Title: Temple Rooms Elimination Game
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 05, 2007, 01:05:11 AM
Welcome to the Temple Room Elimination game!

This game is dedicated to the rooms of the temple. Credits go to the Ancient Warrior because I borrowed his idea to make this game. You can only vote once a day. I will update the list at least once a day also. The list starts at the top entrance room and continues counter-clockwise and stops at the Ledges.

The Tomb of the Headless Kings

A rather time consuming room in my opinion.

I don't mean to point out this as a pointless topic but this contest is kind of a no brainer. Who else would win but the S**** O* The S***** M*****
Oh well get rid of the mirky swamp

The Heart Room

I hate "hit the actuator" rooms

I see this idea's really catching on.

I'll eliminate the Wall Climb, just cause so many players took up so much time in there trying to use the ropes to climb the walls.

Medusa's Lair. Bad design, bad idea, and bad temple runs because of it.

I'm with ya. I HATED THAT ROOM! (Just my opinion, no offense intended, MedusasLair.)

Just curious, can we only vote once a day?

I'm ridding of the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, because I'm a douchebag.

Seriously, they should have had the contestants assemble it in the back of the room so they could see what they were doing.

I know from Elise's interview they showed how some objectives were to be completed (read the sound effect trick part,) but because they didn't do that for the Shrine of the Silver Monkey look what they did to The Stolen Arm of Shiva and The Mysterious Manuscript of Mary Shelley.

Anyways, there's outer space's prediction out the window.  I wonder who'll win now.

I'm glad that I am not the only one that hated the actuator rooms. They could've done better with the Room of the Golden Idols.

PS: I realized the bamboo forest created a thread similar to this one first. I apologize because I never looked in that forum. I didn't mean to steal your idea or anything.

The Chamber of the Sacred Markers

Another time consuming room...
Title: Temple Rooms Elimination Game
Post by: The Ancient Warrior on March 06, 2007, 12:59:23 PM
Really? IMO only Katie from The Lily-Crested Crown of Clovis the First was that bad in that room.

Anyway, if you want a time-consuming room, try the Holes of Python.  No matter how skilled the players were, it took just as long (unless they were on the big side ala The Codebook of Mata Hari, then we have a problem.)
Title: Temple Rooms Elimination Game
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on March 06, 2007, 01:02:11 PM
Well, the chamber did take a while to complete so IMO I'd consider it time consuming. It seemed like most of the rooms in Season 3 took a long time to complete.
Title: Temple Rooms Elimination Game
Post by: The Ancient Warrior on March 06, 2007, 01:07:26 PM
I wonder if that could be part of the reason why Season 3 only had 10 wins.

Dark forest. I don't like this room because you had to complete it going one way but not the other way. (which might not be a bad thing Apanupec, Egyptian queen, Bandit queen.)

The Pharoe's Secret Passage and the Quicksand Bog. Boring rooms.

Although you are only suppose to boot one room, I still got rid both the QB and the Pharoah's Secret Passage since the latter is not really a room.

BTW, The Room of the Golden Idols was not really one of my favorite rooms. I think they could've done better with the rooms by getting rid of the actuators and make a player push down on an idol in order to access another door.

The Cave of Size/Sighs

The Ledges was a major improvement because you actually had to crawl through them, unlike the cave.

Say goodbye to the Treasury of Golden Orbs.

It'd be fine if only one orb matched with a certain pedestal.  However, you could use the same orb for all three - something I believe every contestant who completed that room did.

Yeah, I always thought it would be better with 9 possibilities (same with Torch Room/Room of Three Torches)

The celestial lights Observatory.  Wasn't any harder than the sundial version.  At the stone column took a good 8-15 seconds to complete.

Oh yeah, I forgot about The Bonnet of Dolley Madison.  I was thinking about when I saw Jon's upload of The Ivory Elephant, but then again, Monica aligned the segments in the other order.  Either way I brought the numbers down but I don't think it matters to much.

No offense for getting rid of Medusa's Lair, I just love the room due to Missy's run. I mean the Stone Head of The Evil King = pain.

So, uh, The Torch Room. Uh, seriously, how do you waste time in there?

The Rock Quarry/Troubled Bridge.  It's tough to eliminate at this point, but I don't think I like it when a certain room limits your choices of where you can go.

Jester's Court

I wasn't really a big fan of the room to begin with. If someone was really short, they would get stuck in this room forever. Also, it seemed like there were many flaws, like where contestants had to try each figure twice.

Let's see, a production defect there prevented The Good-Luck Watch of Empress Eugenie from being a win, Shelly had a lot of trouble aligning with the figures in The Golden Goblet of Attila the Hun, but Tarrah didn't have much trouble surprisingly.

I really didn't like the Room of the Ancient Warriors. With all due respect to TAW, the room was really cramped and led to a few anticlimactic temple guard captures because you could tell when the kids knew where a guard was residing.

That's okay, no big deal.  I just called myself that because it was a name I had planned for my own site.

I think I'll get rid of the Crypt cause its objective could be done just as fast as that of the Room of the Three Gargoyles, and that's allready gone.
