The Heart Room / Re: Blackbeard’s Treasure Map being Episode 1
« on: January 22, 2020, 10:35:02 PM »
If the temple run was really taped in S1L1 originally, then it would be a big inconvenience for Katherine and Ron to have to come back another date just to finish their run.

Sean was Katherine’s partner here. Ron should never be welcome near the Temple again.  ;)

So if we put things altogether, should it be considered episode 17 then? There would’ve been 15 episodes aired during the layouts S1L1-S1L4 plus Belshazzar which would be 16 so that would narrow it down to having this be 1 or 17.

If Belshazzar was the episode that took 18 hours to film, it would make sense given the run was postponed to the 5th day. The first day probably was Belshazzar Cup/Galileo/Wild Bill Hickok. My theory is that something happened early on in this run that caused taping to be interrupted (I.e. doors not opening at all from pit or a number of problems that made the run impossible to air in one segment.) We know from Galileo’s Cannonball that the Mineshaft elevator had a problem and they had to restart the run from that point. If something like that happened in Belshazzar but it happened repeatedly, then it probably made Katherine and Sean tired and would’ve been unfair to do a full 3:00 temple run so they postponed it to a later day. Of course that run had its fair share of problems too.

Dead Man’s Hand run also had it’s problems too, one in which being that the Throne room early on was poorly lit and the door to the Swamp didn’t open all the way so Sara and Joshua didn’t glance enough before going up the central shaft which ended up being a dead end. If you listen closely a sound occurs at 18 seconds when Sara steps on the Throne climbing down the ladder suggesting a door opening (Swamp door possibly being more opened or production team alerting Sara the door is open). You may have recalled that the doors from the Swamp to the Tomb of Ancient Kings didn’t open either which forced the team to go up to the Room of Golden Idols but they ran out of time. That passage was only used once that entire season (Mitchell did it from above anyway) and who knows if it would’ve worked.

That day had a lot of problems for it being the first day, but where Blackbeard fits in with these 3 episodes or the ones with layout 5 is not answered completely with comparing episodes.

The Heart Room / Blackbeard’s Treasure Map being Episode 1
« on: January 20, 2020, 01:39:50 PM »
This has been puzzling me for years and I want to know what the others think about this. I still don’t know why Blackbeard’s Treasure Map is supposed to be Episode 1 of the show. There are many things that support and also many things that contradict this statement. We obviously know that Lawrence of Arabia’s Headdress was the first aired episode, but it was one of the last episodes taped in Season 1 so it is technically not episode 1 in terms production. The editing of the episode altogether is pretty bad and there was a lot of confusion by Sabrina in the Temple (still one of the worst to go in due to being slow and pretty much waving the white flag early). Also there were no full credits here. That part might suggest it’s the first episode. The part of me suggesting that it wasn’t the first is because it appeared to be filmed on the same day as all other S1L5 runs were on (Ponce de Leon, Jean Lafitte, Delphi, & Leonardo Da Vinci) and had the same moat as those episodes (tubes). Meanwhile, the moat for Belshazzar, Galileo, and Wild Bill Hickok were different (rafts). The run for Galileo’s Cannonball was probably the first run ever to be completed since Kirk didn’t sound as energetic as he would be later on, and asking about the strategy Jennifer and Jammin Jon were going to use (he doesn’t do that in any other episode that I can think off). Now Belshazzar’s run was postponed to the S1L5 day for some reason which was the same layout Blackbeard had. So that possible lists 3 candidates for real episode 1: Blackbeard, Belshazzar, and Galileo.

What do you think?

The Chiefs are heading to their first Super Bowl in 50 years (  ) after defeating the Titans. Pretty much made Derrick Henry useless today and Patrick Mahomes played lights out. Great for Kansas City who after half a century get to see their team in the Super Bowl again (Chiefs defeated Vikings in Super Bowl IV)

Unfortunately, my Packers got destroyed by the 49ers and fell one game short of the Super Bowl again. San Francisco last year was one of the worst teams and this year they are one game away from being champions again. What an incredible turnaround for that franchise.

49ers vs Chiefs will be your Super Bowl in 2 weeks

PACKERS WIN!!!! :mryellow:  :mryellow:  :mryellow:  :mryellow:

What an incredible turnaround season this has been for both the Packers and the 49ers. Hard to believe that one of them will be in the Super Bowl! Alongside those two the Titans also didn’t make the playoffs last year and they are also one win away from the Super Bowl.

Oh boy was I getting nervous I thought it was going to be like 2014 when Wilson kept driving down, but Rodgers pulled his magic again and 1uped Wilson today and we are now off to San Francisco. Won’t be easy they crushed us earlier this year.

So here are the possible matchups

Chiefs vs 49ers (most likely outcome, connection of Joe Montana who played for both teams but mostly dominated with the Niners).
Titans vs 49ers (these two teams beat their fellow counterparts earlier this year so this outcome could happen)
Chiefs vs Packers (probably the most star studded option with Aaron Rodgers & Patrick Mahomes. Not to mention it’d be a rematch of a game earlier this year that the Packers won and more importantly a rematch of the very first Super Bowl also which the Packers won)
Titans vs Packers (Packers rookie coach Matt LaFluer goes up against his former team (he was previously the Titans offensive coordinator)

Another choke by the Texans in the Divisional round.   I’ve seen teams collapse from 24 pt leads or similar (Chiefs did a 28 pt one a few years ago), but to blow it by halftime is something else. Kansas City is on fire and the way they ended the game on a 51-7 run they are likely to steamroll the Titans next week.

And the Titans pull off the upset! I'm not even upset though. This loss was mostly on the coach for going for it twice on fourth down, which lead to 2 of the Titans touchdowns. It will suck hearing other teams making fun of the Ravens for this loss, but hopefully this is a hard lesson learned.  :afro:

Titans are now in the Championship game! Who would've thought they would be in the AFCCG earlier in the season?? Especially when they were 3-4 with a shutout loss to Denver earlier in the season! They made a bold move switching to Tannehill at QB and it paid off for them. I definitely think they have a chance to win in the AFCCG. They already beat the Chiefs in KC before and the Texans aren't that great of a team.

The Super Bowl will definitely be interesting this year.

That game was actually in Tennessee when the Titans beat the Chiefs. And they did split with the Texans road and road.

The Tennessee Titans?!       I have no words. The Ravens looked like the Bengals today with all their turnovers and failed 4th down attempts. I feel for you TRJ after all that just happened. You may recall my Packers were 15-1 a few years ago and fell flat to the Giants who were 9-7 that year. That Giants team ended up winning the Super Bowl. Not saying the Titans are going to do that yet especially since my Packers are still alive up until at least tomorrow. Even if we beat the Seahawks we will get destroyed by the 49ers like earlier in the year.

I can’t believe the Vikings beat the Saints in New Orleans. Saints might be the most snakebit team last ten years, and that includes the Browns and Bucs. Think about it, two Beast Mode runs, the Catch III, Minneapolis Miracle, the bullshit DPI no call, and this which was a combination of the last two since Kyle Rudolph pushed off on a defender and they didn’t review for OPI. As you recall, last week’s SF-SEA game had a similar ending where DPI could’ve been called but never did and Seattle fell 3 inches short which would’ve gave New Orleans a bye. Instead their season is toast.

Seahawks were able to get by the Eagles, made things a lot easier with Wentz hurt with a concussion. However they only won by eight so it wasn’t a runaway after. Gonna be really interesting next week when they go to Green Bay. Considering that Wilson and Rodgers are the only QBs left of the 8 that started and won a Super Bowl this should be interesting (Jimmy G was a backup on the Patriots for Super Bowl XLIX & LI so although he technically won two Super Bowls, he didn’t play in them.)

Also this is only the second time in the last 19 years that the AFC Championship will not have either Tom Brady, Peyton Manning, or Ben Roethlisberger (2002 Rich Gannon & Steve McNair) and this year we will have Lamar Jackson/Ryan Tannehill and Patrick Mahomes/Deshaun Watson.

Divisional round

Vikings vs 49ers
Titans vs Ravens
Texans vs Chiefs
Seahawks vs Packers
