The Temple Games / Legends Treasure Hunt Game: Round 1
« on: June 22, 2020, 08:37:40 PM »
Welcome to round 1 of the Legends treasure hunt game! This is like a memory game. First, pick a team and then pick a coordinate.

What's hidden under each coordinate:
  • Sixty artifacts (ten for each team)
  • Twelve temple guards
  • Twelve Pendants of Life
  • Twelve half pendants
  • Eight extra turns

If you find one of the wrong artifacts or find a temple guard, you lose a turn. Three temple guards and you're out. Three wrong artifacts won't get you out. If you find a pendant of life (or two halves), you can go on after you find three temple guards. Three more temple guards and you're out if you have less than a full pendant.

Round 1: The Moat
Just reply which team you’ll be on and you bang on your gong.

Round 2: The Steps of Knowledge
If you’re a hardcore Legends fan, you should know what to do. Just like in the game show, a team needs to correctly answer three questions to move down to the bottom step. Once you ring in, you need to give your response in your reply.

Round 3: The Temple Games
Before we start, you need to you and your opposite-gender teammate (real or imaginary) need to tell Kirk Fogg or Zuma your names (first and last), your current ages and a bit about yourselves. Yes, the Pendants of Life will be awarded half-half-whole. Also, if we have to use the tiebreaker, you need to give your response in your reply.

Round 4 or 5: The Temple Run
Draw a temple diagram (same as that from the original Legends of the Hidden Temple) and your route to the artifact. If you run through whichever room has the other half of the second player’s pendant, the half pendant is automatically grabbed. As we should know, all of the doors unlock and the temple guards vanish once the artifact is grabbed. I’ll reply with the results.

The Treasure Room / Legends of the Hidden Temple BuzzFeed Quiz
« on: April 24, 2020, 09:55:10 PM »
I made a BuzzFeed personality quiz shortly ago to determine which Legends of the Hidden Temple team is right for each of you.

5
I just started another LOTHT petition (for a sequel to the movie).

6
Hey, in case you guys haven't seen, I've also got a petition on Change.org for the 1995 Blue's Clues test pilot, "Blue Prints" to bee seen on YouTube or Amazon Video. I really wish I could see that unaired test pilot in full. Could it be in archives?

Episode 121: The Hypnotic Flute of the Pied Piper

(Camera moves through a thick jungle with animals popping out from either side and finally reveals King Olmec)

Olmec: Legends of the Hidden Temple!

(Title card forms)

Olmec: With your guide (and my good son), Zuma!

(Title card glows gold and fades)

Olmec: And here he is now with our original guide, Kirk Fogg!

(Kirk and Zuma swing on ropes into the outdoor theater where this reboot is set)

Kirk: Alright! Thank you! Thank you very much! Thank you, Olmec!

Zuma: Thank you, father!

Kirk: Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple! I’m OG guide Kirk Fogg.

Zuma: And I am King Olmec’s good son, Zuma.

Kirk: The rooms in the temple are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards. Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple.

Zuma: Which one will we hear about today, father?

Olmec: The legend of the hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper.

Kirk: Oh, the legend of the hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper. Well the legend is set and one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the flute.

(CGI transitions of the team animals are shown when each team is called and each team name appears in front of the contestants when Kirk or Zuma do the roll call)

Kirk: Will it be the Red Jaguars?
Zuma: Do you think it will be the Blue Barracudas?
Kirk: Or how about the Green Monkeys?
Zuma: Could it be the Orange Iguanas?
Kirk: Maybe the Purple Parrots?
Zuma: Or will it be the Silver Snakes?

Zuma: They will have to pass some very tough physical and mental tests, and in the end, only one team will earn the right to run through my father’s temple.

Kirk: But first, they must cross the moat, and Olmec will tell them how they’ll do it today.

Olmec: Before each of you is a log raft with an ancient rope above it. When Kirk gives the signal, stand on the raft while pulling yourself to the other side. Once you are across, your partner will pull back the raft and do the same. When the second player is safely across, run over and hit the gong.

(Kirk and Zuma hit the Red Jaguars’ and Silver Snakes’ gongs)

Olmec: The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round!

Zuma: Are you ready, teams?

(Teams shout “Yesss!”)

Zuma: You can say it better. Are you ready, teams?

(Teams shout “YESSS!”)

Kirk: And are you ready, Olmec?

Olmec: Let’s rock!

Kirk: On your marks, get set, go!

1. Silver Snakes
2. Orange Iguanas
3. Blue Barracudas
4. Red Jaguars

Kirk: We got our four teams right here! They are…

Kirk: …the Red Jaguars,
Zuma: …the Blue Barracudas,
Kirk: …the Orange Iguanas,
Zuma: …and the Silver Snakes!

Kirk: Green Monkeys and Purple Parrots, no one on Legends leaves empty-handed. We have a great consolation prize for both of you and here’s what it is.

(Zuma opens a chest with the first consolation prize plus $1,000 USD)

Kirk: As the quest continues, it’s now time for Olmec to tell us about Galileo’s cannonball. Pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the legend will bring you one step closer to Olmec's temple.

Olmec: In 1284, the town of Hamelin was suffering a terrible rat infestation. Nearly everyone was overrun with the vermin. Legend has it that one day, a man wearing pied clothing and a flute came along with a solution.

Piper: Listen Mayor, just leave it to me! I can use my special flute to get rid of every rat in this town!

Mayor: Ha! I'll believe it when I see it, but if you're not pulling my leg, I'll make sure you get paid in full.

Olmec: Outside, the piper went straight to work, blaring a haunting melody on his flute. All the rats were immediately entranced and fled straight to him. He then led the rats into the Weser River, where they drowned. But after this, the Mayor withdrew his promise and the piper left with nothing. The next day, he played his flute again, this time luring away all the children. This caused the citizens to pay him several times the original price. His flute years later was discarded after his retirement, and made its way to the temple. Your quest is to find the flute, and bring it back here.

Zuma: Thank you, father. So please tell us, where is the flute?

Olmec: The hypnotic flute of the Pied Piper can be found in the Throne Room.

Kirk: Teams, you're now standing on the Steps of Knowledge. In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question. If you think you know the answer, stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you. If you're right, you'll move down to the next level. But if you're wrong or run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance to answer. The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's temple. Olmec, we're now ready for your first question.

Olmec: In what year did the town of Hamelin suffer an infestation?

(Female Silver Snake rings in)

Zuma: Silver Snakes

Female Silver Snake: 1284.

Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Nice job!

(Silver Snakes move down a step)

Kirk: Next question, Olmec.

Olmec: The town of Hamelin is located in what country? Germany, Austria or Italy?

(Male Silver Snake rings in)

Zuma: Silver Snakes

Male Silver Snake: Germany.

Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: There you go! Step down, Silver Snakes!

(Silver Snakes move down a step)

Kirk: One more correct response and you go to the temple games. Next question.

Olmec: Hamelin was infested with what vermin?

(Female Blue Barracuda rings in)

Zuma: Blue Barracudas

Female Blue Barracuda: Rats.

Olmec: That is correct.

Kirk: Now you’re on the board, Blue Barracudas!

(Blue Barracudas move down a step)

Kirk: Next question, Olmec.

Olmec: Was the Pied Piper’s profession…a rat catcher, an entertainer or an ice cream vendor?

(Male Silver Snake rings in)

Zuma: Silver Snakes

Male Silver Snake: A rat catcher.

Olmec: That is correct!

(Excited Silver Snakes move down to the bottom step)

Kirk: We got our first team that’s going to the temple games! It’s the Silver Snakes! Now we need another team. Who will it be? Olmec, next question, please.

Olmec: Which river did the rats drown in?

(Male Red Jaguar rings in)

Zuma: Red Jaguars

Male Red Jaguar: The Weser River.

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: Come on down, Red Jaguars!

(Red Jaguars move down a step)

Kirk: It’s no wonder you all have a great memory. Next question, Olmec.

Olmec: When the Pied Piper returned to Hamelin, did the mayor…arrest him for witchcraft, pay him or full or not pay him at all?

(Female Red Jaguar rings in)

Zuma: Red Jaguars

Female Red Jaguar: He didn’t pay him at all.

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: You got it again! Step on down!

(Red Jaguars move down a step)

Kirk: Red Jaguars, one more correct response and you’ll join the Silver Snakes. Olmec, next question, please.

Olmec: The day after he lured away the rats, did the Pied Piper lure away the town’s?

(Female Blue Barracuda rings in)

Zuma: Blue Barracudas

Female Blue Barracuda: He lured away the town’s children.

Olmec: That is correct!

Kirk: Step on down, Blue Barracudas!

(Blue Barracudas move down a step)

Kirk: Who’ll join the Silver Snakes? Next question, Olmec.

Olmec: Which of these is the German word for "Children"? Erwachsene, Jugendliche or Kinder?

(Female Red Jaguar rings in)

Zuma: Red Jaguars

Female Red Jaguar: Kinder.

Olmec: That is correct!

(Excited Red Jaguars move down to the bottom step and celebrate with the Silver Snakes)

Kirk: We’ve got our two teams that are going head-to-head in the temple games! They are…

Kirk: …the Red Jaguars
Zuma: …and the Silver Snakes!

Kirk: Blue Barracudas, Orange Iguanas, come on down here. You should know by now that you four are not leaving empty-handed. Zuma, please show these two teams their consolation prize.

(Zuma opens a chest with the second consolation prize plus $2,000 USD)

Kirk: These two teams will play for the right to enter Olmec’s Temple!

Zuma: And they will do it right after this!

(Pendant forms and “Legends of the Hidden Temple” comes out from behind it to conclude Part A)

The Pit / To celebrate the upcoming Legends of the Hidden Temple reboot…
« on: February 22, 2020, 08:17:52 PM »
…I was thinking about hosting a rally in my hometown some weekend this March. In order to make that happen, I should recruit friends and family so they can help me get everything set up. If you're reading this and you signed my petition before its victory, you should probably do the same.

The Temple Games / Mikey's Clues Challenge: Round 1
« on: February 05, 2020, 09:33:52 AM »
This past December I had ideas for a Legends-themed Blue's Clues parody called "Mikey's Clues", with Mikey the Green Monkey from the LOTHT movie leaving three green handprints in each episode. I'll generate a question and you have to guess the answer one clue at a time. The episodes that are being (or already have been) remade so far for "Blue's Clues and You!" will be omitted along with the episodes of Steve Burns's goodbye trilogy.

Scoring
Correct guess from first clue: 50
Correct guess from second clue: 20
Correct guess from all three clues: 10

The Dark Forest / Social Rules I've Had to Deal With
« on: January 10, 2020, 02:46:11 AM »
Many people in my home state have seen hugging as socially inappropriate. What's definitely more socially inappropriate is not being thin. I've got a five-point scale on thinness.

General Five-Point Scale
5: Friendships come to an end, special opportunities are lost, you can get banned from a club or fired from your job.
4: Keeping friendships gets much harder, others are not feeling good about you and there are some negative consequences.
3: Others have weird thoughts and feel a bit uncomfortable around you.
2: There are not too many problems, everything is still good.
1: Everyone is happy to be with you.

BMI Five-Point Scale
5: BMI 30+
4: BMI 27-30
3: BMI 25-27
2: BMI 22-25
1: BMI <22

Weight for my height (5'8") Five-Point Scale:
5: 198 or greater
4: 178-197
3: 165-177
2: 145-164
1: 144 or less
