The Heart Room / Re: Legends Airdates
« on: March 04, 2019, 07:27:15 PM »
I found out that apparently "The Helmet of Joan of Arc" aired before "Alexander and the Gordian Knot", as someone apparently had the former as the first episode they caught on tape. Could it be true that of the two, "The Helmet of Joan of Arc" aired first?

Soundstage 18 / Blue's Clues "Blue's Birthday" Uncut
« on: March 02, 2019, 07:19:00 AM »
I was wondering if any of you happen to have caught "Blue's Birthday" on its prime-time premiere on June 14, 1998. I finally found a YouTube upload of the video birthday card from the UK version. It had Melissa Joan Hart, the season 2 cast of "The Wubbulous World of Dr. Seuss" (with Marty Robinson as the Cat in the Hat), and Whoopi Goldberg which are said to have been from when its early syndication in June and July of 1998. Also, there's an extra scene on VHS where Steve opens multiple gift boxes inside each other to reveal a blue heart-shaped "Thank You" cookie in the smallest box. Was that also in the original airing?

Given those two choices, I'd have to choose B.

Would you rather…

A. Be embarrassed about your love for kids' shows as an adult

B. Be embarrassed about not being thin

I hate to say it, but I don't think that petition is going to do anything. It only has 100+ signatures. No way is that going to get Legends rebooted.

As for the topic/poll question, I'm on the fence about this. On one hand, I would love to see new episodes of Legends. I want to see what it would look like. On the other hand, I'm scared to death that the people who would be in charge would butcher it badly. I don't want to see one of my favorite shows from my childhood get ruined. This is tough. I'm probably leaning towards no here.

Well I was thinking it could play out just like the original, but with some elements from the movie (such as Zuma returning to host with Kirk Fogg). Also, the new set should look more Mayan-themed and the insides of the temple would make future contestants feel they're running through an actual Mayan temple. Remember the movie? The inside of the temple looked more like what we'd see inside an actual Mayan temple.

Hopefully that won't ruin Legends for you. I personally expect the reboot (if it ever happens) to appeal to both today's kids and the many adults who watched it during their childhood in the 90s or 2000s, but I'll give you time to make up your mind.

I’m gonna have to say neutral on this because of the high expectations it would have. While a few of nick’s game shows did get rebooted, here were the results.

Double Dare 2000: Very bad. At least kept the obstacle course and most of the format the same. No Marc Summers ruins it.

My Family Got Guts: The worst remake of all. Used an abondoned studio. Had a two team format except for two episodes. The Crag was different. Tried to combine Guts with Double Dare.  Not memorable at all. Mike and Moira were never on.

Figure It Out: Actually they did this remake pretty well. While it was not as good as the 90’s version, it was still enjoyable and stayed true to most of its origins. Plus slime insanity, and a bonus for contestants getting slimed if a key word from the It Board (which replaced Billy the head). Jeff Sutphen did alright as host, but the panelists did drag the show down. Come to think of it, I don’t think a single panelist was a panlist in the 90s.

Double Dare: Too early to tell, but at least they got Marc Summers involved.

After that I might lean toward no, but I wouldn’t mind seeing it come back if they stay true to most of the shows roots and don’t stray away from it.

Well guess what: My petition just got 100 supporters.

The Treasure Room / Legends of the Hidden Temple at Super Bowl
« on: February 01, 2019, 07:01:51 AM »
Since Double Dare will air a show at this year's Super Bowl, I was wondering if Legends would do the same if it gets rebooted. I'm writing fanfics about two L.o.t.H.T. shows at next year's Super Bowl. Even if the team I root for (the New England Patriots) don't make it, I'll still watch the L.o.t.H.T. Super Bowl special if it ever happens (both shows, of course).

Here are the two shows:

Show 1: TBA
Show 2: TBA

Moat Crossing: Hanging from an ancient rope

Temple Layout:
Room of the Royal Gongs
Pit of Despair
Observatory
Medusa's Lair
Room of the Ancient Warriors
Shrine of the Silver Monkey
Room of the Secret Password
Pharaoh's Secret Passage
Quicksand Bog (Artifact Location 1)
Tomb of the Ancient Kings
Swamp (Artifact Location 2)
Throne Room
Ledges

The Pit / Legends of the Hidden Temple Reboot
« on: January 29, 2019, 02:23:12 PM »
Since we've already got a movie and a board game, I was wondering what the odds are on Legends getting an actual reboot. Of course, it'll be played the same way as the original, but I thought it could also include elements from the movie (ex: Ioan Sebastian Tirlui reprising his role as Zuma and hosting with Kirk Fogg). Maybe also in the reboot, the set will look more Mayan.

So, should Legends actually be rebooted? There's a poll above and a link to my petition in my signature (if you vote yes).

The second of the two wins where a team takes two full pendants to the temple shutting out their opponents in the Temple Games (their opponents won no pendants). Blue Barracuda Tabitha Stroshein was even mentioned in a news article.

The last episode with Purple Parrot run produced and aired as well as the last one to feature an artifact in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.

The first win done by the Purple Parrots as well as the only win where a team of Purple Parrots take an original route.
