Title: Rate the Legends Win - Day 32: Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on June 23, 2014, 11:36:13 PM
****CREDIT GOES TO THE RED JAGUARS/STONE MARKER FOR THE IDEA****

So over a year ago, we had a topic (http://phantomstemple.us.to/index.php?topic=2568.0) rating all the Legends wins, much like we are doing with the Legends Rooms thread. So just like the other polls, vote for how much you like a win on a scale of 1-10. I thought this would be another interesting topic/poll to rehash, especially since opinions change in over a year. And hopefully this will get enough votes and be popular enough. ;)

So let's restart this thread, shall we? ;) We will start with "The Jeweled Scabbard of Sforza."

I gave this win a 7. I really like this win, I find it very underrated. Yes Lacey and Asher's layout was simple, but it was still a very exciting run and it was great to see them win. I also loved both Lacey and Asher's enthusiasm when they won. Especially Lacey chopping her feet in excitement after Asher crosses the temple gates. Plus, being forced up the central shaft in a Season 3 temple is no easy feat. It was a very charitable win with it being the final filming day, but I like this win and I think Lacey and Asher deserved to win. ;)

I have this win a 6. Not because I don't like this win but just because comparatively, it doesn't compare to some of the iconic wins that deserve 8, 9, and 10 rankings. Solid win, fairly easy and winnable layout, but overall pretty good.

I gave the Sforza win a 6. In the first topic, I gave it a 4 which is way too low. But I am giving it some more credit this time around. ;) As for the run itself, it was a decent win and the temple layout is not as easy as people make it out to be. The central shaft was very time consuming for Season 3 and Lacey and Asher handled it well. I enjoy this win, but I don't really think highly of it either. It was way too obvious that the layout was favorable for Lacey and Asher. But I liked their enthusiasm though. Good win, but it is not as strong  as most other Season 3 wins.

Actually you gave it a 5 the first time around. ;)

But yeah, this layout really wasn't as easy as it's made out to be. Short path yes, but not easy by any means. Like I said before, traversing up the central shaft in Season 3 is never an easy feat, even if you are Jessica and Jarrid. :o

No easy feat for sure, but if you're fast and know what you're doing, it should take you no more than 20 seconds per room including climbing the ladders. Although, the Tomb of the Headless Kings was often an annoyingly long room to complete.

I don't really mind this win at all. I know it is overrated to some people, but this win never really bothered me that much. Maybe once in a while if it gets too much love, I might call it overrated. But I have no problem with Sforza. Same with Enormous Iron Nose Ring and Joel. I honestly don't mind the win at all until people excessively love it.

Yeah, same here. And I DID just say in my reasoning that I DO like this win and call it underrated. ;) I much prefer it over wins like Tall Turban, Silver Horseshoe, etc. AKA runs that get WAY too much love for no reason at all.

I don't know, I don't think anyone is gonna vote in these polls. I don't think this thread is gonna be popular at all. Should I still update it if it doesn't get enough votes? I'm already having second thoughts. =/

Well, what I meant is, what if I started this thread too soon and it doesn't really catch on, at all? But, this IS a new thread after all, so obviously it's gonna take some time. I'll see how things go by next update. ;)

I say give it a few days and see how popular it is. If you are not happy with the number of votes, then you can decide whether to keep it open or not. ;) And most of these threads are averaging 5 votes, so they are getting some decent attention right now. Perhaps in the next week or two we will get a new member or an old member that might start voting again. I remember last summer we had THK return for voting and then new members like Neko and LoL voting. PP4L and Viper haven't been on for a few days, so maybe they will join in?  ;)

Maybe we will get some different members voting in the polls. I don't know about PP4L or Viper, but we should get at least 5 votes in this thread. That's the average amount for me, and that's how many votes the rooms thread has been getting lately. Either way, I am glad to have rehashed this thread. And with only 32 wins, it shouldn't take long at all. ;)

I gave this win an 8. :mrorange: This was by far my favorite Orange Iguanas victory and episode. Elizabeth and Jason were a solid team, and their temple run was very exciting. Their layout may have been a little simplistic, but it didn't matter. Plus, you gotta love Jason's utilizing of the Pit rope with the dog leash. This was the only Orange Iguanas team victory, and boy did Elizabeth and Jason earn it. :mrorange:

I gave Levitating Dog Leash an 8. This was a great team victory and probably the best Orange Iguanas episode too. The layout might've been simple, but this run was very fun to watch. Both Elizabeth and Jason were strong players and they did everything right in the temple. Plus, Jason was clever to use the Dog Leash in the Pit to grab the rope (Despite what outer space might think). Even though I like Atocha a little better, this was still a great run. :mrorange:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 2: The Levitating Dog Leash of Nostradamus
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on June 24, 2014, 11:51:25 PM
Yeah, because any idiot can use the leash to lure to the Pit rope to them, right? Oh yeah, and Elizabeth took the direct path, so that means she's a bad player. In all seriousness though, I like Nostradamus a little more than Atocha. But both of those runs were fun to watch. :mrorange:

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 3: The Belly Button of Buddha
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on June 25, 2014, 11:40:30 PM
I gave this run a 6. This may be a little too high, but it was just an average win to me. But it's so hard to watch because Jennifer looked just downright clueless at times. She basically walked through every room, and got lost in the Treasure Room of all places. And this run is certainly NOT comparable to Freydis in any way, even though the layouts are completely identical. Jennifer did a decent job, and the win was earned, but she's not the amazing all star player she's made out to be. Give me Freydis and Lucky Pillow anyday.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 3: The Belly Button of Buddha
Post by: The Red Jaguars on June 25, 2014, 11:42:38 PM
I gave Buddha a 6. Jennifer gets a little too much credit for a win where she basically walked through the whole temple. She wasn't a bad contestant, but she also isn't the best female contestant on the show either. It was kind of hard to watch this run at times because she took too much time in some rooms like the Bamboo Forest and the Treasure Room. -_- But she still got the job done and didn't really get lost that much. It was better than some of the wins in Season 1, but it lacks any excitement though.  :?
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 3: The Belly Button of Buddha
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on June 25, 2014, 11:46:04 PM
Yeah, Jennifer is very overrated for sure. She was just way too slow and clueless, and the excitement factor.... ZERO. The only time she was fast at all, is when she finally reached the artifact. I don't even think she would win if she actually DID have Freydis' layout.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 3: The Belly Button of Buddha
Post by: The Red Jaguars on June 25, 2014, 11:49:00 PM
I still want to know how people though she was the best female player on the show? I know this was from a long time ago, but even then I still wasn't impressed by Jennifer. :? She wasn't even the best girl from Season 1. Lea, Jennifer (Lost Gold Mine), Tara, and Colleen were more impressive girls than her. I mean Lea had a very similar layout to Jennifer from Buddha, but she actually moved fast and didn't get lost once. I guess she took a direct path, which is why Jennifer is better than her.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 3: The Belly Button of Buddha
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on June 25, 2014, 11:53:36 PM
And my favorite: Jennifer was the smartest contestant of Season 1 because she "never took a direct path." But Missy is a terrible player for "trying the door leading to Medusa's Lair." The question is, who had the better plan? And Tarrah is a bad player just because everyone hates Jennifer. So let's go ahead and bring other better players down, just to make Jennifer look good.

I gave this run a 9. This is by far my favorite Silver Snake run on the entire show. :mrsilver: Yes Miriam hesitated, and yes this team would've lost if it wasn't for Zac. But other than that, this win was nothing short of awesome! Once Miriam was (thankfully) removed from the temple, Zac REALLY hauled ass to grab the map and escape. I swear, Zac was moving so fast it had to be a record. :o This was one of the best wins on the whole show, and Zac is by far one of my favorite contestants ever! I love this win, it totally deserves all the love that it gets. :mrsilver:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 4: The Secret Map of the Bandit Queen
Post by: The Red Jaguars on June 27, 2014, 11:45:45 PM
Bandit Queen is a great win, but I am going to give it a 7. Miriam really brings this run down a lot unfortunately. She wasted too much time acting like Karisa by backtracking between the Dark Forest. I am surprised Zac wasn't shouting at her like Jay. :? Luckily, Zac saved this run from being another Snow Cone run by running at an amazing speed! It was very fun to watch him blaze through the temple and then have an amazing exit. Honestly, if more contestants moved like Zac did, then even layouts like Discarded Seal might be winnable. The reason I didn't rate it higher was because of Miriam. It is one thing to be moving average like Amanda or Candace in their wins. But you should not be screwing around in the short time in the temple. But still, this is the Silver Snakes best win and Zac was the highlight of this episode. :mrsilver:

I'm thinking of changing my vote to an 8. Maybe 9 was a little too high, but the only "point" I took of was Miriam's hesitations.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 4: The Secret Map of the Bandit Queen

This is the one win I wouldn't expect to get a 10 from anyone. :o Not that I should be surprised because Bandit Queen is loved around here. (for good reasons of course!). I would definitely give Zac a 10 in the temple for his performance also.  :mrsilver: I would've gave this run a 9 if Miriam wasn't close to blowing her load.

Maybe I should've kept it a 9. Since this was a GREAT win, and one of my first episodes. So it's really nostalgic for me.

I changed my vote for Bandit Queen for an 8 myself. Looking at these upcoming wins, this one is easily better than most of them. It totally deserves to rank high. Tomorrow is going to be interesting with Iron Nose Ring too.

I gave this win an 8. I know this is a little too high, but I really like this win. It's not my favorite by any means, but Joel was very fast and for the most part, got the job handily. I would've ranked this run a little higher, but Joel's slow assembly of the monkey and his poor exit plan is what dragged it down for me. He probably would've shattered Shaka Zulu's time if it wasn't for his exit plan. :o Joel is a little overhyped, but not as bad as some other contestants. Either way, I still like this win, and I thought Joel and Dorthy deserved to win. ;)
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 5: The Enormous Iron Nose Ring of Babe the Ox

I gave Nose Ring an 8 too. This win doesn't bother me as much as some of the wins that are overpraised on the show. Joel might've pulled a Ron and he might've took a little extra time with the Silver Monkey, but he also did many things right too. He cleverly dodged a temple guard, used a shortcut, and he was super fast too. Unlike Shane from Ahmed Baba, Joel would dominate every layout. And I actually like Joel too. Unlike most contestants, no one ever sticks up for him when he gets criticized. Yet people always do the same thing for Shane and Mitchell. He was a fun contestant to watch and I loved this win.  :mrsilver:

Yes, exactly what I was thinking! Joel has been criticized WAY worse in the past, yet no one ever defends them. Yet Shane and Mitchell are treated as "delicate little snowflakes" for lucking into their layout. As flawed as Joel was, he was still a very fun (and fast contestant), and it was a joy to see him win. And you're right, he definitely would've dominated any other layout, mistakes or not. ;) :mrsilver:

I like this win way more than Ahmed Baba and it is not even close. Actually, this episode is in my top 20 all time list. It was very fun and Joel and Dorothy's enthusiasm and Kirk's enthusiasm was off the radar in this episode. And yeah, Joel would've beaten Shaka Zulu's time if he actually didn't have trouble with the Silver Monkey and didn't pull a Ron. And I would have much more respect for this win than Bobby's win.

And speaking of Shaka Zulu, I can't wait to rank it tomorrow. Although we should just skip it since we all know everyone is going to give it a 10.  :mrred:  :mrred:  :mrred:  :mrred:

Yeah, I also like the whole episode. :mrsilver: I especially liked Joel and Dorothy's enthusiasm, and their dominance throughout the episode. It's a pretty memorable episode the whole way through too. From the aforementioned enthusiasm, to the unique temple games, to the temple run. What do I remember about Ahmed Baba? Well, they had an interesting set up of games too. But other than that, nothing. Enormous Nose Ring is on a completely different level than Ahmed Baba, it's not even a contest. And I also agree that if Joel actually DID shatter Shaka Zulu's time, I'd have more respect for it. At least it wouldn't seen so "lucked into."

And yes, Shaka Zulu is indeed tomorrow. :mrred: Why don't I just log in a "10" for the final total and be done with it now? Since it is the "best win ever" after all. The YouTube n00bs can thank us later.

I gave this win a 1. I don't care if the production error wasn't Bobby's fault, this win was completely lucked into. Bobby was just an average player who just happened to win because the Holes of Python/Tomb door wasn't supposed to open. Yet YouTubers call this "the best win ever" and only look at the layout and outcome and boom, it automatically makes it a good win. And I really don't get how Bobby "was fast going through all the rooms." It took him 53 seconds to get to the artifact, and 53 seconds to get out with it. How is that possible? David from Lawrence of Arabia had the exact same exit route, yet he only needed 27 seconds to escape from the temple. Oh yeah, and he's a better player than Jennifer from John Sutter too apparently. Does Bobby get any sympathy or accolades from me? Hell no.

I gave Shaka Zulu a 1. I don't know why I even gave it a 2 in the original topic. I hate this win more than              even. Bobby got really really lucky with his layout, and he happened to finish with the fastest win on the show to do that. And now, the run is praised more than ever just because it is the fastest win ever. Did the casuals even watch the temple run? Bobby probably wouldn't have won if he was forced to take the long way. :?

I gave this run an 8. This was a solid temple performance by Tiffani. She may have been lucky, and she wasn't the fastest, but she got the job done handily. I would've rated this higher if it weren't for Nick Gas playing this episode 1029384756 times. So this win has kind of worn off me a little bit. Plus, it was one of the very first episodes I ever saw. Back when YouTube only had four episodes of the show uploaded. Regardless, this was a great win, and Tiffani did a great job in the temple and made no mistakes. And that's all that matters. ;)

I'm a big fan of Gawain. I think it's slightly underrated in that it doesn't get a lot of love or attention, but it's a great win. Gave it an 8 because 8.5 wasn't an option.

I love Sir Gawain! I don't care how much people complain about Tiffani being slow or lucky with her temple guard layout, she did a solid job in the temple. She was one of the very few contestants to make it back to the platform and she completed her rooms at a reasonable pace. And she did a good job getting the Helmet out of the temple despite its sheer size. She handled her layout just fine and speed is not everything. I enjoy this win despite how many times I have seen it. I am going to give it an 8.  :mrorange:

I also love how after Tiffani crosses the temple gates, ready to pass out, neither Kirk or Jahmel help take the helmet off her hands. They just stand there celebrating, not even attempting to take the helmet from her.

I gave this win a 5. Sorry, but I think Shane is extremely overrated, and he gets way too much credit for his run. This layout was WAY too easy. The temple guard placement was just asking for a win. Then compare it to Leopard Skin Cloak, where Chandra gets the exact same layout, and makes better time with harder rooms. Only Shane gets to keep going, but because the Purple Parrots are unlucky, Chandra gets taken out one room away. Any average person would've won with this layout, even players like Renee and Aqila would've won. Shane gets way too much love. I actually think me giving him a 5 is too generous. Either way, he is very overhyped.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 8: The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba
Post by: The Red Jaguars on July 03, 2014, 09:12:35 AM
Yeah, I gave Ahmed Baba a 5 also. If there is one win I am sick and tired of hearing about, it is this one right here. Now, I really don't care if someone likes this win or not. I just don't think that it is so special that it shouldn't receive any criticism. I don't care if Shane handled every room fine, he had a very lucky temple guard layout and he made a mistake that we always criticize other players for doing. I mean how many times have we criticized a team for taking a Mine Shaft elevator? Two-Cornered Hat, Gordian Knot, Ivory Elephant, and Annie Oakley. So what makes him above them? Because he lucked out and won? I doubt he would've won in those layouts.

I even like the Trojan Horseshoe better than Ahmed Baba.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 8: The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba

Yeah, and good luck convincing all the fanboys that Shane was nothing special. I swear, I hate this run more and more and more and more each day. I almost rank it the same level as Silk Ladder, Geronimo, hell I almost prefer SILVER FUCKING HORSESHOE over this one. I might actually change my vote to something lower. I despise this run, and all the overhype made me hate it even more. I am sick and tired of hearing about what a "groundbreaking," "breathtaking" run this is. You want hard layout where someone won? Try Lost Hornpipe and Apanuugpak. But this win? It's completely forgettable, uneventful, and Shane was completely slow and unimpressive. This win can die in a fire for all I care. Boy, and I thought Shaka Zulu was overhyped. I guess what some people call skill is what I call "luck."

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 8: The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba
Post by: The Red Jaguars on July 03, 2014, 11:58:44 PM
The thing that bothers me about Ahmed Baba is that it seems like we are bad guys for criticizing Shane for taking a long path. Yet, people always malign Jarrid from Pirate Captain for his Secret Password detour and someone even argued that Jessica and Jarrid were lucky even to win. I wouldn't have a problem with this win so much if people could make an argument about why Shane is a good contestant aside from winning. It is an episode that gets mentioned way too much ad I am sick of hearing about it.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 8: The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba

Yeah, and you also forgot to mention how this used to happen a lot in the past too. And better idea! Let's bring down our favorites like Tony from Billy the Kid, and call him a bad player just because of ONE MISTAKE he made at the end of the run. And let's compare him to fucking Icarus too. Even if it weren't for us being called bad guys, I would still hate this win and call it overrated. There's literally nothing special about this run, AT ALL.

And FYI, I am not going to update this poll tonight, I'll keep it open until the night of July 5. It's my birthday, and frankly, I don't feel obligated to update any poll that's just gonna get bad reviews anyways.  So this poll will be open through July 5. Maybe this will give everyone plenty of time to vote. Sorry to keep everyone waiting with this win. Believe me, I wouldn't have mentioned or talked about this win at all if it weren't for this poll. If this is an inconvenience to you, I'll update it after all.

I gave this win a 6. I don't hate it, but I don't love it either. It's kind of just "there." Lucretia and Shawn were competent players, and they did do a good job scoring the first ever Green Monkeys win, but there's just no excitement to it. Meh, just give me tomorrow's win please.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 9: The Trojan Horseshoe
Post by: The Red Jaguars on July 06, 2014, 12:37:58 AM
I gave Trojan Horseshoe a 7. It definitely wasn't one of the most exciting wins on the show, but the team handled their layout fine and scored the first Green Monkeys win. I definitely don't see how this win is comparable to John Sutter though. Damien and Jennifer's win was much more memorable and exciting than Trojan Horseshoe. At the end of the day though, Lucretia and Shawn didn't do anything wrong in the temple and their path was reasonable for a Season 1 team. Which is why I didn't give them that low of a score.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 9: The Trojan Horseshoe
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on July 06, 2014, 01:01:06 AM
John Sutter is not in ANY WAY comparable to Trojan Horseshoe. Like others liked to claim in the past. Sure the layouts were similar, but John Sutter was MUCH more exciting, and had faster players too. Just another reason to pick on John Sutter I'm assuming.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 9: The Trojan Horseshoe
Post by: AimYourBrent on July 06, 2014, 01:03:16 AM
I went with a 6. I thought 5 was too low but I can't go as high as a 7 for this win. And comparisons to John Sutter?! Really?!?!
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 9: The Trojan Horseshoe
Post by: The Red Jaguars on July 06, 2014, 11:43:05 AM
I think people compare them because both had similar paths to the Tomb. Except they weren't really that similar anyways. Damian was taken out much more early than Lucretia. Jennifer had to take a longer path than Shawn, and she seemed to move faster too. Although Shawn was not bad at all either, and he even had a pretty quick Silver Monkey assembly. But I like Jennifer more than him. Other than that, I really have no problem with the Trojan Horseshoe. I definitely like it better than Ahmed Baba too. ;)
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 9: The Trojan Horseshoe
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on July 06, 2014, 03:46:50 PM
It's silly of anyone to think that John Sutter and Trojan Horseshoe are comparable AT ALL. Jennifer lasted longer in the temple, had a slightly altered path, and it was MUCH more memorable then utterly boring Trojan Horseshoe. This is just another reason for *coughTHKcough* to hate John Sutter. Yeah, let's overpraise other contestants, just to make our least favorites look bad. Remind me again why Jennifer didn't even get a 5 rating in the player rankings thread? Yeah, NOW we show excitement for Trojan Horseshoe. Sorry to rant, but this bias some people have/had is so tired and ridiculous.

I gave this win a perfect 10. I was gonna give it a 9, but I actually think a 10 is more suitable. This run was excellent! Who cares if Tarrah wasn't fast or got confused on the top floor? She got the job done handily, even AFTER taking that nasty fall in the Pit. All with a single second left on the clock, all by herself. I much prefer this run to Buddha because Tarrah had a harder layout, was more competent, and her run was more exciting. I may even go as far as saying this was THE best Purple Parrot run ever. Excellent job, Tarrah! You earned this win. ;) :mrpurple:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 10: The Milk Bucket of Freydis

I gave Freydis a 10 too before even coming into this topic.  :mrpurple: Tarrah's win was very exciting and I have to say that this is the biggest underdog victory on the show. This is a perfect example of how a win can be strong without having a Gator-like player on the show. Even then, Tarrah completed her rooms at a good pace. She definitely deserves credit for taking a hit in the Pit and recovering from it while scoring a last second win. Not even Jason from Icarus could pull off victory despite having more time and no accidents in the Pit. I love Freydis and it trumps Buddha in every way. One of the best wins on the show.  :mrpurple:

Yeah, and I was gonna say, Tarrah was SUCH a trooper scoring a solo win after jumping across that huge pit. She even broke the Milk Bucket in the process. Plus, she had to be easily the shortest contestant on the show. Her Purple Parrot T shirt literally went down to her knees. Either way, this was easily one of the, if not the strongest win on the show. :mrpurple: :mrpink:

I probably would've given it a 9.5 too, and I almost gave it a 9. Since that's the score I gave the temple run in my episode review of it. But a 10 is much more fitting. Regardless, it's gonna rank high in the end anyways. :mrpurple: :mrpink:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 10: The Milk Bucket of Freydis
Post by: The Red Jaguars on July 10, 2014, 08:56:59 PM
Freydis totally deserves a 10 in my book. I remember Tarrah won the "Best Legends Female Player" elimination thread a long time ago, and everyone was upset she won. I was pretty surprised because she really was one of the best female players on the show. I think people only look at her slow speed which is why they don't think highly of her. I think they overlook the nasty fall she took in the Pit and how she recovered from it and still won. Contestants like Jason, Ronald, Kimberly, and Chris from Pecos Bill can't say the same thing despite having a lot of time on their hands. I love Tarrah's win and anyone who thinks Buddha is better needs to stop reading Youtube comments. :?

Freydis >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Buddha>>>>>>>>>>> Shaka Zulu

EDIT by PPF, since your post was way too stretched out. When it didn't need to be.

You do realize that that contest took place over 7 years ago, right? Obviously opinions are gonna change by then. And I gave Tarrah a 10 in my rating in this thread. Sure I questioned that decision, but I still gave it to her nonetheless. Regardless, she's gonna rank high anyways. Let's just be grateful for that. And be grateful she's not called a bad player, just because Jennifer from Buddha gets "undeserved criticism," so oh I know! Let's bring other peoples favorites down, just to make our favorites look good. Jennifer is the best player of Season 1? HA!

By the way, I just wanted to say I'm sorry for not updating these polls so much. I just wanted to get at least four votes, and now I have since Brent is back now. I hope I didn't inconvenience you guys too much.

Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on July 11, 2014, 01:29:38 AM
I gave this win an 8. This was an awesome temple run, and an excellent start to the show! :mrsilver: This was THE first temple run on the show, you can't expect the players to be absolutely perfect and flawless in the temple. Jennifer was easily confused sure, but she did just fine in her short time in the temple. And Jammin' Jon was an excellent player. Very underrated, and needs some more praise here. The way he handles all those rooms and long path was very impressive for an early season temple run. He definitely lived up to his "anchor" nickname. This temple run was extremely exciting and kept me on the edge of my seat the entire time. It's not as exciting as all the other wins, (and one second wins for that matter), but Jennifer and Jammin' Jon were a great team, and they deserved to win. :mrsilver:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 11: Galileo's Cannonball
Post by: The Red Jaguars on July 11, 2014, 11:51:01 AM
I love Galileo! It was a very memorable and exciting win. Jennifer was a good contestant and Jammin John was a beast. I can't see how anyone can complain about their performance since they were literally the first temple team. Of course they are going to be a little confused! Even then, they moved fast and didn't get turned around too much. Not every run has to be like Apanuugpak. Jammin John was the star of this run for sure. I love the ending to this run too with Jammin John dropping the Cannonball... twice. Overall, this was a solid run and my favorite Silver Snakes win on the show. I am shocked at some of the hate this win gets. So I am going to give it a 9.  :mrsilver:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 11: Galileo's Cannonball
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on July 11, 2014, 06:57:49 PM
Exactly, I also don't understand the hate this win (and John Sutter for that matter) gets. Like I said in my above reasoning, this was THE first temple run on the show. You can't expect these players to be Season 3 level of flawless. I mean, Jennifer was easily confused, but besides that she didn't make any real mistakes. And Jammin' Jon was the star of the show. :mrsilver: He was very fast and impressive for such an early temple run on the show. I think if anything, Jammin' Jon is more underrated and not talked about at all. He really hasn't been praised at all since the old days of the forum. So this whole "overrated" stuff makes no sense. This was a very exciting win, and Jennifer and Jammin' Jon deserve to win. And deserve all the love they get. :mrsilver: Plus, the early Season 1 quirks is what makes this run so unique. ;)

Speaking of Apanuugpak, that's coming up next.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 11: Galileo's Cannonball

Yeah, the early Season 1 quirks makes runs like Galileo, Sultan Saladin, and Lost Gold Mine enjoyable wins. Jammin John and Tia were a great team all day! I don't care what people say about these wins, I will always think highly of them. Jammin John was a beast and I would like someone to put up a real argument on why they don't believe he should be praised. And you're right, I never seen anyone really give Jammin John praise either. Almost everyone looked down on him because his layout was simple and he didn't move fast at times. Long story short, Galileo is an awesome win and Jammin John is one of my favorite male contestants on the show.  :mrsilver:

I went with a 7. If I was leaning towards a 9 for a win like Freydis, there's no way Galileo gets that high a mark from me. Don't get me wrong it's not bad, not at all, but it's not like one of my top 10 of all time either.

I gave this win a 9. This temple run was very exciting, and easily one of my favorite wins ever. But I feel like I can't exactly give it a perfect 10. Amanda and Gator were a great team in the temple. Amanda was a good player, she was NOT a terrible player at all. But Gator was clearly the star of the show here. The way he breezed through the temple, it had to be a record. He couldn't even keep his pants up! Just watch him try to hike them up the whole time he ran. Priceless. Gator to me is hands down, THE best player in Legends history, and he is definitely an all star player to me.

I gave Apanuugpak a 9 too. It was a great win for sure and Gator is no doubt the best player on the show. I loved how this kid knew that you don't have any time to screw around in the temple. I can Gator winning any layout with the speed he moved. Amanda was good too and I definitely like how supportive she was towards Gator. While it is an amazing win, this run never pulled me like it did for other people. I just don't find it to be the best win on the show. But I don't mind if people call it the best win though, because it absolutely deserves that title!

I personally think either Lucky Pillow or Lost Hornpipe deserve the best win ever title. But Apanuugpak ranks up there too. In fact, Apanuugpak literally got a solid 10 average last time around. So that does say something. ;)

Yeah, I definitely can't give Apanuugpak a 9 now. It is a great run, but I just can't totally get into it like some other wins. Maybe because I saw it A LOT back during the Nick GaS days.

In my mind, the only wins that deserve a perfect 10 are Pirate Captain, Annie Taylor, and Lawrence of Arabia.  ;)

I was gonna give it a 10, but I felt like a 9 would be more fitting instead. Everyone else gave it a 10 last time we did this topic. But now? I have a feeling either Lucky Pillow or Lost Hornpipe will get that average. Not that they don't deserve it.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 12: The Mussel-Shell Armor of Apanuugpak

I don't mind if people rate this win as a 10, but I just don't feel like it is entirely fitting though. I like Lost Hornpipe better because it was an exciting run from start to finish. Jessica and Jarrid both dominating the temple was very exciting every second of the way. Apanuugpak was kind of average up until Gator entered the temple. Now, if Amanda moved faster than maybe I could've loved this win a little more. But still, people are not wrong for calling this the best win ever. It does deserve that title for Gator.  It just doesn't pull me in all the way like Lawrence of Arabia, Annie Taylor, and Lost Hornpipe. Those are the wins I will always give a 10 to. ;)

It looks like this episode is gonna finish with a solid 9 average instead of a solid 10 average. Not that I mind, but Lucky Pillow is the one that NEEDS to get a solid 10 average. It just has to, you can't NOT love that win. After all, Lucky Pillow (the artifact) got a solid 10 average, am I right?

I gave this win a 1. I know this is too low, but this win is waaaaaay overrated. While Paula did a decent job in the temple, she wasn't THAT great. People just like her because of that dumbass "Comeback Kid" story arc, which is a sugar coated way of saying "You barely scraped by each round." It's not like they're THE only team to barely scrape by. The War Fan team did it, the Enormous Feather did got to the temple the same way, so how come they don't get a parade thrown for them? This is basically the "Geronimo" of Season 2. Where Paula completely lucks into her layout, yet somehow she gets nothing but praise for it. I don't care how "amazing" of a player Matt was. It's the most undeserved win ever next to Shaka Zulu and Silk Ladder.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 13: The Silver Horseshoe of Butch Cassidy
Post by: The Red Jaguars on July 14, 2014, 11:50:26 PM
I gave Butch Cassidy a 2. This is one of the most over-exaggerated wins on the show. Just because a player finishes with a lot of time does NOT mean it is a good win. In this case, Paula's win is easy to hate because of how her team went to the temple. I still believe that Paula fell off her horse before time was up during the team game. But that is a whole different story. The win itself is so lame and definitely one of the bottom wins on the show. How someone finds a contestant who hits actuators all the way to their artifact to be amazing is beyond me. The only reason I didn't give it a 1 was because at least Paula moved at a decent pace and knew what she was doing. I hate Geronimo more than this win because people make Mitchell out to be another Ty or Zac with his dumb luck with the Treasure Chest. And Mitchell moved slow and made a bone-headed mistake after grabbing the artifact.

Long story short, one of the most boring and lame wins on the show.  :?

Yeah, I am completely convinced that the third temple game call was 100% wrong and that Paula DID fall off the horse. I will stand by that until the day that I die. Like I said, people just like Paula and Matt because of their stupid "Comeback Kid" storyline. If they had been first in the moat, and swept the temple games, I bet nobody would even give them a second look. Best temple run ever? HA!

Case in point: Dr. Livingstone. Brett and Tabitha were pretty dominant before the temple run including finishing first in the moat and sweeping the temple games. And yet, no one can even remember this is a win.

Yeah, I was gonna mention Dr. Livingstone too. They were second in the moat AND steps, swept the temple games, and won using the same exact layout Bandit Queen and Metal Beard did. And no special little story arc either. Sorry Brett and Tabitha.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 13: The Silver Horseshoe of Butch Cassidy
Post by: The Red Jaguars on July 15, 2014, 12:10:41 AM
It depends on the team when it comes to temple game sweeps. Some of the temple game sweeps were so painfully obvious that the team would win that they were so unexciting to watch (Stone Head, Dr. Livingstone, Zenobia, etc.) But those teams weren't that great in the temple even though they swept their temple games. Runs like Dolley Madison where the team performs strongly in the temple are more easy to root for. Now that is a sweeping Orange Iguanas team I would take over Butch Cassidy if Paula and Matt swept the temple games.

I gave this win a 5. Another forgettable, downright uninspiring Season 1 win. Robert was fast, but Tracy was pretty slow. And what REALLY drags it down for me was her complete and utter lack of enthusiasm when she crosses the gates. Hello, you just won the grand prize. At least LOOK like you're having fun. I personally don't like this win at all. =/
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 14: The Snake Bracelet of Cleopatra

I gave Snake Bracelet a 5. This temple run was both boring and forgettable. Robert and Tracy had an easy layout, but they still almost didn't win thanks to Tracy. Robert was definitely a fast guy, but Tracy was too slow and looked a little clueless. Plus, she had no enthusiasm at the end of the run. Sorry, but it is hard to enjoy a win when the contestants themselves aren't happy. Plus, a layout this easy should've had a Benzibab record. Tara and Danny would've demolished this layout. I don't hate this win though, but I don't really like it. I am simply indifferent towards it. :|

I gave this win an 8. This was a great early Season 1 temple, and great first solo run too. :mrsilver: So what if Lea took a direct path? She still moved fast, and never got turned around again once he left the Wall Climb. Plus, you gotta love Kirk's post run rant asking Lea all sorts of ridiculous questions. Just let the girl catch her breath and celebrate Kirk! This was a solid run, and Lea was a solid contestant in my book. ;) :mrsilver:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 15: The Star of Sultan Saladin

I gave Sultan Saladin an 8. One of the better wins on the show and one of the best wins of Season 1. I can't believe people complain about Lea's performance and win. Lea was fast, smart, and won with a lot of time! I know her strategy to get to the artifact was a little too obvious, but it is not like it had a Golden Ship outcome. I can't believe people called Jennifer from Buddha the better contestant when she moved so slow and looked lost half of the time. Sultan Saladin is a great win and Lea did a solid job for the first solo win ever.  :mrsilver:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 15: The Star of Sultan Saladin

What I can't believe is that she's compared to Bobby from Shaka Zulu, and manages to rank lower than him. O_O Lea is definitely a better player than both players put together. She deserved to win!

And I just realized I called Lea a "he" in my reasoning. Among my other typos. Oops.... I guess that boy's haircut had something to do with it. :P

I gave this run an 8. What a solid temple run! :mrred: Sure the layout was a little easy, but Kris and Kristin were fast, smart, and got the job done handily. I would even go as far as saying Kristin was one of THE best female players in the shows history. This was a fantastic way to end the show. And the artifact looked incredible too. :mrred:

I gave Catherine the Great a 9. One of the best wins on the show. Even though the layout was kind of simple for Season 3 standards, that doesn't stop it from having a strong performance by Kris and Kristin. They did a solid job in the temple. The Red Jaguars don't have many good runs, but this one is the exception. It was a very memorable and exciting, even if it was because it was the last day ever. You couldn't have asked for a better way to end the show. Which is why I gave this win a high score.  :mrred:

I gave this run a 9. I almost want to give it a 10 actually. This was an excellent, almost flawless temple run. So what if Olivia Emma and Robert's path was short? So what if Olivia Emma didn't pick up the half pendant? They were a great team and they deserved to win. Their layout was very hard for early Season 2 standards, obviously their objectives were gonna take a while to finish. You can't hold that against them. Plus, you gotta love the one second win where Olivia Emma makes that huge leap back to the temple gates. This was a very memorable and exciting win, and I just don't see the point in nitpicking at it. Robert and Olivia Emma deserve all the praise they get.

Post by: The Red Jaguars on July 20, 2014, 12:40:53 AM
I gave Emiliano Zapata a 9. This was a great win and very exciting on top of that! I don't see how anyone could call Robert and Olivia-Emma's layout easy when they faced some of the toughest rooms that the temple offered at the time. You don't have to enter every room of the temple to be called a good win. And Olivia-Emma and Robert hardly did anything wrong. They both moved fast and handled their rooms just fine. Sure, Olivia-Emma passed up the half-pendant that might've been deadly if there was another temple guard. Did it affect the outcome? No, so people should use their time complaining about Nathan Hale and Sacred Ring instead of focusing on this run. Overall, this was an exciting win and the down to the wire makes it one of the most exciting finishes in the history of the show. I love this win and it never gets old to watch.

Seriously, I just don't see how anyone can diss call this win bad. This was a very exciting win, and very memorable compared to say, Tall Turban and Dr. Livingstone. Layouts don't mean anything to me. As long as the players look like they know what they're doing, and are competent, that's all that matters. There's no point in nitpicking and calling this run bad. I love the Applewood Amulet run, and I thought they deserved to win.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 17: The Applewood Amulet of Emiliano Zapata

Yeah, they totally deserved to win. The nitpicking like Olivia-Emma missing the half-pendant is just over-the-top because it had no impact on the run. I honestly never think about it when ranking this run because it is irrelevant. If it ended in triple capture, then I would criticize her when needed. But I am not going to nitpick over something that never panned out. Same with Jarrid from Pirate Captain. His detour into the Secret Password never bothered me. ;)

And why think of the bad things, when the team won? I mean, 4/32 one second wins is a pretty good total. I would say this is my favorite one second win, but Freydis and Lawrence of Arabia rank just ahead of it. But this one is still good too. It's in my Top 10 at least. ;)
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 17: The Applewood Amulet of Emiliano Zapata

I guess people like contestants like Ron, Kimberly, and Jason who have more than enough time to bring their artifacts out but crap the bed in the end and still fail to lose. Olivia-Emma had much less times than those losers, yet she still pulls off the win. So why complain about her win? This win is also in my top 10 too. ;) Although I like Lawrence of Arabia a little better because this win literally kept me at the edge of my seat and Freydis because I did not expect Tarrah to pull it off at all.

Applewood Amulet is in my Top 10 favorites for both wins AND episodes in general. And I agree, Olivia Emma had a MUCH better exit plan than the likes of Ron, Kimberly, and especially Jason. I couldn't ask for a better ending to a temple run. Olivia Emma and Robert were excited, the audience was excited, even Kirk was excited. ;) You can definitely tell with his enthusiastic than usual "SHE MADE IT!!!!" right when Olivia Emma crossed the gates.

Yeah, same here. And don't you just love it when a temple run can do that to you? That just goes to show how memorable and nailbiting it was. And when I first watched the full episode, it was an encode from Aaron's site with the logo covering clock. I gave this win a 1. This was easily one of the most uninspiring wins on the whole show. Just like with Silver Horseshoe, Mitchell just got lucky with a layout filled with nothing more than just "hit the actuator" rooms. And I can't believe people think Mitchell planned to open the treasure chest instead of merely opening it willy nilly. Like any other contestant would do. He just lucked into it, and the treasure chest just happened to be opened the day he went through the temple. Not planned at all. Mitchell is way overrated, and he gets too much credit for his performance just like Paula, Bobby, and Shane do. Oh yeah, and he almost assembled the monkey upon escaping the temple. Can I just skip this one, record a "1.00" in the OP and chart and move on to tomorrow's win please?

Good choice, because I was going to give Geronimo a 1.  :mrblue: I HATE this temple run with a passion. It is exactly like Butch Cassidy, except Mitchell is way more overrated than Paula. Unlike Paula, people place Mitchell's win among the best wins on the show. This win is both lame and boring. And I find it hard to believe that using the Treasure Room chest was part of his strategy. It was more the luck of the draw that it worked for him that day. I guess Kristen would've been a strategist too if it worked for her during the Lucky Pig run? I hate this win with a passion and I can't believe Mitchell is considered one of the best guys when all he does is walk through the temple and complete hit the actuator rooms. And I guess good contestants also try completing room objectives when they have the artifact too?

I gave this win a 9. I love this run, Andrea did a solid job with the objectives she had, and rarely got turned around. It's nice to see this win get some praise now, considering how underrated and overlooked this win is. I know it's not the most memorable win, but it was still a great performance and I enjoy very second of this run.

I gave Chandragupta a 9! This was an awesome win that I can't find any flaws in. Andrea did everything she was suppose to in the temple - move fast, complete her rooms swiftly, and she even signaled her half-pendant back to her partner. This was the one win that never got much love for the longest time, but I am glad that more people appreciate it. I've always enjoyed this win, and I would've given it a 10 too but it lacked the excitement factor a little bit. But I think a 9 is a great score, and I love this win.

Yeah, that's the same reason I didn't give it a perfect 10. The excitement factor lacked a little bit. But that still didn't detract from what an awesome run it was. Oh well, maybe Brent will stumble upon this thread and give it a perfect 10 for us. Since he even loves this win. ;) And I also loved Andrea's waving of the half pendant to Shaun. Great teamwork there.

Andrea's performance was solid all the way through and I can't think of saying anything bad about the win. People point out that she moved slow in some places, but I don't recall her slowing down once. And she won handily too. They are probably the same people that nitpick with Missy and Jennifer and Damian.

I'm sorry, what? People actually dissed her? I like Andrea, and I love her temple run. I don't even remember anyone who dissed her in the past. Unless you somehow remember.

It wasn't a outright diss like Lea or Jennifer have received. It was more on the line of people being nitpicky like "Oh, Andrea moved a little slow while going down the slide" and the likes. You know, the same people that like to point out how Jarrid missed the Quicksand Bog and Olivia-Emma missed her half-pendant. ;)

Plus, she used to get eliminated in the old game threads relatively early because she "wasn't that great." Nowadays her spot in the Top 5 in any elimination game is pretty much a sealed deal.

I gave this win an 8. To me, this was a solid temple run. Who cares if the layout was easy? It was nice to see the Purple Parrots at long last score a MUCH needed win. And it took them almost two whole seasons to accomplish that too. This episode was PP Pwnage all the way through, and Kelly and Tony were equally as strong in the temple too. It even came right after another PP Pwnage episode too, (Leopard Skin Cloak), and the fact that they won and not Chandra and Nick just made this win that much better. :mrpurple: Tony was especially a strong player, and he doesn't deserve any of the criticism he gets for his delay exiting the temple. Nor does he deserve to be compared to Jason form Icarus. Tony just made one mistake at the end of the run, Jason sucked from the beginning. Regardless, Kelly and Tony were a great team, and they deserved to win. :mrpurple:

Billy the Kid was a great first win for the Purple Parrots and you couldn't have asked for a better way to win. The layout may have been easy, but there is more to a win than just the layout. The "Purple Parrot Pwnage" storyline alone made this win memorable and it was hard not to root for Kelly and Tony. They dominated every round to get to the temple and then proceeded to win the temple run! The win itself ha some flaws like Tony's exit plan, but it was still a solid performance. People say it would've been nice to see the Purple Parrots win in Butch Cassidy or Shaka Zulu, but I am glad that they didn't win in those episodes. It would've made Billy the Kid less magical. I am going to give this one an 8 too.  :mrpurple:

Yeah, because the Red Jaguars get all the "best wins" right? :P

But yeah, I agree. If the Parrots had won in Silk Ladder and/or Butch Cassidy instead of Billy the Kid, then it would've made Billy the Kid feel less special. On the opposite end of that, if the Leopard Skin Cloak kids had won just like Kelly and Tony, then it would've been PP Pwnage ten fold. :mrpurple: :mrpink:

I gave our favorite  smiley train win a 1. This was easily the simplest layout this show has ever seen, and Erica and Jeremy make it out to be a BIG task due to moving like rocks. I can't really fault Erica since she was rather speedy. But fatty Jeremy annoyed me the most. I also hated how smug he acted as he crossed the finish line. I'm sure it was SO exhausting pressing what, two actuators in the temple. This is easily the worst win ever, any team would've won with this layout. Just give me tomorrow's win please.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 21: Robin Hood and Marian's Ladder

Another lowly 1 for Silk Ladder. This was the easiest layout on the show, and the kids still finished with little time on the clock. I can't believe people gave this a win a 2 in the old topic. I can't find anything redeemable about this win at all. I don't have a problem with Erika though, she did fine in her short time in the temple. Jeremy on the other hand looked lost and confused most of the time. And he moved so slow too. And I hate his stupid victory dance at the end of the temple run too.       Overall, this is the worst win on the show next to Shaka Zulu. Even John and Tia could've won this layout.

I gave this win a perfect 10. We now jump from the worst win ever, to one of the, if not THE, best win ever. What more can I say? Jessica and Jarrid owned everything! Jessica to me, is easily the best female player this show has ever seen. Seriously, just look at the way she destroys that central shaft. She made it look like it was nothing. And when she makes it all the way to the Room of the Ancient Warriors, she STILL has a whopping 1:30 left on the clock. Jarrid goes in next and is even faster. I don't care of he did detour into the Room of the Secret Password or not. He was still a speed demon and got the hornpipe out handily in no time flat. Kirk said it himself, (after doing his little air hump), "One of the best teams we've ever had!" And he wasn't lying. This temple run was flawless, this and Lucky Pillow are by far the best temple runs and wins ever. :mrblue:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 22: The Lost Hornpipe of the Pirate Captain

An easy 10 for Lost Hornpipe! One of the strongest team performances ever on the show! Everything about this win was great - dominating performance, enthusiasm by the players, and the little quirks make this run memorable. Jessica and Jarrid faced a tough layout, but you wouldn't even think about that because they were so dominating in the temple. I wish more teams had two really strong players like these two. Sadly, that almost never happened. :? Also, I didn't deduct for Jarrid's Secret Password detour either. Was he lucky? I guess so. So were other teams. I don't downplay this team's performance just to one lucky break that is not even a big deal. Overall, I have to say this is one of the best wins on the show. Lawrence of Arabia, Annie Taylor, and Lost Hornpipe are the best of the best in my book.  :mrred:  :mrblue:

I gave Genghis Khan a 6. This is one of the first wins I ever watched and it is nostalgic to me. The win might've been easy, but Taylor and Becca didn't do much wrong and still got the job done. The temple ending was pretty memorable and funny too. I gave this win a slightly higher score for being a childhood favorite and for being better than most Season 1 Red Jaguar runs.  :mrred:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 23: The Helmet of Genghis Khan

I gave this win a 4. This run bothers me for some reason. I don't know if it was unwarranted praise it's gotten in the past, or if it was just plain an uninspiring win. It was just like Geronimo, only it was a team effort, and not so much floor switching. I know this seems like a low score, but I just don't like this win. Still, Becca and Taylor did get the job done, and they earned their win fair and square. And I did like their enthusiasm at the end, where they couldn't even stay in camera frame. Other than that, it was a very forgettable win.

I split the difference and went with a 5. It's not one of my favorite wins. I often forget that this episode is a win if that tells you anything. Nonetheless, it is a win, and it's not Shaka Zulu or Robin Hood bad, so the 4-6 range seems totally fair.

I gave this win a perfect 10! This was simply put.... THE BEST RUN EVER! :mrblue: Seriously, this run was flawless. Who cares if Missy was slow? Who cares if she took a direct path? That's all irrelevant to me. She was very competent, hardly ever got turned around, and knew what to do in each room. You know a temple run is exciting when even Kirk, John, and the whole audience is excited and rooting for you. That audience went WILD once Missy crossed the gate! How can anyone not like Lucky Pillow? This was an excellent temple run and Missy and John deserved to win. :mrblue:

I gave Annie Taylor a 10.  :mrblue: One of the best wins on the show and my personal favorite win.  :mrblue: Everything that makes a Legends episode great is jam packed into this epic run. Missy was a solid contestant and her win was very special and universally loved for a reason! She scored the first ever center of the room run on the show. On top of that, the emotional and memorable factor were through the roof in this episode. Missy's high emotions made it a very magical run! Unfortunately, this win also comes with a huge target on its back. I have never seen a run more over-analyzed than Missy's performance. It is like every little move she makes she gets criticism. :? Sorry, but you don't have to be like Gator to be a good contestant. The ending is great too with Missy in tears, Kirk's enthusiasm, and Ty's cheering and he even gets another titty touch!! Overall, I love this run and think that people should look past the haters when viewing it. It is one of the best wins on the show for a reason. :mrblue:  :mrblue:  :mrblue:  :mrblue:  :mrblue:  :mrblue:

I'm guessing he (and THK for that matter) would probably give it a 5. And lament on how "slow" and "clueless" she was. But I have a feeling we're looking at yet another perfect 10 average here. :mrblue: The only other one I can see getting a perfect 10 average is Lawrence of Arabia, and maybe John Sutter. I gave this win an 8. It was a great team effort by both Annie and Kevin. Even though their layout was easy, they still got the job done handily and then some. Even with a layout as generous as theirs, finishing with over a minute left on the clock is no fluke. :o While this was a great run, I can't really say it's one of my favorites. I'm just not as sold on it as all the other wins. Either way, Annie and Kevin were both fast and competent, and they earned their win fair and square. Plus, this win is infamous by a certain old member here who really loved this whole episode a little too much. :mrsilver:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 25: The Ruby Earring of Benzibab

I gave Benzibab an 8 the first time and I am going to give it an 8 again.  :mrsilver: This is pretty much the only fast win I even like along with Iron Nose Ring. Kevin and Annie did benefit from the last production day and their layout was generous, but finishing with over a minute on the clock in a Season 3 temple was still an impressive feat. You would expect that from piss easy runs like Silk Ladder or Snake Bracelet. This was a quality win and I like this one much better than Sforza. The downside to this win is that it doesn't really stack against the other Season 3 wins. It only ranks ahead of Roland and Sofrza in my book. But I am not going to downplay the Silver Snakes performance and going to give them the credit they deserve.  :mrsilver:

Also...

I gave this win a 5. Nothing special about this win at all. It was just like Silk Ladder, only a little less pathetic. But still, Adam pretty much walked through the temple, and just barely got out with such an easy layout. If there's one thing positive I can say, I liked Shannon's strategy on how to get to the collar, and that certainly would've made for an interesting layout. But otherwise, I wasn't impressed. By neither the win nor the artifact itself. I mean, a pendant. Come on now. But, I suppose it's better than tomorrow's equally as mundane Shrine win.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 26: The Collar of Davy Crockett

I gave Davy Crockett a 4. It was a pretty easy win like "      ", but with an extra room and objective tacked on. Shannon was a good contestant, but Adam was so slow and almost made this into a temple loss. Seriously, finishing with 5 seconds left is pathetic. But still, this win is not the worst on the show and I prefer it over a handful of other wins. The ending was pretty comical with Kirk hesitating to declare victory. And Shannon calling the Wheel Room the "squirrel run" was pretty memorable too. :P

I gave this win a 5. Another snore fest, and another uninspiring Shrine win. Just like with Ahmed Baba, you forget it's even a win half the time. Only nobody really talks about this win at all. Neither Tabitha or Brett were particularly fast, but they did win fair and square if that means anything. But besides Brett's entering of all 12 rooms, nothing sticks out about this win. I realize it's the exact same path as Secret Map and Metal Beard, (the latter where Randy also entered all 12 rooms), but those runs were more exciting and memorable, and this one wasn't. Fortunately for us, the last five wins after this one are MUCH more exciting, and some of the best wins ever on the show.

EDIT: And I totally realized I spelt Brett's name as "Brent" in the OP. Whoops, but I changed it now.

I gave Dr. Livingstone a 4. This is the one win I never remember exists, and even to this day I still can't remember this was a win. As for the win itself, it was pretty boring and just average. Tabitha was a slow frontrunner and Brett was lucky to win despite unnecessarily entering all 12 rooms. It definitely don't have the excitement factor that the Egyptian Queen run contains. I don't really have any personal dislike for this episode, but I don't really care for it either. Season 2 has a lot more exciting and better wins.  ;)

Yeah, most of other Season 2 wins were MUCH better than this one. In fact, both this and Ahmed Baba are really the only two wins from Season 2 that I don't particularly care about. It wasn't the absolute worst, but it's not the best either. And what a coincidence that we're covering this run AND Bone Necklace in the newly started Purple Parrot thread. As we all know, both episodes were filmed back to back. Funny how that turns out. ;)

No Butch Cassidy to add to your list? ;)

But yeah, I like almost every Season 2 episode except this one, Ahmed Baba, and Butch Cassidy. It shows you how strong this season was. On the other hand, there are only 4 wins I like in Season 1. And that season had the most wins. I like every Season 3 win though, even Roland is not that bad. ;)

I can't believe I didn't include Butch Cassidy on the list. That's definitely another Season 2 win I dislike.

And I agree, Season 1 only had four good wins, Season 2 had a lot of good wins, and I like all the Season 3 wins. It definitely goes to show how much stronger the quality of wins got as each season passed. And speaking of Roland, that one is coming up tomorrow. ;)

I went with a 5 because this run is just slightly better than the ones I had previously given 4s and 3s to. It's not bad. It's just also not good. So it lands right in the middle for me.

I gave this run a 7. It was a great effort by Yakerra, but I wasn't entirely sold on it like the rest of the wins from Season 3. It felt way too generous, especially considering the last win before this one was Bandit Queen, filmed four days back. Plus, if Yakerra hadn't stalled in some rooms, then she probably would've shattered Shaka Zulu's record. On the other hand, this quick win is MUCH better than Shaka Zulu, and Yakerra did earn her win fair and square. Some would even say THIS was the actual legit "quickest win ever." And I can't help but agree with that honestly. This was one of the better runs Season 3 had, but I felt like it was a little too easy for me. Oh well, Yakerra did a decent job either way. ;)
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 28: The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland
Post by: The Red Jaguars on August 04, 2014, 11:50:31 PM
I gave Roland a 6. Even though it seems like I always give this win a hard time, I still enjoy it and Yakerra earned her win. She kept up a good pace in the time and finished with the second fastest time ever! And the whole temple run was pretty fun to with Kraig's cheering and Yakerra's enthusiasm at the end. On the downside, the layout was piss easy for Season 3 standards. So it is understandable that Yakerra had one of the fastest times. Imagine if Zac from Bandit Queen had this layout? We might've had a win with 2 minutes left. :mrsilver: But you can't really choose your layouts, and Yakerra didn't do anything wrong. I find this run a little overrated, but I appreciate much more than Shaka Zulu. I wish Yakerra's win had the fastest time, not the dumb luck Shaka Zulu run.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 28: The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on August 04, 2014, 11:53:17 PM
Yeah, if only Yakerra really did destroy Shaka Zulu's time. Then nobody would call Bobby "the best player ever" anymore. But yeah, while I do find this run a tad overrated, I definitely prefer it over Shaka Zulu. And Zac would've destroyed this layout had he gotten it instead. Same with Gator. That would be a 2+ minute finish for sure.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 28: The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland
Post by: The Red Jaguars on August 04, 2014, 11:55:49 PM
I am glad Gator and Zac didn't get this layout though. Then people would bash them and complain like they do about Joel having an easy layout. But boy, they would definitely destroy Roland's layout. :o
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 28: The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on August 04, 2014, 11:58:43 PM
Plus, Joel probably would've beat Shaka Zulu's time too if he didn't scale the whole central shaft on his way out of the temple. But yeah, Gator and Zac would've demolished a layout like Roland. And I have a feeling this win is gonna score much higher this time around. It's not my favorite win by any means, but as long as it's not precious little Shaka Zulu, it shouldn't finish with an average too low. ;)
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 28: The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland

I never hated Roland on the same level as Shaka Zulu or Geronimo. I don't mind it as long as it doesn't get too much love. Just like Nose Ring, it is still a fun win to watch and never gets old. Although it definitely is the weakest win of Season 3. But that doesn't make it bad, but the other wins were better.  ;)
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 28: The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on August 05, 2014, 12:07:30 AM
Yeah, Roland would probably be my "least favorite" win of Season 3. It's still a good win, but it just doesn't measure up as much as the other wins do. But yeah, as long as it's not too overhyped, I won't have a problem with it. It's pretty much on the same tier as Nose Ring. It's a solid win, but not my favorite. But still fun to watch nonetheless. ;)

I gave this win a 9. This to me, was a solid solo win. Despite Ty's dropping of his pendant, he was a great player and moved very swiftly through every room he entered, not getting turned around even once. Not only that, but I also loved Jennifer's enthusiasm from the sidelines. Even Kirk was excited and genuinely happy for him. This was one of the very few Orange Iguana runs I like, and this is also the only male solo victory that I like. I sort of like Nostradamus better, but this Orange Iguanas win was awesome too. :mrorange:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 29: The Lucky Medallion of Atocha

I gave Lucky Medallion a 10! One of my most favorite wins on the show, and by far my most favorite Orange Iguanas win. This win was both very and exciting and memorable. Ty enters the temple with the team's only pendant, but he drops it (by accident, Youtube) at the temple gates. Just as he enters the Ledges, "Jennifer" throws it back at him just at the right moment or else he would've been removed ala Mummified Hand! The rest of the way, he cleverly takes the high road and doesn't meet another guard at all and wins with an almost down to the wire ending. Kirk's enthusiasm as well as the Orange Iguanas at the end makes this a special win. A great performance and solid win like the other wins from this day. ;)  :mrorange:

I gave this win an 8. This was a solid Purple Parrot win to me. Both TJ and Randy were very fast and competent, and it was nice to see a Purple Parrot team win a tiebreaker for once. Considering they almost NEVER win tiebreakers. I don't care if Randy had a bad exit plan or not, she still got the job done very swiftly and handily. I know this layout is basically an exact replica of Dr. Livingstone and Bandit Queen, but this win and Bandit Queen were much more exciting. Very underrated and exciting win, and TJ and Randy deserved to win. :mrpurple:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 30: The Metal Beard of the Egyptian Queen

I gave Metal Beard a 9. I love this win and it is definitely one that could use more love too. It seems like all the haters are worry about was Randy's exit plan. Even though it could've been costly, it made the run more exciting. The close ending with TJ and Kirk shouting at Randy made this a down to the wire ending. Plus, TJ and Randy also moved quick in the temple prior to reaching the Metal Beard. Overall, this is a memorable and exciting win. The fact that TJ and Randy won the only PP tiebreaker AND won the temple run makes it more special. I like this win more than Bandit Queen (although this run is great too!) and definitely more than Dr. Livingstone.  :mrpurple:

Yeah, people are just mad because of Randy's exit plan. Yet Brett from Dr. Livingstone did the same thing, yet no one complains. But I definitely prefer this win and Bandit Queen over Dr. Livingstone. This is almost as underrated as Lion Headed Bracelet. We need to praise this win more. :mrpurple:

I gave this win a perfect 10. :mrblue: This is easily the best Season 1 episode and win ever next to Lawrence of Arabia. So what if Jennifer stalled in some rooms? This is early Season 1 here, where obviously, players are gonna be a little confused. It's expecting way too much to expect her to be perfectly flawless and not make one single mistake. Jennifer was fast, smart, and knew what she was doing for the most part. Plus, you gotta love her slip on the floor at the end. Overall, this was a very memorable and exciting win, and Jennifer and Damian deserved to win. :mrblue:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 31: John Sutter and the Map to the Lost Gold Mine

I gave Map to the Lost Gold Mine a perfect 10 too!  :mrblue: This was a fun win featuring one of the strongest teams of the first season. Everything about this win was great from the excessive Fogg-Ups to the Blue Barracudas solid performance. And Jennifer made this run memorable too from her hilarious temple strategy to her falling at the end on some random sheet. Unfortunately, this run also seems to get criticized and over-analyzed to the point people are being nitpicky with it. I honestly never found Damian or Jennifer slow or confused at any point. And like the Paintbrush mentioned, it was one of the earliest runs on the show. Of course it is not going to be perfect. I love this win and it is one of my all time favorites.  :mrblue:  :mrblue:  :mrblue:  :mrblue:  :mrblue:

This was the toughest one for me to vote on.

I went with a 9. If I could have I would give it a 9.5.

This is seriously as close to perfect as a run can be to me without being absolutely perfect.

And even then, I went back and forth between 9 and 10. In the end, I just couldn't see putting this in quite the same level as Annie Taylor.

To me, it's a near flawless temple run. I know Jennifer wasn't perfect, but she is way over analyzed and over criticized by picky haters of the run. Like I said above, this was one of the earliest runs on the show, so obviously not every players is gonna know what they're doing. Either way, it's gonna score high anyways, so that's all that matters. :mrblue:

I love when people rank their list because I always felt that in the past that I was the only one that loved this win. But some people went as far as to call it their favorite episode!  :mrblue: I never understood why this win gets a lot of hate. I don't expect people to list this as their favorite episode, but at the same time I don't understand how you can put down Jennifer's performance either. She had a long path to take in the temple and she handled it well. I would go as far as to say that Bobby from Shaka Zulu wouldn't have won if he was the second runner.  ;)

Yeah, and even my player rankings of the episode were more accurate than say.... Jennifer getting only a 5 average. Same with Damian. John Sutter is one of my favorite episodes and wins ever, and it's definitely in my Top 10. And yeah, Bobby from Shaka Zulu definitely wouldn't have won if he had John Sutter's layout. Then people wouldn't be calling him "the best player ever." :mrred:

I gave this win a perfect 10. This temple run was solid. It comes with everything you look for in a temple run. Excitement, fast competent players, and a nailbiter ending. All you need to know was that David was a flawless player, had the best exit plan in the shows history, and escaped with just one second left on the clock. Nickelodeon definitely did something right by airing this whole episode first. What an excellent temple run and episode. This is easily the best win of Season 1, with the previously covered John Sutter being a close second. :mrblue:

Lawrence of Arabia gets a 10 from me! After Annie Taylor, this is my second favorite win on the show.  The temple run was very exciting even though it was a Season 1 run. Candace laid out a god path for her partner, and David simply kicked ass. He moved swiftly through all his temple rooms and his temple exit was the most exciting and best on the show. Even better than the wonderful Bobby. ;) Like I said in the past, this win literally kept me on the edge of my seat and I didn't expect David to pull it off. But he made it with one second left, and the team was very enthusiastic about their win at the end! Great first win by Nickelodeon indeed.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 32: Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on August 19, 2014, 03:38:54 PM
He was definitely better than the wonderful amazing Bobby. I mean, Bobby escaped from the temple in 53 seconds, and David escaped in 27 seconds. And might I add David had a longer path in the temple? That's amazing! If only exit plans could've been more like the ones David made. I also agree that this win kept me at the edge of my seat. Where you think, "Is he really gonna make it? He has just under 30 seconds left." And sure enough, he did. This is probably my third favorite win behind Lost Hornpipe and Lucky Pillow. :mrblue:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 32: Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress

Lawrence of Arabia is also my favorite one second win out of the four on the show. The other three were great too, but I love Lawrence of Arabia a little more.  It always bothered me that people called this win "average" or David an "average player" just because it was a Season 1 run. Yeah, the rooms might've been easier than the Season 3 temple. But I don't think any less of this run either. Great win, and it ranks up there with Pirate Captain and Annie Taylor for me too. ;)
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 32: Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress

Lawrence of Arabia is also my favorite one second win. Though some people have called it a "two second win" before. But for me, it's just easier to remember it as a "one second win," since the ending was so close after all. I mean, one second, two seconds, same difference. I call it a one second win. I'm just not as picky as others when it comes to actual time. ;) But yeah, Lawrence of Arabia is my third favorite win. Lost Hornpipe would be second, and Lucky Pillow would be my absolute favorite. :mrblue:

Going from a mere 4.75 average to a 6.50 average from last time to now. :mrred: The biggest drop in averages is Geronimo, with a whopping 3.00 drop. It got a 4.00 last time, and got a solid 1.00 this time around. Other wins such as Very Tall Turban, Genghis Khan, and Apanuugpak suffered some drops in averages as well. The only two wins to get a solid 10 average was Lost Hornpipe and Lucky Pillow. :mrblue:  Last time, only Apanuugpak got a solid 10 average. Other than that, most of the averages stayed around the same as last time. This chart can pretty much do all the talking. ;)

And, that's it. Thank you everyone for participating in this rehash thread, and for taking the time to vote for all 32 wins this show had. I hope you guys had just as much fun participating in this poll as I did. All final thoughts and special thanks to me can go in here. ;)

Thank you for rehashing this. Paintbrush! It always fun visiting the wins again and praising the ones that deserve more recognition (Chandragupta, Galileo, Applewood Amulet) and maligning the ones that get too much praise (Shaka Zulu, Butch Cassidy, Moccasins). It is nice to see some wins like Chandragupta and Bandit Queen getting higher scores than they originally got. It is also nice to see Shaka Zulu finishing with the lowest score overall.  :mrred:  :mrred:  :mrred:  :mrred:  :mrred:  :mrred:  :mrred:  :mrred:  :mrred:

Don't forget the likes of Geronimo and Silk Ladder getting the same 1.00 average as well. ;) And man, updating the above chart was MUCH easier than in the rooms thread. Probably because a chart was already made for me, and all I had to do was cut and paste. Thanks Stone Marker for saving me an hour in making a chart from scratch. :mrred: And yay to Shaka Zulu for getting a solid 1 average too. :mrred:
