Hey everyone! As you all know, I'm starting a new game where Legends victors and others all play on an Endurance-like system. It's gonna be a summer event which, sure enough starts off with Season 1 of Legends. here are the returning Legends victors of the opening season and their team colors in order by their respective temple layout:


BLUE TEAM
Jennifer and Damian (John Sutter and the Map to the Lost Gold Mine)

RED TEAM
Taylor and Becca (The Helmet of Genghis Khan)

BROWN TEAM
Mitchell and Emily (The Moccasins of Geronimo)

YELLOW TEAM
Danny and Tara (The Medal of Sir Edmund Hillary)

ORANGE TEAM
Tim and Retina (Alexander and the Gordian Knot)

PURPLE TEAM
David and Eusinia (King Tut's Cobra Staff)

GREEN TEAM
David and Candace (Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress)

GREY TEAM
Adam and Shannon (The Collar of Davy Crockett)


The pyramid pieces in order are Courage, Discipline, Leadership, Luck, Perseverance, Strength, Heart, Knowledge, Trust, Ingenuity, Teamwork and Friendship and the one and only user supporting the Legends victors still remaining by the end of the thread to accumulate all these pyramid pieces wins a new ranking and gets to make the next sticky topic!

So, let the games begin and the best man win as they say!

It's now time for the very first challenge, but it won't be your last for most of the teams. This challenge will in fact be your first Temple Mission and the first elimination!  :twisted:   :shock:

Anyway, if you watch Endurance or if you used to or still do, you must know that when one team wins the Temple Mission, they have the responsibility of selecting two teams that are gonna face elimination at the Temple of Fate. And obviously only one team returns to compete as the losing team gets eliminated. 

The first challenge that must be completed is a favorites one, and the theme is Favorite Temple Run Victory of Season 1, and the most popular choice among everyone is gonna allow several or a few teams into the higher points of winning (going by the furthest along rule, per se) and one in particular will win and have to post two teams they think deserve to go to the Temple of Fate, and the reasons why for both teams and that user can also even write their own drama and situations surrounding the decision (this constitutes for both Endurance Missions and Temple Missions)!  :mrgreen:

Also, the deadline for the challenge is Thursday morning at 9.  8)

I knew what Endurance was before, but I never really got into it.  I actually just went back and watched an entire season of it play through, and I do think this could be really fun if executed correctly.

The only problem is that I don't really understand what the Temple Mission is here.  Maybe I just don't understand the wording of it, but would you please clarify how the winner is decided?

The Temple Mission is just to name your favorite Temple Run Victory from Season 1, and once all the posts with that theme are counted, as Olmec would say, "the team that has the most popular choice or whoever's furthest along when this challenge ends wins!"

So I'll start by saying my favorite Season 1 Temple Run Victory (on behalf of Adam and Shannon) is The Snake Bracelet of Cleopatra 'cuz Robert and Tracy kept up their leading drive through the elimination rounds and an amazing Temple Run helped cap it off!  :)

I suppose...but since I don't think anyone's picked a "losing" team, I guess it'll work.

Anyhow, I vote for David & Candace ("Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress"). Arguably the most exciting Temple Run from Season 1.

I've tallied up all the results despite the fact that one team didn't participate (which doesn't make that team in particular a target for the Temple) and the winner of the first Temple Mission is.............

BLUE TEAM

Or in other words, TBK!!!  :mrgreen: You downright and absolutely showed the best description of your (and several others') choice! You now have to choose two of the other 7 teams to face elimination at the Temple of Fate. If you've watched Endurance, you obviously realize two will battle it out at the Temple, but only one proceeds to the next round over the forthcoming months. And now for the creative part of your decision!  :o You get to write your own drama and situations involving the Legends contestants at their accommodations which could play a significant part in the challenge's outcome. I'll check back in a few hours for your decision!!  8)

Again, I don't watch "Endurance", so I wouldn't know a thing about writing any drama-related stuff--you can write it if you want. However, I will pick two teams:

Brown (TSM) and Orange (still open) pack their belongings, say their goodbyes to the others and arrive at the Temple of Fate, where two go to combat elimination, but only one will progress further into the competition.
Here's what happens; and you'll find out who's not gonna survive:

Round #1:
Wood floats on water -- Mitchell and Emily win the first round --

Round #2:
Fire burns and demolishes wood -- Tim and Retina tie it up, one round apiece --

Round #3:
Fire burns and demolishes wood -- Tim and Retina are heading back to the camp!--

 Sorry, TSM; it's a tad painful to say but your team has been eliminated. On the bright side, you can write a departure letter to the remaining teams and you can give one team in particular your Luck pyramid piece. Thanx for playing, Mitchell and Emily!

Author's note: I'll write the storyline of this elimination by the weekend.

First and foremost, this was what happened leading up to Mitchell and Emily's elimination after the Temple Mission:

(This is the text version)
— As you know, Damian and Jennifer won the Temple Mission, but now they have the arduous task of eliminating one team by sending two teams to the Temple of fate with everyone sucking up to them. Jennifer revealed in her first-person diary that she didn't wanna necessarily do it, but she realized one team had to leave that night. Taylor and Shannon both said that they have little concern about being sent, but they have narrow compassion for Orange because Retina and Tim are constantly fighting and it results with Retina always crying and venting to the others about Tim's bad attitude, which makes them a target for the Temple. Similarly, Purple has no pity or allies because everyone (mostly Green and Red) say that they're the weakest team that should be nixed, as revealed in Tara's confessional.
— Jennifer and Damian later meet by the cabin veranda to discuss who's gonna be sent. Damian suggests that they need to send two teams that can't possibly pose a threat if they return. He then proposes that they send Orange and Brown because he's bonded with everyone else except them and he believes that they'll be targets regardless. Jennifer then says that if one of them returns, they can't seek revenge for the most part. She then explains in her diary that she and Damian tried reviewing the teams' performances in the recent game and how guilty she'd feel if one of them got eliminated.
— The teams all meet with JD that day to hear Blue's choice, and sure enough, Brown and Orange are chosen to go to the Temple of Fate. Emily reveals in her diary that she was upset about being sent but she wouldn't cry despite growing emotional while speaking, elsewhere Mitchell basically says that he will be vindictive of Blue if he comes back from the Temple! However, when David (from Purple) asks him in the guys' cabin why he got sent by Blue, he says that they thought he was a weak team that would accomplish nothing. Candace reveals in her confessional that she sympathizes for both teams and she thinks Orange deserves to return more than Brown. In his confessional, Tim confirms that if he returns from the Temple, he isn't gonna mess around any longer but will mean business in the competition!
— Subsequently, Brown and Orange pack their belongings and say their goodbyes to the remaining contestants and set out for the Temple. In their farewell diaries, respectively, Tim ensures that stopping Blue from victory will be his main goal and also trying to break their spirits; Emily says that she doesn't know what to do in the forthcoming days if she comes back and she doesn't blame Blue; Retina explains that she'll try and keep Tim in check so he doesn't make any obstinate moves if they come back and she'll be friends with everyone; Mitchell swears to go off on Blue by getting revenge if he returns to show everyone he's not weak.
— Both teams arrive at the Temple of Fate for the rochambeau of fire-water-wood to advance another day. Orange is fortunate enough to be the one shutting out Brown twice in a row, which makes Mitchell and Emily the first team to go home.  Orange returns to the cabins with smiles on their faces and unbearable glee from everyone, particularly Yellow.

Act I:

Jennifer: (in the first-person interview) Me and Damian were so stoked about winning today, but then we realized that we had to send someone to the Temple and potentially get targets on our backs.
Taylor: (in the first-person interview) 'Cause Blue won today, I know that I won't be somebody that'll go to the Temple. However, I think Orange is definitely going because they're arguing a lot.
Shannon: (in the first-person interview) Everyone's getting irritated by Retina and Tim because they fight a lot and it ends in Retina crying and complaining, and that's probably why Orange is gonna get sent.
Tara (in the confessional) I have a feeling that Purple is going to the Temple 'cause everyone says that they're useless and it's better that they shouldn't be here.
Jennifer: (in the first-person interview) We we trying to decide logically on the teams while we got rid of the possibilities of their performances. It's just gonna be hard to see someone go tonight, and it'll be my fault too which makes it harder!

Act II:

Emily: (in the first-person interview) I'm upset and utterly hurt about being sent, but I don't wanna cry about it. I just wanna see how tonight plays out and I wanna win. (brushes away a tear)
Mitchell: (in the first-person interview, sounding enraged) I'm angry and upset about going up to the Temple, and I'm pissed with Blue. If we come back, we're just gonna shut them out altogether without any hesitations!
Candace: (in the confessional) I feel kinda sorry for both teams, mostly Orange 'cause everyone wants them gone and I just think they need to stay moreover than Brown. (segues to Tim's confessional)
Tim: (in the confessional) I thought I had a bond with Blue, but they had a thing in mind that made them wanna nix me. If I come back, I'm not messin' around and playing Mr. Nice Guy 'cause i will mean business! Blue team? (snaps fingers) They'll be gone just like that!

Time for a refresher on the last episode and what's forthcoming in the next!


Previously on Legends Goes Endurance: Season One:

It was a new day at the sixteen Legends competitors' accommodations as the teams all began to nitpick their relationships. The stronger teams, Blue Barracudas, Silver Snakes, Red Jaguars and Green Monkeys formed an alliance to combat the other four weaker teams to outright dominate the game.

After the alliances, friendships and scheming began to spread throughout the camp, the teams were shocked with a surprise elimination! When the first elimination debuted in the prior episode, all eight teams absolutely fought to get their performance up to par and evade the Temple of Fate. The Blue Barracudas —Damian and Jennifer from the eighth episode, John Sutter and the Map to the Lost Gold Mine— absolutely dominated the competition and acquired the arduous responsibility of sending two teams to the Temple of Fate.

Jennifer was especially concerned about revenge from a strong team if they were sent to the Temple of Fate. Everyone is still getting to know their teammates for the most part with the exception of the Orange Iguanas —Tim and Retina from the thirty-first episode, Alexander and the Gordian Knot— who were perennially arguing that ended with Retina in tears and complaints over Tim's bold and impulsive attitude, which was irritating to everyone and gave Damian a reason to send Orange to the Temple! However, both players on the Blue Barracudas stuck with the initial choice of sending weaker teams to lessen the chances of revenge if they earned the right to progress further in the competition.

When the teams all gathered with JD to hear the Blue Barracudas' decision, they revealed that they were sending Orange and Brown to the Temple of Fate. Their plan was to send up the two teams mentioned 'cause they were weaker teams and they knew that they couldn't seek revenge despite what Tim said in his confessional if he returned from the Temple.

At the Temple of Fate, the Orange Iguanas successfully triumphed over their destiny and the Brown Team —Mitchell and Emily from the fifteenth episode, The Moccasins of Geronimo— became the first team eliminated from the competition. Now, with this episode finished, you must be asking questions like: Have Tim and Retina begun to value the opposites' input to continue in the game, taking into account that they were adequate enough to survive elimination? Can the weak teams beat the odds of losing to the strong Red-Blue-Green-Silver alliance in the follow-up days? You'll soon discover in the next episode of Legends Goes Endurance!


Moving onto today's episode and the challenge, which is the first Endurance Mission. The pyramid piece up for grabs is Teamwork and the Samadhi, which is sure enough a handicap that's gonna be a hindrance to the team that gets it. The contest of the week is an elimination-themed challenge involving the Season 1 Moat crossings, and only one Moat crossing can be eliminated by up to three users. The last Moat crossing standing will be declared the winner, and the team that doesn't try to eliminate that remaining choice will win the Teamwork piece and the Samadhi.

I'll start off the next mission by eliminating one of the Moat crossings from Season 1, and I pick the "swim across with a rope to make a tightrope". Too easy, and anybody from the latter seasons would CREAM that Moat crossing!  :roll:

Aw I liked the S1L1 moat. Easy yes, but man that looks like fun. Get rid of the S1L5 "Pull yourself across while laying on a tube." Methinks that moat is lame and easy.

By that, I mean you'll vote on which Moat Crossing and team deserves to win in the method described below if you require a further explanation:

You'll write to me in a private message which of the two remaining Moat Crossings was the best and the team you think should get the victory (that basically gives you the Teamwork pyramid piece—which is gonna place you in the lead with two pyramid pieces in comparison to the other teams— and the dreaded Samadhi, which is gonna cause in a disadvantage for the team that's handicapped by it) in two separate sentences.

You've only got a few hours (I know I'm being drastic on that) to vote, and the decision is required to unveiled tomorrow!  :mrgreen:  ;)

And now for another twist ending!! (which was in fact some intense last-minute negotiations)  :twisted:

I have decided that the winner of the first Endurance Mission— that team's also gonna get the Teamwork pyramid piece and the Samadhi, which could probably cause a power shift— is........ (drumroll plz!)

PURPLE TEAM
David and Eusinia (King Tut's Cobra Staff)

The reason why the Purple Parrots won was because their Temple Run happened within Layout 8, which along with Layout 9's moat crossings remained (the Green Monkeys and Silver Snakes also come from this layout) and since nobody responded to my last post, I chose to select a winner randomly. And so, that's how the Purple Parrots (aka PPF) won another piece and the Samadhi! All I can comment on this is— the team that was always the biggest losers on the show and had been underestimated by the others now has control!  :o


Moving onto the creative and rather difficult portion of a victory— because you won the Endurance Mission, you now have to handicap one of the other six teams the Samadhi. If you've watched Endurance online or on TV, you should realize that the team burdened by the Samadhi will have a significantly negative effect going into the following Temple Mission. Last week's episode had some pretty excellent and shocking drama, and now it's your turn to write your own drama and situations that include the Legends contestants at their cabins which may mingle its way into the quality of the final outcome. I'll check back later for your decision, PPF; your Purple Parrots have finally won one!!  8)

The Orange Iguanas have been having terrible luck one episode after another, and this post showcases what caused them to carry the burden of the Samadhi:


(this is the text version)
-- As you've read in the previous episode, the Brown Team— Emily and Mitchell from the fifteenth episode, The Moccasins of Geronimo— was the first team to be eliminated from the competition. With their departure, they left behind their Luck pyramid piece and a handwritten note to be read to the group. Tara reads the letter aloud as evidenced by the following sentences— they forgive Blue for sending them to the Temple of Fate and tell Orange to hear each other's input to avoid something else negative that may result in elimination; it then reveals that Brown wants their friends to stay true to the alliance and they're rooting for Yellow and they consequently are given their piece. JD asks them about an alliance, and David confirms that it was just an agreement that Yellow, Purple and Brown would work together against the opposite alliance. Regardless, Danny and Tara move into the lead with two pieces in comparison to the others' one and they are told today is the first Endurance Mission with another piece and the dreaded Samadhi.

-- As the contestants brace themselves for their first Endurance Mission, they're still continuing to get to know and feel content about their partner, for the most part— with the exception of the Orange Iguanas, who still aren't getting along well. Already, Becca thinks that Tim's manipulating people to avoid getting the Samadhi or being sent to the Temple of fate again. But now, Retina is aware that Tim's making a few enemies quickly, which causes a shockwave of fear among the other contestants who believe he's trying to turn teams against each other; in a heated discussion, an irked Retina warns Tim to not screw up the game for her just because everyone wants him gone (despite the fact everyone feels sympathetic for her). On the other hand, Danny feels outnumbered because he knows that everyone's put a target on his back because he and Tara have a lead over them.

-- The ever-so-anxious teams all gather with JD to play their first Endurance Mission, which goes elimination-style (meaning that if a team gets something, they can eliminate another team that didn't acquire the thing); the pyramid piece just waiting for them is Teamwork, and let's not forget the dreaded Samadhi! As always, the Samadhi will hamper one team in the follow-up Temple Mission. The game starts, and the Red Jaguars are eliminated first by the Silver Snakes; not long after, the Blue Barracudas are cut by the Green Monkeys. On the third round, Yellow is eliminated by the Purple Parrots; afterwards, the Orange Iguanas are removed by the Green Monkeys. The last team to be eliminated from the mission is the Silver Snakes, who are thrown out by the Purple Parrots. After a few more failed attempts, in a fantastic and shocking turn of events, the Purple Parrots miraculously churn out a win, giving them another piece and the Samadhi!

-- After the mission, DJ admits he had low expectations for Purple, and that the Samadhi will change things dramatically. Taylor thinks that either Orange, Green or Gray will get the Samadhi for different reasons: Orange may get it because their teamwork is decreasing in quality rather than improving; Green or Gray may get the Samadhi because they were the last ones standing against Purple. Unfortunately for Purple, if anyone targets Gray, the other teams will become their enemies and pick on them to try to eliminate them. Meanwhile, Shannon and Jennifer both are very concerned about Purple's victory and they hope that by one of them making friends with Eusinia, they can't get the Samadhi. Conversely, Adam is comfortable that he won't get the Samadhi and thinks that Purple will try to beeline for Blue, Green or Orange. Meanwhile, Taylor and Candace bribe Tim to tell them about their alliance with Purple and Yellow. Much to Retina's chagrin, he informs them that they're targeting the stronger teams from the opposite alliance. A little while later, Retina confronts Tim about Taylor and Candace's bribe, and voices how frustrated she is with his attitude. Tim just slightly jokes and smiles it off, but Retina admonishes him by saying he needs to accept the game more seriously in terms of strategy and friendship.

-- David and Eusinia then talk by the porch swing to discuss who'll get the Samadhi. David wants to go play it strategically by giving it to Green because he knows that Green wants to send him to the Temple of fate; on the other hand, Eusinia wants to go by according to who her best friend is and is going for Red. But then, David suggests that they give it to Orange in order to patch up their brittle partnership; Eusinia says that she doesn't want Tim to put the bull's eye on her back and potentially be double-crossed. David explains that if Orange is weighed down by the Samadhi, there's gonna be less likely possibilities of them being one of the targets; that revelation is enough to make Eusinia sway and hinder the team with the poorest teamwork.

-- That evening, the teams all meet by the dock (which is the rendezvous of this year) to hear who Purple will be giving the Samadhi to. When questioned by JD, Jennifer admits that the teams have divided alliances— the Blue Barracudas, Silver Snakes, Green Monkeys and Red Jaguars against the other three teams that are working together as a group. JD then mentions that Orange has had some bad luck recently and asks Retina how she and Tim are getting along. She says that everyone's targeting him and wants him to just worry about himself rather than everybody else. Conversely, Tim explains that he and Retina don't relate to each other significantly and their outlooks are far too incompatible; everyone, even Retina strongly agrees about that. When it's time give away the Samadhi, the outcome is no surprise— the Orange Iguanas will be saddled with a handicap! The hindrance from the Samadhi that Orange has to combat with is a 25-second disadvantage for tomorrow's Temple Mission. On the walk back, Tim is irritated that everyone's gunning for him and that he doesn't care about what Retina wants. On the other hand, Retina has had enough of his narcissistic and stubborn attitude and just wants him to try harder in the next challenge.

The venue where all of this happens is on the.......................Cook Islands— namely the upper group of islands, and the island where this takes place is Manihiki Island.

The Orange Iguanas have had a hard time progressing from episode to episode, so let's recap on the last before we jump to the next:


Previously on Legends Goes Endurance: Season One:

The morning following after the Brown Team— Mitchell and Emily from the fifteenth episode, The Moccasins of Geronimo— was eliminated at the Temple of Fate and forced to exit the Cook Islands, the Yellow Team— Danny and Tara from the twenty-seventh episode, The Medal of Sir Edmund Hillary— was given their pyramid piece and a commanding lead over the other teams; the Orange Iguanas' partnership continued to falter and drift apart when Retina discovered Tim's strategy to stay in the game which ended in a confrontation.

Afterward, the contestants proceeded to compete in their first Endurance Mission in order to win the Teamwork piece and the Samadhi, which sure enough would hamper one team in particular for the follow-up Temple Mission. In a nutshell, the contestants combated long and hard to win another piece, but the Purple Parrots— David and Eusinia from the thirty-second episode, King Tut's Cobra Staff— rose to the occasion and acquired the Teamwork piece and the Samadhi!

The news of the Purple Parrots' victory creates a shockwave of not only dysphoria, but also mass hysteria among the Blue Barracudas-Green Monkeys-Red Jaguars-Silver Snakes alliance who'd previously targeted them for elimination! As you'd expect from all that pandemonium and anxiety, a few members of that alliance were sucking up to Purple in order to avoid the Samadhi. Just a short time later after being bribed by Green and Red, Tim drops the bombshell of the opposite alliance despite Retina's persisent warnings; sure enough, Retina then castigates Tim about having a sour and negative attitude about the game and gives him a tip-off to change his behavior.

Just barely before the tail end of afternoon, David and Eusinia debate about who they should give the Samadhi to. However, it isn't as interesting to wonder about because both their outlooks about the debate are different rather than seeming to be far from the best. On one hand, David wants to hinder Green knowing that they'd send him to the Temple of Fate if they won the opportunity; conversely, Eusinia plays by friendships instead of strategy and wants to handicap Red. Then David touches the subject of Orange's getting-fragile-by-the-second teamwork and Eusinia reluctantly agrees to handicap them knowing that Tim may target her if that happens.

As soon as the time subsection and its respective scenery reaches sunset, the seven teams gather by the dock (which is this year's rendezvous) to hear who Purple will be giving the Samadhi to. As written before by a certain context, the camp is divided— three teams in one alliance and four on the opposite; some stuff that's also revealed at the dock is how Tim and Retina explain how they can't get along (which is evidently contributing to their brittle partnership). Anyhow, the Purple Parrots give the Samadhi to to the Orange Iguanas, which is no surprise to anyone. The Samadhi turns out to be 25-second disadvantage going into to the following Temple Mission. You guys probably are summing up questions like these: Did Orange cheat their destiny one night before, or will it catch up to them and do them in? Will there be any buckles within the Red-Blue-Green-Silver alliance as another team is eliminated? The answers to those questions will be completed in the next episode of Legends Goes Endurance!


Without further ado, here's the challenge, which is in fact your second Temple Mission; that obviously means one more team will be eliminated at the Temple of fate by the of the episode. The objective is as follows:

You can submit as many as you like and if you have more episodes listed before the others do, you win the Temple Mission and the responsibility to send two teams to the Temple of fate. The disadvantage that Orange has is that they'll have to wait until the third episode has been identified in order to participate.

Sorry, PPF; the Golden Stallion was from Season 2, and we're naming all the dead-ends in Season 1 so it kills me to say the Purple Parrots are disqualified from winning because they named an incorrect one (thanks a lot, Eusinia!).
