This is something that changed from season to season as well. In Season 1, Kirk descended the stairs next to Olmec. In Season 2, He descended from the ceiling via rope and carabiner. In Season 3, he swung in on a rope from off-stage.
So what of Season 4? How would Kirk make his grand entrance to the awaiting adventurers?
-
Jump from off of the top most level of the temple, rebound off a trampoline below, and then fly around the set on a fixed wire making a perfect landing atop the steps of knowledge.
-
Climb out of the moat, except have him be completely dry.
-
Have him spin around from behind one of the suits of armor in The Room ofthe Ancient Warriors (Ya kno, like where the temple gaurds would be).
-
The door in the chamber of the sacred markers opens revealing Kirk, he then runs into the Pit and swings on the roap across and onto the stage.

That implies that you can walk from the Chamber to the Pit. But you can't. It's a crawl space.

Kirk runs from a temple guard in the Shrine of the Silver Monkey to the top room of the central shaft, where he rides a giant zip line down to the studio floor in front of the Steps of Knowledge, leaving the guard in his dust.
-
Have Kirk pop up in the Quicksand Bog, bust through the wall into the Dark Forest, and walk onto the stage.
--OR!--
Have him come out of one of the tomb-looking things in the back of the Dark Forest.

When Olmec says, "And here he is NOW!", he opens his mouth really wide on "now" and holds it, revealing a cannon. Kirk shoots himself out of the cannon, flies across the stage, hits the surface of the moat and glides on top of the water to the other side, at which point he stands up and begins his usual "welcome to the temple" spiel.
-
Have Kirk slide down the Pharoah's Secret Passage into the Quicksand Bog, then have a Temple Guard appear and chase him out of the room on the side, where he runs to the Steps of Knowledge.

Pshh I didn't even bother reading this thing. Good ideas guys! All I did was have him zip-line.
-
I think it would be great if he did a different entrance for each episode. At its very worst, it'd be better than the pre-taped over-rehearsed entrances he had in Seasons 2 and 3.
-
For my planned episodes, I would have him swim up from the moat, but sence you already stated that....
How about a guard throws him out of the temple?

*Massive Super Ultra Big Bump*
Have him spin around on the Throne of the Pretender until it faces the front of the room, then have him run out thru the front of the room.
-
I've usually just had him come in from the door in the Dungeon/Mine Shaft/Well area.
Maybe the camera turns around, faces the patch full of plants it went through to find Olmec and shows Kirk appearing from there?
-
In some of my fanfics, I have him drive onstage on an ATV. That's about all I got.
-
An early entrance I made up was have him jump into the Pit of Despair from the door to the Observatory area, then walk out onto the stage.
I use a variation of that for my S2 Wild Jungle fanfics; Kirk just crawls out of the Jungle Crevice (the pit area) and walks out onto the stage.

Maybe have him repelling down to the moat area where the gongs are. Have him do a live repel instead of the pre-recording.
Another idea could have him be on today's moat obstacle and have him just do whatever today's moat crossing and have him on the other side for his introduction.
