Title: Rate the Legends Win - Day 32: Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress
Post by: The Red Jaguars on December 27, 2012, 12:00:58 AM
I am pretty much using the idea for the "Rate the Legends Room" thread for the basis of this thread. Anyways, like the temple room ratings, I will hold a daily poll dedicated to one temple win. The temple win chosen will be random and there will be no real basis for the decision. The poll will be open for 24 hours and once that time frame is up, all the votes will be averaged and the results will be posted. So please take a couple of seconds of your time to vote!

I gave the "Sforza" a score of a 5. It was a good earned temple win, but you can tell that the producers felt charitable towards Lacey and Asher and set the layout to where it was winnable. But still, both contestants were forced to ascend the entire central shaft, which was not easy in S3. But when you compared this to the other season three wins, it is just too simple. Lacey and Asher were good contestants though, and their enthusiasm added excitement to the run. But season three had so many quality runs that it is hard to place this at the top of the list. And I have to admit Lacey's screaming kind of got annoying too. Good win, but it was nothing too special.

I personally enjoy the "Jeweled Scabbard of Sforza" run. Even though the path was significantly easier than most other Season Three runs, Lacey and Asher's excitement really enhance this run. I find this episode very memorable, so I gave it a 7.

I gave this win a 5. Both Lacey and Asher were good, but the layout was generous. Still, they had to go up the column with some of the hardest objectives in the temple, so it's not too bad of a win.

I say a 6. This was quite an easy layout if you ask me. The team only needed to complete the Center Shaft to the Scabbard. Still a win is a win and Sforza is #16 in my ratings.

7. Solid win, and completing the entire central shaft in S3 was no easy task.

I give it a 7, completing the central shaft is no easy task, and I liked Lacey and Asher's enthusiasm. But, the producers were clearly charitable just because it was the final filming day.

By the way TRJ, are you done with the Legends Room's rating thread? Just wondering.

Can I change my vote to a 6? I feel like bumping the score up by one. I feel that a 5 might be too low.

I was actually going to give Sforza a 6 originally too. But looking at the other wins on my list, I had to bump down to a 5. Once upon a time though, it use to be one of my top 5 favorite wins. And PP319, I will count your vote as a 6.

And I am almost done with the "Rate the Legends Room" version. Still have less than a dozen rooms to cover. Which reminds me, I need to update that thread right now.

I would rate this a 6. It was a decent run, as simple as it was. The players weren't that quick, but at least they knew what to do.

Once again, the "votes can be changed" option has been enabled. So PP319 can change the vote himself.

I gave Nostradamus a score of an 8. I don't like many Orange Iguana episodes, but this is one of my favorites. It was very fun to watch and Elizabeth and Jason were a good team. There were some memorable moments about this win from Elizabeth's enthusiasm to Jason's clever use of the Dog Leash in the Pit of Despair. Even though I like Atocha a little better, these two did a good job even if their layout was simple. They earned their win.  :mrorange:

I give it an 8, solid win and my favorite Orange Iguanas victory next to Atocha.

I gave the Nostradamus run a 6 because I feel that this run was overplayed, and I got pretty sick of it even though it was a really good run. Using the Dog Leash to cross the Pit was a brilliant move, but the overall run seemed pretty simple and straight-forward.

This is worthy of an 8. This was a great run. Only Atocha is a better Orange Iguana run. Elizabeth and Jason were an enthusiastic team. And I loved how Jason uses the Dog Leash across the Pit. I have this win ranked #12.

I'll never understand PP4L. He gives an average run like Sforza a 7 while he gives Nostradamus, clearly the better run, a 6. This run was awesome! I gave it an 8.

Well, everyone has different preferences. After all, some people like THK have argued like "Map to the Lost Gold Mine" for being an average run when a lot of people like myself enjoy it. And for the record, a lot of people like the Sforza win. They just don't post much here anymore though. ;)

The only time I would be worried if "      " got a higher score than Nostradamus. ;)

I'll never understand PP4L. He gives an average run like Sforza a 7 while he gives Nostradamus, clearly the better run, a 6. This run was awesome! I gave it an 8.

I prefer Season Three runs because I found that the rooms were more challenging and the paths were more exciting (rather than monotonous, like what happened in many Season Two runs, which featured only minor differences between a few similar paths taken in several different episodes). The temple guards in Season Three were also more epic, especially since the Room of the Ancient Warriors, Dark Forest, and Chamber of the Sacred Markers all had multiple places where a guard could come out. The more ominous aura about the temple (the darker lighting, more fog, and such) also helped make Season Three runs more suspenseful and exciting.

As far as Sforza and Nostradamus go, I enjoy Sforza more. Even though the path was significantly simpler than most other Season Three runs, it still forced the team through the three most difficult and time consuming rooms. And the fact that this was the only time that this path was featured, it made it exciting. Lacey and Asher's energy throughout the whole episode also helped to make this win (and the whole episode) exciting and memorable. I also find the Sforza run to be memorable because it was played enough that I remember it but am still excited to watch it again, as opposed to the Nostradamus run, which I found was overplayed to the point where I got sick of seeing it. The Nostradamus path took the team into the Laser Light Room and across the top floor. This path and the temple guard placement (Laser Light and Mandarin Hand Room) were common to Season Two, so it wasn't as thrilling or unexpected. For me, the only really memorable part about the Nostradamus run that distinguishes it from any other run was Jason's using the Dog Leash to cross the Pit. While that was brilliant, I think that he still would have had enough time to get out of the temple, even if he had to jump into the Pit and escape via the Ledges.

Hopefully this will help you to understand me better. And if you would like to elaborate on why Nostradamus is "clearly the better run," I'll be happy to listen. Perhaps there is something about this run that I didn't catch. But until you explain your opinion, I have nothing to go on besides the opinions I currently hold about the episode.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 2: "The Levitating Dog Leash of Nostradamus"
Post by: PurpleParrot319 on December 28, 2012, 10:03:08 AM
To me, Nostradamus was more exciting than Sforza. The Nostradamus win felt more hard-fought than the Sforza win. When all you have to do is tackle the entire central column, it just seems like a cupcake layout. I didn't think the Nostradamus run was either too hard or too easy, but it was more exciting to me.

I could go on further, but I'd be wasting my time. It's not worth it due to differing opinions.

Just remember that the point of this topic is not to have the same general consensus for every win. Not every win is going to be scored the exact same number as someone else is going to vote. Down the road, there is going to be some wins with deviating scores since people have different preference. Just remember some people have different preferences and it is okay to debate, just as long as you are not saying someone else's vote is bad or what not. ;)

That's it for Nostradamus. It finishes with a score of 7.60.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 3: "The Belly Button of Buddha"
Post by: The Red Jaguars on December 29, 2012, 12:42:43 AM
I gave Buddha a score of a 4. It was not a very exciting temple run to watch at all. Jennifer was so slow that it was painful to watch. She seemed to know what she was doing, but she really could've speed it up a little bit. But then again, most season one wins had slow runners, so it wasn't surprising to see her move like a rock. She also got a lucky layout too when it came to temple guards. Had she been taken out on the top floor of the temple, then Damian wouldn't even have a chance to grab the Belly Button. The most surprising part is that she moved pretty fast when she grabbed the artifact. Why didn't she do that before she grabbed? It would've been a much better and more enjoyable win?

Overall, the win is not very exciting and Jennifer got pretty lucky with her layout. It will get a 4.

Again with the Fogg Ups. Tony, not Damien. ;)

And I give it a 6. Good effort by Jennifer, but it wasn't that exciting.

I gave it a 6 as well. Jennifer may not've been fastest or smartest in the Temple but at least she got to the Belly Button and then she sped up and won! This episode was interesting before the Temple and the Run was just an average Solo run. #11 on wins. Can't be top 10 worthy.

I gave Belly Button of Buddha a 5. It was a good run. Even though Jennifer seemed to move a little slowly, it wasn't unbearable.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 4: The Secret Map of the Bandit Queen
Post by: The Red Jaguars on December 30, 2012, 12:47:29 AM
I gave Bandit Queen a score of a 7. I know this is the most loved Silver Snake win, and for good reasons too, but I find it a little overrated. Miriam was so slow and hesitant in the temple. It makes you wonder if she was taken out any later, then this episode wouldn't have been a win. There is no reason that it should take 1:45 to complete the bottom floor of the temple. Luckily for her, Zac was amazingly fast and was able to get the Secret Map out in record time. His dash out of the temple was pretty exciting too. But the layout was pretty simple for S3 standards, and it was pretty much similar to "The Ruby Earring of Benzibab", except Annie and Kevin didn't have to complete the Room of the Secret Password. Regardless, it was a fairly solid win. But not as great as people make it out to be. There are also a couple of other Silver Snake runs I like better.

Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on December 30, 2012, 09:33:29 AM
I gave the Secret Map of the Bandit Queen a 7 also. The second half of the run was incredibly exciting, but the first half was very flat. Like TRJ mentioned, the path was rather short and simple, compared to most Season 3 runs. And as much as I enjoyed watched Zac blaze through the temple, it should be pointed out that this run required that Zac move as quickly as he did; otherwise, they would have run out of time.

Post by: PurpleParrot319 on December 30, 2012, 11:03:21 AM
Even though this is one of my favorite wins, I'm giving it a 7 as well. I would've given it a higher score if it wasn't for Miriam. The layout might have been a little simple, but I don't think that matters. Zac was amazing with the little time he had.

It's obviously a top 10 episode all because of Zac. Come on, the whole Temple in 1:18? No wonder why it was a record. It was also why Nick GaS aired this often.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 5: The Enormous Iron Nose Ring of Babe the Ox
Post by: The Red Jaguars on December 30, 2012, 11:54:33 PM
This was a hard vote for me, but I gave Enormous Iron Nose Ring a score of a 6. It was a good temple win, but not the "Best solo win" everyone seems to make it out to be. I was originally going to give the win a 5, but it was both memorable and Joel was pretty solid IMO. He absolutely destroyed the bottom floor of the temple. However, he had trouble assembling the monkey, a room where many other temple victors didn't struggle as much as he did. Plus, his exit plan was pretty bad and he could've beat Shaka Zulu's record if he stayed at the top. But this run is very memorable for me though for Joel's speed, no temple guard capture, and one of the earliest wins I ever saw. And as much as Joel struggled, he was a very fast guy. Not the win that everyone makes it out to be, but still respectable.  :mrsilver:

A respectable win. Not the best, but not the worst. I gave it a 6. Joel's speed was incredible, but his attempt at the Silver Monkey and his exit were bad.

Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on December 31, 2012, 12:27:19 AM
I give it a 6. Good effort by Joel, but it is way overrated. Most of his bottom floor objectives were merely just hit the actuator, and his attempt at assembling the monkey was poor. Plus, his exit plan sucked.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 5: The Enormous Iron Nose Ring of Babe the Ox
Post by: GreenMonkeys#1 on December 31, 2012, 08:16:16 AM
Joel is good but overrated because of a bad Silver Monkey attempt and Exit plan.  Plus the positive side is he sprinted past a Temple Guard in the Dark Forest. I'll give this a 6.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 5: The Enormous Iron Nose Ring of Babe the Ox
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on December 31, 2012, 10:36:18 AM
I gave the "Enormous Iron Nose Ring of Babe" run a 7. Joel was very quick and moved through the rooms quite efficiently. He did have a bit of trouble with the Silver Monkey, but he did not get stalled for that long. And even though he did not take the shortest route out of the temple, it didn't matter because he had so much time left on the clock that he could have taken another lap around the temple without running out of time. In my opinion, his "poor" exit plan added to the excitement of the run. It was also incredibly rare for a contestant to evade all three guards, which made this run even more memorable.

And that is it for Enormous Iron Nose Ring. It got a higher score than I expected, but nevertheless it ended with a score of 6.20.

Next up is "The Mask of Shaka Zulu".
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 6: The Mask of Shaka Zulu
Post by: The Red Jaguars on December 31, 2012, 10:44:27 PM
I gave Shaka Zulu a score of a 2. Between this run and "    ", I am not sure which one I can't stand more. I really could care less about the Shaka Zulu win though and I always skip this win when I watch some of the temple wins on the show. The only time I watch it is for the production error in the Holes of Python. Bobby is so overrated and I don't see how he is the "best contestant ever". Yeah, it was the fastest win on the show. But come on now, only four rooms enroute to the artifact? It is so obvious know that Bobby shouldn't have been able to enter the Tomb of the Ancient Kings. Overall, this win is boring and I don't even bother with it. One of the worst wins on the show, if not the worst.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 6: The Mask of Shaka Zulu
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on December 31, 2012, 10:48:34 PM
I also give it a 2. Bobby just got lucky with his production error in the Holes of Python room. How people consider this "the best temple run ever" just because of his lucky break, is beyond me. And I'll never understand how he's a better player than Jennifer from "John Sutter" just because "he was so fast." Regardless of luck or speed, he wasn't THAT great. It is easily the second most undeserving win next to Silk Ladder.

It's a 2, I think the producers thought they were doing Atahualpa next and accidentally gave it a straightforward path.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 6: The Mask of Shaka Zulu
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on January 01, 2013, 02:19:08 AM
I gave this run a 2 also. The only thing I have to add is that, if the Holes of Python was meant to be a dead end, it would have been unusual compared to every other Swamp space dead end in that it would have been the only one to NOT feature a temple guard in the dead end room.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 6: The Mask of Shaka Zulu
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 01, 2013, 11:05:15 AM
Actually, the Holes of Python was not a deadend in the Shaka Zulu run. If you watch Olmec's temple rundown, you can see that the Treasure Chest in the Treasure Room was already open. So if the doors to the Tomb were actually locked, Bobby could get to the Treasure Room from the Holes of Python. So the run wouldn't have end up like the "Stone Marker" and "Leonardo Da Vinci" runs where the team was actually forced to take an alternate path from the Swamp space.

Very good point. I was saying that HAD it been meant to be a dead end, it would have been the only one to not house a temple guard. But combining the lack of a temple guard with the opened treasure chest, it seems convincing that the team was meant to head up from the Holes of Python to the Treasure Room, then around and back down, like the "Missing Weather Maps" run.

Right, except in the Empress Theodora run, the Dark Forest led up to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey rather than the Swamp leading to the King's Storeroom.

Yeah, almost all of the deadends in Season 1 had a temple guard. I guess that the producers learned their mistakes from the "Stone Marker" and "Leonardo Da Vinci" run and actually gave the team an option to head up from the Holes of Python. And I agree, I think Bobby was meant to go up from the Holes of Python. There is no way that was meant to be the intended path for the Red Jaguars.

I gave Sir Gawain a score of a 7. I have mixed feelings about this win. For the most part, it was a solid effort by Tiffani. She did several things right including swinging back to the platform and taking the Shrine shortcut. But her layout was very lucky and I am surprised she never encountered a temple guard. Plus, she was very slow and if she had a layout like the "Sojourner Truth" team (same path as "Sir Gawain", except they met all three guards), then I don't see this being a win at all. I don't hold her slow speed getting the Helmet out of the temple though since that thing was so huge. Also, I have probably seen this win the most thanks to Nick GaS. A pretty solid solo win, but I still like Atocha better.

I also gave it a 7, for the same reasons. And yeah, this was WAY overplayed on Nick Gas. I pretty much know the entire episode by heart.

I gave the "Sir Gawain" run an 8. Tiffani may have gotten a break with the lack of temple guards, but I feel that that should not be held against her; several of the victories on the show came about because of slightly easier paths and paths where teams avoided multiple guards to score solo wins. As far as Tiffani's run goes, I believe that her actual performance in the temple was very strong. She got back to the platform in the Pit and knew to go from the Shrine to the Dark Forest, even though the Secret Password opened. I also give her credit for lugging the "big ol' helmet" through the Pit and the Ledges. I find this win to be very solid.

Agreed. For those reasons, I gave it an 8. I know it's hard to believe that I have Bandit Queen ranked higher than Sir Gawain in my "Rank the Wins" topic and yet I gave that win a 7, but it all comes down to personal preference. I like Bandit Queen a little more, but that run had more problems than Sir Gawain, thus the difference in scores. Sir Gawain's win had less problems.

I say 7. Tiffani had no Temple Guards in her way enroute to the Helmet. But she deserves some credit for carrying that big ol' helmet.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 8: The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 03, 2013, 12:40:49 AM
I gave Ahmed Baba a score of a 5. Meh, I find this win to be boring and annoying. While it was awesome of Shane to travel through ten rooms to reach the artifact, this strategy was not the brightest to use either. He got lucky that the second temple guard was not in the Shrine or King's Storeroom, or else this run would've been another "Mata Hari" or "Annie Oakley" ending. But still, he did complete his rooms at a good pace. But this run just wasn't that exciting and most of the other solo runs in S2 were much more exciting. Also, the Kirk commentary is VERY annoying. I mean it literally is hard to watch this run because it is so bad. I wonder how many times Shane's name was mentioned? It was so obnoxious.

I'm going the opposite direction as you TRJ. I gave Ahmed Baba a 7. Sure, the layout was generous with a lack of temple guards, but Shane played it right. Not perfectly, but right. This run definitely could've been a little better, but I like it as it is. Shane was a competent player who knew what he was doing for the most part.

I also give it a 5. Sorry to say this, but I find it just plain overrated. Shane was just lucky. He was average skilled, average paced, and he hesitated quite a bit really. I always thought this run got way too much credit and I always forget this is even a win. Shane did a decent job, but I never liked it.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 8: The Very Tall Turban of Ahmed Baba
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on January 03, 2013, 09:50:14 AM
I enjoy the "Very Tall Turban" run, so I gave it a 7. Like I've said before, a number of the victories on the show came about because of the team's ability to bypass multiple guards. I don't think that Shane's encountering only one guard should be held against his performance, even though it was "lucky" that a second guard wasn't on his nine-room path to the Very Tall Turban. In fact, his completing nine objectives is very impressive, considering the fact that only three of them were "hit the actuator" rooms (Ledges, Swamp, Dark Forest). He also had to ride the Mineshaft elevator, assemble the Silver Monkey, and complete the King's Storeroom; all of these objectives took up time. I don't believe that Shane hesitated too much; his only big delay was getting caught in the netting in the Swamp. Aside from that, I feel that he was pretty quick and had a very strong performance.

I'll give it a 6. While Shane got lucky with 9 rooms with 1 Temple Guard, he almost botched the run at the end by pulling a Ron, but he fixed himself and won. Plus it was annoying with all those times the VoiceOver of Kirk saying Shane like 20 times. "Hey Shane, when you coming back Shane, Nice Job Shane" Although it was a nice Green Monkey win.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 9: The Trojan Horseshoe
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 03, 2013, 10:09:16 PM
I gave "The Trojan Horseshoe" a 6. There is not much to say about this win TBH. This was a good Green Monkey team, but there is nothing that sticks out about this win at all. I mean all of the other wins on the show has something that sticks out, but this one is just pretty average. It was still a good team effort though and I don't have complaints about either player really. The run just isn't memorable or very exciting. I know it shares a layout similar to another certain Barracuda run from S1 that gets more praised, but that particular run gets it for various reasons. Long story short, a good Season One team win that was pretty forgettable and kind of boring.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 9: The Trojan Horseshoe

The Trojan Horseshoe gets a 6. This is only memorable for being the first of the Green Monkey wins.

I give it a 6. It's not an amazing victory, but it's not terrible either. There's a reason John Sutter gets more praise, despite having almost the same layout. John Sutter was MUCH more exciting and more memorable. Trojan Horseshoe was just plain average.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 9: The Trojan Horseshoe
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on January 03, 2013, 11:32:21 PM
I gave the Trojan Horseshoe a 6 also. I always seem to think of "Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress" whenever the Trojan Horseshoe is brought up, and I think it has to do with the fact that the former is much more memorable and exciting. The Trojan Horseshoe run was very solid, and Kirk's excitement is his commentating is unusually over-the-top (in a good way). However, the fact that there wasn't anything extremely memorable to distinguish this run from others made me decide to give this run a 6.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 10: The Milk Bucket of Freydis
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 05, 2013, 12:50:11 AM
I gave Freydis a score of a 9. This score might seem a little high, but there is so many things likable about this temple win. While Tarrah did get a little lucky with her path and was a little on the slow side, she also did many things right. She used the Shrine shortcut and completed most of her rooms at a good pace for her height. She still made it to the Milk Bucket with more than 30 seconds on the clock. And you have to give her credit for taking that nasty hit in the Pit and still managed to drag that bulky artifact through the Ledges and score a win at the last second. She never gave up at all. There was a reason she was about to fall apart at the end of the temple run.

It was a good effort by Tarrah, and addition, I find this win to be very exciting and memorable. We all remember this run for the jump and nasty fall in the Pit. Plus, this run came down to the wire and was very exciting to watch. This win deserves the 9.

I'm also giving it a 9. Solid effort by Tarrah, even if she took one wrong turn and was a little slow. I know this is basically an exact replica of "Buddha," but I always found "Freydis" a little more exciting.

I gave the "Milk Bucket of Freydis" a 9 also. It was a memorable and exciting run, all the way down to the final few seconds. Tarrah was a very good contestant, despite getting turned around in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. In my opinion, that was the only thing that went "wrong" during her run. I commend her ability to have taken a hard hit in the Pit, brush it off, and keep going.

I think this is a good time to end Freydis' run. It finishes with a score of 9.00, which I never expected it to finish that high. But it deserves that high of a score, so props to it for having the highest score so far.  :mrpurple:

I am going to do "Galileo's Cannonball" next.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 11: Galileo's Cannonball
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 05, 2013, 11:17:56 PM
I am giving Galileo's Cannonball a score of an 8. This is my favorite Silver Snake win on the show and I found it to be very exciting. Both players were pretty good, but Jammin John was the star of this run. It was a good team effort and this run was filled with many memorable moments like the temple guard guiding Jennifer up into the Heart Room and Jammin John dropping the Cannonball at the temple gate. Plus, it was another run that came down to the wire. There aren't many good season one wins, but this one was an exception and I enjoyed it. :mrsilver:

I'm giving Galileo's Cannonball a 7. It was a good win, but it was lacking something: excitement until the very end with the close finish. I don't know why, but this run wasn't too exciting for me. Maybe it's Kirk's lack of excitement, I don't know. It was a good run though.

I gave it a 7, for the same reasons PP319 stated. It was a good win, but it didn't have too much excitement. Maybe that just has to do with the awkwardness of it being the very first temple run. Plus, Jennifer was kind of hesitant.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 12: The Mussel-Shell Armor of Apanuugpak
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 06, 2013, 11:24:47 PM
I gave the Apanuugpak win a score of a 10. One of the best wins on the history of the show with one of the best male contestants. Amanda moved at an average speed, but it didn't matter because Gator was more than capable of covering her path no matter how much time she wasted. Gator was simply awesome and amazing and he knew that three minutes was not enough time to mess around. If more contestants moved liked him, then they could probably win at almost any layout. The commentary is very good with Amanda cheering and Kirk's supportive nature.

I gave the "Apanuugpak" run one point for each time Gator had to adjust his pants: a 10. This run is very exciting and never gets old. Amanda's portion of the run was not all that great, but it was memorable that she had to jump off the pendulum to knock the column over. Even with that delay, she made good time to the Dark Forest. And then, once Gator took over, he cleaned up well. He made very good time to the Dark Forest, had a very memorable encounter with the guard in the Shrine, and ran his heart out once he reached the Mussel Shell Armor. I love Kirk's commentary for this run, and Amanda's and Gator's cheering for each other only enhances this run and makes me even happier that they won.

Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 07, 2013, 09:12:14 PM
I am going to give Butch Cassidy a score of a 3. To me, this is one of my bottom 5 wins on the show. You are not the best solo win on the show just because you had a quick victory. Honestly, there is nothing really likable about this victory. Paula's temple layout was very lucky and easy. Every room she entered had some kind of "hit an actuator" objective or the room didn't really need to be completed at all. The victory itself is pretty lame and unexciting, and I never bother to go back and watch it. Between her and Mitchell, I am not sure whose victory I can't stand more. Just a lame and overrated win.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 13: The Silver Horseshoe of Butch Cassidy
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on January 07, 2013, 09:37:04 PM
I give it a 2, this is one of the most overrated wins ever. Just because "you're sooo fast" and "look like you know what you're doing" doesn't mean it's the best solo victory in the shows history. Paula did a decent job, but she was just waaaay too lucky. Her layout is basically "The Moccasins of Geronimo" of Season 2, minus switching floors three times. Even if Matt had gone in first, it would still be as unexciting. Paula is easily the most overrated contestant ever besides Mitchell and Joel.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 13: The Silver Horseshoe of Butch Cassidy

I gave it a 4. It's not the worst win, but it was too easy. However, Paula seemed to have a good idea of what to do and never hesitated. She did good, but got lucky with this layout.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 13: The Silver Horseshoe of Butch Cassidy
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on January 07, 2013, 11:07:38 PM
I gave the "Butch Cassidy" run a 4. I don't mind this run, even though it isn't terribly exciting. All of the rooms were "hit the actuator" style rooms, but at least Paula took an interesting path by going from the Heart Room down to the Throne Room and then across the bottom floor. It wasn't her "fault" that the room difficulties and temple guard placements worked in her favor.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 14: The Snake Bracelet of Cleopatra
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 08, 2013, 10:47:24 PM
I am going to give Snake Bracelet a score of a 5. There is not much to say about this win. The layout was pretty simple for the team and it wasn't very exciting or memorable. And there is no reason that this team should've finished with 20 seconds left after having this simple of a layout. Robert was super fast, but Tracy was kind of slow and wasted unnecessary time in the Observatory and Room of Fallen Columns. There are better Silver Snake and Season 1 runs beside this one.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 14: The Snake Bracelet of Cleopatra
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on January 08, 2013, 10:55:23 PM
I gave the "Snake Bracelet of Cleopatra" a 4. It was a rather uninspiring win. The path was pretty simplistic. And while Robert was fast, Tracy was the one who spent most of the time in the temple, and she was significantly slower going through the temple. The only truly memorable part of this run for me was when Tracy tried to take the shortcut from the Observatory to the Treasury of Golden Orbs, and ended up breaking the mechanism to unlock the door when Tracy grabbed the Snake Bracelet.

I am going to give Sultan Saladin an 8. This is one of my favorite solo wins on the show and I found it very memorable. Leah did a pretty solid job in the temple and I can't really complain much about her performance. Yeah, she tried to take a direct path. But I am not going to complain much since she did avoid a temple guard in the process. Other than that, I love the little quirks about this run from the Cave of Sighs guard cheering on Leah, her temple guard encounter in the Tomb of the Ancient Kings, and the post temple run ending was pretty memorable with Kirk. A solid performance for the first solo win ever.

I gave the Sultan Saladin run an 8. I find this win very exciting, and I applaud Leah's performance. Her path was much longer than most Season 1 runs, but she did not get tripped up or turned around at any point during the run. Yes, she tried to see if the door leading from the Wall Climb to the Observatory was unlocked, but that took all of 4 seconds, and mishaps have happened before, so that door may have misfired and given her an easy win; I believe that should not be held against her. The temple guard in the Tomb of Ancient Kings was memorable, as was the guard hiding in the corner of the Cave of Sighs. Overall, I enjoy this run and am happy the team won.

I am going to give Catherine the Great a 9. As you may already know, this is one of my all time favorite wins on the show. Kris and Kristin were an awesome team and scored a memorable win. The layout may have been simple, but it was filled with many good moments. I like Kirk's commentary and excitement during the end of the run. Kris and Kristin were also great players and I love Kristin's dive into the Pit. This is hands down the Jaguars best win and it was also a great way to end the show. A job well done by both the players and production team.

I gave the "Jewel-Encrusted Egg" a 7. It appears that I don't find this win as exciting as other people. Kris and Kristen were a strong team, and there were some memorable moments of this run, such as Kris getting back to the platform in the Pit and Kristen's dive into the Pit. However, it seemed to me like the run got less exciting as the clock wound down. It may have been because it felt like Kristen moved more and more slowly as the run went on. Also, this run's path appeared to be unusually short with a predictable temple guard placement. Overall, I like this win, but I don't love it.

I gave it an 8. Solid win, but a fairly easy layout. Still, Kris and Kristen were really good players. One of my personal favorite wins though.

I gave Emiliano Zapata a 9. This is one of my personal favorite wins on the show. Olivia-Emma and Robert weren't the greatest contestants and they layout was pretty simple, but this was a very exciting temple run. I love how the run comes down to the wire as Olivia-Emma is exiting with the artifact. I wasn't sure if Olivia-Emma would pull it off when I first watched, but she put up a really strong effort to score that last second win. Maybe Jason from "Icarus" should've watched her run. I can never get tired of watching this run and it was solid all the way through.

I also gave it a 9, it was a great win, even though the layout was rather simple. And I love the nailbiter ending where Olivia Emma finished with literally a second left on the clock. This is like the opposite of Icarus, and we all know what happened there.

I will say 9. This run is famous for the one-second ending. Even with a 6 room layout being straightforward, it is a very exciting run.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 17: The Applewood Amulet of Emiliano Zapata
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on January 12, 2013, 10:14:37 AM
I gave the "Emiliano Zapata" run a 7. It appears that I don't find it as exciting as other people. Robert and Olivia-Emma were a good team, but they were lucky they weren't forced into any more rooms than the ones on their direct and simple 5-room path. Where did the time go in this run? The only rooms with multiple-step objectives was the King's Storeroom and the Shrine, so I'm not sure why they finished with only one second left on the clock. There were other runs, such as "Freydis," where the contestant went through a whole lot more rooms with more objectives and finished with the more time or the same amount of time on the clock. Another thing I'd like to mention is that Olivia-Emma passed up the very obvious half pendant in the Pit. Had she encountered the last guard, the run would have ended then and there.

I guess I don't like this run as much as other people because so many things could have gone wrong, but this team lucky enough to evade having even one of those missteps come back to hurt their success. This team could have ended like "Sir Edmund Hillary" or "Mush Pot Hat" if they were forced down into the Mineshaft; they could have ended up in triple capture like so many other runs if Olivia-Emma was caught by the third guard; and this run very easily could have ended similarly to "Icarus," with Olivia-Emma between the Ledges and the final gate, if this team went even a tiny bit more slowly at any point during their straight-forward path.

This win gets an 8 from me. It was a solid win. However, the team only completed 5 rooms (entered 6 overall) en route to the Amulet. To be fair, those rooms were some of the toughest rooms in the temple at that time. It's not like they had to go through the bottom of the temple. That would've been too easy. The last second finish was exciting too. A pretty good win if you ask me.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 18: The Moccasins of Geronimo
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 13, 2013, 12:43:29 AM
Geronimo will get a score of a 2 from me. To me, this is the most overrated run on the whole show. Mitchell gets way too much credit for having a fast solo win. He basically walks through the whole temple, even when he has the Moccasins in hand. Also, the Treasure Room chest working for him was dumb luck and I don't think that there was any kind of strategy behind it at all. He was so amazing that he even started assembling the Silver Monkey... after grabbing the Moccasins.  As overrated as Paula is, at least she moved fast and looked like she knew what she was doing. Mitchell just walked through the whole temple and the most tiring thing he did was spin a Sundial. I can even tolerate Butch Cassidy more than this garbage. An overrated win that gets way too much credit, and not to mention it is extremely boring and the Treasure Chest working was a load of crap. Undeserving win indeed.

Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on January 13, 2013, 12:55:58 AM
Yeah, I gave it a 2 as well. I just don't understand why people call Mitchell a strategist. If you see a huge treasure chest in the middle of the room, isn't it your first instinct to open up the chest? He just happened to get lucky that THAT was the only day where the Treasure Chest actually opened. It was just dumb luck, not a strategy. Very uninspiring win.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 18: The Moccasins of Geronimo
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on January 13, 2013, 09:01:20 AM
I gave the "Moccasins of Geronimo" a 6. I happen to like this win. Every victory on the show came about because of some instance(s) of luck working in the teams' favor, whether it was the layout, path, or temple guard placement. Mitchell got lucky that all of the doors he tried opened. I'm not calling him a strategist, but he maneuvered through seven rooms on his way to the Moccasins, switching floors multiple times without ever getting turned around. Considering how often contestants tried doors in the wrong direction, even when they were simply going in a straight line, I would consider Mitchell's path impressive. Sure, he didn't sprint through the temple, but in the Season 1 layouts, it wasn't always vitally necessary to be that fast... take "Davy Crockett" and "Silk Ladder" for instance.

And even though Mitchell did not need to assemble the statue in the Shrine after he grabbed the Moccasins, he was one of many contestants who had some sort of mishap during their exit from the temple. I like to look at Mitchell's assembling the Silver Monkey in a different light: had he needed to enter that room (or any room with an actual objective), he would not have had any difficulty because he looked like he knew what to do in the room. Mitchell stayed calm and focused throughout the whole run and knew what he was doing in every room, never hesitating or getting turned around.

Call it strategy, call it luck, call it ADHD... I don't know what to call whatever it was that led Mitchell to the win, but I do think this run is at least memorable for the use of the treasure chest, the third-fastest completion time ever and especially the fact that the VERY eccentric path Mitchell took through the temple worked without a single hitch.  That's a lot more than I can say for some other wins, so even though "The Moccasins of Geronimo" might feel a little cheap, I still gave it a 5.

I am going to give Chandragupta an 8. It was a pretty exciting solo win that had a very close finish. Andrea did a solid job in the temple and I can't think of one thing she did wrong. She completed her rooms at a fast speed and even signaled her half-pendant to Shaun. Her exit was very close, but she still pulled it off in the end. I loved the enthusiasm that she displayed throughout her episode and temple run. You can tell that it was authentic and that she was happy to win at the end of her run. I am glad this team won and they deserved it.

I am honestly surprised on how some of these wins already have a higher score than "Bandit Queen". I thought Bandit Queen was immensely loved on this forum. I didn't expect "Galileo's Cannonball" or "Sir Gawain" to have a higher score than Bandit Queen. :o

Yeah, there have been a couple of wins where I was the only one to give it a certain score but didn't want to change it in the end. Like I was the only that gave Sforza a 5 and never changed it. Regardless, I will fix the score for Bandit Queen to reflect the change. And I am going to stop Chandragupta's time right here. It will finish with a perfect 8.00.

I gave Billy the Kid a score of a 7. Heather and Tony had a fairly easy layout, but the win was very memorable though. After all, it was the first time the Purple Parrots won in the temple. Both players were very dominant pre-temple round and it was nice to see them win the temple run along with it. As bad as Tony's exit plan was, the temple run still went down to the wire and I found it to be exciting at least. A pretty good win that memorable for various reasons.

The two teams do have something in common. Both teams were pretty strong pre-temple round and both Tony's screwed (or almost screwed up for the Billy the Kid one) their temple runs. With that being said, that is it for the "Billy the Kid" run. It finishes with a score of 7.29.

I am going to give Silk Ladder a score of a 1.

Now THIS temple run right here is the worst win on the show. This episode shows us what happens when you give a slow and clueless team an easy layout, they can still win. It's not Jeremy and Erika's fault that they had an easy temple layout, but they should've finished with way more than 30 seconds left on the clock. All they had to do was sit on a Throne and push two actuators, and that was all there was to their layout. If they weren't so slow and looked lost all the time, maybe they could've had over a minute left. And I hope I am not the only one that hates Jeremy's stupid victory celebration at the end of the run.       This is easily the most undeserving and lamest run on the show. Pathetic win indeed.

Seriously, this should have been up with Geronimo's time if it weren't for Jeremy running slow. There's a reason this episode's title gets nothing more than an  smiley train. Going from one of the worst wins to one of the best wins, I am going to give Pirate Captain a score of 10. This is quite possibly one of the best teams to enter the temple. It was a nice change of pace to watch a temple run where both players were fast and smart. Their temple layout was pretty tough, but they didn't make it seem that way because they were both so good. Jessica was very fast and traveled up the central shaft like there was nothing to it. Jarrid retraced her steps well, which included a detour up the entire central shaft, and he still grabbed the Lost Hornpipe and brought it out in time. The ending is pretty funny to with Jarrid playing the Hornpipe. What an awesome and very exciting win.

I gave the "Pirate Captain" run a 9. I really enjoy this run, especially Jessica's ability to clear the whole central shaft in great time and Jarrid's ability to get out of the Quicksand Bog and across the whole temple in under 20 seconds. The door from the Pit to the King's Storeroom should have opened, noting the stair in the staircase had lowered, but for some reason, the door did not slide over. Due to this malfunction, the team did need to scale the whole central shaft, so Jarrid's decision to go down into the Tomb of the Headless Kings should not be held against him.

The reason I did not give this run a 10 was that Jarrid's brief detour into the Secret Password could have been very costly, since he only had a half pendant.

9 or 10, 9 or 10......I'll give this win a 9. This is a very strong win. Both Jarrid and Jessica did a superb job in the temple, and this was with a tough layout. Like PP4L though, I docked one point because of Jarrid's brief entry into the Room of the Secret Password, which could've been brutal had there been a temple guard in there. If not for that, this would've gotten a 10 from me.

I am giving it a 10. Why? its one of the 2 rare occasions where the run consists of 2 very awesome players. As much as i would love to see the parrots going into the temple (me being a pp fan), the green monkeys definitely did an awesome job. one of the best episodes and runs ever. Jarrid and Jessica.

Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 18, 2013, 11:44:55 AM
I am going to give Genghis Khan a 7. This run reminds me of "The Trojan Horseshoe", but only a little more exciting and better. And Since I have "The Trojan Horseshoe" a 6, I think Genghis Khan deserves a score slightly higher. The temple layout may have been easy, but they were a good team. I like Kirk's commentary during the temple run too, it made it more exciting. The best part of this temple run is the ending where Becca and Taylor were hugging each other, yet they couldn't stay in camera frame. Kirk even had to grab Taylor's shirt in order to pull him back into camera frame.  It may have been an easy layout, but the team earned their win.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 24: The Lucky Pillow of Annie Taylor
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 19, 2013, 03:19:35 PM
I am going to give Annie Taylor a 10. Why? Because the win is so amazing and magical that it earns a perfect score. Missy may have not been as fast as Gator and she may have taken a direct path, but I see no reason to give her a hard time for that. She was a great player and this was an awesome and well-deserved win. The ending to the run is great with Kirk's enthusiasm and Missy in tears. You can tell that she and John were glad to win. You don't have to be Jarrid or Gator to be a good win. This win never gets old to watch from time to time and I feel it deserves a perfect 10. My most favorite win on the show.  :mrblue:

I gave "Lucky Pillow of Annie Taylor" a 10. The whole episode was fun and exciting, and the run alone was just as memorable. Missy's enthusiasm only added to the excitement of the run. Can you blame her decision to try the door to Medusa's Lair in the Pit? There were plenty of malfunctions and out-of-place things in the temple that perhaps the door would have opened. Even with that "delay," she moved through the temple with ease and got out with time to spare. The fact that this was the first of only two victories from the Center of the Rooms solidified my decision to give this run a perfect score.

Very rarely will I give a win or run a 10. However, this is one of those runs. I'm giving this a 10 as well! What a fun run to watch. Missy did an outstanding job in the temple, and with a hard layout too. A solo win with the Pillow located in the center room is very impressive. She made it look very easy. One of my favorite wins and I just have to give it a 10. :mrblue:

10!  :mrblue: this was one of the best episodes ever. It's my 4th favorite episode (Pirate Captain, Apanuugpac, Lawrence of Arabia), and Missy just tore through the Temple and got the artifact from the "Center of the Room"
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 24: The Lucky Pillow of Annie Taylor

This also gets a 10 from me. As far as I'm concerned, THIS is the best temple run of all time. (Either this or Lost Hornpipe). So what if Missy took a direct path? So what if her layout was kind of simple? So what if she wasn't Gator or Jarrid fast? She was an amazing player who new what to do in every room. This win was extremely exciting and her emotional personality just adds to the excitement. One of the my favorite episodes and temple runs ever, this temple run was perfect.

I am going to end Annie Taylor's time a little early since I will be working later and will be going to a football party. This win will finish with a score of 9.88 (so close to a perfect score  ).

Next up is going to be "The Ruby Earring of Benzibab".

Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 20, 2013, 11:29:36 AM
BENZIBAB!!111!1 is going to get a 7 from me. This run reminds me of "The Jeweled Scabbard of Sforza" where the temple layout was simple and set up in favor of the players. But I enjoyed this win a little more than "Sforza", so I gave it a higher score. Originally, I was going to give this win a 6, but there is a couple of reasons why I gave it a slightly higher score. Despite the easy layout, Kevin and Annie were really good players and a TEAM winning with over a minute left is no fluke. They were very speedy in the temple. Secondly, this win is memorable on this board among a certain member.  It was a solid team effort and Kevin and Annie deserved it, even if it was kind of given to them on a silver platter/

I'm giving Benzibab an 8.  Like TRJ said, it might've been a short path to the artifact, but still, both Kevin and Annie got to go into the Temple and they still managed to win in less than two minutes (keep in mind the next-fastest team victory was "Robin Hood and Marian's Silk Ladder," with only about half a minute on the clock despite a considerably easier path).  Considering they still had to clear tough Season 3 rooms like the Pit of the Pendulum, the Tomb of the Headless Kings and the Jester's Court, the Benzibab team definitely worked for their win.

Next up is "The Collar of Davy Crockett".
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 26: The Collar of Davy Crockett
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 21, 2013, 11:02:36 AM
I am giving Davy Crockett a 4. This temple layout was sort of similar to "     ", except Shannon and Adam had a trek up the entire central shaft and had to complete an actual objective in the Treasury of the Golden Orbs. But still, there is no reason they had to finish with only 5 seconds left on the clock after such an easy layout. Shannon moved fine in the temple and I don't really blame this close win on her. Adam, on the other hand, was pretty slow and he didn't even attempt to speed up after grabbing the Raccoon Collar. It was just an easy temple win with average to slow players and not exciting at all...
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 26: The Collar of Davy Crockett
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on January 21, 2013, 11:05:40 AM
I gave "Davy Crockett" a 3. This run was quite simple and straight-forward, yet the team only barely got out of the temple in time. Adam took nearly as long to get to where Shannon left off as it did for her to get there herself! Overall, I don't find this run to be one of the most memorable wins of the show. The best part of the run was when Kirk had to verify that the artifact was indeed the artifact before he started celebrating with the team.

Yes i gave it a 9. I would have given it a 9.5 but since theres no.5 i just gave it a 9. However, i still find it an awesome run. This is just my own personal opinion : yes i agree, missy was very great and her run was flawless. but i docked half a point for speed only. i just feel that the lost hornpipe of the pirate captain is better.

Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 22, 2013, 11:19:38 AM
I am going to give "Dr. Livingstone" a score of a 5. Wait, this temple run was a win?! No seriously, I always forget that this win exists. Nothing really to say about this temple win honestly. Tabitha and Brett moved at an average pace in the temple and they got stuck with an easy path to the artifact. The only real notable thing that happened in this win was Brett entering all rooms of the temple. Despite the easy path, the team still finished with hardly any time on the clock. Everything this temple win did, "The Metal Beard of the Egyptian Queen" did better. Tabitha and Brett weren't bad players, but when we get down to it, this win was not very memorable or exciting at all...

I don't think it's a bad win, just forgettable. Therefore, I gave it a 6. This team wasn't bad, it's that the layout kind of worked in their favor with easy objectives.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 27: The Diary of Dr. Livingstone
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on January 22, 2013, 02:48:59 PM
I gave it a 5, it just wasn't exciting at all. I know it was basically the same path as "Metal Beard," but that team was faster and their layout was a bit harder since it was Season 3 and all. It was a decent team, but the win was forgettable.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 27: The Diary of Dr. Livingstone
Post by: PurpleParrot4Life on January 22, 2013, 03:39:36 PM
I gave the "Diary of Dr. Livingstone" a 6. The team was okay, but the path was very plain and straight-forward. The one thing I find memorable about this run is that Brett entered every room... but four of those rooms (the most time consuming rooms, no less) were entered after he grabbed the artifact.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 28: The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 23, 2013, 01:07:03 PM
I am going to give Roland a 4. This is pretty much the next fastest temple win next to "Shaka Zulu". And unlike Shaka Zulu, the team didn't have a production error assist them in winning. But there is really nothing special at all about this win. The temple layout was pretty simple for S3 and Yakerra only moved at an average pace. She did have a fast temple exit, but that is about it. All the other wins offered by S3 were better and the only remarkable thing about this run is it was the second fastest win. There were better wins on the show.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 28: The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland

This win gets a 5 from me. It wasn't too impressive, but Yakerra did alright. At least she had to complete some real objectives, even though there weren't many of them in this run.
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 28: The Ivory Hunting Horn of Roland
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on January 23, 2013, 02:41:53 PM
I gave it a 5. Good effort by Yakerra, but her layout was way too easy. This run is just overrated, it's not the "amazing wonderful" temple run that it's made out to be. It's just plain average.

Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 29: The Lucky Medallion of Atocha
Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 24, 2013, 12:46:57 PM
I am giving Atocha a 9. This is probably my most favorite Orange Iguana win on the show. :P Ty was an awesome contestant and one of the best male players on the show. He was smart and fast, and he never gave up after dropping his pendant either. He also took the high road in the temple, which certainly benefited him as he didn't get caught up in the "direct path" temple guard trap. He grabbed the Lucky Medallion and brought it back to the temple gate after almost entering every single room. This is a great and fun solo win. The beginning is very memorable for the pendant drop and Kirk's enthusiasm throughout the temple run. And while Ty did drop his pendant, I think it was an honest mistake and don't hold it against him. One of the best solo wins on the show.  :P

Post by: The Red Jaguars on January 25, 2013, 12:49:14 PM
I am giving Egyptian Queen an 8. I actually enjoy this win better than "Bandit Queen". While Bandit Queen was fun for Zac's fast speed, the Egyptian Queen win featured two players that were fast themselves. It was nice to see the Purple Parrots win the tiebreaker and turn around to win the temple run. Randy's terrible exit kind of hurts this win along with TJ's obnoxious screaming, but the win was still exciting and came down to the wire. It was a well deserved win and they earned it.  :mrpurple:

I also gave it an 8. Of the three PP wins, this one is second on my list. It was a solid effort by both TJ and Randy. They never hesitated en route to the Metal Beard, which was great. However, like TRJ, I docked a point for Randy's awful exit. That could've been costly had there been less time on the clock. Still, they won and their effort was very good. I enjoy this win very much! :mrpurple:

Would anyone mind if I go to Map to the Lost Gold Mine now? I know it is way to early to end the Egyptian Queen's time, but I don't think I will be on until very late tomorrow. And it is our last win to cover anyways. ;)

If anyone wants to still vote and hasn't got a chance yet, post it here and I will average it into the final score. And the final score was 8.28.

Now we move onto our last win - Map to the Lost Gold Mine. I will set the poll up in a minute. ;)

Here it is folks, our very last win. And I am glad that we ended on a great win too, because I am giving Map to the Lost Gold Mine a 10. I have a feeling that this win will get mixed reviews, but this is one of my all time favorite wins. It was a very fun win with a lot of quirks to it (in a good way!). :P Jennifer and Damian may have not had the hardest layout, but damn they did a good job. In fact, I think 8 rooms enroute to the artifact was a pretty tough task for an early season one win. Damian's time was short-lived, but Jennifer picked up the slack well and she put up a great effort. I never understood how people thought she was slow and clueless. She made a couple of mistakes in a couple of rooms. Even the best temple runners made mistake - look what Jarrid from "Pirate Captain" did. In addition to the great temple performance, this run is very fun to watch from all the Kirk Fogg-Ups ("Temple of the Ancient Kings", "Ledge of Sighs", "Jennifer's Pit") to Jennifer slipping in the end, it is such a great win. I know I overdid it with the ranking, but I love the win so much that it wholeheartedly deserved it.   :mrblue:
Title: Re: Rate the Legends Win - Day 32: John Sutter and the Map to the Lost Gold Mine
Post by: Purple Parrots Fan on January 26, 2013, 01:12:24 AM
Damian not David. ;)

Anyways, John Sutter gets a 10. This one of the, if not THE best temple run of Season 1 tied with Lawrence of Arabia. Who cares if Jennifer wasn't fast, who cares if she had it easy considering this was Season 1. She was an excellent player who knew what to do in every room. Just because she wasn't as fast as Gator or Jarrid, doesn't make her a terrible player. I never understood how making a few mistakes like taking the direct path automatically made this win undeserved and bad. This run was extremely exciting and memorable, and Jennifer's slip on the floor made this run even better. And the audience went wild when they won, you can tell even THEY were excited for her. I love this run and episode, it is one of my all time favorite episodes and Jennifer deserves every single bit of credit she gets. Amazing win and team.

Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress!

Wait, we haven't covered Lawrence of Arabia yet?

Now THAT is the best for last. Oh, and I modified the titles of some of your posts. So it's "Day 31" instead of "Day 32." And "Lawrence of Arabia" as the real "Day 32" has been added to the OP. ;)

Oh, and Lost Gold Mine gets:

an 8. Hopefully this doesn't anger anyone. I thought this was a good win, but it's nowhere near 10 quality in my book. It was still a really good effort by the Blue Barracudas. Just a couple of mistakes knocked the score down.

So it was Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress that we haven't covered. We certainly don't want to overlook that win.  I think I know what happened. I had "Dr. Livingstone" listed twice and not Map to the Lost Gold Mine. So when I deleted the second Dr. Livingstone, I must've deleted "Lawrence of Arabia". That's okay though, we will just cover Lawrence of Arabia as our last win. Thanks for pointing that out and fixing the title for me both of you.  And it will only be fitting to end this series with the first episode ever aired.

You forgot my favorite episode. We never did Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress  ;)

John Sutter deserves a 9. Perfect Temple Run + Extreme Fogg Ups = Awesome Episode.

And that's it for Map to the Lost Gold Mine. It will finish with a score of 9.17.

And now we go onto our final win - "Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress".

I am giving Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress a 10. I don't care of this was a season one run or if the team didn't face a "Pirate Captain" type layout - they were both good players and earned the win. David was the star of this run though and he would've won in any of the temple wins. He was very fast and completed his rooms swiftly. Watch how he handled the Silver Monkey when grabbing all three pieces at once! And his temple exit was the best on the show IMO. I find it more exciting than Zac's exit even. He basically jumps out of the Cave of Sighs and scores the final second win! This temple win is very exciting and David was one of the best players on the show hands down.

I was originally going to give this win a 9 because of the shaky start, but since this is the last win we're ranking and because I love coming back to watch this win, I'm giving it a 10! This win took a turn for the best once David entered the Shrine of the Silver Monkey. Both players were quick and knew what to do, even if they didn't take any shortcuts at the start. I think this is my 2nd favorite win behind Apanuugpak.

And that is it for Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress. It will finish with a score of 9.67.

And that is it also for the Legends temple win ratings! I am going to post a final list with the lowest to highest ranked wins. ;)

Overall, I agree with these final rankings. I have no problem with the top 10 runs either. I love those wins and they all deserve to be there.

Bandit Queen seems  little too low though. But then again, Miriam is the one to be blamed for that. It's a good win and everything, but I thought the Silver Snake runs above it were better.

I would probably put Sforza up one higher too.

Buddha also seems a little too low. I think it should've been at the #20 spot.

Overall though, this was fun and I am glad that everyone took the time to vote and give their opinions. Can't believe how fast this went.  :mrred:

Nostradamus and Bandit Queen are too low in my opinion. :?

I had fun with this. Thanks for the fun topic! :D

Buddha and Bandit Queen are too low, and I sort of wish Lucky Pillow would have gotten a perfect score just like Apanuugpak. Otherwise, I have no complaints. This was fun, and I'm pretty sure this is the only rankings topic that we even finished.

I think Billy the Kid was also too low. Heather and Tony dominated the entire show and the Temple Run was epic, even if it was the entire bottom floor.

Bandit Queen is way too low. Why was Galileo ranked ahead of Bandit Queen :|

Kelly and Tony. I guess TRJ's Fogg Ups are pretty contagious.

And I agree, Billy the Kid was ranked too low.

Both teams are so similar that it is easy to get those two confused. ;)

Anyways, I think that Bandit Queen should've been near Chandragupta. However, I think Galileo's Cannonball is fine as is. It was a pretty solid run for being pretty much for the first temple run ever. Yeah, it was awkward and the camera work was a little sucky. But it was still memorable and Jammin John was awesome. Plus, I love all the little quirks of this win like Jennifer being guided up into the Heart Room by the temple guard and John dropping the Cannonball near the temple gates.  Those two earned their win. Loved it. Bandit Queen was awesome too, but Miriam is the one that almost ruined it. She was starting to turn into a Karisa out there.  :o

Post 10,000 in the Heart Room huh? Took us over 6 years to get there, and what a great topic to have it in too.

Anyways, I basically agree with where everything ranked. Maybe some higher and some lower, but I have no complaints.
