Episode 80px]

The camera maneuvers through a thick rainforest to stop in front of an ancient temple.  A giant stone head next to the gate of the temple begins to speak:
"LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk appears from behind the Temple Guard door in the Dungeon and runs straight out into the foreground of the stage to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple.  Which legend are we gonna hear about today?"

Olmec replies:
"The Legend of the Silver Earring of Captain Kidd."

"Ooh, the Silver Earring of Captain Kidd!" Kirk says in response. "Well, one of these six teams will have a chance to retrieve the Silver Earring.  Will it be:
"David and Kristen of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order?
"Jalen and Tanya of the Blue Barracudas,
"Jarrod and Bailey of the Green Monkeys,
"Kyle and Jessica of the Orange Iguanas,
"Robert and Meredith of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Lance and Theresa of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "and in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they must cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today:
"In front of each team there's three icebergs that?re floating in the Moat.  When I say go, one player from each team will run over the icebergs to get to the other side of the Moat.  Then his partner'll run across too, but if a player touches the icebergs with a part of a body other than their feet, they?ll have to go back and start all over again."
"As soon as the second player makes it onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He slams down on the Red Jaguars' gong to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs are going on to the Steps of Knowledge.  Hey teams: On your marks, get set, GO!"

?These guys are moving fast!? remarks Kirk as the team players launch out into the Moat.  All the teams make good time, but some are particularly fast, especially the Orange Iguanas, locking in after only seven seconds. ?We got one team!? More gongs are heard. ?That?s two? Three? That?s it! We got our four teams right here!?
The camera now shows Kirk in front of the Red Jaguars? gong with the appropriate team. ?Red Jaguars blazed across, it was a tough match!? Kirk comments. ?They?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Orange Iguanas?? the camera briefly shows each qualifying team? ?and the Purple Parrots? and the Silver Snakes! The Blue Barracudas and the Green Monkeys gave it a great effort but came up a little bit short.  It was a great match.  They?re not going away empty-handed, we got a great gift for them and here?s what it is.? Jalen, Tanya, Jarrod and Bailey will each be receiving a watch provided by Armitron.

The four teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "The quest continues, and now it's time for Olmec to tell us about the Silver Earring of Captain Kidd.  But pay attention, teams, because your knowledge of the Legend could bring you a step closer to Olmec's Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the legend:
"One of the greediest pirates of all time was Captain William Kidd.  Aboard his ship, the Adventure Galley, he sailed all about the Atlantic Ocean, looking for as many ships as he could to rob dry and then sink.  He amassed a huge collection of treasure, but all the other pirates around there wanted it, and all the officials wanted him captured and executed.  Legend has it that one day Captain Kidd's quartermaster, a black man named Hendrick, came to tell him the news.
" 'Cap'n, we have Blackbeard on our tail, trying to get to your treasure.  What do we do?'
" 'Don?t worry, Hendrick me lad.  He'll never find it.'
"According to legend, the Adventure Galley sailed out to Treasure Island.  The island couldn?t be found on any map, but Captain Kidd himself had found it in his travels.  He locked the treasure chest and had Hendrick bury it in the sands of the island, then left.  Other pirates eventually found the island, but none of them could unlock the treasure chest, since the key to it was actually Captain Kidd?s silver earring.  When Kidd died, the earring made its way to the Temple.  Your quest is to find the Silver Earring and bring it back here."

"Thanks Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the legend. "So, where is the Silver Earring?"
Olmec replies:
"The Silver Earring of Captain Kidd can be found in the SHRIIIIINE of the Silver Monkey." The camera zooms in on the Gold Foil on the shelf next to the middle part of the monkey statue, then fades back to Kirk.

"Ah, of course! Teams," Kirk begins, walking down the steps, "you're now standing on the Steps of Knowledge, and in a minute, Olmec will ask you a question.  If you think you know the answer, I want stomp down on that ancient marking in front of you.  If you're right, you're gonna move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or run out of time, I?m gonna give the other teams a chance to answer.  The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple.  Olmec, we?re ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:
?Was Captain Kidd?s ship the: Adventure Galley, Golden Hind or Queen Anne?s Revenge??
David hits the marking first: ?Queen Anne?s Revenge.?
?Incorrect,? answers Olmec.
Theresa rings in: ?Adventure Galley???
?Silver Snakes, step down,? Kirk says, and the Silver Snakes move down to the second level. ?Next question, Olmec.?
Olmec asks:
?According to legend, did he bury his treasure on???
A stomp by Jessica cuts Olmec off: ?Treasure Island.?
?Orange Iguanas, step down,? says Kirk, and the Orange Iguanas join the Silver Snakes on the second step. ?Next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?Was Captain Kidd infamous for: Sacking and burning ships, Robbing and sinking ships or Robbing and burning ships??
After a moment, Lance gongs in first: ?Robbing and? sinking ships.?
?That is correct,? says Olmec in response.
?All right! Silver Snakes already only one step away from the Temple Games,? says Kirk as the Silver Snakes move down to the second-to-last step. ?We?re looking for two teams.  Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?According to our legend, which of these pirates was coming after Captain Kidd?s treasure: Blackbeard, Jean Lafitte or???
David interrupts Olmec this time: ?Blackbeard.?
?Correct,? Olmec replies.
?Purple Parrots can catch up at any time,? Kirk comments as the Red Jaguars move down to the second step. ?Let?s keep going.?
Olmec?s next question is:
?In our legend, was the key to the treasure chest???
David cuts Olmec off again: ?It was? uh? Captain Kidd?s? Silver Earring.?
?That IS correct,? answers Olmec.
?Red Jaguars suddenly one step away from the Temple Games!? announces Kirk as the Red Jaguars step down again. ?Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?In the legend, was Captain Kidd told Blackbeard was after him by his: First mate, Quartermaster or Cabin boy??
Kristen buzzes in: ?Um? Quartermaster???
?That is correct!? shouts Olmec, and the Red Jaguars jump down onto the bottom step.
?Nice come-from-behind, and the Red Jaguars are the first team going on to the Temple Games!? Kirk announces as the Red Jaguars begin to high-five and celebrate on the bottom step. ?We?re still looking for one more team, and who?s it gonna be? Next question.?
Olmec then asks:
?Was his quartermaster?s name: Henry, Hendrick or Harleq???
Theresa stomps in: ?Hendrick???
?THAT IS CORRECT!? booms Olmec?s voice, and the Silver Snakes jump down beside the Red Jaguars.
?All right! We got our two teams right here!? The camera shows Kirk standing one step behind the two teams, who are jumping up and down and celebrating with each other. ?It?s the Red Jaguars and the Silver Snakes! Orange Iguanas, Purple Parrots, great effort.  You?re not going away empty-handed, we got a great gift for you for playing and here?s what it is.?
Dee reads the consolation prize:
"Look at the entertaining fun you?ll have when you strap on Moon Shoes.  Super excitement is yours when you bounce higher than ever! Don?t leave Earth without Moon Shoes, from Big Time Toys!"
The camera switches back to Kirk with the Red Jaguars and Silver Snakes. ?These two teams will be playing for the right to enter into Olmec?s Temple? right after this!? The camera zooms out, then pans over to the Cathedral and fades to commercial.
Title: Rediscovery EP: The Silver Earring of Captain Kidd
Post by: The Ancient Warrior on October 30, 2009, 06:55:10 PM
Kirk is standing between the two remaining teams and in front of the Great Chasm. ?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?Now of course the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let?s get to know our team players.? He turns stage-left to interview the tall boy with short platinum blond hair, hazel eyes and freckles. ?On the Silver Snakes, we have Lance.  How old are you??
?Fourteen,? he answers.
?And I understand you play basketball and you wanna travel the world,? says Kirk, reading the player profiles off an index card. ?Any places you wanna go??
?Um,? Lance thinks for a second, ?definitely Japan, England, Spain, Brazil, China?? He stops supplying countries and just gives a cool nod and smile.
?Ah, cool,? Kirk says, going to interview the girl to Lance?s left, who has curly, dark hair and is only a couple inches shorter than her partner. ?And also on the Silver Snakes, we have Theresa.  How old are you??
?Fourteen,? she answers.
?And I understand you practice a bit of kung fu, but you?re really into music,? Kirk says. ?Tell me about that.?
?Um? I wanna learn a lot of instruments and? um? make my own music some day,? Theresa answers. ?I know some guitar, some piano? maybe violin some time.?
?Nice, maybe you can be in a band someday,? says Kirk. ?Let?s hear it for the Silver Snakes!? Lance and Theresa wave and applaud with the audience as Kirk turns to interview the Red Jaguar boy on the right, who?s slightly overweight and has short hair, reddish cheeks and brown eyes. ?On the Red Jaguars, we have David.  How old are you, David??
?Thirteen,? he replies, his braces visible as he speaks.
?And it says here you play football in the fall and hockey in the winter,? Kirk reads from the index card. ?Tell me about that.?
?Well,? David explains, ?I?m pretty competitive? I, um, I?ve been playing for my school for a couple years.?
?So tell me,? Kirk asks, ?which is? are you better at??
?Um? Not sure,? he answers with a laugh.
?All right,? Kirk comments. ?Wonder if we might have a little one-on-one here.? He then goes to talk to the brown-haired girl on the far right of the screen. ?And also on the Red Jaguars, we have Kristen.  How old are you??
?Thirteen,? she answers with a smile.
?And I understand you like to hang out at the mall with your friends, you play soccer and you have a lot of pets.  How many??
?Um? twenty-one,? answers Kristen. ?Six cats, fifteen fish.?
?That?s a lot of pets,? Kirk comments. ?And this sounds like a strong Red Jaguars team.  Let?s hear it for ?em!? David and Kristen applaud with the audience.

?All right! Now, why don?t you guys go get ready for the Temple Games,? Kirk says, and the players walk offscreen in different directions. ?In the Temple Games, each team will be competing for?" he opens a pouch and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "these Pendants of Life.  The winning team will need those Pendants to protect them from the DREADED Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple.  There are three Temple Games.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #1.?

Olmec begins:
?As a pirate, Captain Kidd spent a lot of his time at sea, traveling from place to place in the Adventure Galley.  In this game, you only need to make one journey.  When Kirk gives the signal, sail to the island, then turn around, grab the floating ring and pull yourself back to the dock.
?The first player to sail to the island and return with both feet on the dock? or the player that?s further along after 30 seconds? wins.?
?Both players ready? All right, time to set sail,? Kirk says, standing in the middle of the dock. ?Let?s put 30 seconds on the clock.? A countdown clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
Both David and Lance make great time getting to the islands, though David gets there about a second sooner and has his boat turned all the way around first as a result (:17).  He also pulls himself back to the dock at a fast clip, returning with eight seconds left and meeting Kirk a lot sooner than Lance does.
?All right, that?s it!? Kirk announces. ?Red Jaguars made it back before time ended.  They get a half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds briefly. ?Silver Snakes can catch up in the next game, it?s worth a half Pendant too.  Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #2.?

Olmec continues:
?According to legend, Captain Kidd hid most of his treasure in a chest on Treasure Island, and the key was his silver earring.  In this game, however, you need a nine-digit combination to open a different treasure chest.  In a moment, you?ll be shown the sequence to open the treasure chest.  When Kirk gives the signal, you?ll place your stopper into what you think is the first hole in the sequence.  If you?re right, nothing will happen, and you?ll leave your stopper where it is.  But, if you?re wrong, you?ll be squirted with Caribbean seawater, then you?ll remove your stopper and try to guess the next number in the sequence.
?The player that gets the most numbers in the sequence correct wins.?
?We?re not gonna set the clock for this one,? Kirk explains. ?Olmec, show us the sequence.?
The Steps of Knowledge music starts to play, and water squirts from the numbered holes in the order 8-5-4-2-9-7-3-6-1.
?All right, now we?ve seen the sequence,? Kirk says. ?Players, grab the first stoppers and make your first choice.? Kristen and Theresa grab their first stoppers and both place them on the 8 hole on their respective boards. ?And? squirt!? No water appears, and the audience applauds.
?Okay, one point both teams.  Just leave your stoppers there.  Make your next choice!? Both girls cover the 5 hole with a stopper. ?And? squirt!? No water appears again, and the audience applauds one more time.
?Two points each, nice job so far! All right, make your next choice.? Kristen covers the 4 hole, while Theresa covers the 9 hole. ?Squirt!? Kristen remains dry, but Theresa is squirted.
?All right, Red Jaguars scored, Silver Snakes didn?t score.  Make your next choice.? Both girls choose the 9 hole. ?Squirt!? Both girls are squirted this time.
?All right, nobody scored, it?s still 3-2,? Kirk comments. ?Make your next choice.? Kristen keeps her stopper on 9, while Theresa moves to 7. ?And? squirt!? Only Theresa is squirted.
?All right, 4-2 Red Jaguars.  Make your next choice!? Kristen chooses the 3 hole, but Theresa keeps her stopper on 7. ?Squirt!? Theresa isn?t squirted, but Kristen is.
?Silver Snakes scored that time!? Kirk remarks. ?Next choice.? Kristen moves the stopper to 2, while Theresa puts a stopper on 3. ?Choice? er, squirt!? Once again, only Kristen is squirted.
?It?s all tied up!? Kirk explains as the audience cheers. ?Make your next choice!? Kristen moves to the 7 hole, while Theresa chooses the 6 hole. ?Squirt!? Kristen is the only one squirted again.
?All right, this is the last one.  Make one more choice!? Kristen puts her stopper on the 2 hole again, but Theresa covers the 1 hole. ?Squirt!? Kristen is squirted again, but Theresa isn?t.
?That?s it!? Kirk announces. ?Let?s see?? He counts up the stoppers in place. ?Red Jaguars got four correct guesses, but Silver Snakes got six! Really came back in the end, and they get the half Pendant of Life!? Kirk and Theresa high-five as the audience applauds. ?So it?s all tied up, a half Pendant apiece.  The next game is worth a full Pendant.  It?s the third and final game.  Olmec, tell us.?

Olmec narrates:
?According to legend, a lot of different pirates wanted Captain Kidd?s treasure.  On the wall above you are the names of four pirates: ?Calico Jack,? ?Jean Lafitte,? ?Henry Morgan? and ?Blackbeard.? When Kirk gives the signal, load the slingshot and fire a ball.  Your partner will then catch the ball and stick it onto the first target.  Once you?ve covered a target, that pirate captain?s ship has been sunk, and you can climb up and try to complete the next stage.
?The first team to sink all the ships after Captain Kidd? or the team that?s further along in 60 seconds? wins!?
?It?s all tied up, half Pendant apiece.  Whoever wins this goes on the Temple Run,? Kirk reminds the audience. ?Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.? The countdown clock appears onscreen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
The Red Jaguars start off with better aim than the Silver Snakes; Kristen manages to shoot a ball that David can catch pretty early, and he sticks it on ?Calico Jack? with a total 52 seconds left.  Lance finally sticks a ball on ?Calico Jack? with forty seconds to go, and starts to follow David up to ?Jean Lafitte.? However, the Jaguars cover ?Jean Lafitte? a moment later and maintain their lead.  They even cover ?Henry Morgan? with 26 seconds remaining, while the Snakes are stuck at ?Jean Lafitte.?
?Silver Snakes gotta scramble!? Kirk remarks as the Snakes finally cover ?Jean Lafitte? with nineteen seconds to go.  They try to catch up, but the game ends with fourteen seconds on the clock as David covers ?Blackbeard.?
?And that?s it! C?mon down guys! C?mon over girls!? Kirk announces, reappearing onscreen. ?Red Jaguars sank all the ships with fifteen seconds left, so they get the full Pendant, giving them a Pendant and a half? they?re goin? to the Temple!? Kristen squeals in excitement and high-fives David, while Kirk goes to talk with the Silver Snakes. ?Silver Snakes gave it a great effort too, it was a tough match.  We got a great gift for them just for playing and here?s what it is.? Lance and Theresa will each be receiving Transformers: Cybertron Optimus Prime and Megatron action figures.
The camera cuts back to David and Kristen with Kirk in front of the equipment for the third Temple Game. ?Now we?ll see if the Red Jaguars can make it through Olmec?s Temple and retrieve the Silver Earring of Captain Kidd,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera weaves around the equipment in the Temple Games arena and zooms in on the peephole in the Temple Guard door in the Dungeon before fading to commercial.

Kirk stands in front of the Temple's stairs next to David and Kristen. "Welcome back to Legends!" he says to the camera. "The Green Monkeys have proven themselves worthy and have earned the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, Olmec's gonna give them some information to help them retrieve the Silver Earring of Captain Kidd."
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
?You could start by climbing through the Crevasse and climbing down into the Great Chasm.  Crawl through the pit, then race into the Crystal Cave.  Pull down the correct icicle, and you could choose to go up into the Cathedral, or into the Junction of the Secret Shafts.  If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Switch Inferno.  Hit the right actuator to go upstairs, or plow through the wall and into the Dungeon.
?Climb up the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage into the Geographer?s Study.  Take the correct book off the bookshelf to open the door to the SHRIIIIIIIIIIIIINE? of the Silver Monkey, where you can grab the Silver Earring of Captain Kidd.  Assemble the statue, and you may be headed toward the Knights? Barracks.  Place the sword in the correct sheath, and you could enter the Laser Light Room.  Find the right combination to unleash the power of the laser, and swing on the rope back across the Great Chasm.  Then, pass through the Arctic Antechamber, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate.  The choices are yours and yours alone!? Olmec pauses for a second. "You won 1 ? Pendants in the Temple Games.  Who's going first??
"I am," says David.
"Very well, David!" replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Silver Earring.  Hidden inside the Temple are three ventilation shafts that let out in the Junction of the Secret Shafts, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms.  You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on BUT if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and it'll be Kristen's turn to enter and try her luck.  Hidden inside the Temple is the other half of your Pendant.  If you can find it and you?re carrying the other half, you will get an extra life.  If you can reach the Earring, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish.  Return through the gates with the Earring in three minutes, and you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how!"
?   For just getting into the Temple, they?re both going to get Compton?s Interactive Encyclopedia on CD-ROM, provided by Compton?s New Media.
?   If they can grab the Earring in three minutes, they?re both going to get a Schwinn Mesa mountain bike.
?   And if they can get the Silver Earring out of the Temple before 3 minutes is up, they?ll both be cruising to the Bahamas! A four-day cruise aboard Norwegian Cruise Line, with two pools, volleyball and basketball courts.  Norwegian Cruise Line.  It?s different out there.  A four-day cruise to the Bahamas, for a prize package totaling $14,472!

"Time to see if we can get these Green Monkeys? er, Red Jaguars on that cruise," Kirk says before turning to David. "All right, David, let?s get you into position.  Both of you, put your mouthpieces in? you never know when you?re gonna have to run in.  Put three minutes on the clock." The countdown clock appears onscreen. "Olmec, will you lower your gate?"
Olmec groans gutturally as he lowers the gate; the blue lights under him are turned off.
"On your mark, get set, GO!"

?There goes David! Up into the Temple, with a Pendant and a half!? Kirk announces as David jogs up the stairs.  He enters the Arctic Antechamber and pushes down all three walls, but the door to the Great Chasm doesn?t open up (2:45).  He goes down through the open door into the Crevasse, where he takes a while getting through the ledges to get down to the lower crawl tube.  As he gets close to the bottom, however, he feels an arm tugging at his ankles?
?TEMPLE GUARD!? Kirk shouts as David is grabbed with 2:26 remaining. ?He?s gotta give up his Pendant n? move on!? David quickly passes the Pendant over to the guard in the bottom section of the Crevasse, then hits the actuator for the lower crawl tube and moves into the Great Chasm (2:17).  He heads straight over to the wall and immediately starts climbing up (2:11). ?Next time a Temple Guard gets ?im, it?ll be turn for Alyssa!? David makes good time scaling the wall, getting up on the ledge with 1:56 remaining.  He hits the actuator for the Cathedral door; the door opens and he goes on, but before he can work on the room objective, out jumps the second TEMPLE GUARD!
?Oh, there he goes! Go Kristen!? Kirk shouts, sending Kristen into the Temple after David is captured with 1:50 remaining.  She slides down into the Crevasse, scrambles through the ledges and enters the Great Chasm with 1:37 to go.  She climbs up the wall to get to the Cathedral door; she reaches the door with 1:23 left and crawls into the room, passing up the half Pendant on the door actuator.
?She passes up the half Pendant!? Kirk remarks. ?Hope that won?t come back to haunt her!? Kristen starts to look around the room for the missing pieces of glass to complete the window.  She finds them without a lot of trouble, getting each one in place as soon as she finds it.  The first one is placed with 1:14 remaining, the second with 1:07 left and the last with 59 seconds to go.  When the window is completed, the black pattern on the walls lights up violet, and the door into the Knights? Barracks opens; Kristen moves on with 56 seconds left.
?This is fast? she?s now just one room away from the Silver Earring of Captain Kidd!? Kirk explains.  Kristen looks around for a second, but she then grabs the sword from the front railing and tries putting it in the different sheaths, starting with the rightmost and moving stage-left.  The middle sheath opens the door into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey with 47 seconds remaining, and Kristen goes on in.  She spends a few seconds trying to find the artifact, but finally she goes to the pedestal in the front of the room and, with 41 seconds to go, grabs the SILVER EARRING!
?She?s got the Earring! All the doors are open!? Kirk shouts out as Kristen starts to double back.  She runs back through the Knights? Barracks and starts heading up the stairwell into the Laser Light Room with 37 seconds on the clock. ?All right, now she?s gonna? she?s headed down into the Cathedral Room! Thirty seconds!? Kristen lands in the Cathedral with 30 seconds to go, then heads on into the Great Chasm with 26 seconds remaining.  She reaches out for the rope and swings across, then enters the Arctic Antechamber with twenty seconds to go. ?Oh, it could be close! C?mon!? Kristen runs through the Arctic Antechamber, races down the stairs and makes it out of the Temple with 13 seconds left!
?They did it! She got it!? Kirk shouts out as Kristen meets him and David. ?Bring me the Earring! Give me the Earring!? Kristen hands the Earring over to Kirk, and he holds it up in the air as the audience cheers.  David and Kristen hug and high-five as Kirk shows the Silver Earring to the camera. ?They did it all, they got the Silver Earring of Captain Kidd! It was really close, but they got it all! They get the Compton?s New Media?. AND the mountain bikes? AND they?re going on that cruise to the Caribbean!? Kristen jumps up and down and shrieks in excitement, high-fiving Kirk in the middle of her celebration. ?I wish I could stay with this team all day, but we gotta go.  Join us next time for more adventure and another great Legend of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!? The camera shows rooms like the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, Cathedral and Crystal Cave? along with the Red Jaguars chatting and celebrating with Kirk? as the credits roll.

Temple Run Summary
Episode 80px]

Name of Artifact: The Silver Earring of Captain Kidd
Season: 2
Layout: 5 (9 overall)
Result: Made it!
Time Remaining: 0:13
Team: Red Jaguars
Pendants Won: 1 ?
Location of Artifact: The Shrine of the Silver Monkey

Just like in the original series, it's because of simplistic Temple Runs like this that the Red Jaguars racked up an inordinate amount of victories.  All three of the Temple Runs that involved a direct path to the artifact became Red Jaguars wins.  David and Kristen were not poor players, however.

Additionally, even though this is the only time the players could enter five rooms and still get the artifact, this could be considered the toughest of the three direct-path runs because the players were forced down into the Crevasse (which burly David had a bit of trouble getting through), had to climb the Great Chasm wall and then needed to complete the objectives of the Cathedral and Knights' Barracks? more work than going through the bottom floor, really.  David cleared three rooms before he was taken out of the Cathedral with 1:50 left.  Kristen was a tad faster, and she also started in the Crevasse, a smart move.  She got to the Silver Earring with forty seconds left and made it out with thirteen on the clock.

Trivia and Records:
This was the last of the three direct-path Temple Runs.  It was also the only episode on the Layout IX "icebergs" production day where the Green Monkeys didn't make it to the Temple, which led to Kirk flubbing the team name a lot in the Temple Run (he called them Green Monkeys twice? correcting himself only once? and once referred to Kristen as Alyssa from "The Ace of Spades of Black Jack Ketchum").
