Title: Legends of the Hidden Temple: Rebirth-Layouts & Episo...
Post by: The Bandit King on July 24, 2009, 12:17:02 PM
As you may have seen from some of my previous posts, I have been planning on posting some of my own fanfics.  Before I do that, however, I feel it’s common courtesy to give you the Temple Layouts and the fanfic titles I plan to use.

A few notes about the show: This show is a theoretical "rejuvenation" of Legends, which takes place in the present (as in right now, 2009-2010). Therefore, the prizes and allusions in the fanfics will reflect this. There will also be a few more changes that will be introduced as I go along.

The Temple Layouts

Each number corresponds with the number on the map.

Season 1
Season 1 has five Temple Layouts.

Layout 1
1. The Crypt--Same thing as the old show.
2. The Ledges--Same as always.
3. The Rope Labyrinth--This room is a large pit with numerous actuators leading to every room it borders.  Strewn around the room are several thick, white ropes that obstruct the contestant’s pathway to the other side.  The top half of the room contains more ropes than the bottom half, so no matter if a contestant enters the Temple via the Crypt or the Ledges, they will still have to crawl through some sort of obstacle to proceed.
4. The Great Seal Room--This room has a cylindrical column in the center, and at the back, a free-standing shelf with four distinct round seals on it.  The contestant must place the correct seal in a small indentation at the top of the column to open the door to the next room.
5. The Chamber of the Sacred Markers--Same as Season 3 of the old show.
6. The Tomb of the Headless Kings--This “veteran room” sees a major change this time around.  There are still two kings, but only one vine which opens the trapdoors, significantly reducing the amount of time needed to progress through the room.
7. The Safari Room--This room’s walls are decorated in animal-print, and five (fake) heads of African animals are mounted on the walls—two on either side of the room, and three in the back.  Going from left to right, the heads are those of a leopard, a rhinoceros, an elephant, a Cape buffalo, and a lion.  The contestant must push in the correct animal head to open the door to the next room.
8. The Bamboo Forest--Same as the Season 1 Bamboo Forest in the old show (here’s looking at you, TBF!).
9. The Shrine of the Silver Monkey--Could you really have Legends without this room?
10. The Dark Forest--Essentially the same, except the trees’ arms are quite a bit longer. The golden doors in the back lead to Room 11, Room 9, and Room 7, respectively.
11. The Room of the Secret Password--Same room, except the password “Klaatu barata nikto” has been replaced with “Dr. Livingstone, I presume”.
12. The Dungeon--Exactly the same room as Season 1 of the old Legends.
13. The Pharaoh’s Secret Passage--Same old, same old.

Layout 2
1. The Crypt
2. The Ledges
3. The Bottomless Pit--This room is essentially identical to The Pit from Season 2 of the old Legends.  A large room, filled with numerous plastic balls on the bottom, with two stone outcroppings on either side (the only difference is that the balls are colored black and purple).  The contestant must swing across on a rope hanging in the room and hit the actuator to open the door to the next room.
4. The Lookout Tower--This room contains nothing but a small telescope on the railing, looking out at the wall behind the audience, where a message is written.  However, the telescope is out of focus.  The contestant must use the two knobs on the left and right side of the telescope to focus it.  As soon as they can discern the message, they must yell out what it says to open the door to the next room.
5. The Geographer’s Study--This room is decorated with two old-fashioned globes on either side of it, but its most distinguishing characteristic is a large map of the world at the back (separated, of course, by the ladder into the Lookout Tower).  This map is missing several pieces, which are strewn about the room.  The contestant must find these pieces and correctly place them to open the door to the next room.
6. The Owl’s Nest--Six nests are arranged in a circle in the center of this room, and strewn all over the room are numerous stuffed owls.  The contestant must find the sole white owl among the other brown or gray ones, and then attach it to the one nest out of the six that it belongs on to open the door to the next room.
7. The Inventor’s Workshop--This room has a large capstan in the center of it, and a large “machine” with numerous gears dons the back wall.  The contestant must spin the capstan completely around four times, until the gears begin to turn (actually, the lighting in the room only gives the impression that they turn), and the door to the next room opens.
8. The Chamber of the Four Elements--Decorated like a Roman temple, this room has a large rectangle in the back separated into four parts.  Around the edges of the rectangle are four large tiles that fit into these slots.  These tiles are decorated with symbols of the four ancient Roman elements—fire, air, earth, and water.  The contestant must place the four tiles in the rectangle, in the correct order, to open the door to the next room.  In this Temple Layout, he tiles have no set order, so ANY combination could be the correct one, making this a very time-consuming room.  The room also has two ladders at the back, which lead to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey and the Inventor’s Workshop.
9. The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
10. The Dark Forest
11. The Room of the Secret Password
12. The Dungeon
13. The Pharaoh’s Secret Passage

Layout 3
1. The Crypt
2. The Ledges
3. The Bottomless Pit
4. The Lunar Landing--This room is decorated like the 1969 moon landing.  At the back of the room is a rotating cylinder decorated like a satellite.  Similar to the Season 1 Observatory, the contestant must align a puzzle on the satellite to open the door to the next room.
5. The Clockwork Room--This room has six clocks on the back wall (separated of course, by the Temple Guard door), with a seventh clock on the Temple Guard door itself.  The contestant must set the six clocks to the same time as the seventh clock (usually 12:00, but sometimes 6:00) to open the door to the next room.
6. The Atlantean Altar--Decorated up like sunken ruins, this room has eight tiles on the back wall (four on each side, similar to the Laser Light Room).  The contestant needs to uncover the tile that has blue light behind it to open the door to the next room.  Olmec calls this “uncovering the tile that lets in the waters of Atlantis”.
7. The Room of the Mystical Keys (used with permission from silverMarker)--There are 9 small compartments aligned in the back of the room (3x3).  The contestant must reach into the compartments and find two keys that are hidden in one each, and then place each one in the correct two of three respective pedestals to open the door.
8. The Jungle Ruins--This room is decorated like an ancient city in the rain forest, with stone structures, rocks and plants galore all over the room.  Like the Swamp from Season 2 of the old Legends, the contestant must maneuver around all this to get to the other side of the room to hit an actuator to go to the next room.
9. The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
10. The Dark Forest
11. The Room of the Secret Password
12. The Dungeon
13. The Pharaoh’s Secret Passage

Layout 4
1. The Crypt
2. The Ledges
3. The Rope Labyrinth
4. The Sculptor's Studio--This room has three pedestals with a statue on top of each one.  Like the King’s Storeroom, the contestant must break open the hollow sculptures to find a key, which they then insert in the correct hole on the pedestals to open the door to the next room.
5. The Chamber of the Sacred Markers
6. The Owl’s Nest
7. The Inventor’s Workshop
8. The Ancient Cave--This room, which is decorated like a cave, has a series of “cave paintings” depicting “cavemen” on the back wall.  Just like the Jester’s Court from Season 3 of the old Legends, the contestant must align their body with the correct wall painting to open the door to the next room.  The room also contains two ladders at the back, which lead to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey and the Inventor’s Workshop.
9. The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
10. The Dark Forest
11. The Room of the Secret Password
12. The Dungeon
13. The Pharaoh’s Secret Passage

Layout 5
1. The Crypt
2. The Ledges
3. The Rope Labyrinth
4. The Magician’s Chamber--There are three pedestals in this room, each with a top hat on it.  The contestant must wave their hand over the top hats to find the (stuffed) rabbit, which will jump out when the hat that contains it is waved over.  The rabbit must then be pulled out of the hat to open the door to the next room.
5. The Clockwork Room
6. The Atlantean Altar
7. The Room of the Golden Torches (used with permission from The Bamboo Forest)--There are three golden torches in the three pedestals of the room, and each has a large bulb on top. The contestant must take a long stick with a "flame" on its tip (just another bulb like the ones on the torches) and touch the tips of the three torches gently. When the correct one lights up, the doors open.
8. The Snake Pit--This room is identical to the Jungle Ruins, except that most of the plants and stone structures are gone, and numerous rubber snakes litter the room—seven, to be exact.  The contestant must place all seven snakes in a large tree stump at the back of the room to open the door to the next room.
9. The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
10. The Dark Forest
11. The Room of the Secret Password
12. The Dungeon
13. The Pharaoh’s Secret Passage

Season 2
Season 2 only has three Temple layouts.

Layout 1
1. The Crypt
2. The Ledges
3. The Bottomless Pit
4. The Great Seal Room
5. The Candelabra Room--Located on the back wall of this room are six candelabras—three to the right of the door to the Great Seal Room, and three to the left of it.  The contestant must push the actuator under the correct candelabra to light it up, which will open the door to the next room.
6. The Tomb of the Headless Kings
7. The Safari Room
8. The Snake Pit--Same room, new objective. The snakes are now made of cloth bags stuffed with pellets, like a beanbag, and they're much larger, about the size of a door draft-guard. The contestant must find all the snakes in the room (either two or three, depending on the episode) and thread them through a large hole in the side of the tree stump to open the door to the next room.
9. The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
10. The Dark Forest
11. The Lightning Ball Room--Exactly the same as the old Lightning Ball Room.
12. The Dungeon
13. The Pharaoh’s Secret Passage

Layout 2
1. The Crypt
2. The Ledges
3. The Bottomless Pit
4. The Lookout Tower
5. The Geographer’s Study
6. The Jewel Mine--In the center of this room is a stationary mine cart. Scattered about the room are ten jewels. The contestant must place all the jewels in the mine cart to open the door to the next room. A Temple Guard may also be hiding in the mine cart.
7. The Shaolin Dojo--Sort of like the Room of the Ancient Warriors, except I’ve added my own twist to it.  A yin-yang symbol at the front of the room, and at the back are three suits of armor.  The player must place the yin-yang on the chest of the correct suit of armor to open the door to the next room.  One of the suits of armor could be possessed by a Temple Guard.
8. The Chamber of the Four Elements--Same name, same objective, one big difference--above the slots where the element tiles should go, a pattern above them indicates the correct tile for the slot.  This greatly reduces the amount of time that must be spent in the room.
9. The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
10. The Dark Forest
11. The Lightning Ball Room
12. The Dungeon
13. The Pharaoh’s Secret Passage

Layout 3
1. The Crypt
2. The Ledges
3. The Rope Labyrinth
4. The Sculptor's Studio
5. The Room of the Mystical Keys
6. The Atlantean Altar
7. The Safari Room
8. The Ancient Cave
9. The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
10. The Dark Forest
11. The Lightning Ball Room
12. The Dungeon
13. The Pharaoh’s Secret Passage

Tournament of Champions Layout
1. The Crypt
2. The Ledges
3. The Rope Labyrinth
4. The Lunar Landing
5. The Chamber of the Sacred Markers
6. The Tomb of Forgotten Treasures--This room consists of eight compartments at the back of the room, each one filled with an artifact from a previous episode.  The player must find the artifact from the episode they first appeared on and place it on a pedestal in order to proceed.
7. The Emperor’s Storeroom--This new room is a nod to the King’s Storeroom from episodes past.  Decorated like a Chinese temple, it features six pedestals near the back of the room, with enough space between them and the back wall for the player to walk between.  Each pedestal has a ceramic pot decorated like a priceless Ming vase.  The player must smash the vases in search of a key, then insert said key into the right hole in one of the pedestals to open the door to the next room.
8. The Ancient Cave
9. The Shrine of the Silver Monkey
10. The Dark Forest
11. The Tortoise’s Territory--A long, narrow post stands in the center of the room, and six turtle shells are arranged in a row at the back.  The player must stack the turtle shells on the post, in order from smallest to largest, to open the door to the next room.  Only the smallest shell will go on the bottom, only the next-to-smallest shell will go on top of the smallest shell, etc.
12. The Dungeon
13. The Pharaoh’s Secret Passage

And now, the episodes themselves.  Hope I didn’t duplicate (or come close to duplicating) anybody’s.  If I did, I profoundly and deeply apologize.

UPDATE:
I've uploaded a few more episodes, and changed the name of my future fanfic of "The Bullet-Shot Playing Card of Charles Cognetz" to "The Bullet-Pierced Playing Card of Charles Cognetz.

In addition, I've decided to nix "The Brass Astrolabe of Nicolas de Ovando" in favor of another episode. Any ideas for replacements would be appreciated.

UPDATE:

I've changed "The Brass Astrolabe of Nicolas de Ovando" to "The Modified Charts of Pedro Alvares Cabral. Also, I only recently realized that TAW has done a legend about Akhenaton, so I've changed "The Smashed Statue of Akhenaton" to "The Smashed Statue of Darius the Second".

I've also added a new room to one of my layouts--The Clockwork Room.

So, is Season 1 production order and Season 2 alphabetical/airing order? Or is there a different system for you sorting episodes?

Yeah. Thing was, I was just too lazy to sort the Season 2 Episodes, so I just put 'em in alphabetical order for right now. I might order them differently later if I feel like it.

UPDATE:

Episode 10 is now up.
Also, since my college classes start tomorrow, production of these things is going to become quite a bit slower (as in one episode every 2 or 3 weeks   ). Please understand.

Well, looks like he beat you to actually writing stuff.  I think it'd be way easier for you to just change the title than it would be for him, seeing as you haven't even posted one episode. ^^;

Sorry...I actually saw your post, and was waiting for you to post something before I actually started this thing. Since you didn't post anything for several days, I went ahead and did it. If you really want, I can change my project name, instead of you changing yours (since you did come up with it first...)

Since lothtfan didn't respond to my invitation to let him use Rebirth for his project name the last time he was on here, my project name will remain the same.
Episode 11 should be up sometime tonight or tomorrow. Keep an eye out for it.

After a brief hiatus, I'm back on track. "The Broken Helmet of Erik the Red" is now up, and expect the next episode to appear sometime later this week.

Well, looks like he beat you to actually writing stuff.  I think it'd be way easier for you to just change the title than it would be for him, seeing as you haven't even posted one episode. ^^;

Well, I've written an episode of my own, and it's far better than his! (no offense, TBK) And, I think when you, TAW, write back comments to me, I find 'em a little mean, and I don't like that.    :!:

That's because you're trying to force me to write a certain way and not listening to any of my calm replies.  The first few times, I thought I sounded polite, but since you kept telling me to write certain things in... well, you can see why I got mad at you.

But yeah, now I'm disappointed that you haven't moved on even though TBK and everyone else has dropped the issue.  You might've claimed the name, but TBK put up material way sooner.  He was ready and actually dedicated enough to deserve the rights to that name, in my opinion. (What's three-eighths of an epilogue by you compared to 15 full ones by him? He's been more productive by a long shot.)

Finish that first episode and you might convince me your work's better than his, though.

Oh my god... Once in a while we have some n00bs who think everything they make is better than everyone else's. Trust me, after being in the RCT3 community for two years where fanmade projects are extremely common, I would know.

Constructive criticism would be appreciated by TAW, I'm sure, but I think he just really wants to develop his own project. We can't be making every single episode a Green Monkeys win, you know.

Mods: This is not an attempt to flame; I am stepping into this because I have had experience with this kind of situation. Sorry if this is unacceptable behavior.

Okay, I'm thinking about doing some "interviews" with a few randomly selected contestants.  But if I do, they probably won't be up until much later--probably when Season 1 is finished.

I just wanted to get some opinions: should I do interviews or not?

UPDATE:

Sorry to report that the "surprise" has gone out the window. I had made a cool piece of artwork--you know, something I could put at the head of the first page of this thread, at the top of each of my episodes from now on, that sort of thing? Anyway, when I tried to upload it to Photobucket, it didn't show up for some reason. So...sorry if I got everybody so worked up for nothing.

I may try to make another piece of artwork (a banner or something) and see what happens if I upload that one. If anybody else wants to try to make one for me, that'd be okay too. Not that I'm trying to goad anyone into doing it, it'd just be pretty cool.

That being said, I'm still working on Episode 28, and it'll take at least a few days to finish.

UPDATE:

With my computer problems now behind me, I'm glad to say I'm back on track. Episode 30 is up, along with a new announcement:

After much deliberation, I've decided to start my own "Tournament of Champions" for this series.  This will work just like TAW's Tournament--twenty teams you guys vote for will come back in a five-episode tournament to find out who truly is the best of the best.  However, to find out which episodes will be in the tournament, I'm doing something new.

You--yes, YOU, the readers--get to choose which five episodes will be in my Tournament of Champions. The ten episode titles you can vote for are on the first page of this post, along with the episode directory. PM me your votes for five, and only five, titles--voting starts now, and is closed at the end of this month. After the episode titles are announced, there'll be no more voting until the first installment of Season 2 episodes are finished, when you'll have the opportunity to vote for which 16 teams you want to see battle it out in my Tournament. Until then, send in your five episode title nominees, and keep on reading Legends: Rebirth!

UPDATE:

Well, since only ONE person voted for my contest, I'm extending it another month. If I don't get any more votes, then congratulations to this particular person: the five episode titles you voted for will be the first ever Legends: Rebirth Tournament of Champions. I may recycle the other five for other episodes, or even another Tournament.

That said, the next episode is still in the works and should be finished in a few days.

UPDATE:

Another month has come and gone, and still, the one vote stands.  Therefore, the five episodes in the Tournament will be:

The Bronze Helmet of the Spartan General
The Dragon-Tooth Necklace of Medea
The Golden Bracelet of Niobe
The Mummified Paw of the Egyptian Cat
The Snapped Sword of Tobari

The other five? They'll be recycled, and re-used if and when I ever do a Season 3.

Trivia
? Numerous changes were present in this ?new and improved? set of Legends.  For one, there?s much more plant life than the original set.
? Olmec looks about the same, except his headdress is a bit bigger, and he?s now lit up with black lights, which simulates a jungle at night very well.
? ?Klatu barata nikto? was replaced with ?Dr. Livingstone, I presume? in the Room of the Secret Password (possibly because the kids in the original series had trouble pronouncing it).
? The Tomb of the Headless Kings arguably saw the biggest change in this Legends revival?there is only one vine in the room, which when pulled, opens all the trap doors.
? The first episode was ?The Infamous Lion Skin of the Tsavo Hunter?, which was also the first win.
? The first episode in which an artifact is grabbed, but not brought out of the Temple, was ?The Silk Cummerbund of Elvis Presley?.
? Out of the 40 episodes of Season 1, twelve episodes see the artifact successfully brought out of the Temple.  In addition, five artifacts were grabbed, but not brought out.
? The fastest win to date is ?The Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine?.  Green Monkey Justin brought the artifact out with 1:01 left on the clock.
? The closest win to date is ?The Stone Nose of the Easter Island Statue?.  Purple Parrot Jamie made it out with the artifact with one second to spare.
? The closest loss so far is ?The Lost Knife Sheath of Jim Bowie?.  Orange Iguana Lee was just about to come down the stairs with the artifact when time ran out.
? The closest failed acquisition of an artifact occurred in ?The Monogrammed Printing Plate of Johann Gutenberg?.  Green Monkey Michael was only a few inches away from grabbing the artifact when time expired.
? The first solo run occurred in ?The Burnt French Flag of Louis the Thirteenth?.  Red Jaguar Eddie made it out with the artifact with 22 seconds to spare.
? The first episode in which no Temple Guards are encountered during the Temple Run was ?The Scorched Cake Pan of Alfred the Great?.
? The first episode in which a run is ended by a third Temple Guard was ?The Original Spelling Book of Noah Webster?.
? Only one player has passed through all twelve rooms in the Temple: Orange Iguana Adam from ?The Feathered Crown of Netzahualcoyotl?.
? Other than the pit-area rooms, every room area has housed a Temple Guard at least once.
? The room that has housed a Temple Guard most often is the Tomb of the Headless Kings.  In the fourteen episodes that it has appeared in so far, half of them see a Temple Guard hiding there.
? No artifact was ever retrieved from the Great Seal Room, the Geographer?s Study, the Atlantean Altar, the Sculptor?s Studio, the Clockwork Room, or the Magician?s Chamber.  Aside from the two entrance rooms and Pit-area rooms, the only two rooms that never housed an artifact are the Lunar Landing and the Room of the Golden Torches.
? The first two-Pendant tie during the Temple Games occurred in ?The Smashed Statue of Darius the Second?, between the Blue Barracudas and the Silver Snakes.

Top 10 teams of Season 1 (Using TMH's scoring system (http://http://phantomsden.6.forumer.com/viewtopic.php?t=1712))
Tenth place - Joseph & Ashleigh (?The Infamous Lion Skin of the Tsavo Hunter?) ? 121 points
Ninth place - T.J. & Jennifer (?The Rudder from the HMS Endurance?) ? 123 points
Eighth place - Christian & Rebecca (?The Modified Charts of Pedro ?lvares Cabral?) ? 124 points
Seventh place - Justin & Emma (?The Tortoiseshell Comb of Eleanor of Aquitaine?) ? 130 points
Sixth place - Jamie & Nina (?The Stone Nose of the Easter Island Statue?) ? 132 points
Fifth place - Alex & Stephanie (?The Scorched Cake Pan of Alfred the Great?) ? 133 points
Fourth place - Christopher & Whitney (?The Lost Blueprints of Charles Babbage?) ? 135 points
Third place - Dan & Veronica (?The Broad-Brimmed Fedora of Robert Ripley?) ? 139 points
Second place - Esteban & Kristin (?The Wedding Ring of Nocatula?) ? 140 points
First place - Adam & Taylor (?The Feathered Crown of Netzahualcoyotl?) ? 143 points

Now for some dirt on Season 2:

I'll probably need a few weeks to start preparing stuff, so bear with me. Even though they're listed in alphabetical order, I will be posting the episodes in production order, so that adds some spice to the mix. As for differences in the two seasons, they're practically nonexistent, except for a few things:

?   There are now two small "torches" on either side of Olmec. Actually, they're those little lamps with fans in them that blow up pieces of fabric that look like fire. I forget what they're called...
?   Kirk now interviews each contestant prior to the Temple Games, as opposed to just telling their names or giving interesting facts about them.
?   The little quips Olmec gives right before explaining the first Temple Game? Gone now.
?   Two words: MORE PLANTS.

Expect a new Season 2 episode within about two or three weeks. Until then, remember: it's not just Legends. IT'S LEGENDS: REBIRTH, JABRONIS!!! :P

NEWS FLASH

We are drawing ever-closer to the premiere of Season 2. I plan to start it up around the middle of the month, so be on the lookout. I'll announce something here before I start, which could be at any time in the very near future. Once the episodes start, there'll be a new one posted about every week or so. I may slow down once I go back to college, but even then, I should be able to find time to do these, and even if I miss a week, I don't think it will matter too much. Keep your eyes peeled!

I said I'd post the first S2 episode yesterday, but I was out of the house and couldn't get online. In retrospect, I think it's a blessing in disguise, because I may want to post these episodes in installments (as in one per week, on a specific day of the week). Wednesday is the day I'm setting aside for posting each episode. Look for the first one in three days!

Well, I'm afraid I have some very bad news. Before I get to that, let me explain to you my situation:

All my Legends episodes are saved on a Word document on a flash drive. Every time I go to post a new episode, I access this document and post what I need. Capeesh?

Well, I checked a few hours ago, and this document...is GONE. I have no idea how it could've gotten deleted...I was just on it this morning, and didn't even save the thing. This means that all the Moat Crossings, Temple Games, Temple Diagrams, Temple Run stats, and win/victory ratios of all the episodes I have yet to post here are kaput.

So what does this mean? Well, if anyone knows how to retrieve a deleted document from a flash drive, PLEASE let me know. If not, it's definitely going to take a lot of time, research, and brain-racking to replace what I lost. I imagine it may take at least a month to get things back on track.

I deeply apologize to anybody who got their hopes up for something posted regularly from now on. It's a bad situation, but I intend to press on...

UPDATE

Like a phoenix from the ashes, I'm back to bring good news.

I have been making good progress writing up the remaining six episodes for S2 L1. I plan to start posting again as soon as I finish the last episode of this particular layout. However, I don't know how long it'll take me...judging by how long it took me to re-write the four I've already finished, they could all be finished as soon as the end of this month or as late as the middle of next month. Still, I'm much better off than I was at this time five weeks ago.

Also, I've created a backup of each episode in case you-know-what ever happens again. :P

Wednesday, November 10, 2010 is the day I've set aside to start posting episodes again. Once I finish up S2 L1, I'll be taking a short break before writing any more.

However, after S2 L2, the voting will officially be open for my "Tournament of Champions"! Make sure to pick out your 16 favorite episodes from the first 66 episodes and send 'em to me!

In case you missed it, there was no new episode last week due to my getting home for the holidays.  I had originally planned to put it up over the weekend, but I had to scrap that idea due to my family's trip to Gatlinburg earlier today.  So look for my next episode on Wednesday, December 15. :)

Well, tonight marks the last episode of Layout 1 in Season 2.  Hope you enjoy it...because I'm planning on taking a little break.  New episodes will resume sometime around the end of January, if all goes well with my planning.  Also, the voting for my first annual Legends: Rebirth Tournament of Champions will be coming VERY soon...a lot sooner than you might think, actually.

Until then, enjoy the episodes, and I'll see you in 2011!

Happy new year, everybody! I just popped in here to announce two things:

The new episodes have been bumped up to the middle of January: Wednesday, January 19th, to be exact. So look out for the newest batch of episodes.

*cracks knuckles* Now for the bigger, more exciting news...

Voting for the Tournament of Champions teams is now OPEN.  Yes, I'm holding it a little early because I felt that starting it after this next batch of episodes would leave too many choices for teams; not to mention the dismal output of my last "choose the episodes" poll taught me to give these things enough time to be voted on.  Yeah, I really bombed on that one...but I digress.

Vote for 16 teams from the first 53 episodes (from "The Infamous Lion Skin of the Tsavo Hunter" up to "The Unused Chains of Red Legs Greaves") that you feel performed the best overall in these first 53 fics.  Like the voting for TAW's, you can vote for any team, as long as they made it to Olmec's Temple.  The voting starts right now, and ends whenever I post the final episode before the Tournament.  So choose your 16 teams wisely, and PM or e-mail me your choices.  See you soon!

Good news, everyone! (professor from Futurama)

I've gotten about five complete episodes under my belt, and I feel that that's good enough to start up posting again.  Next Wednesday, look for a new episode of Legends: Rebirth to appear, and every Wednesday after that as well. If I miss a few Wednesdays, it'll most likely be due to schoolwork or something like that, but I'll at least get five episodes in a row up and running over the next few weeks. See you in a week!

Also, if you haven't heard (or just forgot), voting for my "Tournament of Champions" remains open until the last episode of Season 2 is posted. I won't start begging for your votes yet, but I'd appreciate more than only ONE ballot sent in (you know who you are). Send me your votes, darn it! :)

I haven't had the time or motivation to make any more episodes, so this is the last one for a while.  I'm not sure when I'll start back up on them again, but rest assured that it'll be awhile, as I've been pretty swamped with schoolwork upon coming back from spring break. :(

Have faith though, folks...Legends: Rebirth will be back very soon with new episodes! :)

UPDATE:

Now that school's over and summer is approaching, my interest in this has (rather unexpectedly) been rekindled.  I've been writing a little on this every day for the past week, which is a big development over only dabbling a bit once or twice every few weeks.  If things keep going at this rate, we could see new episodes in a month or so.

I'm not saying that I'm close to having anything close to a finished product, but it's definitely a good start.  I'll keep everyone posted on how things go!

UPDATE:

It's been a little slow these past few days, but I have been working on this. As of right now, I actually have two episodes complete, and several more that at least have parts of them written. If I can keep my interest in this up, I may be able to post at least a little something soon, just to whet everyone's appetite for things to come. I'm keeping my fingers crossed, and I hope you all are too!

Legends: Rebirth will NOT die!!!

Thanks for the encouragement. :)

I've usually just uploaded a crudely drawn map of the Temple layout from Paint onto Photobucket and pasted it here, but if you think you could help me in producing better maps, I'm all for it.

In case you haven't noticed by now, I have a new "business partner", so to speak. :)

JTH1 has taken the liberty of creating new-and-improved Temple Diagrams for each Temple Run up to "The Golden Rose of King Midas". Hopefully, there'll be one made for every episode, but even with just these few, it breathes some new life into the series. Check them out!

NEWS FLASH:

I have two things to look forward to in the next three weeks: one is that my sister is getting married on July 23rd, and I get to boss people around as one of the ushers. :P

The other one is the resurgence (re-resurgence?) of Legends: Rebirth.  Aside from some tweaking and slight writing here and there, almost all the episodes from S2, L2 are now complete and ready to unveil for your viewing pleasure. As usual, we're going to have a new episode posted every Wednesday, and July 27th just happens to fall on a Wednesday (hint, hint). So look out...we'll be headed back to the Hidden Temple very soon, folks!

Also, don't forget to vote for my TOURNAMENT OF CHAMPIONS...pick your 16 favorite teams, and they'll go head-to-head in the five-episode special at the end of Season 2. Once again, the deadline comes the moment I post my final regular Season 2 episode. Send 'em in, guys!

Some people may be wondering why I didn't post anything last Wednesday.

Frankly, my reason for not tacking up another episode was because of the recent downtime/server issues we've been having on the forum.  Therefore, I've shied away from posting anything for the suspicion that we might be moving, and frankly, I still have a gut feeling we might be doing so soon.  However, I'm willing to throw caution to the wind, so I'll resume posting my episodes next Wednesday.

Sorry to disappoint anyone who's been checking up on this regularly...I promise I'll be back with new stuff, though!

UPDATE:

Well, as some of you may have read on the Main Spam Topic, I now have a steady job.  Due to the job hours, I'll be working every other Wednesday (and other days, too...but I digress).  And so, there's going to be a change in when I post these next few episodes--starting from tomorrow, there'll be one posted every other Wednesday.

However, these next four episodes may be the last ones I post for a while, as I haven't really written anything substantial enough on the ones after them.  I'll try to work on them in my spare time, but my work hours may get in the way.  I'll let you all know how things go!

"The Bullet-Pierced Playing Card of Charles Cognetz" is up...so that does it for the Season 2, Layout 2 episodes. I really hope you've enjoyed my little "tributes" to three of the coolest members of this here forum. ;)

Well, unfortunately, that also does it for the new episodes for a while. Due to my job and other obligations, finding time to work on this has been incredibly difficult, so it may be quite a while before you guys see anything new. On the bright side, this gives you all time to vote for my Tournament of Champions...please, PLEASE, PLEASE send in your nominations of 16 teams for the Tourney!
