Today's eps:

The Lost Lion Tail of Little John

Yet another of those frustrating Runs where a slow-witted partner has to pick up where the speedy frontrunner left off and fails miserably.  This time, it was the boy who had to pick up after the girl, but the result was still the same: disasterous.

The Lost Logbooks of Magellan:

Not many mistakes here.  It was the lack of the second half-pendant that did this team in.  No team ever even reached an artifact located in the Dungeon, but this team came the closest.  If they had just found the missing half-pendant, they could've at least gotten the logbooks, if not escaped.

The Stone Marker of Leif Erickson:

Oy.  The design in this episode was just horrendus.  There was absolutely no way the team was gonna succeed, especially when the frontrunner got to the Bamboo Forest, only to encounter a Guard, and a dead end that stalled her for a full minute.  Her partner did all he could, but didn't nearly have enough time to make any further progress.

The Snow Cone of Mount Kilimanjaro

And, an 0-2 day on the block today.  :(  This was a pretty mediorcre and disappointing loss, so I shan't be commenting on this one.

The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland

Olmec seemed to have a lot of fun in this episode.  He used the Roland pun when asked if he was ready for the moat crossing, and during the legend explaination, he made a quip about "having more tricks than David Copperfield" which I thought was funny.  The temple run itself is magnificent.  The frontrunner was pretty fast and quite smart, and makes it out in a brisk 1:49, the second fastest completion in the show's run.

The Priceless Portrait of the Polynesian Girl

A rather strange design, but a very exciting non-win.  Also, listen to Olmec's voice when he does his typical "SHRINE of the Silver Monkey" deal.  :)

The Codebook of Mata Hari

The frontrunner here ends up being one room away from the codebook, but unfortunately, a Temple Guard ruins all hope of success.  The second runner had absolutely no chance after that, only managing to enter the Holes of Python before time ran out.

The Ruby Earring of Benzibab

From one of the most disappointing episodes of the series, to one of the best.  This is a great team effort, as the Snakes get the job done with a full minute left!  (The only episode in the show's history that a successfull team temple run takes less than 2 minutes).  That, combined with Kirk's unusual energy, makes for one of the best episodes in the series.

On yesterday's GUTS block, they had a tennis event called "Aces".  IIRC, that event only showed up once or twice in the show's run.

The Useless Map of the Chibcha Chieftain

The Lucky Pillow of Annie Taylor

The first episode today features a very quick Temple Run.  Just over half of the alotted time remains when the third Guard ends the run.

The second one, however, is a Legends classic.  Missy becomes the first contestant ever to conquer the classic "Place the artifact in the center of the temple" trick that stymied almost every other Legends team before and after her.  She was a nervous wreck throught the whole episode, but she came, saw, and conquered the Temple despite all that.

A 2-for-2 day on the Legends block today!

The Milk Bucket of Freydis- Ah, yes... the legendary jump that was not to be.  LOL.  Definately one of the funniest moments in Legends history.  Tarrah wasn't the fastest, or the smartest runner in the world, but she got the job done, even if it did end rather painfully. :P

Not much to say about the Helmet of Genghis Kahn.  The layout was somewhat easy, so the chances were good that the Run result in a win.

Well, a 50/50 day today, as episode 1 features one of the last great moments in Legends history (rumor has it that this was the last ever episode recorded, as evidenced by the cut-off to the credits The Purple Parrot mentioned.)

The back end of the doubleheader is another in the long line of tragic Temple Runs.  Parrot already gave his detailed thoughts on this one, so I'll end this post right here.

The Shriveled Hand of Efoua
The War Fan of the 47 Ronin

And, two more disappointing Temple Runs.  We're majorly due for a win here.

The Bifocal Monocle of One-Eyed Jack
The Water Bottle of Ponce de Leon

Two of the trickiest Temple layouts of all time today.  The second team comes within a ladder's distance of the artifact, before encountering the temple guard that would end up being their downfall.

2 more rather disappointing runs today.  Although, to be fair, the artifact in the first episode was pretty big, so they might not have had a chance to make it out anyway.

The Lost Whalebone of Pythias

The Golden Earring of Henry Morgan

The first ep is another in a long line of disappointing Runs, as the dreaded "artifact in the center of the temple" trick, coupled with a pathetically slow second runner dooms the team.  Episode #2 is one of the most exciting non-wins in the show.  Just getting the earring with the luck they had is considered a victory in my books.

The Heart Room / Temple Guards

Not exactly a scare, but today's first episode had a rather hilarious Temple Guard moment.  The second runner gets caught by the third Guard, and not knowing the Run ends when a backrunner has less than a full pendant, she gives him her half pendant and keeps on running for a good 6 seconds before she realizes it's over.  Even Kirk fails to realize the run had ended and just let her go before finally stopping her.

Man, those Temple Guards are so brutal!  It's bad enough getting the snot scared outta ya, just imagine getting laughed at shortly afterwards.
