The Pit / Can someone make some screen grabs?
« on: August 16, 2007, 02:44:03 PM »
I'm looking for a good quality large screen grab from the show, unfortunately having all the episodes taped doesn't mean you know anything about technology   ....

What I'm looking for is a scene which we all know, when the kids are on the steps of knowledge, they usually show Kirk standing from the waist up looking towards the kids, holding the mic, with olmec in the background.

If I could get a few different versions of this especially from seasons 2 or 3 I would really appreciate it. I looked online but didn't see any, I might just be looking in the wrong place though.

The Pit / FINALLY GOT THEM ALL ON TAPE!!!
« on: July 25, 2007, 02:33:26 PM »
I know this is hardly news worthy, but I just thought I would share my excitment in finally completing my goal of obtainging all the Legends episodes on tape. I started taping last summer, back in the days of totally random airings where they would show 20 episodes and start doing repeats, and mix the seaons, etc. I had accquired probably half of the show over that four month period, until I sadly had to return the real world and go back to school where I had no nick GaS  :( , upon returning home this summer I started tapings again and thankfully with the production order finally correcting due to the Nick airings, I was able to finish my conquest, and can as of today thanks to the Silk Sash of Mulan,  say I have all 120 Legends!

...Now if only GaS would show the other 17 episodes of Nick Arcade their holding out on.

The Heart Room / An airing order confirmed/video
« on: July 19, 2007, 09:15:22 AM »
So apparently as per this video, Secret Map of the Bandit Queen shot in December 1994 and aired March 15, 1995. Also if you check out the video (which looks like the studio might have given it to him) it has no graphics on screen and the original ads. Pretty cool!

The Heart Room / Returning champions...
« on: July 19, 2007, 09:00:36 AM »
I would have loved something like this but as you said it would have messed with their production order. Plus it would have been difficult to get both team members back all the time.

On a side note, although I think Zac was really good, I think the temple favored him. Where as Gator (in my opinion) was probably the best temple runner the show ever had. Amanda and Gator are the reason I became a green monkey die hard. I would love to know what the two of them have to say about their time on the show.

The Heart Room / Olmec: MIA?
« on: July 19, 2007, 08:55:12 AM »
well it's kind of a given that it still exists in some capacity. The actual face of Olmec didn't look like a piece that could be dissasembled. As we know many set pieces were given away on Figure it Out. It's also fair to assume at least some of the smaller easily moveable objects were taken home by cast and crew. We know some things lingered around Nick studios in Orlando because just recently those signs from backstage found their way to ebay and the person selling them specifically said they were given to them by someone on the GaS staff, so that means they were there for the entire duration between the show being cancelled and GaS. With Nick studios being gutted out to make way for blue man group though, I guess its anyones guess what happened to the larger less mobile props they probably had in storage. When you think of the numerous programs filmed at that location, they must have had hundreds of large props left over. Perhaps Nick owns a storage facility somewhere in Orlando, because I honestly can't believe that they would completely destroy that stuff. I have a feeling as time progresses these things will reveal themselves via ebay.

Soundstage 18 / Nick Arcade tapers?
« on: July 08, 2007, 07:08:14 PM »
When I first set out to begin taping all of Nick Arcade, I went by wikipedia's info that there where 80 episodes and GaS only aired 65 of them....well long story short after taping all of them in order and not missing any airings I only came up with 63 episodes. The interesting thing is according to a tape trading site I saw, they had 3 episodes listed I don't have and it said they all came from GaS, which means they would have aired 66 episodes in total? Well I've waited through 3 weeks of repeats and they still haven't shown any of the 3 I can't find, and they are showing them in the exact same order they did while I was taping them. So either way somethings not adding up. These are the 3 I can't seem to find:

1991 Dana & Chris     vs. Vanesha & Joshua
1992 April & CJ          vs. Christina & Yennimard
1992 Dee Dee & Mike vs. Melissa & Rich

so my next obvious question is, does anyone here have these episodes or tape the show and have any info on the ones GaS doesn't air? Help is appreciated!!!

Soundstage 18 / Nick Rewind channel?

I'm kind of indifferent, to be honest... There are some good old shows, there are some bad ones. Right now, I'm getting fairly tired of game shows, to be honest, so something new (but old) would be okay.

I will actually move this to the Dark Forest since it doesn't discuss Legends episodes. Thanks for your consideration, though.

no problem

I'm kinda in the same boat you are. Double Dare 2000, finders keepers, get the picture, and to a small extent GUTS aren't really doing it for me anymore. I've just seen them all far too many times. I am however still enjoying Nick Arcade and Legends and don't want to lose the channel as a result of those going with it. I do think this would be good though if they really did it retro and included 90s commercial bumpers, etc. Even though I own most of these for good programings sake I'd say these shows would make it a worthwhile viewing experience:

interchangable game show slot, basically GaS stuff (2 hours a day)
Rocko's modern life
Rugrats (early episodes only)
Doug
Salute Your Shorts
Kenan and Kel
Clarrisa explains it all
Are You Afraid of the Dark?
Ren and Stimpy
My Brother and Me

I'm not so much in to these but I know others are and they could help fill out the network:
Roundhouse
All That
Maybe some old Nick Jr stuff like David the Gnome
Pete and Pete
Welcome Freshmen

I think if it was mainly structured around those shows the network would at least be very enjoyable and frequently tape worthy for the stuff that has yet to be released.

Soundstage 18 / Nick Rewind channel?
« on: June 09, 2007, 01:29:46 PM »
First I should say I think this belongs in this topic as it would greatly effect Legends, but if you feel it should be moved go ahead...

Anyways, I'm a member of a Salute Your Shorts group on myspace (obviously not the most reliable of sources) but they sent out a bulletin hearing of rumors that at the end of the year, GaS would be shutting down in place of a Nick Rewind channel...anyone else heard anything about this. I'm personally not a huge fan of the idea as I already own tons of classic Nick on DVD and am currently trying to tape all of Legends and Nick Arcade so I would at least like to have it on the air till I can complete that. Thoughts? Think there is any truth to this rumor?

Soundstage 18 / Nick Arcade question
« on: May 20, 2007, 10:00:42 AM »
any truth to the rumor that Nick GaS only airs 65 of the 80 episodes?

and yeah the win loss ratio really sucks. I have a feeling it would have been far more difficult than it looks on TV though...they were watching a screen trying to mimick the movements of the objects, it would've taken some really good cordination.

Soundstage 18 / Nick Arcade question
« on: May 20, 2007, 07:40:32 AM »
A long time ago I remember seeing a kind of informal episode guide for Nick Arcade. I was wondering if anyone knows where I could find it again. In addition to my Legends taping I've started to tape NA as well, by writing down the players names, games played, what Phil's wearing, what year its from, etc. That way I can kind of group the episodes together similar to the Legends "layouts" but if anyone had any other resources to help me in my quest that would be appreciated! Especially if anyone knows for sure that there were only 80 episodes produced.

I can make you a VHS copy of Icarus if you have an ep or two to trade me...I don't have anyway to upload though.  :(

first number is the season (1,2, or 3)

the final two numbers is the episode number (01-40)

I got that part but you know the letter I'm talking about? For example on today's ep it says:
338K

Then for tomorrows:
337K

but then for friday:
336J

so obviously they are airing the episodes in reverse order but then they are including a mystery letter at the end...my thought was maybe it represents temple layouts, or filming days, like even though we'll say it may be episode 23 if it has the letter D that might mean it was the 4th day of filming that season, I might be way off but thats my guess. You'll notice the letters are also going in descending order just like the episodes. Anyone know for sure?

do we have any idea what the letter after the episode number indicates? Do you think it represents the temple layout?

Also, do these numbers were getting from Nick represent the airing order or the filming order? (Which I'm sure in most cases is similar)

Hey everyone, don't know if you guys remember me...I've been away at school for the year and fallen very out of the Legends loop, since I don't get Nick GaS at my apartment and have had to rely on my taped collection until now since Nick has started airing again!....Anyways, I have a question I've obviously missed out on. How are you able to determine the episode numbers differently on Nick than on Nick GaS? I haven't watched the past two days since I already had both episodes on tape but judging from the beginings of the episodes I didn't see anything seriously different between the airings, did the credits say something unusual? I'm very interested in knowing how this info was found.

Related question: how can we know which episodes Nick will be airing before they do it. I'm not a fan of getting up at 7:30 only to find it's an episode I already have.

The Heart Room / Taping All 120 Episodes (If You Are Interested, READ)
« on: August 13, 2006, 05:52:26 PM »
I've been taping for the past month or so, and already managed to gather something like half the series, the lousy part is I have to move back to school in 2 weeks and in the process no longer have access to nick gas, which means the next time I can tape anything will be winter break
