The Heart Room / Re: Episode Order

Exactly. I don’t see the producers stopping the run and then saying:

“Whoops, no key in the pot, can you come back in a few weeks???”

It makes more sense if she threw up, and the producers said, “Why not go home tonight, and come back at one of our next tapings when you feel better....”

Of course it could be a lot of things. Maybe the producer got sick, Kirk felt ill, there was a different discrepancy/mistake with the run that prompted the producers to give them a second chance exc.

Me and a few other L.o.t.H.T. fans know that the secret battle plan run was postponed because the production crew apparently screwed up and forgot to put a key in one of the three clay pots (there were two keys in the pot in the silver cannonball run).

One thing bugs me about that though, why would they postpone it so long for a small error like that?

The team goes into the temple, and just because of a small malfunction in the King’s Storeroom, they just abandon the run for weeks?

In Galileo’s Cannonball, the elevator wasn’t working, and some editing made the issue a non-problem. Why couldn’t they have pulled a Ron from Treasure Chest, where they pan to Kirk for a few extra seconds and manually open the door. I highly doubt that they had an issue in the King’s Storeroom, and said “oh well” see you guys in a few weeks, we will try again!

There must have been an even bigger issue with the Temple that rendered any future runs impossible, or an issue with one of the contestants. I guess it’ll be a mystery we will never figure out.

I thought it was going to be released later in the month....

I was watching "The Lucky Medallion of Atocha", and I noticed something that I've never noticed before. As Ty is crossing the gate with the Medallion, you can see that he starts to trip down the steps. Then, when he is about two steps from the bottom (and looks like he's about to fall), the angle switches to him at the bottom, where he seems like he has been out of breath for a while, and stopped running a while ago, and Ty's excitement seems to have decreased.

Watch for yourself:

This could be nothing, but after rewatching the clip a few times, I also notice that the audience (which is present) seems to have a producer generated applause at a strange time, not when he crossed the gate, but after the scene changes.

My hypothesis is that Ty feel, he got up gave a hug, and they edited out the fall. Thoughts?

And going off my last comment: let's say we get the revival. Which type of Temple would we be seeing? The original or the current? Cause, at the moment given all we've been able to see, the new Temple is giving me the feel of shows like the UK's Jungle Run that has a team enter a jungle to collect tiny silver monkey statues in games which each statue giving them 10 seconds to enter the Monkey King's Temple and solve puzzles to get a Stone, Bronze, *ahem* Silver, and a Gold Monkey statue out in however much time they get.

Then again I'm jumping FAR ahead of everything. We haven't had any chance to see anything other than from the trailer and 360 video. But a guy can dream, can't he?

If a revival were to happen, I can 100% Guarantee you that it would be the original. Remember, while this is a kids show, this show only succeeds if the original viewers like this show, and pass it on to their kids, nephews exc. Search "Legends Of The Hidden Temple" on Google, and you already see people complaining about how the trailer didn't have enough Olmec or original content (even though I was very surprised how many things there were from the original).

You make a strong point. I just watched the 360 video they released, and they have a bunch of Easter Eggs in it, like the Steps Of Knowledge outside of the Temple, a yellow helmet, and most obvious, a skeleton wearing a Silver Snakes shirt and Kirk saying that "an explorer was so startled by a Guard that he fled, never to be heard from again" while in search of Henry the VIII's Great Seal, and we ALL know what happened in that episode :-)

The easter eggs are fun, and it tells me that the producers are paying attention. What I mean by that is, these aren't producers that watched a few episodes, took some themes from the old show, and made a movie. They've done all they can to try to connect to the "original" audience, and I wouldn't be surprised if they've read threads from this forum. I talk about how important the original audience is because frankly, that's what most important in this case.

There is a reason top rated magazines like Variety, E!, TMZ exc. have been talking about this, and it's because the original show was so important to a lot of kids growing up in that time period. Nickelodeon churns out movies like this all the time, but there has never been so much hype about a TV Movie before a release date is given.

One other thing, I always thought that if LOTHT was brought back for a fourth season, it would be a guy like Jeff Supthen or something like that, as he's young, and has hosted a lot of game shows (that frankly were failures). But now, I'm pretty confident in saying that Kirk would retain hosting duties (if he accepted) if the show continued. This is because there is now an incentive to keep him on, and that's the fact that he was in the TV Movie.

All in all, a lot of speculation, but there are so many more possibilities then there were a few months ago.

Ok, here is what I gather from the trailer, and what I think it means:

Basically, the movie takes place in a time when LOTHT did happen. The young kid (with the  :monkeys2: shirt) either watched the show when he was young and bought a shirt, or his father/cousin exc. remembers the temple and gave him his t-shirt. Either way, the young kid has some prior recollection of the show, because he remembers the Shrine of the Silver Monkey and Olmec.

There are a lot of other things one can gather from the trailer, but one thing I believe is that the movie could be a promo for a game show that would follow.

One thing I talked about a  few months ago is that the reason LOTHT wouldn't work now is because the show (which is geared for kids) would get 85% of viewers from people above 18 years old. Now, with the movie, young kids would be excited to watch the show, and people that remember the original would be just as hyped.

I wouldn't be surprised if you see a "Do you want to be on the Show?" promos during the commercial breaks of the movie.

Anyway, this is pure speculation, but I think it's an opportunity Nick wouldn't pass up.

OMG, this news has me absolutely excited for this fall.

Let's all pray that this leads to something.

I actually think they are making the movie to get younger kids into Legends. Then, they will do a "Want to be on Legends, this is your chance!" thing right around the airing of the movie for a revival of a game show similar to the 90s show.

I think the kids reception of the movie is what will make or break that, though.

That's super cool. Interesting that he said that it was "2016 version".

Also does his patch on his shirt say "Hidden Temple Park?"

Looks like "Isabela Moner" (whoever that is) will be starring in the movie and by the look for her instagram post, she doesn't seem to know about the old show. Of, course you know what they say, never trust an instagram post to form an opinion....

As a movie? That's.......interesting. I'd rather we just get season 4 of the game show instead. Now we get to potentially see Hollywood turn gold into shit, like they always do.

The wording from the Nick Executive via the Vanity article makes me feel like they are trying to get the kids of today into the LOTHT "world", and then if it succeeds (ratings wise and response) they will restore it into something else, or the "classic" 90's game.

Take a look at the wording and tell me if you feel the same way:

--
The goal, she said, is to turn viewers into fans, who want to keep talking about shows even after an episode ends. “Once you can convert a viewer into a fan, you can have an ongoing conversation with them,”.
--

This is why it's really important the TV Movie is good and captivates the audience.

A bad movie: No Season 4, and the show's reputation is severely tampered with, and the LOTHT book is fully shut.

A good movie: Kids, Adults and all in between are interested, and we end the LOTHT saga with a potential re-boot of our favorite show. I'd much rather see the show end in the classic game show that I grew up loving than the movie...

Well, if they are going to make a TV Movie, I hope it's in an effort to let younger audiences into the "LOTHT world" as a set up for a possible Season 4.

Am I asking to much?

I really hope this TV Movie doesn't ruin things.
