I've recently been getting some of those "New Post in a topic you're watching" emails from this Forum's automatic mailing system that are erroneous in nature. They indicate topics that have not gotten new posts and their hyperlinks lead to the following message:
The topic or post you requested does not exist.
May I PLEASE IMPLORE the Moderators to investigate this matter, as it is quite the annoyance.

It sounds like something you might want to run by the Forumer support staff. I don't think there's anything that Phantom and co. can do about it from here...
-
It could be related to the spam bot that was around a day or two ago. It posted new things that I immediately deleted. How "recently" are we talking about, here?
-
I haven't received any of the strange emails just so you know.

Me neither.

It started about 3 days ago, so yes, it probably was that dreaded Spam Bot.
However that opens up another 2 questions:
1. What Kind of Spam Bot was it? (What did it post about?)
2. If it says that Spam Bots aren't a problem in the Forum Rules thread of the Steps of Knowledge, then why did we just have a Spam Bot infiltrate our Forum?

My guess is there was some person behind it just to get past any validation, then it was let loose. Is that possible?

1. Meaningless things, with advertising links in the sig.
2. Because we used to get a handful a day.
