The Dark Forest / Summer Vacation Plans
« on: June 02, 2007, 06:20:35 AM »
Anyone doing anything exciting for summer? I'm graduating from high school tomorrow night, so I'm going to spend the summer preparing for college. I also plan to stick around here and maybe hang out with some friends. Oh yeah, I've also got a job I'll be working at all summer. And I might go visit my cousin in New Jersey for the Fourth of July.

The Dark Forest / Happy Valentine's Day!
« on: February 14, 2007, 03:12:38 PM »
There wasn't a topic about it, so I decided to start one. Did anyone do anything special for today? I sent a flower to someone who means a lot to me, but it turns out she was sick today! Hopefully she'll get it tomorrow. A couple people at my school received singing valentines from one of the choirs, including two people from my homeroom.

The Dark Forest / America's Most Wanted
« on: November 18, 2006, 11:27:25 AM »
Anybody here an America's Most Wanted fan? I am. I've been watching the show for nearly five years, and in that time, I've only missed one episode. I think it's amazing how they've captured 911 fugitives and recovered 51 missing persons to date. Who knew that a TV show and web site could get this much done? So, is anybody else a fan?

The Heart Room / Expecting Too Much
« on: August 21, 2006, 08:59:07 AM »
Was there ever an episode of Legends of the Hidden Temple that you thought would be such an awesome show, and it turned out to be one of the worst the shows ever aired?

There's definitely a few in season three. The Mystical Spellbook of the Imperial Wizard is one that comes to mind. It sounded like such an interesting Legend, and possibly a great episode. What followed was the most racist Legend ever told on the show, and a layout that, if it hadn't been so hard, the team could very well have made it.

What other Legends did you have high expectations for and they turned out to be disasters?

The Heart Room / The Best and Worst Temple Prizes
« on: August 18, 2006, 09:33:23 AM »
What do you think were the best and worst prizes given away to teams who made it to the Temple? I can think of a few.

The best, for me, was the trampoline people got just for getting into the temple. All you have to do is know how to walk up a few stairs, and you'll get a trampoline. My cousins used to have one, and I've always wanted to get one. When I saw that prize, I was so angry the show had been cancelled. Usually, the teams got something lame like a remote-controlled car, but this topped every single "For Just Getting into the Temple" prize.

The worst prize was also one you got for just entering the temple. It was an acquarium. You know, not everybody wants to buy fish. I personally have had a bad experience with a fish. My sister brought home a fish from her summer school last year, and it died a day later. Although if you didn't want it, you could just use it as a trophy case (assuming you have one) or a water cooler.

The Dark Forest / Figure It Out
« on: August 10, 2006, 03:02:42 PM »
I don't know if this is the right place to put this, but I didn't know where else it would go.

Who here is a fan of Figure it Out? I'm only a fan of the first season episodes, when they were giving away props from the classic Nick shows. I know that it was a sad time, but at the same time it was interesting seeing what they gave away (what I would do for a Temple Guard mask). After the first season, the show slowly started to deteriorate in quality. Figure it Out: Family Style felt like a complete waste of time to me. It was also this time when I slowly began to realize that many of these "talents" were things that almost any other kid could do. By the time Wild Style came along, I had stopped watching it. How did you feel about Figure it Out?

The Heart Room / The Cheesiest Legend Story
« on: July 18, 2006, 09:44:12 AM »
What do you think are the cheesiest Legends stories that Olmec has told? For me, the cheesiest has to be Galileo's Cannonball, especially the part at the end where Olmec says Galileo invented pizza by dropping his cannonballs on two cheese and pepperoni sandwiches. Even Kirk thought that was dumb.

Another one that comes to mind is The Red Sash of Tokugawa Ieyasu. When someone (I can't remember who) is being punished by Tokugawa Ieyasu, he asks what the punishment is. The person being punished replies, "I'm grounded for three weeks with no TV?"

What do you think are the dumbest stories?
