouts even before Damon is finished giving his answer, and the Silver Snakes move down to the bottommost level.
?There?s our first team going to the Temple Games!? Kirk announces as Damon and Elizabeth high-five each other. ?It?s the Silver Snakes! Looking for one more team, still got plenty of time.  Let?s keep going.?
Olmec does so by asking:
?Fran?ois l?Ollonais was a pirate that mostly attacked Spanish ships.  Was he a: Corsair, Privateer, or Buccaneer??
After a second of no one trying to answer, Walter rings in: ?Privateer???
?Incorrect,? Olmec says in response.
Hector then rings in: ?Buccaneer???
?That is correct,? answers Olmec, and the Orange Iguanas move down to the third step.
?Orange Iguanas are now just one step away from joining the Silver Snakes,? Kirk narrates. ?But the Blue Barracudas and Red Jaguars can catch up.  Next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?Which of these can be found in a pirate?s treasure???
Kristine hits the marking first: ?Gold???
?That is not one of our three choices,? Olmec says after a brief pause. ?The three choices are: Doubloons, Triploons, or Dragoons.?
Mandy buzzes in: ?Doubloons!?
?That is correct? is Olmec?s response, and the Blue Barracudas promptly move down onto the third level beside the Orange Iguanas.
?The Blue Barracudas are now just one step away from the Temple Games and are tied up with the Orange Iguanas,? Kirk explains. ?Still time for the Red Jaguars.  Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Which of these is the small basket high on a ship?s mast where the lookout???
Hector is the first one to ring in: ?Umm? the crow?s nest???
?That is correct!? Olmec shouts, and the Orange Iguanas jump down onto the bottom step.
?All right, we got our two teams!? Kirk announces, running onscreen to stand near the teams. ?The Silver Snakes and the Orange Iguanas are gonna go head-to-head in the Temple Games! Red Jaguars, Blue Barracudas, c?mon down here.? Kirk walks up onto the bottom step as the Red Jaguars and the Blue Barracudas move in toward him. ?These teams gave it a great effort too.  We got a great gift for them and here?s what it is.? Lance, Kristine, Mandy and Walter will each be receiving a backpack provided by Eastpak.
Kirk is now standing on the bottom level between the Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes. ?These two teams?ll be playing to enter Olmec?s Temple,? he says, ?and they?ll do that right after this!? The camera pans across some sections of the audience before fading to commercial.

Rediscovery EP: The Stained Coat of Fran?ois l?Ollonais
« Reply #2 on: July 23, 2007, 03:52:06 PM »
The camera segues from a close-up on the Stained Coat of Fran?ois l?Ollonais to Kirk standing in front of the Junction of the Secret Shafts between the Orange Iguanas and the Silver Snakes. ?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?Now the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let?s meet our team players.? He turns to interview the strawberry blond girl just stage-left of him. ?On the Silver Snakes, we have Elizabeth.  How old are you??
?Thirteen,? she replies.
?And you?re into swimming and cheerleading but it says here you also wanna be a video producer,? Kirk reads on the index card in his hand. ?Tell me about that.?
?Umm,? Elizabeth explains, ?I like to go around in my neighborhood and make videos with my friends, I have an account on YouTube, and other than that, I just like making videos.
?Well that?s a perfect reason to wanna be something, just cause you like it,? Kirk comments as he goes to interview the brown-haired boy on the far left of the screen. ?And Damon, how old are you??
?Fifteen,? he says in response.
?And I understand you like soccer and bowling and you?re also great at playing video games,? Kirk reads on his index card. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well,? Damon explains, ?I have the? Nintendo NES from the early 90?s or something, and I play the? um, Mega Man 3 and I can beat the whole game in 47 minutes.  It?s the longest Mega Man game for the Nintendo.?
?Forty-seven minutes!? says Kirk. ?That?s fast, I think we got a fast team here.  Let?s hear it for the Silver Snakes!? The audience applauds for a moment as Kirk turns to interview the curly-dark-haired girl just right of center screen. ?And on the Orange Iguanas, this is Tanya.  How old are you??
?I?m twelve,? she says as a response.
?And it says here you like to play soccer and you?re also good at archery?? Kirk says. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well,? Tanya replies, ?I go to a summer camp every year, they always have archery and for some reason I?m good at hitting the bull?s-eye, I dunno why.?
?Must be some? natural accuracy, that might help out in these Temple Games,? Kirk says as he goes to interview the dark-haired boy on the far right of the screen. ?And Hector, how old are you??
?Thirteen,? he answers.
?And I hear you?re learning to play the acoustic guitar, but you?re also studying aikido,? Kirk reads. ?Tell me about that.?
?I?ve been taking it for a year,? he explains, ?I?m at a goky? rank, that?s five ranks below first-degree black belt, and the guy who founded aikido, they say there were these five huge heavy guys that attacked him and then suddenly they were all stacked on his arm.?
?Sounds like a tough martial art,? Kirk comments. ?Let?s hear it for the Orange Iguanas!? The audience applauds again.

?All right! You ready to play?? asks Kirk.
?YEAH!? The players shout their reply.
?Okay then, go get ready for the Temple Games,? Kirk says, and the players walk offscreen in different directions. ?In the Temple Games, teams are competing to win?" he opens a pouch and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "those Pendants of Life.  They?ll need those Pendants to protect them from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple.  There are three Temple Games.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #1.?

Immediately, Olmec begins:
?Just like Fran?ois l?Ollonais did, you must defeat an army of Spanish soldiers.  When Kirk gives the signal, lob a cannonball at one of the soldiers sitting on the wall.  Then, put another cannonball in the slingshot and try it again.
?The first player to knock down all four of their soldiers? or the one who?s knocked over the most soldiers after 60 seconds? wins.?
?Okay, just let me get outta the way first,? Kirk says, running over to the sidelines. ?They?re gonna be knockin? down some soldiers.  Let?s set the clock for 60 seconds.? A countdown clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
Tanya and Damon lock and load, and Tanya knocks a target down on the first try.  However, Damon quickly catches up and has two targets knocked down within the first five attempts, as does Tanya.  The players are neck-and-neck all the way through though, since they both have a little trouble getting the cannonballs to actually fire rather than just fall out of the slingshot.  Neither can knock down all their targets before the minute is up; they each get in sixteen tries before a pattern of ceiling spotlights flashes to indicate that the Temple Game is over.
?Okay, let?s count ?em up,? Kirk says, walking back onscreen as Tanya and Damon stop firing. ?So, the Orange Iguanas knocked down three soldiers, she says she?s a crack shot, but the Silver Snakes knocked down three also.  It?s a tie? we gotta give both teams the half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds for a moment. ?So it?s tied up at a half Pendant apiece, and this next game is worth a half Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about it.?

Without wasting any time, Olmec continues:
?It wasn?t always easy for a pirate to steal treasure; they?d often have to track a shipment for a while.  In this game, you must follow a shipment of gold through nine Caribbean locations: Tortuga? Dominica? Port Royal? Maracaibo? Portobelo? The Gulf of Mexico? Hispaniola? Nassau? and Havana.
?In a moment, you?ll be shown a secret sequence.  When Kirk gives the signal, you?ll place your stopper into what you think is the first hole in the sequence.  If you?re right, nothing will happen, and you?ll leave your stopper where it is.  But, if you?re wrong, you?ll be squirted with Caribbean seawater, then you?ll remove your stopper and try again.
?The player that correctly locates the gold shipment the most times wins.?
?We?re not gonna set the clock for this one,? Kirk explains. ?Olmec, show us the sequence.?
The Steps of Knowledge music starts to play, and Olmec begins:
?Gulf of Mexico??
On each player?s podium, a stream of water squirts from the leftmost hole in the bottom row.
?Havana?? continues Olmec, and water squirts from the rightmost hole in the bottom row on each podium.
?Dominica?? A stream of water emerges from the second leftmost hole in the top row of each podium.
?Tortuga?? Leftmost hole of the top row.
?Maracaibo?? Second rightmost hole in the top row.
?Portobelo?? Rightmost hole on the top row.
?Hispaniola?? Bottom row, second from the left.
?Port Royal?? Dead center in the top row.
?And Nassau.? Finally, water squirts from the hole on the bottom row located third from the left.
?All right, now we?ve seen the sequence,? Kirk says. ?Players, grab the first stoppers and make your first choice.? Elizabeth and Hector both grab the first stoppers and each covers the hole on their podium marked ?Gulf of Mexico.?
?Okay, both chose Gulf of Mexico? let?s make the reveal,? says Kirk.  No water appears. ?They?re both right! Take another stopper, make another choice.? After a second, both players place a second stopper over ?Havana.?
?They both chose Havana,? Kirk narrates. ?Let?s make the reveal.? Again, no water appears. ?They?re both right again, so leave your stoppers where they are, take another one and let?s make another choice.? Hector and Elizabeth both pick ?Dominica.?
?Hector says Dominica, Elizabeth says Dominica,? Kirk summarizes. ?Let?s make the reveal.? No water. ?They?re both right again, they each got three points.  Make another choice.? This time they choose differently; Elizabeth chooses ?Tortuga? while Hector selects ?Maracaibo.?
?This is where we part company,? Kirk remarks. ?Let?s make a reveal.? Water squirts Hector from the Tortuga hole, whereas Elizabeth is not squirted. ?Silver Snake scored on that one, Orange Iguana didn?t.  You can take out your stopper and make another choice,? Kirk tells Hector.  Elizabeth places her fifth stopper in ?Portobelo? while Hector, after a second, relocates his fourth stopper in ?Portobelo? as well.
?Okay, both chose Portobelo,? Kirk tells the audience. ?Let?s make the reveal.? Water squirts both players from the Maracaibo hole. ?Okay, they?re both wrong on that one? let?s make another choice.? Elizabeth, after a second with her hand on the stopper, decides to leave it where it is, while Hector chooses the hole marked ?Port Royal.?
?Silver Snakes sticking with Portobelo,? says Kirk, ?Orange Snakes going with Port Royale? I mean, Port Royal.  Let?s make it reveal.? Water squirts Hector from the Portobelo hole, but Elizabeth remains dry. ?Silver Snakes scored again! Make another choice.? Elizabeth places her stopper in the Nassau hole, but Hector leaves his in the Port Royal hole.
?Silver Snake think the shipment?s in Nassau, Orange Iguana in Port Royal,? narrates Kirk. ?Let?s make the reveal.? Both players are squirted by a stream of water in the hole marked ?Hispaniola.? Elizabeth moves a stray lock of hair away from her goggles. ?Nobody scored that time,? Kirk comments. ?Make another choice.? Elizabeth puts her stopper in the Port Royal hole, while Hector moves his to the Nassau hole.
?Orange Iguanas chose Nassau this time, Silver Snakes chose Port Royal,? Kirk explains. ?Where in the world is Fran-saw Low-nay? Let?s make the reveal.? Elizabeth stays dry again, but water squirts Hector from the hole marked ?Port Royal.?
?Okay, make one last choice,? Kirk says.  Hector leaves his stopper in the Nassau hole, and Elizabeth moves hers to the Nassau hole. ?Here comes the reveal.? Neither player is squirted.
?Okay, they?re both right and that?s it!? says Kirk, preparing to count up the number of stoppers on each board. ?Orange Iguanas had four correct guesses, Silver Snakes had? seven correct guesses! The Silver Snakes win the half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds again. ?So Orange Iguanas have a half Pendant, Silver Snakes have a full Pendant, but this is the third and final game and it?s worth a full Pendant.  Olmec, tell us.?

Olmec narrates:
?Like most pirates, Fran?ois l?Ollonais stole treasures from several faraway countries.  While we don?t want to promote anything illegal, you?re going to ship a few treasures as well.  When Kirk gives the signal, grab a gold treasure and run out to meet your partner at the middle of the path.  Then pass the treasure to your partner, who will slide back and place it in your team?s treasure box.  Then go back and do it again!
?The team with the most pieces of gold in their treasure box after 60 seconds wins.?
?This is for the Temple,? Kirk reminds the audience.  Let?s set the clock for 60 seconds.? The clock appears in the corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
The players grab onto the raised sides of the tracks and carefully walk against the force of the bungee cords attaching them to the walls behind them.  Each player slid back at least a few times since the bungee cord wasn?t incredibly long; however, each team did score a few times before the end of the game, signified by a pattern of flashing spotlights.
?All right!? Kirk shouts as he walks into the space between the tracks and looks into the treasure boxes.  As soon as the players are unfastened from their equipment, they run over to join Kirk. ?Silver Snakes got one, two, three, four, five? six pieces of gold, Orange Iguanas got one, two, three, four ? six pieces of gold! They each get the full Pendant!? The audience applauds momentarily. ?But that gives the Orange Iguanas a Pendant and a half, but the Silver Snakes have two Pendants.  The Silver Snakes are goin? to the Temple!? Elizabeth and Damon hug for a brief second and Kirk walks over to the Orange Iguanas. ?Orange Iguanas gave it a gallant effort.  We?ve got something special for you both.? Hector and Tanya will each be receiving a copy of the Kingdom Hearts II PlayStation 2 game.
Kirk is now standing with the Silver Snakes in front of the equipment for the third Temple Game. ?Now we?ll see if these guys can make it through Olmec?s Temple, retrieve that Stained Coat of Fan-swap Low-nay,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera zooms in on the dragon head in the Dragon?s Lair before fading to commercial.

Rediscovery EP: The Stained Coat of Fran?ois l?Ollonais
« Reply #3 on: July 23, 2007, 03:52:51 PM »
Kirk stands in front of the Temple's stairs to the camera-right of the Silver Snakes. "Welcome back to Legends," he says. "Damon and Elizabeth have proven themselves worthy and have earned the right to enter Olmec?s Temple.  But first, Olmec?s gonna give them some information to help them retrieve the Stained Coat of Fran-sol A-nay."
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Crevasse and climbing down into the Mine Shaft.  Throw enough rocks into the bucket to lift the slab, then race into the Crystal Cave.  Pull down the correct icicle, and you could choose to go up into the Dragon?s Lair, or into the Junction of the Secret Shafts.  If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Switch Inferno.  Hit the right actuator to go upstairs, or plow through the wall and into the Dungeon.
?There, climb up the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage into the Dark Overlook, and correctly place all three torches to open the door? to the Shrine? of the Silver Monkey.  Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Knights? Barracks, where you can grab the Bloodstained Coat of Fran?ois l?Ollonais.  Place the sword in the correct sheath, but be careful? one of the suits of armor could be possessed by the spirit of a Temple Guard! If they grab you, you'll have to give up a Pendant of Life! Next, race up to the Laser Light Room, find the right combination to unleash the power of the laser, and run across the Bridge.  Then, pass through the Room of Temple Gongs, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate.  The choices are yours and yours alone.? Olmec pauses for a second here. "You won 2 Pendants in the Temple Games.  Who's going first??
"I am," says Damon.
"Very well, Damon!" replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards? the Stained Coat.  Hidden inside the Temple are three ventilation shafts that let out in the Junction of the Secret Shafts, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms.  You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and then it'll be Elizabeth's turn to enter and try her luck.  If you can reach the Coat, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish.  Return through the gates with the Stained Coat in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how:"
?   For just making it into the Temple, they?re both going to get a Schwinn Mesa mountain bike.
?   If they can grab the Missing Signature in three minutes, they?ll also receive Compton?s Interactive Encyclopedia on CD-ROM, from Compton?s New Media.
?   And if they can get the Missing Signature out of the Temple before three minutes is up, they?ll both be going to Krystal Cancun! The resort for beach lovers, with excursions to Mayan ruins.  It?s rich in history and rich in pleasure.  Krystal Cancun, for a prize package totaling $13,098!

"Cancun, let?s get ?em there!" Kirk says, excited. "So, Damian, you gotta tell me? what?s your strategy?"
"Well," Damon replies, "we?re just gonna start going through the bottom? and we?re just gonna figure out where to go from there."
"I hope that works out for you guys," Kirk says. "So let?s get you out in front, Damon.  Put your mouthpieces in.  Lower the gate, Olmec!"
Olmec moans as he lowers the gate.
"And let's set the clock? for three minutes." The clock appears onscreen. "On your mark, get set, GO!"

?There he goes, up the Temple!? Kirk comments as Damon dashes up the stairs of the Temple and slides down into the Crevasse.  He immediately heads for the upper crawl tube, opens it, and squirms through and into the Mine Shaft. ?He?s into the Mine Shaft, where he?s gonna have to do some heavy? rock lifting.? Damon gets the rocks in the bucket fairly quickly and opens the door into the Crystal Cave. (2:33) However, in the corner of the room lurks the first TEMPLE GUARD!
?Woah! Temple Guard!? Kirk shouts as Damon hands over his Pendant. ?Didn?t even faze ?im, he just keeps goin?!? Damon starts by pulling down the stalactite stage-left of the ladder in the room, then pulls down the one stage-right of the ladder.  That happens to be the correct one, and after a second, Damon advances into the Junction of the Secret Shafts. (2:17) He then races across the room, uses the upper tunnel to enter the Switch Inferno, runs through the stone wall into the Dungeon, and climbs onto a ladder which helps him to reach the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage.  He heads up the tunnel very quickly and enters the Dark Overlook, but before he can get started on the room?s objective, out jumps the second TEMPLE GUARD!
?Oh! Take off Elizabeth!? Kirk shouts, and Elizabeth runs up the stairs and enters the Temple with 1:48 remaining.  She climbs through the Crevasse, walks through the Mine Shaft and jogs through both the Crystal Cave and the Junction of the Secret Shafts. ?It looks like she?s just following Damon?s path,? Kirk comments. (1:19)
However, Elizabeth then takes a look around in the Switch Inferno instead of entering the Dungeon like Damon had.  She pays great attention to the walls, possibly trying to find a key panel. ?She?ll have to hit one of the actuators if she wants to go upstairs,? Kirk says, ?or she could just bust through the wall.? Elizabeth begins to inspect the floor, maybe looking for the magnetic key which is not needed to complete the room area?s objective any more. (1:12) ?She has to hit a switch, she has to hit the right key.? She hits the lower of the two actuators located camera-left of the leftmost gold door and waits a few seconds for the door to open. (0:59)
?Nope, that?s not it,? Kirk explains, and Elizabeth then hits the same actuator a few more times. (0:54) ?That?s not it, she?ll have to hit the right one open it.? Elizabeth jumps up to hit the next actuator, then slowly but surely hits all eight of the actuators on the back wall, hitting the last one twice. (0:42)
?She?s gotta make up for lost time and find the right switch,? Kirk comments, and Damon claps silently as Elizabeth moves to the right wall in the room and hits the eight actuators there. (0:30) She then runs over to the left wall, picking up the pace a little, and hits all the actuators there.  When nothing opens up, she looks around for a second before Kirk tells her:
?You might wanna just bust through the wall!?
With fifteen seconds remaining, Elizabeth enters the Dungeon and climbs the ladder leading into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.  She enters the room and grabs the base of the statue? but we?re out of time!
?Oh! They were just one room away!? Kirk shouts. ?Damon cleared out a great path so fast; Elizabeth got caught in the Inferno? the Switch Inferno? sometimes they never come outta there.  And we gotta get outta here.  See you again next time for more adventure and another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!? Elizabeth soon reappears next to Damon and Kirk, and the camera close-ups on the suits of armor in the Knights? Barracks and the torches in the Dark Overlook as the credits roll.

Temple Run Summary
Episode 42px]

Name of Artifact: The Stained Coat of Fran?ois l?Ollonais
Season: 2
Layout: 2 (6 overall)
Result: Failed acquisition
Time Remaining: N/A
Team: Silver Snakes
Pendants Won: 2
Location of Artifact: The Knights' Barracks

Well, before heading into the Temple, the team said they were going to start on the bottom floor, but it seems like they couldn't figure out what to do next.  Damon made great time going through the rooms, and met his first Temple Guard in the Crystal Cave.  However, he ignored two possible shortcuts leading into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, and as a result, he was taken out in the Dark Overlook with 1:50 remaining.

Elizabeth wasn't nearly as fast, but her plan was to take a "shorter" path to reach the Stained Coat.  However, it was because of this plan that she burned most of her time in the Switch Inferno, and as a result, time ran out just a few seconds after she entered the Shrine via the Dungeon.

Trivia and Records:
Elizabeth spent more time in the Switch Inferno than any other Temple Runner in the show's history; she entered the room with 1:19 remaining and headed for the Dungeon with just fifteen seconds to go.  It can be assumed that this Temple Run caused the production crew to change the number of actuators in the room from twenty-four to twelve for subsequent layouts.  Also, Kirk made a reference to Where in the World Is Carmen Sandiego? in the second Temple Game? but if only someone had caught it.
