Title: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 12 - Dark Forest
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 23, 2013, 02:29:13 PM
I just wanted to make another small series of polls to get your feedback. Let's assume Legends ran for another season after S3, which would've meant new rooms in the temple along with some old rooms also. I am going to make a poll everyday and see whether you guys wanted to see each of the rooms from S3 should make a return to a later season temple or not. This poll is purely based on your personal opinion.

RESULTS:
Day 1 - Crypt: Yes (5), No (0)
Day 2 - Tomb of the Headless Kings: No (6), Yes (0)
Day 3 - King's Storeroom: No (3), Yes (2)
Day 4 - Room of the Ancient Warriors Yes (6), No (0)
Day 5 - Quicksand Bog: No (5), Yes (1)
Day 6 - Shrine of the Silver Monkey: Yes (6), No
Day 7 - Pit of the Pendulum: No (4), Yes (0)
Day 8 - Room of the Secret Password: No (4), Yes (1)
Day 9 - Ledges:  Yes (6), No (0)
Day 10 - Jester's Court: Yes (3), No (3)
Day 11 - Chamber of the Sacred Markers: Yes (3), No (2)
Day 12 - Dark Forest: Yes (4), No (1)

We will start off with the Crypt. Would you have liked the see the Crypt return? I will post my opinion in the next post. ;)

I personally would've liked to see the Crypt return for a new season. I am sure the producers would've came up with a bunch of new ideas for this room space, but I liked the Crypt and thought it was very memorable. The props used were creepy and the skeletons lines were awesome. They definitely should keep the Crypt.

Gotta say yes here as well. The Crypt was a neat room, much better than the Gargoyle and Royal Gong room.

Weird. Wasn't this same topic posted like two days ago before it unexpectedly got deleted? :|

Anyway, I voted for yes. The Crypt is a great entrance room. It's memorable and the props used for this room were great. How can you go wrong with "Get out of here!" and "Let go!"?

Yeah, I accidentally deleted that topic a couple of days ago when I meant to remove the poll. I was too lazy to recreate it yesterday, so I remade it today.  :mrred:

Basically, I am going to cover all the S3 rooms in a random order.  :mryellow:

Don't forget the list of Season 3 rooms you posted in that OP too. ;)

I think the general consensus is that the Crypt should make a return in S3, with a unanimous score of 5-0.

Next room up is the Tomb of the Headless Kings. ;)
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 2 - Headless Kings
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 24, 2013, 02:23:04 PM
I voted no for the Tomb of the Headless Kings to return in S3. Out of all the rooms in S3, this was my least favorite room. It had a unique objective and everything, but this wasn't a very good room at all. The room was pretty dark and time consuming, not to mention it was very cramped. It was so hard for the contestants to move around and the room was so dark it makes you wonder how some of them even found the skull. Plus, it was annoying to see them pull on the same vines every 10 seconds too. The room was always heavily guarded anyways that you expect the teams to encounter a guard there. And the guard hiding place was lame too.

Out of all the rooms in S3, this one is the one I wanted to see get the boot.

No. The Tomb was the most time consuming room in Season 3. I just didn't like it.

Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on May 24, 2013, 03:31:22 PM
If any room were to be changed from Season 3, the Tomb of the Headless Kings would probably be my choice. As already mentioned, it was dark and cramped room, as well as a long objective.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 2 - Headless Kings
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on May 24, 2013, 03:59:38 PM
Another no from me too. Too dark, cramped, and I hated how some kids would pull on the same vine over and over again.

In its current state, the Tomb should not have returned.  If they'd cut the amount of ropes to pull or the amount of kings in the room to only ONE, then it might have squeezed by to the next season had the show been renewed.  But as it was, the room was way too time-consuming.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 2 - Headless Kings
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 25, 2013, 01:36:04 PM
I think this is a good time to move on now. With that in mind, it looks like it is a unianimous vote that the Tomb of the Headless Kings should NOT return.

Next one up is the King's Storeroom.  ;)
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 3 - King's Storeroom
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 25, 2013, 01:40:40 PM
This was a tough decision, but I voted no for the return of the King's Storeroom. I loved the King's Storeroom and it was definitely one of my most favorite rooms on the show. However, I was not a big fan of the S3 version though. The S2 version of the room was great due to the contestants having to break the pots themselves. I didn't like the way they had to break the pots in S3, even if it was more efficient and made more sense. Plus, the pots in S2 were more creative and had cool designs. I found the S2 version of this room to be more memorable anyways. I also didn't really like where they moved the room to in S3 either. I would rather they bring the Observatory back with another new objective than bring the King's Storeroom back.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 3 - King's Storeroom
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on May 25, 2013, 02:41:17 PM
I liked the Season 3 King's Storeroom because it provided a neat objective, but was more contained than the Season 2 version. I also enjoyed the sound effect of the pots smashing. The only thing that I didn't really like about the King's Storeroom was the camera's placement. We only saw the contestants' (and temple guards') backs, and when there was a guard in the room, the camera was often shaky as the guard was coming out from behind the door. Other than that, I really enjoyed the room and would have liked to see it return.

Fixed the :P smiley in the OP.

And I voted no as well. The King's Storeroom was a neat room and everything, but having too many repeated S2/S3 rooms would get boring after a while. Plus, like stated above, I liked Season 2's version better.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 3 - King's Storeroom
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 26, 2013, 03:23:11 PM
This poll was closer than the last two. But it looks like the general consensus is that the King's Storeroom should not return for another season.

Our next room is the Room of the Ancient Warriors.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 4 - Ancient Warriors
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 26, 2013, 03:28:06 PM
The poll is now set up. As for the Room of the Ancient Warriors, I wouldn't mind seeing it return for a new season of Legends. It was a very unique room and very memorable on top of that. The room was not very challenging nor was it to time consuming. The only annoying part was when the contestants placed themselves in armor when the door was already open. But that was more of a contestant stupidity than a room flaw. Plus, I like the unique temple guard encounters from this room also. The only thing I would change was to make the room a little less cramped and possibly bring the ladders back for the room below. But other than that, I like this room and would like to give it another chance.  :mrblue:
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 4 - Ancient Warriors
Post by: The Bandit King on May 26, 2013, 03:44:10 PM
I also voted yes. The room wasn't that time-consuming, and it was always suspenseful to see if one of the suits of armor housed a Temple Guard. I wouldn't have minded it coming back at all.

I also vote yes, I liked this room.

I would have liked to see the Ancient Warriors return. I really enjoyed the room, but a reintroduction of the ladder leading downstairs would have been nice.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 4 - Ancient Warriors
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 27, 2013, 12:05:41 PM
And I think this is a good stopping point for the Ancient Warriors. With a unanimous score of 6-0, it looks like everyone wants to see this room another season.

Next one up is the Quicksand Bog.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 5 - Quicksand Bog
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 27, 2013, 12:10:38 PM
I voted no for the return of the Quicksand Bog for a new season. I liked this room and it was much better than the lame elevator rooms like the Mine Shaft and Well. However, I didn't really care for this room compared to the other S3 rooms. It was just too tough to move around in. I know that was the whole premise for the room and everything, but it just didn't seem to work. I'm also not a fan of the color scheme either. And the Pharaoh's Secret Passage honestly stuck out like a sore thumb also. It was a good room, but I'd rather see a new room or objective in this space.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 5 - Quicksand Bog
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on May 27, 2013, 03:52:52 PM
Yeah, gotta say no as well. It was a better room than say, the Well and the Mine Shaft, but time for a different room in that space.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 5 - Quicksand Bog
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 28, 2013, 02:30:36 PM
While not a unanimous vote, the general consensus for the Quicksand Bog is to not give it another chance at a new season.

Next up is the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.  :mrsilver:
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 6 - Silver Monkey
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 28, 2013, 02:34:20 PM
Should the Silver Monkey return to the show for another season? Yes, yes, yes.  :mrsilver: I don't care if the show lasted for another ten seasons, the Shrine will always be in the temple. Another season of the Shrine meant more awesome assemblies, more challenged kids trying to assemble the Silver Monkey, and more confusion and frustration for everyone. It would be preferable too if they didn't change anything either about it. After all, it was the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. How could you hate it?  :mrsilver:

This. Just everything you said above. :mrsilver: The Shrine was meant to stay in the temple for the entirety of the show. It would've been a huge mistake to replace it. Another yes from me too. :mrsilver:

A better question might be "What room could possibly take the Shrine's place if they were stupid enough to get rid of it?"

Of COURSE it should have come back!
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 6 - Silver Monkey
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 29, 2013, 02:06:14 PM
And just like it should be, the Shrine of the Silver Monkey receives a unanimous vote to come back for the next season!  :mrsilver:

Next room that we will cover is the Pit of the Pendulum. ;)
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 7 - Pit of the Pendulum
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 29, 2013, 02:12:14 PM
I voted no for the return of the Pit of the Pendulum for another season. This was probably the best variation of the Pit on the show and also pretty memorable too. I liked it a lot because it felt like an actual objective that needed to be complete unlike the previous Pits where the player just had to use an actuator. However, after being used for the whole S3, I think it is time to make a new Pit for another season. Nothing wrong with the Pit of the Pendulum, but it is one of the "main rooms" of the temple where it is always entered and you get kind of tired of it after 40 episodes. Plus, the layout was kind of unfair to some teams who were forced into the bottom of the Pit and had to push the column down by their hand then climb the wall again. I would rather see a new Pit than see this one again. It was a good room, but it's time for it to go.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 7 - Pit of the Pendulum

I voted no as well. It was time for the Pit of the Pendulum to go.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 7 - Pit of the Pendulum

And it looks like the Pit of the Pendulum is not welcomed back to the temple next season. It shall join the ranks over the other rooms destined to not come back.

And our next room is the Room of the Secret Password. ;)
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 8 - Secret Password
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 30, 2013, 02:04:55 PM
I have mixed feelings about the Room of the Secret Password. On one hand, it was a very memorable room and the best room that was featured in that room space. On the other hand though, the room was hardly ever entered it seemed like, even in S3. I like the unique objective and how the contestants had to say something while they were in the temple. But the room objective was hardly ever completed, even when it was forced to be completed in S3. I'd rather they replace this room than bring it back. So I vote no for the Room of the Secret Password. I liked this room a lot, but it was time for it to move on.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 8 - Secret Password
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on May 30, 2013, 03:01:11 PM
The Room of the Secret Password was definitely the best use of the top corner space. The objective (usually) needed to be completed in order to open up the next door, regardless of the direction the team was going, and the objective itself was creative without being terribly difficult. However, I think it would have been nice to retire the Secret Password since it was used at the end of Season 2 an throughout all of Season 3.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 8 - Secret Password
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on May 30, 2013, 04:17:59 PM
Guess I'm the only one to say yes. I liked that room, it was much better than the Viper's Nest or the Lightning Room where you could just mosey on over to the elevator instead of complete the objective.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 8 - Secret Password
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 31, 2013, 01:05:24 PM
I will move onto our next room now. The general consensus for the Room of the Secret Password is for it to not return for a new season.

And the next room is the Ledges.  ;)
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 9 - Ledges
Post by: The Red Jaguars on May 31, 2013, 01:09:25 PM
Even though part of me wants to see the Ledges replaced in a new season, I still voted yes for the return of this room. It was a pretty memorable temple room and even if they replaced it, it would've probably been replaced by something much similar to it anyways. If that's the case, they might as well keep the Ledges and maybe alter the room slightly. Other than that, I have no real problem with the room. It was much better than the Cave of Sighs too, even though the room was hardly used in S3.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 9 - Ledges

I also say yes, it was a much better room than the Cave of Sighs.

And the Ledges receives a unanimous vote to return for a new season!

Next one up is the Jester's Court.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 10 - Jester's Court
Post by: The Red Jaguars on June 01, 2013, 02:14:30 PM
This was my hardest decision yet on whether a certain room should return or not. Ultimately, I voted no for the return of the Jester's Court. I love the Jester's Court and it was one of the best rooms to appear on the show. The design of the room was great from the wall paintings to the unique objective. Also, I liked how there was never any temple guards in this room. And it was better than any of the Swamp variation rooms also. However, I think they should retire the Jester's Court and not bring it back for a new season. To me, this room seemed to be a little glitchy sometimes. A great example is in "Empress Eugenie" where Jay seemingly completed the objective and was forced to complete it again. Or how some runs like "Queen Boadicea" and "Enormous Feather" had the lights not working properly. Plus, the room was never really fair to the short contestants either. And it always seemed like it was the middle painting that worked anyways.

So yeah, I like this room a lot, but I would rather see a new room in this space if another season were to happen. Plus, when rooms hang around the temple too much, you start growing tired of some of them. This room had some production problems anyways, so I'd rather see it go even though it was pretty memorable.

Post by: PurpleParrot319 on June 01, 2013, 07:46:11 PM
Yes, the Jesters' Court should return and I'm surprised some people don't want it to come back. This is a room that deserved to stay an extra season at least. Sure, it had its problems with some paintings not working when all three buttons were pressed (like in Good-Luck Watch) and the room being a little too dark at times (like in Royal Torque), but those are problems that can be fixed easily if given another season. It was a great room with a great objective and I loved the overall atmosphere and design of this room. Plus, I liked that this was a safe spot from temple guards. That was a nice feature. It was a good indicator of player competence (Casey, I'm looking at you  ).

This room just had to come back if there was a fourth season and if it did, I'd make sure the middle painting didn't always open a door. Do that and fix the glitches, then this room would have its best season.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 10 - Jester's Court
Post by: The Red Jaguars on June 02, 2013, 11:55:07 AM
Well, here's something different for once. :P The results for this poll are split between people that want to see the Jester's Court stay and people that want to see it go. I will just edit the results in as is for now and maybe think of a tiebreaker for later. ;)

And in the mean time, our next room is the Chamber of the Sacred Markers.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 11 - Sacred Markers
Post by: The Red Jaguars on June 02, 2013, 12:03:41 PM
The Chamber of the Sacred Markers was a unique room and a challenging one at that. Do I want to see this room come back though? I voted no on account that the room was too time consuming. The room did seem to consume a lot of time out of each player's run. I am not talking about players like Katie from "Lily-Crested Crown" who spent over a minute in the room. It seemed like it took most players 30-40 seconds to complete the room. It didn't help that the Markers blended into the wall of the room either. Compared to the other center of the temple rooms, the Chamber was the better of them. I like how they redesigned the whole room and got rid of the red wall paper. And the different temple guard encounters were nice also. But this room was too time consuming and it must've been tough for players to find some of those markers on the wall. I'd rather they use a different room in place of the Chamber.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 11 - Sacred Markers
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on June 02, 2013, 02:43:08 PM
I really liked the Chamber of the Sacred Markers, as it offered a unique and difficult challenge. Although the room was a bit time consuming, it was doable. The multiple temple guard locations within the room was also a nice revamp of the room. I would have liked to see the Chamber stay for another season.

I also liked the Chamber. Even though it was time-consuming, it could easily be balanced out by making some more rooms in the Temple less so. It should have stayed on for Season 4.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 11 - Sacred Markers
Post by: The Red Jaguars on June 03, 2013, 12:16:37 PM
I think we can move onto final room now. It looks like the Chamber of the Sacred Markers will make a return next season, with a close score of 3-2.

And our final room will be the Dark Forest.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 12 - Dark Forest
Post by: The Red Jaguars on June 03, 2013, 12:22:15 PM
I voted yes for the return of the Dark Forest. Next to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, this room felt like a staple part of the temple. Everything about this room was great from the creepy atmosphere to the Temple Spirits. You never knew whether a tree contained a Temple Spirit or not and I always liked the unique element on whether the players could reach into a tree or plow through the wall. Plus, this room wasn't challenging or time consuming at all, so that would be nice in a new temple. Even though this room has appeared in 80 episodes already, it is like a staple part of the show and I would love to give it another chance

Yeah, this went by fast. I only covered the rooms in the S3 temple though. I don't mind covering other rooms from prior seasons that you might think have a chance of returning, like the Laser Light Room or Observatory maybe?
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 12 - Dark Forest
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on June 03, 2013, 06:20:01 PM
It's up to you really, though the point of this thread was rooms returning after Season 3 only. Also, didn't you want to do a tiebreaker to determine whether or not the Jester's Court should've returned? Since that got a tie vote of 3-3 and all.
Title: Re: Should this room have returned for another season? Day 12 - Dark Forest
Post by: The Red Jaguars on June 04, 2013, 12:13:08 PM
And time is up for the Dark Forest! The general consensus for this room is to return for another season. I put the results for the Dark Forest in the first post. And with that room completed, we have finished all twelve rooms of the S3 temple! Thanks everyone for voting and putting in your feedback. Here is what everyone thinks about each of the rooms and whether they should return or not:

S3 Temple Rooms that Should Return:
Crypt (5-0 in favor of)
Room of the Ancient Warriors (6-0 in favor of)
Shrine of the Silver Monkey (6-0 in favor of)
Ledges (6-0 in favor of)
Chamber of the Sacred Markers (3-2 in favor of)
Dark Forest (4-1 in favor of)

Indifferent:
Jester's Court (3-3 tie)

S3 Temple Rooms that Should Not Return:
Tomb of the Headless Kings (6-0 against)
King's Storeroom (3-2 against)
Quicksand Bog (5-1 against)
Pit of the Pendulum (4-0 against)
Room of the Secret Password (4-1 against)
