The Pit / Puzzle Hunt - 2012
« on: November 21, 2012, 12:37:24 AM »
Hey guys.

Last spring, I was the engineer of a puzzle hunt, which is a contest where teams work together to solve individual puzzles, where the answers work together to form larger answers, etc.

One of the puzzles I created was titled "Get the Pepperoni", and was all about Legends.

Here is the link to the puzzle. If you want to see a full explanation of that puzzle, click on the 'ANSWER' link at the bottom of the page.

Hope you enjoy!

The Heart Room / Was it the best temple plan?
« on: July 30, 2011, 09:08:50 AM »
LOTHT ran for 120 episodes. The rooms changed, but the architecture never did.

You always had 2 rooms at the beginning, not really mattering which you take, because you end at the Pit. Then you had a 4x2 block, with the rightmost column with a top 3, that simply allowed you to bypass the middle room.

There has been much debate over temple runs, with phrases like "linear" and "only choice".

My question is, was this the best blueprint for the temple?

Would you put the pit out front? Would you make it a true block, with 4x2 or 4x3? Would you put a second moat? Who knows?

Obviously, blasphemy to the temple is unsaid, but have you ever thought about a better design for Olmec's temple?

« on: June 20, 2011, 04:33:43 PM »
Posted on another part of the message boards.

http://phantomstemple.us.to/index.php?topic=2217.0

I hope by putting it in this category, someone will be able to notice it (cause to be honest, this is the only category anyone looks at anymore haha)

Email him if you have anything. I would love to see (probably the first) Legends interview ever on camera.

The Pit / Possible Future Interview
« on: June 25, 2010, 05:54:42 AM »
While browsing Youtube, I discovered the Youtube channel for the person who says he is Joel (yes that Joel).

He has been involved with the Temple Run video for his show, and seems legit.

Would anyone want to investigate further, and possibly conduct an interview?

The Pit / Olmec Survived The Move
« on: January 26, 2010, 01:01:26 PM »
A couple of years ago, Kirk Fogg was in a College Humor video 'Olmec: Sex Therapist' where a replica of Olmec was created for the video.

After the video was made, the stone head was placed in the lobby of the office floor, and can be seen in the background of a good many videos.

After having to move from one office building to another in the last couple of months, it is apparent that College Humor saved Olmec and now Olmec is standing against the wall of the new office floor. It can be seen on 'Jake and Amir: New Office'.

Once again, Olmec lives on.

The Pit / New Sporcle Legends Quiz
« on: September 22, 2009, 02:39:05 PM »
OK, so what you can name the Purple Parrot's wins? Or the sequence of events on the show? Or Kirk's attire from each season?

But could you name the 45 rooms that made up Olmec's temple?

Hope everyone has fun with this!

Just found this awesome website.

This website has a VERY extensive list of TV theme songs. So far, it has passed by personal test to see if some retro Nick is there, and IT IS.

Cool website. Check it out.

The Treasure Room / Legends house
« on: May 18, 2009, 04:28:33 PM »
Congrats on college and getting hitched, now you and your spouse have settle down in order to get a house.

You've always wanted to build your own house, and the architect has plenty of models you can pick from. After looking through some blueprints, you come across a model named "93-95 2-story Nick house".

And a note from a previous buyer.

"Great design. The one I built had guests all the time, but it was able to contain them all. Doors are sort of odd, but I don't complain. And don't leave objects laying around, house guests are known for stealing..."
~O.

So now, you want to build according to this model. (BTW, the house is the temple). You need to design so the house is actually a house (with bedrooms, bathrooms, dens, etc.) and can serve as a place to live.

Your task is to come up with a plausible house. I can't to see some of the ideas!

The Heart Room / King's Storeroom - Finishing touches
« on: May 03, 2009, 12:45:21 PM »
Now that we have every single episode at our disposal, we have some more work to do.

While many of the episodes on TKS are complete, some of the individual rounds are missing information (what was the legend about, what the temple games were, what the tiebreaker question was, etc.).

If people would volunteer to watch the episodes and gather more information about the incomplete episodes, every episode may be completed.

Also, we need to have more unusual statistics. Something I would like is what Olmec says at the beginning of each episode (e.g. "Let's rock.") and the advertisements. I have already taken the liberty of doing two.

1x08 "John Sutter and the Map to the Lost Gold Mine"
M - Quik Chocolate milk
SOK - Star Wars "Battle of the Galaxy" books
TG - BK RatchTech shoes
Temple1- Magnavox CD player
Temple2- Outdoor Products camping gear
Temple3- US Space Camp in Florida or Alabama

1x09 "The Star of Sultan Saladin"
M - Laffy Taffy
SOK - Duncan yo-yo
TG - Mighty Ducks movie
Temple1 - Nikko remote-control airplane
Temple2 - Compton's Interactive Encyclopedia for Windows
Temple3 - Cayman Islands

Beside what we already have here, we could add more! A graphic of the "ancient marking", a LOTHT countdown timer, more of the music including the victory music, and more.

Seems like a lot, but we have a bunch of fans here, right?

Note: I edited the two episode production numbers to the correct order.

The Dark Forest / Has Legends ever helped you in school?
« on: March 28, 2008, 04:04:08 AM »
Was there ever in time during school, where you remembered Legends, and you got an answer right?

Thanks to Legends, I remember the names of John Henry and Mary Shelley during a county Academic Brain Challenge.

Hopefully, this should be a really interesting topic.

The Treasure Room / Was the artifact real?
« on: March 28, 2008, 04:01:23 AM »
There were 120 artifacts, but some were fiction, and some were real.

The point of this topic is to research which artifacts were real, and which weren't.

Put some research, a link, and your final word.

Mythical: Relating to myths, like the broken wing or trident.

Plausible: If you see the event the legend talks about, but don't actually see the artifact.

Brainchild: Real person, made up artifact

Documented: The artifact is real, and there are pictures and words to go with it.

I've been meaning to do this for a while, and I hope it teaches us something about Legends we didn't know .
