Title: First Episode Aired?
Post by: TBombMadeEZ on July 13, 2006, 06:33:17 PM
I was thinking the other day, and I was curious if the first episode I watched, was the first one that was aired.

I'm pretty sure the first episode aired, was an episode with the Green Monkeys doing the temple run, and the item was in the swamp, but I have no clue what the item was. Maybe it was on some sort of mannequin head??

The other question is, was this the first episode taped, or did they just use the first episode that the team got the artifact and won, and used that to kick off the show.

Just curious.

Oh yeah. I think you're talking about Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress?

To answer your other question, I'm pretty sure that this wasn't the first episode taped. I think the first episode taped was The Golden Cup of Belshazzar.

"The Golden Cup of Belshazzar" may or may not be the first episode aired, but it's got some awkward moments to support that claim.  One that comes to mind is when Kirk says, "One team will have a chance to retrieve the cup and return it to its rightful owner."

Um, Belshazzar's been dead for over 2,000 years.

LOL. That's great. Unless Belshazzar could rise up from the dead...otherwise, no. :P

''Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress'' was one of the last episodes taped, but the first to air, on September 18th, 1993. ''The Golden Cup of Belshazzar'' was most probably the first episode taped, although it was shown later in the season. The first temple run was most probably ''The Dead Man's Hand,'' to add to the confusion, because the ''Belshazzar'' episode's temple was in a completely different layout.

Yeah, Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress was the first one to air, I think that The Golden Cup of Belshazzar was the first to tape the Moat, Steps of Knowledge, & Temple Games, but The Dead Man's Hand (Wild Bill Hickok &) was the first Temple Run, so I basically think the same as nicklegends, because Kirk was very exciting in Belshazzar & the producer's expected too much out of the players in Dead Man's Hand, which is typical, because some players didn't move too well.

And that is magnfied by the fact that the show never aired a pilot that we know of, like most other Nick game shows did. They had no idea what to expect!

Actually, it was Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress. The order they taped the shows in was not the same they showed them in, hence the difference. Furthermore, the first episode was actually shown on the 18th, according to a very trusted source (Jon of The Shrine of the Silver Monkey). I understand my site has shown differently, however.

The TV.com guide isn't right, someone submitted air dates that I didn't know were wrong at the time and I haven't took them off yet

Galileo's Cannonball

Well, as I said earlier, Lawrence of Arabia's Headdress was the first episode aired, but the first episode taped we probably the Golden Cup of Belshazzar, and the first temple run taped was probably the Dead Man's Hand. Galileo's Cannonball was an early episode, but that doesn't mean it was the first one shown.

Legends was peculiar in that way, wasn't it?

Yeah. Ever since GaS started showing the episodes in order, we've completed the whole Season 1 taping order. It's on my website, but also in a topic in the Pit. Thanks for pointing that out, though.
