Title: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best Female Player (Blue Barracudas)
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 01, 2014, 09:05:32 PM
Time for the Season 2 version of this topic! I made a separate topic just so we can talk about each award by season. The same rules apply as the Season 1 version. ;)

Rules:
1.) Everyday, I will hold a poll for each of the categories below. You must vote for ONE run to win that category. The run that wins the most votes will win that category.
2.) I will make a separate poll for each category since it might be easier to vote one by one instead of altogether.
3.) Each poll will be open for 24 hours as usual.
4.) If you have a suggestion or discrepancy for any of the categories, just post your thoughts in this topic.
5.) Have fun! You can post your nomination below or just simply vote in the poll.

Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 01, 2014, 09:08:17 PM
I voted for "Annie Taylor" as the best win of Season 2. Season 2 had many great wins, but Annie Taylor was the best from this season. The win was very memorable from Missy's solid performance, Kirk's enthusiasm, and the memorable ending with Missy crying. She earned this win and this episode is a classic. Plus, she was the first center of the temple win too.  :mrblue: Other wins like Emiliano Zapata, Atocha, and Freydis were great too. But nothing can top Annie Taylor.  :mrblue:

I also voted for Annie Taylor. This to me, is the best temple run on the show next to Lost Hornpipe. Missy was amazing. :mrblue:

I too picked Annie Taylor, but one of the choices is Aurangzeb. :P

Poll has been fixed. Please pay attention to what you write down here, TRJ. It'll help a lot if you write down the right episodes for the right seasons. ;)

I had Lost Taj Mahal Turban there? I didn't even notice that. It was probably meant to be Ahmed Baba. Thanks for fixing that. ;)

Next up is the worst temple win of Season 2.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst Temple Win
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 02, 2014, 03:29:40 PM
I voted for Butch Cassidy as the worst win from this season. It was such a boring an uneventful win. No, I do not want to see a solo win where every room was hit the actuator. This win is not impressive by any means and Annie Taylor is miles better than this one will ever be.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst Temple Win
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on March 02, 2014, 03:34:41 PM
Yeah, gotta say Silver Horseshoe here too. Paula is hands down the most overrated contestant on the show, and I can't believe people like this run better just because "she was fast through all the rooms." But just because Missy was slower, boom she's a bad player.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst Temple Win
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 03, 2014, 03:53:33 PM
And Butch Cassidy wins the worst temple win title.

Next up is the nest "failed escape" temple run. This is the best episode where the player grabs the artifact, but fails to bring it out.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best "Failed Escape" Run
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 03, 2014, 03:57:40 PM
I voted for "Henry Morgan" as the best failed escape run from this season. Shem and Ashley were a solid team that gave us a very exciting temple run. Both players performed great in the temple, even if they both made a couple of mistakes. The ending to this run was very exciting and the enthusiasm displayed by both players at the end for even reaching the artifact makes this a memorable run. "Polynesian Girl" was exciting too, but I liked Henry Morgan slightly better.  :mrsilver:

A lot of these were pretty good, but I also picked Henry Morgan. Both players were great and their layout wasn't easy, even though it did have potential to be a solo win. Still an awesome run to watch.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best "Failed Escape" Run

Also voted for Henry Morgan, for same reasons.

I want to update this now because I won't be on tomorrow until very late in the evening due to both work and a big test. Henry Morgan wins the title with 4 votes, while Polynesian Girl gets 1 vote.

Next up is the worst "Failed Escape" run.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst "Failed Escape" Run
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 04, 2014, 12:56:40 AM
I voted for Icarus as the worst failed escape run. I honestly never found this run to be exciting as some people find it to be. It was painful to watch Jason piss all his time away by backtracking and moving slow. His layout was easy and he still couldn't bring the artifact out. I don't care how close he was, he deserved to lose. Teams like Mush Pot Hat and Polynesian Girl came really close too, and those runs were exciting. Icarus was just painful to watch and Jason was a moron for blowing it even after grabbing his artifact with 50 seconds left. -_-
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst "Failed Escape" Run

Yeah, voted for Icarus too. This temple run was just frustrating and irritating, not exciting or heartbreaking as people make it out to be.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst "Failed Escape" Run

Icarus wins the Worst "Failed Escape" run award.

Next up is the Best "Triple Capture" run. This is the best run where the team runs into all three guards with less than 2 pendants.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best "Triple Capture" Run
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 04, 2014, 09:47:49 PM
This one was way too easy. I voted for Missing Eye because this the only forgivable triple capture from this season. Michael and Emily were a good team, and their half-pendant was no where in sight. Plus, the temple run is pretty exciting and memorable too.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best "Triple Capture" Run
Post by: PurpleParrot319 on March 04, 2014, 10:03:41 PM
Another easy one. Missing Eye all day. Nothing comes close. It's sad to think that Lost Love Letter places behind it for best triple capture (to me, at least).
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best "Triple Capture" Run

Missing Eye for me too. I literally hate all the rest of the triple captures.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best "Triple Capture" Run

Yeah, Missing Eye is the only tolerable triple capture from this season. Which is no surprise why it wins this poll unanimously.  :mrsilver:

Next up is the worst triple capture.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst "Triple Capture" Run
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 05, 2014, 10:20:00 PM
Can we just vote for all the non Missing Eye runs for this title? Seriously, they are all pathetic and none of them should've ended that way. Since I can only pick one, I am going to vote for Nathan Hale. Christina was a dumbass for missing that half-pendant. It was in plain view, James signaled it to her, and Kirk told her she passed it. Apparently, it went in one ear and out the other. She was so slow anyways, so I don't see this team winning.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst "Triple Capture" Run
Post by: PurpleParrot319 on March 05, 2014, 10:31:51 PM
Holy crap, this is the hardest poll to date!

I guess I'll explain myself and hopefully it will lead me to my choice because as I'm typing this now, I really don't know, so let's break this down.

Missing Eye: No brainer, best loss of the group. This one will be discarded.

Nathan Hale: I really want to pick this one the most, but I still don't know. James was a good player in his short stay. Then Christina comes in and ruins it. She was slow, clueless, and missed the obvious half pendant that was pointed out to her. The run ended in quick capture. They weren't gonna win anyway, Christina was that bad. This is an embarrassing run to watch.

Harriet Tubman: Admittedly, this run was looking good until Ryann made the fatal mistake that lead to her capture in the Crypt. It was stupid, yeah, but I don't think it's the worst. Chris was pretty good before getting stumped in the Dark Forest, which is understandable because the doors were open to begin with for no reason.

Lost Love Letter: A mediocre loss, but not terrible. I can sympathize with the team because they had to deal with a broken Medusa's Lair, and Whitney handled it just fine. It was her speed that was the problem. Other than that, it wasn't awful.

Sacred Ring: Oh boy, here's where it gets really tough. Brian was bad and he didn't help matters by not pulling all three books and detouring into the Ledges, which had an avoidable temple guard. Gracelyn wasn't good either. She was slow and missed the obvious half pendant, even though it wasn't signaled to her. Still, it ended in capture. This was a bizarre layout though. This run was awful, but I don't know if it's worse than Nathan Hale.

Queen Nzinga: Wow, another doozy of a capture. Both players sucked, just like the Sacred Ring team. Benjamin was slow and mediocre, and so was Renee. She was worse though. She also missed the obvious half pendant and got caught in the next room. Not a lot of progress was made, and this layout was winnable (possibly similar to Butch Cassidy's layout if they were lucky to get it).

I'm still not sure. For me, it's either Nathan Hale, Sacred Ring, or Queen Nzinga. At first I wanted to pick Nathan Hale, but now I'm really torn between Sacred Ring and Queen Nzinga. Here's what I'll do. I'll let you guys discuss and I'll go with what you guys think. I just don't know, it's that hard. :o

Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on March 05, 2014, 10:33:49 PM
I went with Nathan Hale. Like TRJ said, this run was dreadful. Christina had a half pendant POINTED OUT to her, and she still missed it. There's just no excuse for that.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst "Triple Capture" Run
Post by: PurpleParrot319 on March 05, 2014, 10:34:45 PM
Well that was quick.

Guess I'll go with my original instinct and pick Nathan Hale too.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst "Triple Capture" Run
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on March 05, 2014, 10:37:22 PM
I was gonna pick Nzinga, since that run was a disaster too. But I just thought Nathan Hale was more painful to watch. While pretty much ALL the Season 2 triple captures (sans Missing Eye of course) were bad, Nathan Hale was still an obvious choice for me.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst "Triple Capture" Run
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 05, 2014, 10:41:25 PM
I say the final three choices for me would be Nathan Hale, Nzinga, and Sultan Suleiman.

Missing Eye is obviously the odd man out for this vote. It was actually a pretty exciting run and had a memorable ending. Also, I can excuse the Silver Snakes for their passing of the half-pendant because it was ridiculously obscure.

Captain John Smith is just a "meh" run. I don't care about it at all, but it is not as bad as the next four. I would not vote for it either.

Harriet Tubman had a really disappointing ending, but I wouldn't vote for it either. First off, Chris actually made decent progress in this run. Second, the temple ending was pretty unique too with Ryann's time ending due to running in the wrong entrance room. Due to this, I find it memorable and this episode is the next weakest link.

Nzinga, Sultan Suleiman, and Nathan Hale would be my final three candidates. My rankings go like this:

Sultan Suleiman: Brian and Gracelyn were both responsible for their loss ending in such a crappy way. I blame Brian more than I do Gracelyn. I wouldn't vote for this run though because I remember it for the unique path and the Purple Parrots only triple capture. :P

Nzinga: This run is pure garbage and Benjamin and Renee sucked. This was an easy temple layout but Renee pissed it away when she could've found the half-pendant (which Claude found) or plow through the wall. Plus, both players were slow as balls.

Nathan Hale: See summary above.

I think Nathan Hale wins it in the end. Christina had so many chances to grab the half-pendant, but she still missed it. Even Kristen from Polynesian Girl found her half-pendant and she passed it up too.

I was about to pick Sacred Ring because that run was a complete train wreck that was painful to watch, but Christina has to be the worst player in a triple capture (not the worst in season 2 though, that honor goes to Claude). She didn't know what she was doing and she sucked at the Observatory puzzle. All five runs I didn't discard were pretty bad.

Yeah, Christina wouldn't have won if she found the half-pendant. She had 1:07 left when her time ended in the King's Storeroom. Most likely, the run would've been like Icarus where the team was forced down into the Jester's Court. She might've reached the artifact at best.

BTW, Claude from Lost Lion Tail didn't end in triple capture. ;)
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst "Triple Capture" Run

Put simply, all but Missing Eye were bad. Either stupid mistakes were made, and/or easy half pendants were passed up. Most of the time, it was the latter. I mean, 3/6 of those runs featured players passing up half pendants. Isn't that kind of sad? I don't count Missing Eye of course, since nobody could really see the half pendant.

I voted for Carly and Brian from Napoleon for the Red Jaguars. They were a good team all day and they managed to reach their artifact during their run. I have no complaints about them or their performance. Besides, the other Red Jaguars team had at least one player that was pretty flawed.

I would've picked the Charles Lindbergh team if Kim wasn't such a dope in the temple (they were great before the temple run), but I also picked Napoleon because they showed more competence all around compared to the other teams.

I voted for Ben and Renee from Nzinga as the worst Red Jaguars team. A lot of these teams from this list sucked, but they were the weakest ones out of the entire group. They were mediocre before the temple run, and sucked inside of the temple. Ben was slow and Renee missed an easy half-pendant. Plus, their layout was pretty easy too. I wanted to pick the Charles Lindbergh team because how bad Kim screwed up. But like PP319 said, theywere actually a really good team before the temple. Ben and Renee just sucked.

I voted for Missy and John from Annie Taylor as the best Blue Barracudas team.  :mrblue: I don't care if they made a comeback in the team game or the temple layout was kind of easy, they were an awesome team. After all, it was the first center of the temple win ever.  :mrblue: Tabitha and Brett were pretty dominant in their episode too, but the Dr. Livingstone layout was much easier and Brett still almost blew it.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best Blue Barracudas team

I also voted for John and Missy from Lucky Pillow. :mrblue: They were an amazing team and had an amazing temple run. :mrblue: I'll never understand why some people like Paula better than Missy, just because she moves a little faster and has an easier layout.

I voted for the Silk Sash team as the worst Blue Barracudas team. I know some people are going to vote Stone Head for Tony's piss poor performance in the temple, but Heather and Tony were actually a decent team before the temple run. They handled a very tough moat pretty well and swept the temple games. Although that temple run shouldn't have been that disastrous. -_- The Silk Sash team on the other hand was pretty mediocre all day. Jessie was not even across the moat yet when the first three teams crossed, they didn't look good in the temple games, and they were clueless in the temple. Stephen would've saved himself a lot of time and backtracking if he put the stone column together correctly. In the end, I thought the Silk Sash team was consistently weaker than the Stone Head team.

I also voted for Jessie and Stephen from Silk Sash. Like TRJ said, at least Heather and Tony were strong pre temple, but the Silk Sash team sucked all day.

I voted for Robert and Olivia-Emma from Applewood Amulet as the best Green Monkeys team.  They were a strong team all day and finished first in all of their rounds. Olivia-Emma was especially dominant all day. And they handled their layout just fine even if it was a little simple. And I thought Olivia-Emma's exit was very solid. Try to take notes, Ron, Jason, and Kimberly.

I voted for Jessica and Justin from Cosa Rara. This team was really forgettable and Jessica was mediocre in this episode. Especially during the temple run where she moved so slow and only added one room of progress. I am not a fan of this team and that is because Jessica ruins it.  :? I wanted to vote for Jason and April from Icarus at first, but Jason was better than Jessica despite failing miserably. And the Icarus team was very memorable compared to Cosa Rara.

I placed my vote for Paula and Matt because they are the best team ever for making a comeback in the moat and temple games, and for the great temple win.  :mrorange:  :mrorange:  :mrorange:  :mrorange:  </Youtube>

Just kidding, the Butch Cassidy team was not even that good. My vote came down to two teams: Atocha and Nostradamus. I voted for Ty and Jennifer over Nostradamus because I thought they were a slightly better team. They were good in all of their earlier rounds and Ty owned the temple run. Actually, he owned everything in general.  :mrorange: Jason and Elizabeth were a solid team also, but I thought the Atocha team was slightly stronger.

Yeah, I voted for Paula and Matt too. Because they were the "Comeback Kids" and Paula was fast moving through every room. So boom, she's a better player than Missy. What a wonderful temple run that was. :o :mrorange:

Just kidding, I voted for Jason and Elizabeth from Nostradamus. I just felt like they were stronger than Ty and Jennifer. And I just liked that run better.

Ty and Jennifer from Atocha win the best Orange Iguanas team award.  :mrorange: Although I wouldn't have mind if Jason and Elizabeth won it either.  :mrorange:

Next up is the worst Orange Iguanas team.

This was a tough choice. I voted for the Grandy Nanny team because they really weren't that great of a team. Even though they swept the temple games, their temple performance was pathetic. They were running in the wrong directions and looked really clueless. How they even swept the temple games is still a mystery. I wanted to vote for Harriet Tubman, but this Orange Iguanas team was not too bad before the temple and at least Chris performed pretty well.

For me, it was between Grandy Nanny and Cracked Crown. Both teams weren't that good, but I picked Grandy Nanny because at least Josh from Cracked Crown was decent. The Grandy Nanny team was all around bad.

I personally voted for Kerry and Josh from Cracked Crown. Yes the Grandy Nanny kids sucked, but I just hate Cracked Crown even more.

And that is it for the worst Orange Iguanas team. Amber and Jonathan win this one, with Cracked Crown close behind them. I really wanted to vote for Cracked Crown, but Josh was actually good in that episode. But I hate that episode so much.

Next up is the best Purple Parrots team. This will also be the only time this team has more than two choices too out of all three seasons.  :mrpurple:

I went with the team that owned everything: Snakeskin Boots. While Freydis and Annie Oakley were great too, I just feel that the Snakeskin Boots team was a little more dominant throughout their episode.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best Purple Parrots team
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 10, 2014, 10:37:55 PM
Wow, this is a hard decision. There were three good teams on this list that all deserve this title: Annie Oakley, Billy the Kid, and Freydis.   I had to take Annie Oakley out of the picture though because the team lost in the temple which was partly their fault. In the end, I chose Tarrah and Chris from Freydis. They just barely edged out Billy the Kid for me. This Purple Parrots team was strong all day, and Tarrah was strong in the temple. It felt like they were the underdog team all day and the temple win was a solid performance. Tarrah really was a trooper for winning. I thought Kelly and Tony were really strong too, but Tarrah's temple win beat out their win. All three of these teams were great though.  :mrpurple:
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best Purple Parrots team
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on March 11, 2014, 01:24:55 PM
This to me, was an easy decision. I knew before I even looked at this topic what I was going to vote for.

I voted for Billy the Kid. Why? Because Kelly and Tony were a dominant team ALL DAY. They were first in the moat, swept the Steps of Knowledge, won 2 pendants in the temple games, and won with 5 seconds left on the clock. They are literally the only team on this show to accomplish all of that stuff. And their temple run was amazing. Kelly and Tony blazed through the whole temple like it was nothing. That to me, makes this the easiest decision in this entire thread/award poll. Freydis doesn't get my vote because Tarrah and Chris were 4th in the moat, and Tarrah moved a little too slow in the temple. And taking one wrong turn made me think they just don't deserve my vote. Lucky there wasn't a temple guard in there. And Leopard Skin Cloak is instantly off my radar. Not taking shortcuts and needlessly placing the King's Storeroom key in an awkard spot doesn't deserve my vote either. This vote was a no brainer.

And I'm not trying to be mean, but really weren't that many strong Purple Parrot teams. There were only three teams (that I can think of) that dominated every round. The Blue Barracudas however, had almost every single team dominate every round. And they didn't even win at all in Season 3. So which team can we all say "nobody else can say they dominated this or that...." when talking about pre temple rounds? I hope you understand what I'm saying. :|

Kelly and Tony win the best Purple Parrots title. Which is only fitting, because they were Purple Parrot Pwnage all the way through their episode.  ;)  :mrpurple:

Next up is the worst Purple Parrot team.

I voted for Claude and Marie from Lost Lion Tail. This team was not that good at all and basically got a free pass to the temple. And then they turn around and blow their load. Really though, Claude was the really pathetic one on this team. He did crap in this episode and Marie carried this team. Brian and Gracelyn were another sucky team, but at least they earned their trip to the temple. Claude and Marie pretty much backed into the temple.

Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best Silver Snakes team
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 11, 2014, 11:35:35 PM
I know this might not be a popular opinion, but I voted for Joel and Dorothy from Enormous Iron Nose Ring as the best Silver Snakes team. Even if the temple run was a little overrated and flawed, this Silver Snakes team was strong all day. First in the moat, first in the Steps, pretty good temple game performance, and they finished with a fast win. Joel was a monster all day too and dominated this whole episode. And his speed in the temple was incredible too. And I honestly don't really have a problem with him aside from people gushing over this win. Henry Morgan and Priceless Portrait's teams were good, but they should've won in the temple. I would've picked one of them if they actually won. The Nose Ring team actually won, which is why they got my vote.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best Silver Snakes team

These polls are going by too fast. Seriously, I think only 3 people have voted in the last few polls. :|

Anyway, I picked the Henry Morgan team. It was tough, but I think they were better all around.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best Silver Snakes team

Yeah no offense, but can you please slow down these polls? I think you're long since done with "making up for lost time" for some of the days you missed. :|

And I voted for Henry Morgan. To me, they were a MUCH better team than Joel and Dorothy, who I always found overrated. Picking them just because they won is a little unfair to me. I just think Shem and Ashley are a better team and deserve more recognition, ladder climbing or not.
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best Silver Snakes team
Post by: The Red Jaguars on March 12, 2014, 07:41:48 PM
Actually, 4-5 people at least voted in every poll. Which seems to be the usual amount of votes that each of these polls get. I never end these polls after only 2-3 people vote in them unless a certain time window has passed. I agree that I have been speeding up these polls a little too much, but I am also aware of the regulars that vote in them. Regardless, I will go back to making one poll a day when Season 3 comes around. ;)

Anyways, it looks like Shem and Ashley from Henry Morgan win the best Silver Snakes title.  :mrsilver:

Next up is the worst Silver Snakes team title.

I gave Christina and James from Nathan Hale my vote for the worst Silver Snakes team. James was good in this episode, but Christina sucked ass. Especially for the way that temple run ended. They should've easily avoided triple capture, but instead we get a player that completely overlooks the most obvious half-pendant ever even after it was hinted out in different ways.

We are going to revisit this topic and do the same thing for this season like we did for Season 1. That is, go through every team and vote for the best/worst male and female of every team. ;)

First up is the best male player of Season 2 for the Red Jaguars.  :jaguars2:  :mrred:

I voted for Nick from Charles Lindbergh as the best guy from Season 2. He was easily the best male player out of this list. He was also very quick in the temple and created a nice path for his partner. It was Kim that ruined it all.  :x

I voted for Benjamin from Nzinga as the worst male. Even though his partner blew the temple run, Ben wasn't that great of a contestant. He moved at an average pace along the temple and didn't make that great time. Even Marie made better time than him and she gets criticized a lot. There is just nothing remarkable about Ben.

I have a question:

Are we going through this by team or by gender?

So like, best/worst red male, best/worst red female, best/worst blue male, etc?
Or best/worst red male, best/worst blue male, etc?
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst Male Player (Red Jaguars)

I'm not sure actually. I depends on the order TRJ/Stone Marker feels like doing it in. I'm pretty sure it goes "best/worst male player" and then "best/worst female player." But I don't know, it's hard to keep track of.

I think I am going to do it this way from now on. I was going to do all best/worst male first for each team, but then move onto the females. But I think it is easier if I cover the best/worst genders for both teams. It is much easier for me to update. So tomorrow is going to be the best Red Jaguars female player. ;)

Look at this list, all of these Red Jaguars girls except Carly failed in some way,  This was an easy choice, I voted for Kim from Charles Lindbergh. She was easily the worst player on this list AND in Season 2. She failed miserably with her temple performance and basically only added one room a progress with 2 minutes to herself. We would've had a Dark Forest win if Kim wasn't a lost cause. -__________________________-

Another Carly vote.

Side note: when we're finished with the individual awards for all three seasons, we should combine them to crown all time best male/female players for each team. And then eventually work our way up to determining the single best player of all time. Just an idea.

Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best Male Player (Silver Snakes)

The Silver Snakes award is ready now. I voted for Shem as the best male player because he was just awesome in this episode. He dominated this entire episode, and he was wicked fast in the temple. I know he missed the Mandarin Hand door from the King's Storeroom, but would've had mattered anyways? It would've been an Icarus ending anyways. And he completed the Observatory in like 5 seconds. While I don't have a problem with Joel, I couldn't vote for him because of taking too long with the Silver Monkey and pulling a Ron. Those mistakes would've cost him a win in any hard layout. He was a great contestant, but Shem deserves it more. ;)  :mrsilver:

The worst Silver Snakes male will be hard.

Wow, I literally don't think any of these males deserve this award. :o Seriously, there is nothing bad about any of them and they were all fast. In the end though, I chose the only temple victor on this list: Joel. Why Joel? Because he was the most flawed player on this list. He took too long with the Silver Monkey and he pulled a Ron in the temple. No way would he get away with this in most other layouts. Also, if he had any of these other Silver Snakes layout, he wouldn't finish with the same amount that he did in his Nose Ring run.

I was going to vote for James or Jim, but I don't think it is fair to vote for someone who lasts three rooms in the temple. :?
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Worst Male Player (Silver Snakes)

Honestly, I voted for James. He was MUCH better than Christina, but he was completely unremarkable in every sense of the word. At least Joel has something going for him, his easy layout and all the mistakes he made. But I honestly forget James was even a contestant at all. I think it is fair to vote for him. I'm sorry, but James deserves the vote much more than Joel does. He IS a bit overrated, yes. But not the worst Silver Snake player (out of this poll of course) by any means.

I went with Polynesian Girl's Kristen as the best Silver Snakes girl. It was either her or Ashley from Henry Morgan. I chose Kristen though because she was the first player to ever grab a bottom of the central shaft artifact. I know she was slow at the beginning of the run, but she really picked her pace up at the end and almost pulled off a win. Ashley was good too, but she also blew a run with a layout similar to Annie Taylor. Both players were great, but I want to give it to Kristen. ;)  :mrsilver:

He must've thought he was voting for worst male Purple Parrot for season 2. If so, then it's okay. Honest mistakes happen. ;)

My vote went to Tony. No question, he was the best. :mrpurple:

Chris from the Freydis episode was great too, but he never entered the temple. Gotta go with Tony.

Yeah, I am guessing the Brian vote was a mistake. He might've thought that this was the worst Purple Parrot player. It is kind of confusing when you have two topics going on at once. ;)

I would like to vote for Tony for best.

Whatever, this place has been moving way too fast lately. I just can't keep up with any of these posts. I'm too slow.

And TRJ, I didn't mean to ruin your thread. I don't want you to be angry with me for callously criticizing someones posts. I know I sound mean and unlikeable at times, but that doesn't mean I don't care. I just don't want people here to take my posts the wrong way. And I don't want people to feel like I'm mocking or making fun of their posts. I'm sorry you guys. :(

Please accept my apology TRJ. Like you do with literally everyone else. :(

*Billy the Kid, not Stone Head.   :mrpurple:

And I voted for Claude from Lost Lion Tail as the worst male player. His team didn't even deserve to go to the temple in the first place, and yet he still fucks everything up by moving slow and getting lost in the Mine Shaft. -_- I don't know what Kirk was smoking when he kept calling Claude a power forward.

Brian from Sultan Suleiman sucked too for being the main reason why his team ended in triple capture. But if the triple capture didn't happen, he would've been an okay player at best. Claude didn't even know what he was doing the second he set foot in the temple.

That production day was not very kind to the Purple Parrots. It was the first time they made it to the temple that season and they still screwed up bad. Brian was pretty crappy because he is the real reason his run ended in triple capture. Claude is still worse though in my eyes though. I wish him and Brian's runs switched outcome so Claude's run ended in triple capture and not Brian's.

I voted for Gracelyn from Sultan Suleiman as the worst Purple Parrots girl.  Even though I blame Brian for the triple capture, Gracelyn still should've found that half-pendant. And she moved slow anyways. I know some people might vote for Aqila, but she really wasn't that bad until the last 3 seconds of her run. Gracelyn sucked the second she entered the temple.

I voted for Tarrah from Freydis as the best Purple Parrot girl.  :mrpurple: No matter what people say about her layout and performance, she did a solid job in the temple. I don't see anything wrong with her aside from the Secret Password detour. She handled her layout just fine and gets an extra point from recovering from her nasty fall in the Pit and still pulling off the win. And she is miles better than Jennifer from Buddha. ;)  :mrpurple:

Tough choice, because there are a few girls I would like to vote for. I went with Angela from Mush Pot Hat as the best Orange Iguana female. Kidding of course, I always voted for Angela. She was a pretty good player, even if she didn't actually win. I would've voted for Ashlie from Dolley Madison, but she made way more mistakes than Angela did. So Angela gets an easy vote from me. :mrorange:

There were two outstanding male players on this list: Ty and Jason.  I voted for Ty from Lucky Medallion as the best male player. He was a beast all day in his episode and dominated every round. And he was simply amazing in his temple run. I like how after he lost his Pendant of Life, he recovered quickly from it and dominated the rest of the run. A perfect example of a "down, but not out" contestant.  :mrorange: Jason was great too, but I thought Ty was more memorable and stronger. ;)

You didn't vote for Matt?! He was so fast crossing the moat, and he swept the steps. He helped his team win the temple!

All kidding aside, I also voted for Ty. He was a little more stronger of a player than Jason was. ;)

Of course, how could I forget Matt! I mean it is like no one else swept the Steps before him. And Ty was lucky that he got his Pendant of Life back and any idiot would've used the Dog Leash to get the rope.  :mrorange:

Just kidding too. ;) Jason was another great player, but he did struggle a little bit in his temple game. Ty was slightly more dominant than Jason, which is why he got my vote.  :mrorange:
Title: Re: LoTHT Awards - Season 2 Edition: Best Male Player (Orange Iguanas)
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on May 18, 2014, 04:54:00 PM
Yeah, Jason did struggle in his temple game. But then again, those ceiling temple games were always so poorly coordinated anyways. Ty on the other hand, was a BEAST in his wall climbing temple game. He scaled the whole middle wall, and finished the game before the Red Jaguar boy could even get halfway up. :o But yeah, I also voted for Ty because he was a stronger, and more dominant player. Even though I do like the Nostradamus run slightly more. Fast moving in the moat and sweeping the steps be damned. ;)

I really was torn between my vote, but I had to vote for Shane from Ahmed Baba. While I don't think he was amazing, he is probably the most noteworthy contestant on the list. Even though it was a bad idea to take a long path, he still got the job done and completed most of his rooms at a steady pace. I wanted to vote for Justin from Cosa Rara, but he was both forgettable and took a direct path that meant a longer route. Robert  was good too, but he only lasted 4 rooms.

I personally voted for Justin from Cosa Rara. Direct path aside, he was extremely fast and made it all the way to his sixth room with 1:47 left on the clock. All while scaling the whole central shaft. Shane would be my second choice, even though I don't think highly of him.

Voted for Shane because he managed to complete all but 3 rooms in the temple and still win. Had someone like Tarrah taken the path that he took, she wouldn't have won. I also feel bad for Shane because alot of people give him crap for getting lucky with his temple guard placement. He did an awesome job in my opinion.

This. That's exactly why I too voted for Shane. He gets too much flack for taking the direct path when in reality he did a mighty fine job with every room aside from the Shrine of the Silver Monkey (I can let that slide though since he wasn't the only one who struggled with it). He deserves more love.

Tarrah would've won in the Ahmed Baba layout too. Her path in the Freydis run was almost identical to Ahmed Baba, except for not taking the corner rooms of the temple. Plus, the Ahmed Baba run had the Swamp and not the Jester's Court. So she would've saved time there. If she took the long way with Shane's layout, she might've grabbed the Turban with slightly less time. But with the Troubled Bridge around in Ahmed Baba's layout, she wouldn't have lost any time in the Pit like she did in the Freydis run. The Freydis run was slightly tougher than the Ahmed Baba run.

But yeah, I only voted for Shane because he was the most notable of the three. Robert only lasted four rooms, and Olivia-Emma was the star of that layout. Justin was a beast and definitely faster than Shane, but he is so forgettable. Shane at least handled most of the rooms of his layout just fine. It wasn't the best effort, but it got the job done. Still not a big fan of him, but I think he is the best guy on this list for the Green Monkeys. ;)

Still not a big fan of him, but I think he is the best guy on this list for the Green Monkeys. ;)
I forgot that Ahmed Baba had the Troubled Bridge   I seriously need to rewatch episodes  :P

I hear that. There's a LOT to try and keep track of. Sometimes if I have an issue remembering the specifics of something I just consult the episode reviews on here :)

Shane doesn't deserve any love. He deserves all the criticism he gets. All this overrating makes  me hate him even more.

I STILL don't get the love for Ahmed Baba. I STILL don't get it. Shane was average, boring, and just plain overrated. He deserves the criticism he gets. He deserves to be criticized for all eternity and I'll never, ever like him. The more overpraised he gets, the more and more I hate him. Shane is by far the most overrated contestant in the history of the show. I hate Shane, he is extremely overrated and nothing special at all. He was slow, hesitant, and downright clueless at times.

I guess I'm literally the only person on the whole, entire forum that doesn't like Shane. I guess I really am alone on all my opinions.

Honestly, none of the male Green Monkeys really stand out from S2. The best GM from that season was Olivia Emma.

Yeah, Olivia Emma is the star of all the Green Monkeys from Season 2. But none of the guys stand out that much at all. Especially not Mr. Overrated Shane. I still just don't get it. Even the very first time I saw the temple run, I was just not impressed at all. I think I might even hate Tall Turban more than I do of other maligned wins on the show. Like I said, the more people praise Shane, the more I hate him. He deserves all the criticism he gets. But I guess I'm the only one who doesn't like Shane. But, that's already been discussed.

You don't have to just agree with everyone just for the sake of agreeing or adhering to some standard.

Plus look at the poll. It was almost a THREE way tie. This one is FAR from decisive. In fact if you or I switched our vote it would force a tie.

Plus, a lot of voters here are getting their wish anyways. Shane is gonna win the whole thing. But I'm still keeping my vote because not only do I like Justin A LOT better, but I doubt anyone wants to go through the hassle of breaking a tie. To me, scaling the whole central shaft and STILL having 1:47 left on the clock at the time of capture, is much more impressive than a contestant who lucks into his layout, yet other players enter 9 rooms, (Chandra, James from Ponce de Leon), and get taken out one room away.

Not a lot, three. Out of seven voters. So to put it another way not even a majority of voters feel that Shane is better.

I don't think Shane is overrated. If he was overrated, the poll wouldn't be as close as it is. No one said that he was amazing or anything like that. If Chandra or James hadn't gotten taken out one room away and scored a solo victory would you hate them? They made the same mistakes that Shane did and ended up making things worse for their team, but they aren't ridiculed, so why hate Shane just because he got lucky with his layout and because people thought he was decent?

Seriously PPF, get off Shane's ass. He didn't do anything to you, so why such hostility towards him? In fact, you've complained about him so much that he is now one of my favorite players ever. I already liked him to begin with, but you've given me more of a reason to like him. Go Shane!

Really though, shut the fuck up. Your countless complaints about Shane has gotten really old. You know how much I'm not a fan of Galileo's Cannonball, but I rarely complain about it. The only time I did was in that match GM1 posted not too long ago and that was it. I've gotten over it and I really don't mind that episode, so why do you keep bashing Shane? I've honestly had enough of this shit. Get over it and move on.

Sorry if I sounded like Renegade Pancake/The Mandarin Hand (a user from the past), but PPF had it coming with that attitude. Something has to give and I'm not putting up with this nonsense anymore. Sorry.

I definitely agree that the hostility toward Shane was a little over the top. But I also felt like your reaction to that was over the top as well. Definitely not trying to call anyone out here. I love this forum and I know I'm also the new guy and it's not really my place, but I just want us all to be able to get along and to be able to express our opinions in a respectful and non-hostile manner.

Most of these boys made some kind of mistake in the temple, but I voted for Brett from Dr. Livingstone as the best male player. He was the only player that actually got the job done in his run. Even if he moved at a slow pace and entered every room unnecessarily, he still won it all. That is more than what these guys can say. So my vote is going to Brett.  ;)

I really really really really wanted to vote for John.

But he didn't even have to enter the Temple. And even though he had a couple decisive moments for his team, he wasn't quite as important to his team as Brett was to his. So had to give the nod to Brett.

I voted for Tony from Stone Head as the worst Blue Barracudas player. This guy sucked ass in the temple. While I do believe that four snakes Medusa's Lair was brutal, that doesn't mean you have to spend over a minute in the room. And he looked like a moron in the King's Storeroom too. This was a disappointing run, especially after how strong Heather and Tony were before the temple. :?

I voted for Jessie from Silk Sash. While she didn't last long in her episode, she wasn't that great player in her episode. She was horrible in the moat and was mediocre all day. I hate the Silk Sash run.
