The Heart Room / Rooms YOU misnamed as kids
« on: August 09, 2010, 05:58:29 AM »
I was looking through some of my old drawings and found a folder full of temple diagrams, in an attempt to log in every single temple layout when I was maybe about 6 or 7.

Oh, come on. If you can tell me that you watched Legends, a show with fancy big words in its room names and you never mispronounced or misnamed a single room, you're lying. :P I really wanna know what ridiculous misinterpretations there have been.

For me:
The Quicksand "Plog" (Come on, I was 7, I didn't know what a bog was)
The Chamber of the Secret Markers
The Absurdbatory (Fitting, huh? Probably the most ridiculous one I've ever come up with...)
Medoosa's Layer
The Lighting Room
The Key's Storeroom

The camera makes its way through lush greenery, and the palms move away as ambient animal noises are heard. Portions of a temple are shown, and suddenly the jungle ends, and we see Olmec?s face light up and shout, ?LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE!?

The show?s title card?a pendant of life?crashes together on the screen, and the camera shifts to focus on the temple and its rooms. ?With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is now!?

The pendant splinters and Kirk is seen crawling out of the Jungle Crevice to run right into the center of the stage and up the Steps of Knowledge as he begins his narration.

?Thank you, thank you!? says Kirk. ?It's nice to see you! Thank you, Olmec. Welcome to the Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today??

Olmec replies, ?The Legend of The Golden Amulet of Haakon the Seventh of Norway!?

?Ooh, the Golden Amulet of Haakon the Seventh!? says Kirk. ?Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Golden Amulet?will it be The Red Jaguars??

At this point, the camera focuses on each team as they are introduced.

?The Blue Barracudas??
?The Green Monkeys??
?The Orange Iguanas??
?The Purple Parrots??
?Or the Silver Snakes??

?They?re going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests,? continues Kirk, ?and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec?s temple, but first they?ll have to cross the moat, and Olmec?s gonna tell us how they have to do it today.?

Olmec instructs:
?Before you lies an ancient spinning log, and above it, a path of vines. When Kirk gives the signal, step out onto the log, and grab on to the first vine. If you fall off the log, you must got back and start again. If not, grab the next vine and make your way across the spinning log. When you reach the other side, it?s your partner?s turn to cross. When both partners have reached the other side, run over and hit the gong!?

Kirk hits the Silver Snakes? gong to demonstrate, which?in turn?lights up a bright silver.

?The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round,? finishes Olmec. ?Okay, teams!? calls Kirk. ?Are you ready??

The teams excitedly reply, ?Yeeaahhhh!?

Kirk then asks, ?Olmec, are you ready??

?This rock is ready to roll!? replies Olmec.

?Okay, then,? says Kirk. ?Teams! On your marks, get set? GO!?

Six players edge forward towards the menacing logs spinning over the water. ?This isn?t easy!? reminds Kirk. ?If they don?t keep their feet moving, they?ll be in the water in no time.? The girl on the Red Jaguars, galloping like a horse, keeps her feet moving?but too fast, and loses her footing, falling into the water early. The boys on the Silver Snakes and Blue Barracudas seem to be just moving across the logs as fast as they can, while the Orange Iguanas steadily jog on the log as they move sideways, pulling each vine to the furthest point it can go. ?The Green Monkeys are catching up!? says Kirk, right as the boy on the Purple Parrots?already halfway across?falls into the water. Meanwhile, the first players on the Orange Iguanas, Blue Barracudas, Silver Snakes, and Red Jaguars are already on the opposite deck and cheering on their partners. ?This is a tough Moat crossing,? comments Kirk, as the girl on the Green Monkeys steps off onto the deck and her partner begins to cross. ?Our players?ve gotta? hold on and move at the same time?takes a lot of coordination to get it done right!? Shortly after he says this, an almost continuous ringing and three colored lights indicate that the Orange Iguanas, Silver Snakes, and Blue Barracudas have all gonged in.

?Just like that, we?ve got three teams!? exclaims Kirk. ?We still have room for one more team, though?looks like the Green Monkeys are having a little trouble out on the Moat!? Indeed, the boy on the Green Monkeys is in the air clutching a vine, trying to find the right moment to set his feet back down on the log. Meanwhile, the girl on the Purple Parrots falls off the log. ?Looks like it may be the Red Jaguars,? notices Kirk, as the boy on the Red Jaguars quickly speeds up as he reaches the end of his team?s log. ?Here they come!? shouts Kirk as the Red Jaguars run over to their gong and slam down on it. ?That?s it! We?ve got our four teams!?

The next shot shows Kirk standing next to the Silver Snakes. ?That was a tough Moat!? he comments. ?Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes?and the Orange Iguanas?and the Blue Barracudas?and the Red Jaguars.?

?The Purple Parrots and the Green Monkeys gave it a great effort as well,? he says. ?We?re not gonna send them away empty-handed?we?ve got a great gift for them, and here?s what it is??

At this point, the camera focuses on each team as they are introduced.

?There they go, onto the logs!? commentates Kirk as six players edge forward, grabbing out for their first vines before stepping onto the spinning logs. ?It?s a tough crossing,? comments Kirk. ?They have to hold on tight and keep running up the log while they move sideways, or else they?ll fall?oh, the Purple Parrots fell in!? The Green Monkeys are next to fall in, followed by the boy on the Orange Iguanas. The boy on the Silver Snakes makes it across in just under 20 second, and the Red Jaguars have their first player across shortly after. ?It?s still a tough match?? says Kirk, as he watches the girl on the Blue Barracudas try to keep herself on the log while trying to make progress sideways. ?We?re looking for our first team??Kirk is cut off by the ringing of a gong?the Silver Snakes have finished! ??and we?ve got our first team!? shouts Kirk, right as the girl on the Red Jaguars steps off onto the deck, and she, with her partner, runs over to hit the red gong. ?And our second team, too!? announces Kirk.

After about 50 seconds into the Moat crossing, the fog off the top of the water begins to dissipate. ?Oh, our teams are getting tired,? comments Kirk, ?but if they want to win this race, they?ve got to move fast!? The girl on the Orange Iguanas finally begins to start crossing the Moat, while the Purple Parrots are still trying to get their first player across. ?Looks like we?re gonna have our third team soon?? Kirk says, as the Blue Barracudas slam down on their gong. ?We?re looking for one more team now!? declares Kirk. The girl on the Green Monkeys falls into the water, giving the Orange Iguanas a chance to catch up. Seconds later, the girl on the Orange Iguanas joins her partner on the deck, and they both gong in to become the fourth team to advance. ?Okay, we?ve got our four teams! Stop right there!? shouts Kirk.

We see Kirk next to the Silver Snakes. ?The Silver Snakes did a great job,? he remarks. ?They were over in a flash. And going on to the Steps of Knowledge,? he announces, ?are the Silver Snakes?and the Orange Iguanas?and the Blue Barracudas?and the Red Jaguars.?

?The Green Monkeys and the Purple Parrots gave it a great effort,? he says. ?They?re not going away empty handed?we?ve got a great gift for them, and here?s what it is.?

Olmec replies, ?The Legend of The Iron Helmet of Richard the Third!?

?Oh, it?s the Iron Helmet of Richard the Third!? says Kirk. ?Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the crown?will it be The Red Jaguars??

At this point, the camera focuses on each team as they are introduced.

Olmec instructs:
?Before you lies an ancient log and some vines that have fallen across the Moat. When Kirk gives the signal, step onto the log? but be careful?the log will begin to spin, and you?ll have to grab the vines to hold on. If you fall off the log, you must got back and start again, but if you make it across, it?s your partner?s turn to cross. When both partners have reached the other side, run over and hit the gong!?

Kirk then asks, ?Olmec, are you ready??

?You bet, Kirk!? replies Olmec.

?Let?s get this started, then!? shouts Kirk. ?Teams! On your marks, get set? GO!?

Six players in six different color shirts dash forward towards the logs as shown in a wide shot of the Moat, before we pan through each of the teams? progress. ?The Red Jaguars are doing good,? comments Kirk as we see them holding onto the first vine while beginning to sidestep their way across, ?and so are the Green Monkeys and the Silver Snakes!? The Orange Iguanas fall in right away, losing their balance on the spinning log, and the Purple Parrots are swept off the log while reaching for the second vine. The Blue Barracudas attempt to edge forward, but also lose their momentum and timing, and fall into the water as a result. ?The Red Jaguars are blazing!? exclaims Kirk, as the boy on the Red Jaguars quickly scrambles sideways onto the deck. ?The Silver Snakes are coming up close, and so are the Green Monkeys!? The first player on the Green, Orange, Silver, and Purple step off their logs in that order, while the girl on the Red Jaguars falls into the water.

?We?re still looking for our first team?? says Kirk, as the girl on the Blue Barracudas finally makes it across and her partner begins to cross. ?Looks like it?s gonna be the Green Monkeys!? The Green Monkeys, now with both players across, slam down on their gong to be the first to advance. ?We?re still looking for three more teams, though,? he then says. ?Who?re they gonna be?? We cut to a shot of the end of the Moat, where the Silver Snakes are also reuniting, and the boy on the Silver Snakes runs over to hit his gong. ?We?ve got the Silver Snakes too,? says Kirk, ?aaaaaaand? the Orange Iguanas are in!? The Orange Iguanas also ring their gong to move on to the next round. ?We need just one more team?? The girl on the Purple Parrots is seen slipping and back-flipping into the water, and the girl on the Red Jaguars finally makes it across successfully, and hits the gong to end the round. ?We?ve got ?em?we?ve got our four teams!?

The screen cuts to Kirk standing next to the Silver Snakes. ?Going on to the Steps of Knowledge,? he announces, ?are the Silver Snakes?and the Orange Iguanas?and the Green Monkeys?and the Red Jaguars.?

?Before you lies an old abandoned railroad line. When Kirk gives the signal, one player will step onto the bar while their partner stands on the opposite. Next, lock hands, lean on each other, and walk along the rails. Be sure to keep your balance?because if you fall into the water, you must both go back and start again. Kirk hits the Silver Snakes? gong to demonstrate, which?in turn?lights up a bright silver.

?Let?s rock!? replies Olmec.

?All right, then!? says Kirk. ?On your marks, get set? GO!?

The players immediately start to move, grabbing onto each other and beginning to move along the rails. ?They?ve got to lean on each other,? explains Kirk, ?but just enough to balance?they don?t want to push each other into the water!? The Red Jaguars obviously have not listened to this advice?they fall together into the water, and the boy on the Green Monkeys gets pushed off by his partner a few seconds later. ?Oh!? Kirk exclaims as an Orange Iguana splashes down into the water, while the Purple Parrots make their way toward the end of the railway. ?Looks like we may have our first team soon?? comments Kirk, as the Purple Parrots finish crossing the Moat and hit their gong together. ?And it?s the Purple Parrots!? As the Purple Parrots celebrate, the Silver Snakes step onto the deck, and hit their gong to become the second team advancing.

?We?ve got two teams now, we?re still looking for two more, though,? says Kirk, as the Orange Iguanas begin to speed up as they near the end. The Red Jaguars have fallen into the water?both of them?again, and the Blue Barracudas lose their balance after being sprayed by the Red Jaguars? splash, and the girl on the Blue Barracudas falls into the water. ?Green Monkeys are hot on the Orange Iguanas? tail!? commentates Kirk, but the Orange Iguanas have already stepped off the railway. ?And we?ve got our third team!? yells Kirk as the Orange Iguanas hit their gong. ?We?re looking for one more?? Kirk is cut off the ring of the Green Monkeys? gong, which ends the round. ?And we?ve got it! That?s it!?

?I?m partyin? like a rock star, Kirk!? shouts Olmec across the stage.

?Well, then let?s get this party started!? Kirk declares loudly. ?OK, teams! On your marks, get set? GO!?

On this final word, the players begin to spring into action, holding each other?s hands tightly as they step out onto their pair of bars stretching the width of the Moat. ?It?s an exercise of balance and teamwork,? Kirk explains, ?because they?ve gotta push on each other to keep their balance?but if they push too much, they might fall in.? The Blue Barracudas seem to have the idea at this point, as with the Orange Iguanas, and they move across the railway quickly, while the Green Monkeys lag behind. ?Oh, red fell into the water!? shouts Kirk as the Red Jaguars, one on top of the other, fall into the Moat with a massive splash. ?Woah!? Kirk exclaims as the spray from their drop is sent in different directions. ?Green Monkeys are making their move now, but here come the Blue Barracudas?? The Blue Barracudas appear at the end of the Moat, and they step off and slam down on their gong immediately after. About five seconds later, we see the Orange Iguanas doing the same.

?Just like that, we?ve got two teams,? comments Kirk, ?but we?re still looking for two more?? The Silver Snakes fall into the water right as the Purple Parrots pass the halfway mark. The Green Monkeys, now knowing what to do, move more quickly across the railway and reach the end not long after. ?We?ve got our third team; it?s the Green Monkeys!? Kirk announces as the ring of the Green Monkeys? gong sounds. ?Now, who?s gonna be our fourth?the Purple Parrots, the Silver Snakes, or the Red Jaguars?? It looks like it may be? the Red Jaguars!? yells Kirk as the Red Jaguars hit their gong to end the round. ?Nice job!?

Kirk runs over to the Orange Iguanas, standing beside their lit gong. ?Nice job, guys!? Kirk says to them. ?Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Orange Iguanas?and the Green Monkeys?and the Blue Barracudas?and the Red Jaguars.?

Olmec replies, ?The Legend of The Silk Sari of the Muhammad Jinnah!?

?Ooh, the Silk Sari of Muhammad Jinnah!? says Kirk. ?Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the sari?will it be The Red Jaguars??

At this point, the camera focuses on each team as they are introduced.

?The Blue Barracudas??
?The Green Monkeys??
?The Orange Iguanas??
?The Purple Parrots??
?Or the Silver Snakes??

?They?re going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests,? continues Kirk, ?and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec?s temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and Olmec?s gonna tell us how they have to do it today.?

Olmec instructs:
?Before you lie the remains of a old railroad line. When Kirk gives the signal, step onto the bar while your partner stands on the opposite, then lock hands and lean on each other, and walk along the bars. But be sure to keep your balance?if you fall into the water, you must both go back and start again. When you reach the other side, run over and hit the gong!?

Kirk hits the Silver Snakes? gong to demonstrate, which?in turn?lights up a bright silver.

?The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round,? finishes Olmec. ?All right, teams!? yells Kirk. ?Are you ready??

The teams excitedly reply, ?Yeeaahhhh!?

Kirk then asks, ?Olmec, are you ready??

?Oh, yeah!?  booms Olmec.

?Ho-kay, Mr. Olmec,? laughs Kirk. ?On your marks, get set? GO!?

All twelve players step onto their bars. The Red Jaguars and the Orange Iguanas make a smart move by holding on to each other before moving out onto the railway tracks and soon pull ahead after the other teams, trembling and trying to hold on as they step slowly sideways. ?The trick to this one,? explains Kirk, ?is so that when you lean against each other, you can balance?but you?ve got to be careful not to put too much weight on one of you!? The girl on the Green Monkeys falls backward, and her partner falls between the railway tracks, and have to go back. ?The Red Jaguars are coming up fast!? comments Kirk, as the Red Jaguars reach the end and hit their gong. ?We?re still looking for three more teams, though?? The Orange Iguanas and Silver Snakes are the next two to finish, banging down on their moss-covered buttons at about the same time. Meanwhile, the Purple Parrots collapse into the water in the same direction?the girl falling RIGHT on top of her partner as they splash into the misty water?and the Blue Barracudas go ahead.

We see a long shot of the Moat, the fog on the surface of the water dissipating as the Purple Parrots are seen beginning again, and the Blue Barracudas about halfway across the Moat. ?Oh, Green Monkeys lost their balance again!? shouts Kirk as the girl on the Green Monkeys falls between the rails. ?Who?s gonna be our fourth team?? Kirk asks as the Blue Barracudas nearly reach the end. ?It looks like it may be the Blue Barracudas?? The Blue Barracudas finally step off onto the deck, mist completely gone from the Moat, and finally hit their gong to end the round. ?OK, we?ve got our four teams!? shouts Kirk, sounding exhausted.

Kirk is seen standing next to the Silver Snakes. ?Whoo, that was tiring!? he sighs, ?but going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes?and the Orange Iguanas?and the Blue Barracudas?and the Red Jaguars.?

?The Green Monkeys and the Purple Parrots gave it a great effort,? he says. ?They?re not going away empty handed?we?ve got a great gift for them, and here?s what it is.?

Olmec replies, ?The Legend of The Feathered Crown of Prince Edward!?

?Ho-ho, the Feathered Crown of Prince Edward,? says Kirk. ?Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the crown?will it be The Red Jaguars??

At this point, the camera focuses on each team as they are introduced.

When Kirk gives the signal, step onto the bar and stand opposite your partner on the other, lock hands and lean on each other, and walk along the bars. But make sure to keep your balance?if you fall into the water, you must both go back and start again. When you reach the other side, run over and hit the gong!?

Kirk hits the Silver Snakes? gong to demonstrate, which?in turn?lights up a bright silver.

?The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round,? finishes Olmec. ?Teams!? calls Kirk. ?Are you ready??

The teams excitedly reply, ?Yeeaahhhh!?

Kirk then asks, ?Olmec, are you ready??

?Rockin? and ready,?  replies Olmec.

?Alright teams,? calls Kirk. ?On your marks, get set? GO!?

The six teams slowly begin, players shaking as they try to balance while holding only their partners? hands, although the task is quite impossible to be completed quickly. ?They?re doing a great job so far,? comments Kirk, ?but it looks like the Red Jaguars and the Orange Iguanas are takin? the lead!? True enough, those two teams seem to be having the most trust and move without much trouble across the railway lines, while both Silver Snakes are shaking violently at the knees trying to hold onto their balance. ?It looks like we may be having our first team soon?? announces Kirk, as the Red Jaguars make their way near the end of the tracks. ?Here they come?? The Red Jaguars both step off onto the deck, and the boy runs over to slam down on the gong.

?We?ve got our first team!? yells Kirk as the other teams continue to move slowly and steadily across the railway lines. ?But here come the Orange Iguanas!? The Orange Iguanas finish second and hit their gong, quickly followed by the Blue Barracudas. ?We need one more team!? reminds Kirk. ?Who?s it gonna be?? The girl on the Silver Snakes seems to be stopping her partner from moving, trying not to fall in, while the Green Monkeys sidestep faster and faster until they reach the end, run over, and they unanimously slam down on their gong. ?We?ve got our four teams!? announces Kirk.

Kirk runs all the way down the deck till he reaches the first qualifying team. ?Going on to the Steps of Knowledge,? he announces, ?are the Orange Iguanas?and the Green Monkeys?and the Blue Barracudas?and the Red Jaguars.?

?The Silver Snakes and Purple Parrots gave it a great effort,? he says, ?and we?re not gonna send them away empty handed. We?ve got a great gift for them, and here?s what it is.?

At this point, the camera focuses on each team as they are introduced.

?Before you, an ancient post protrudes from the water, and in front of it is an old vine. When Kirk gives the signal, climb up the ladder and balance yourself on top of the pole. Then, grab the rope and swing out to the other platform, and slide down onto the deck. Then your partner will climb up the post, swing out to the platform and slide onto deck. When the second player reaches the other side, run over and hit the gong!?

Kirk hits the Silver Snakes? gong to demonstrate, which?in turn?lights up a bright silver.

?The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round,? finishes Olmec. ?All right, teams?are you ready?? Kirk asks.

The teams excitedly reply, ?Yeeaahhhh!?

Kirk then asks, ?Olmec, are you ready??

?I?m ready ta roll!? replies Olmec.

?So am I,? responds Kirk. ?Teams! On your marks, get set? GO!?

The first player from each team begins climbing the ladders, with no clear leader. ?Now comes the tough bit?swinging across,? says Kirk as the first swings are made. ?And the Blue Barracudas?ve fallen in! Orange Iguanas have got their first player on, here come the rest?? Despite the Blue Barracudas? slip-up, the second players are all neck-and-neck, and it isn?t long until the gongs start ringing in unison. ?This is going to be close!? shouts Kirk as the first players make it onto the deck. ?One? two? three?? Kirk counts as each gong sounds ?? FOUR! We?ve got our four teams right there! Stop right there??

A bird?s-eye view shot shows the four lit gongs before Kirk appears onscreen standing next to the Silver Snakes. ?Going on to the Steps of Knowledge,? he announces, ?are the Silver Snakes?and the Purple Parrots?and the Blue Barracudas?and the Red Jaguars.?

?The Green Monkeys and the Orange Iguanas gave it a great effort too,? he says, ?and they?re not going away empty handed. We?ve got a great gift for them, and here?s what it is??

The Temple Games / Complete the Sentence!
« on: June 16, 2010, 04:38:52 AM »
Based on Toltendo's game, but with a very different premise.

The object of the game is to come up with a humorous or just incredibly random conclusion to an unfinished sentence. This would be an example:

Person #1: When I drive my car...
Person #2: ... I always bring my pet turtle with me.

And then Person #2 comes up with an unfinished sentence, and Person #3 would complete it and create a new unfinished sentence, and so on, and so forth.

Let's begin:
Every morning when I wake up...

?Alright then,? says Kirk. ?On your marks, get set? GO!?

The six teams climb their ladders, with the Red Jaguars taking a clear lead. ?Oh, it?s slippery today!? comments Kirk as the mist rises up of the Moat. The camera then switches to a shot, and all six teams are swinging across with about even speed. ?Now they have to get to the other side? Noooo! Orange Iguanas fell in, now they have to go back, try again?? Indeed, the Orange Iguanas are the only team not to make it to the platform and after the second batch of teammates swing across, the gongs start chiming unanimously. ?Here they come!? yells Kirk. ?One? two? three? We?ve got our four teams, right here!?

Kirk runs over to The Silver Snakes onscreen. ?Nice job Silver Snakes,? he says, ?they had no trouble at all? Going on to the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes??
