The Moat / Legends Interactive Game?
« on: September 10, 2006, 01:31:37 PM »
Just a suggestion, I just thought maybe I could host an interactive Legends game, where we have 12 players & I randomly divide them into 6 teams & go through the whole cycle. The Temple would be season 3 layout, in case you are wondering. I know that the Treasure Room is for fan things, but maybe we can have a different section for it? We could make as many editions as we want with different hosts, but I would host the first one.

So how does that sound?

Episode 12: ?The Blood-Stained Fang of Dracula?

*the camera zooms in on an ancient lush jungle, the palms are moving away as an elephant is heard*

*all the palms are gone, showing Olmec*

Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple. With your guide? Kirk Fogg!

*Kirk is shown slidding down a zipline & jumping off into the usual area*

Kirk: Thank you everyone. Thank you Olmec. Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple. The rooms are The rooms are filled with lost treasures protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple. Which one are we going to hear about today?

Olmec: The Blood-Stained Fang of Dracula.

Kirk: The Blood-Stained Fang of Dracula! Well, one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Flower. Will it be *camera zooms into each team as they cheer & the usual* The Red Jaguars? The Blue Barracudas? The Green Monkeys? The Orange Iguanas? The Purple Parrots? Or the Silver Snakes? They?re going to have to pass some tough mental and physical tests, and in the end, only one team will have the right to enter Olmec?s temple, but first they have to cross the moat, and Olmec will tell us how they?ll have to do it today.

Olmec: Each team will have a set of monkey bars going across the moat above them. On go, the first player will make it across the monkey bars to the other side. If they fall before they get to the other side, they will have to go back. When they make it across, they'll throw an inner-tube (attached to a rope tied to the pole) to their partner. If the tube is close enough, the partner will jump in it & the first player will pull the rope so the tube & player can get across. When the second player gets across, they will run over & hit the gong.*Kirk bangs the Silver Snakes? gong*. The first four teams to hit their gong will go on to the next round.

Kirk: Alright, teams are you ready?!

*the teams cheer*

Kirk: Olmec, are you ready?!

Olmec: You bet!

Kirk: On your marks? get set? GO!!!!!

*the first players start going across the monkey bars*

*the Blue Barracudas have an early lead, with the Silver Snakes, Red Jagaurs, & Green Monkeys behind*

*Red Jaguars fall, along with the Purple Parrots, so the order now is Blue Barracudas, Silver Snakes, Green Monkeys, & Orange Iguanas*

*those 4 teams get across & start throwing the tubes, while Red Jaguars & Purple Parrots are still on the monkey bars*

*the Orange Iguanas get their tube over first, they?re pulling themselves across & bang their gong first*

*the Red Jaguars get across the monkey bars while the Blue Barracudas & Green Monkeys are in the tube & bang their gongs second & third respectively*

*the Red Jaguars & Silver Snakes are both in their tubes & are in a pulling race*

*Silver Snakes get across, because Red Jaguars fall out of their tube, & bang their gong*

Kirk: Wow, that was intense! Going onto the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes! & the Orange Iguanas! & the Green Monkeys! & the Blue Barracudas! Red Jaguars & Purple Parrots fought hard, but just didn?t do good enough, you still get a prize! *Olmec explains prize*

Kirk: *the camera changes to the four dry teams on the top of the Steps of Knowledge*
As the quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about the Blood-Stained Fang of Dracula. Bur before we get started, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec?s Temple.

Olmec: One of the most popular stories of all time is Bram Stoker?s Dracula. Published in May of 1897, Dracula was the horror story of Jonathan Harker?s journey in Dracula Castle, after being invited to stay while on his duties as a mail man. Harker soon becomes trapped in the castle, but finds his way out.

Harker: Get away from me!

Dracula: I vant to suck your blood!

Olmec: Eventually, he got help from his devoted fianc?e, the fianc?e?s friend, Dr. Van Helsing, & a group of people. While Dracula sleeps at night in a coffin, all they had to do was drive a stake through his heart. While they succeeded, Dracula already had many victims blood thirsty, & he someone was brought back from the dead. While Dracula is long gone from Transylvania now, when he bit his final victim, one of Dracula?s fangs, stained with the victim?s blood, was imbedded in the victim?s neck, & when he died, the fang made it?s way to the Temple! Your job now is to find the Blood-Stained Fang of Dracula & bring it back here!

Kirk: Olmec, where is the Fang?

Olmec: The Blood-Stained Fang of Dracula can be found in the Anaconda?s Sanctaury!

Kirk: OK. Teams: you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about today?s legend. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. Go ahead, stomp on it!

*Orange Iguanas hit the step*

Kirk: OK, Orange Iguanas, since you rang in first, you would be able to answer. If you?re right, you?ll move down to the next level. If you?re wrong or run out of time, I?m going to give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level *Kirk runs down there* will be one step closer to Olmec?s Temple. Olmec, we are now ready for the first question.

Olmec: Who journeyed into Dracula?s Castle? Jonathan Harker, Jamie Harker, or Jonathan Parker?

Green Monkeys: Jonathan Harker!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Green Monkeys move down a step*

Olmec: Dracula was published in what month of 1897: April, May, or June?

Green Monkeys: May!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Green Monkeys move down a step*

Kirk: Green Monkeys, one more correct answer & you move onto the Temple Games.

Olmec: When Dracula bites a victim, do they: Die, become a vampire, or fall in a 100 year sleep?

Green Monkeys: Become a vampire!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Green Monkeys move down to the bottom step*

Kirk: One more team can make it, it?s anybody?s game.

Olmec: Who was the doctor that supposedly put Dracula to rest permanently: Dr. Doom, Dr. Van Helsing, or Dr. Will?

Blue Barracudas: Dr. Doom!

*the audience laughs hysterically*

Olmec: Incorrect!

Orange Iguanas: Dr. Van Helsing!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Orange Iguanas move down a step*

Olmec: Does Dracula sleep in: A bed, a desk, or a coffin?

Orange Iguanas: A coffin!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Orange Iguanas move down a step*

Kirk: Orange Iguanas, one more correct answer & you move onto the Temple Games!

Olmec: Can you kill a vampire by: shooting it with a sho---

Silver Snakes: Uh? never mind.

Olmec: That is not one of the three choices. The three choices are: shooting it with a shot gun, strangling him or her, or driving a stake through their heart?

Orange Iguanas: Driving a?. stake? Through their heart!

Olmec: That is? CORRECT!

*Orange Iguanas move down by the Green Monkeys*

Kirk: Wow, that was intense! Blue Barracudas & Silver Snakes, you just couldn?t get your buzzers to work. Tough luck, but you won?t be going away empty handed, hear is what you get. *Olmec explains prize*

Kirk: *only Green Monkeys & Orange Iguanas are present* These two teams will be going head to head in the Temple Games, to fight to enter Olmec?s Temple, right after this!

The Heart Room / Taping All 120 Episodes (If You Are Interested, READ)
« on: August 11, 2006, 06:05:33 PM »
I have recently been interested in the project of taping all 120 episodes of Legends of the Hidden Temple. I have thought of the timeline of September 1st to October 30th (because 2 episodes a day, 60 days, 120 episodes). Well, I did all the copy pasting from my Legends log. The first episode should be The Treasure Map of Jean Laffite, & the last one being The Dried Apple Half of William Tell. I made up the list of the episodes, but realizing the pattern of the 2 month rotations, they rotate the episodes (like the next time today's episodes are on, the Blue Pearl of the Dragon Lady will be first, the Cracked Crown of the Spanish King being second). If you want me to post the list (without all the order changes), I'll be happy to do it. So get those tapes ready!!!!!

*the other 4 teams make it across & they throw the inner tubes to the girls*

*while the Red Jaguars make it across the monkey bars & the Blue Barracudas fall, the Orange Iguanas & Silver Snakes get the inner tube, Green Monkeys & Purple Parrots throw too short*

*Orange Iguanas bang their gong first, Silver Snakes bang their gong second*

*Blue Barracudas make it across, only the Green Monkeys throw the tube far enough, & eventually bang the gong third*

*after endless attempts to throw the tube & heavy editing, the Purple Parrots bang their gong fourth*

Kirk: Wow, that was a long moat! Going onto the Steps of Knowledge are the Silver Snakes! & the Purple Parrots! & the Orange Iguanas! & the Green Monkeys! Red Jaguars & Blue Barracudas, hey, you guys did great, but just came up short. You won?t be going away empty handed. *Olmec explains prize*

*the camera changes to the four dry teams on the top of the Steps of Knowledge*

Kirk: As the quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about the First Flower of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Bur before we get started, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec?s Temple.

Olmec: One of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World are the Hanging Gardens of Babylon. Though, these gardens were actually hanging, as in suspended by cables or ropes, they were still an amazing sight, built by King Nebuchadnezzar II, around 600 B.C, for his homesick wife, Amyitis.

Amyitis: I wanna go home!

Nebuchadnezzar: Now what can I do about that honey? Everyone will think I?m a wimp if I just leave the Babylon Empire!

Amyitis: Um? build me a garden! I?ll tell you what flowers to plant & such. Then you plant the flowers, & wham! I?ll be happy!

Nebuchadnezzar: *sigh* It?s never easy as a king.

Olmec: & with that, King Nebuchadnezzar & his crew built a garden & Amyitis felt right at home! When the garden was finished, the first flower, which was planted by King Nebuchadnezzar himself, had disappeared & made its way to the Temple! Your goal is to find the First Flower of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon & bring it back here!

Kirk: Olmec, where is the First Flower?

Olmec: The First Flower of the Hanging Gardens of Babylon can be found in the Shriiiiine of the Siiilver Monkey!

Kirk: OK. Teams: you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about today?s legend. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. Go ahead, stomp on it!

*Silver Snakes hit the step*

Kirk: OK, Silver Snakes, since you rang in first, you would be able to answer.

Olmec: Was King Nebuchadnezzar II king of the: Persian Empire, Babylonian Empire, or Chinese Empire?

Silver Snakes: Babylonian Empire!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Silver Snakes move down a step*

Olmec: Was King Nebuchadnezzar II?s wife named: Adrianne, Alicia, or Amyitis?

Purple Parrots: Amyitis!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Purple Parrots move down a step*

Olmec: Did Nebuchadnezzar II make the gardens because Amyitis was feeling: Homesick, Carsick, or Nauseas?

Orange Iguanas: Homesick!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Orange Iguanas move down a step*

Olmec: Were the Hanging Gardens of Babylon actually hanging in the air? Yes, No, or They Were At One Point?

Orange Iguanas: No, they were not!

Olmec: You got it kids!

*Orange Iguanas move down a step*

Kirk: Orange Iguanas, one more right answer & you move onto the Temple Games.

Olmec: Was the first flower planted by: Amyitis, Nebuchadnezzar II, or One of Nebuchadnezzar II?s workers?

Orange Iguanas: Nebuchadnezzar II!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Orange Iguanas move down to the bottom step*

Kirk: Good job! One more team can make it, Green Monkeys, you still have a chance!

Olmec: Is Babylon located in current day: Iraq, Iran, or Saudi Arabia?

Green Monkeys: Iraq!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Green Monkeys move down a step*

Olmec: Was Babylon the largest city in the world for: 5 years, 10 years, or 20 years?

Silver Snakes: 20 years!

Olmec: Incorrect!

Green Monkeys: 10 years!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Green Monkeys move down a step*

Kirk: Green Monkeys, one more question & you move on.

Olmec: Are the Hanging Gardens of Babylon one of the Seven Wonders of the: Modern World, Ancient World, or Mechanical World?

Green Monkeys: Ancient World!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Green Monkeys move down to the bottom step*

Kirk: Oh, nice try Purple Parrots, good job Silver Snakes! You guys just weren?t quick enough, but you did get an early lead, you wont? be gong home empty handed. *Olmec explains prize*

Kirk: *only Green Monkeys & Orange Iguanas are present* These two teams will be going head to head in the Temple Games, to fight to enter Olmec?s Temple, right after this!

The Treasure Room / Legends of the Hidden Temple: Real Life
« on: July 26, 2006, 10:24:02 AM »
Today, at camp, some of the counselors (& a 6th grader) helped set up this Temple, filled with mats & stuff & called it "Legends of the Hidden Temple". No one told me, so I got to play with another counselor. We wanted to be the Purple Parrots, but there were 12 teams, including us, so it was messed up. No Moat, but I don't blame them. The Steps of Knowledge. 9 questions about the counselors (they didn't do any questiosn about me & my partner). I got the second question right. By the way, each time you got a question, you got a Pendant of Life. Then, if you got a question right, you had to sit out for the rest, but your partner can still get a question. Then, my partner, who didn't read the bio sheet, I whispered the 5th question's answer to her. w00t! At the end, we were the only team with 2 Pendants, some people had none. So I went in the Temple first out of anybody. I had to crawl though this tunnel & pop out. Wham, Temple Guard (another counselor) took my Pendant. I ran through the hallway & I got stopped by the 6th grader. He wouldn't let me through, since I didn't have a Pendant with me now. So I had to backtrack, jump over a hurdle, & I'm supposed to roll across a scooter, as a Temple Guard tells me, & grab another Pendant, which is hidden around this hurdle of a mat. I didn't use the scooter, ran across, & grabbed the Pendant, in front of the hurdle, ran back to the 6th grader & ran across Home Plate. 50.27 seconds. Other people got 11 seconds & like 20, because they got let out through secret exits by nice Temple Guards, & apparently, I found out later that people who were going into the Temple with a Pendant, they weren't supposed to find the extra Pendant & just run through the 6th grader. It was pretty cheap, I thought it was crap, but still cool that we're doing Legends at camp! The head counselor said next week ( :( the last week), we'll do another one, but he'll make it much better. It was pretty cool.

Olmec: One of the most popular sports today is basketball. Invented by the Canadian native & Scottish immigrant, James Naismith contributed many new rules to sports, including helmets for football & the whole game of basketball in the late 1800s, but it wasn?t that easy coming up with the rules!

James: I wonder how we?ll transport the ball? run with it & get tackled? Nah, too rough. Oh, how about throwing it off the wall & catching it? Will there even be a wall? If there is, too simple anyway. I got it! You gotta? dribble the ball, by bouncing it on the ground! That?s it! Now what do we throw the ball into to score points?

Olmec: Originally, the basketball hoop was a peach basket, & one of the peach baskets from the first official game made its way to the Temple! Your job is to find the Peach Basket of James Naismith & bring it back here!

Kirk: Tell us Olmec, where is the Peach Basket?

Olmec: The Peach Basket of James Naismith can be found in the Ranch!

Kirk: OK. Teams: you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about today?s legend. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. Go ahead, stomp on it!

The first two teams to make it to the bottom level *Kirk runs down there* will be one step closer to Olmec?s Temple. Olmec, we are now ready for the first question.

Kirk: As the quest continues, it?s now time for Olmec to tell us about the Enchanted Radioactive Test Tube of Marie Curie. Bur before we get started, pay attention, because your knowledge of the legend can bring you a step closer to Olmec?s Temple.

Olmec: Arguably the best woman scientist of all time is Marie Curie. She was the only woman to win 2 Nobel Prizes in different fields, chemistry & physics. She was the first woman in France to complete her doctorate. But it was not all easy, being born in Poland, still under the control of Russia. She suffered a very hard life, with her sister & mother dying around the same time. She suffered a severe mental breakdown after these events. She married Pierre Curie, who showed the same love of science as she did, but after he died, a scandal went around that she was seeing another man, who left his wife. In 1934, she died of aplastic asthma, almost certainly due to her massive exposure to radiation in her work. She would always carry test tubes filled with radioactive isotopes in her pocket, & stored them in her drawer, but one of the test tubes has made it?s way to the Temple! Your job is to find the Radioactive Test Tube of Marie Curie & bring it back here!

Kirk: Where is the Radioactive Test Tube?

Olmec: The Radioactive Test Tube of Marie Curie can be found in the Chamber of the Royal Containers!

Kirk: OK. Teams: you are standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question about today?s legend. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. Go ahead, stomp on it!

*Green Monkeys hit the step*

Kirk: OK, Green Monkeys, since you rang in first, you would be able to answer.

Olmec: Was Marie Curie born in Poland, Russia, or Canada?

Purple Parrots: Poland!

Olmec: At the time, was Poland under control of: Sweden, China, or Russia?

Red Jaguars: Russia!

*Green Monkeys move down a step*

Olmec: Which one of these was not a field that Marie Curie won the Nobel Prize in: Physics, Anatomy, or Chemistry?

Green Monkeys: Anatomy!

Green Monkeys: Warsaw!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Green Monkeys move down to the bottom step*

Kirk: One more team can make it; Orange Iguanas still have a chance!

Purple Parrots: Radiation!

Olmec: That is correct!

*Purple Parrots move down a step*

Kirk: Purple Parrots need 1 more correct answer!

Olmec: Did Marie Curie carry test tubes filled with radioactive: Atoms, Isotopes, or Molecules?

Olmec: That is correct!

*Purple Parrots move down with the Green Monkeys*

Kirk: Red Jaguars, Orange Iguanas, you guys gave it a great effort. You?ll still go home with a great prize! *Olmec explains prize*

When Bellerophon died, Pegasus delivered Zeus? lightning bolts to him.

Zeus: Thank you Pegasus, you are a very loyal friend.

Pegasus: *neighs*

Olmec: With that, Pegasus stayed to help the gods. He eventually took a wife. He & Euippe, his wife, are the origin of the first family of winged horses. Because the feather was enchanted, it grew into an enchanted wing, which eventually made it?s way to the Temple! Your quest is to find the Enchanted Wing of Pegasus & bring it back here!

The emblem around her head was that of a throne. She juggled the activities of being queen of the gods, and taking care of her son, Horus. She might have been a sweet loving mother, but she was as tough as nails. One person tried to kill Horus, so there would be no heir to the throne, but she took care of him.

Isis: How dare you try to kill him!

Killer: I want to lead the throne, not your silly son, & he?s gonna die for that!

Isis: Never!

Olmec: & with that, Isis took her royal septor & struck the person on the head.

Killer: Ouch! Agh, now I know never mess with Isis!
