The Moat / FAQ Questions
« on: July 02, 2006, 08:47:41 PM »
It seems that the FAQ questions accessible from the navigation bar don't seem to work when clicked--at least not for me. Is there any way this can be fixed?

The Heart Room / Worst consolation prize?

I also think that was a savings bond, I think most of those prizes that were foods were

I was under the impression that some of the food products were themselves given away, while other times it was a $50 savings bond sponsored by the company that made it. I suppose it's tough to tell considering many of the prize ads were replaced in 1997, when the show was in reruns, to appeal to the then-current crowd.

The Heart Room / Kirk's Fogg-Ups - What are your favorites?
« on: July 02, 2006, 07:15:26 AM »

Not exactly a Fogg-up, but of the same ilk.

In the Mysterious Manuscript of Mary Shelley (thanks for the upload BTW), after Olmec's description of the third temple game, Kirk goes ''Oh, I've played this game before. It's called Ring Around the Monster!''

Silence.

Kirk musta felt like an idiot after that bomb.

Kirk also had a good one in another episode... I forgot which it was, but it was the game where the players had to swing out on trapezes to transfer objects from one to another. ''They'll have to meet each other over and over and over again... This sounds like 'Groundhog Day.'''

The Treasure Room / Make Up Your Own Artifacts

Yeh, but it's stone. Not a severed bloody piece.

Missing Eye of David, Shriveled Hand of Efoua...

The show didn't pay much attention to the nature of its artifacts.

The Heart Room / You or your Partner?
« on: July 01, 2006, 06:57:38 AM »
Aha! I just thought of a brilliant plan! If my partner really didn't want to be in the temple, I'd send her in first, but have her intentionally drop her pendant, so at the point of capture, I could pick up the pendant and continue on for the remainder of the run. Unless there's a freak chance that she doesn't run into a guard (or does in the room next to the artifact) we'd have some very good chances of victory!

The Heart Room / Dumbest person/persons?
« on: June 30, 2006, 08:14:51 PM »
I was thinking...
You have to give even the stupidest-looking contestants a bit of credit. They're racing against time through a huge vertical labyrinth, while forcing forth their memory of the brief introductions to the temple's rooms, under absolutely extreme pressure. We've all been nervious before and know its consequences... perhaps some of the contestants just couldn't stand it?

Heck, the temple is designed to be intimidating. The guards don't help it either. The contestants, while some obviously brighter than others, are all under that same pressure to do well and win the vacation.

The Treasure Room / Make up Your Own Kirk Entrances
« on: June 30, 2006, 07:11:17 PM »
Kirk runs from a temple guard in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey to the top room of the central shaft, where he rides a giant zip line down to the studio floor in front of the Steps of Knowledge, leaving the guard in his dust.

I think it's a good fanfic, but I'm having trouble believing the final outcome. Eight rooms traversed, and they still manage to get out of the temple with 53 seconds left? It just seems a little incredulous.

I feel pretty much the same way, although it is certainly possible. I mean, just look at what Shane did in ''The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba'' (http://www.geocities.com/nicklegends/episodelist/s2_l3_id11.html.) He got the artifact in his tenth room, and still left fifteen seconds to spare.

The Heart Room / Kirk's Fogg-Ups - What are your favorites?

I gotta go with the good ol' ''The Center of the Room.'' Totally made no sense.... woulda made sense if he said temple instead of room, but whatever.

Also, i gotta give credit to ''The Leopard-Skin Cloak of Annie Oakley'' because  as someone posted in here before me, Kirk murdered The Room of the Secret Password. It was like ''Now she's in the Room of the Secret Passage Cabinets!.... Cabinets of the Secret Passage!....Password...'' Also, i think this was the only episode in season 2 in which someone completed the objective of the Room of the Secret Password. It's weird cuz Chandra opens the cabinet and the password isn't on a tablet, it's actually written on the cabinet. Also, she says the same password twice, loud and clear both times, and the door to the shrine opens on the second time.....just thought that stuff was weird. :D

Wow, you're right! That was the only episode in the Second Season where the objective was completed in that room. That means it was completed even less than the mysterious Lightning Ball Room... Wow, I had never noticed that...

The Heart Room / Smartest person/persons?

I have to highly disagree with Mitchell from the Mocassins episode being the smartest. Sure he used the treasure chest, but he didn't even try the door to the shrine (which probably wouldn't have opened, but it woulda been worth a try). Also, all the rooms he passed through were the easiest rooms the temple had to offer of any season.... so... spare me the praise for this kid.... it was probably the most uninspiring win of the whole show.

Have you ever seen ''Robin Hood and Marian's Silk Ladder?'' Now, that was an uninspiring win!

And by the way, have you considered that Mitchell could have planned to pass through the easiest rooms of the temple? He dodged the two most troublemaking rooms in the temple: the Room of Harmonic Convergence and the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, and I think that was his intent. Hopefully he'll find me online and I can ask him what his real plan was.

The Dark Forest / Taco Bell

You know, I have never eaten there a single time in my life! That's probably because I try to avoid fast food (even thinking outside the bun) and I'm not a fan of Mexican food. Honestly, I don't plan on ever going there... :P
