Title: The Symbolic End of The King's Storeroom
Post by: nicklegends on December 30, 2007, 07:06:45 PM
Yes, that's right everybody, with the departure of Nick GaS, so too goes The King's Storeroom (http://http://www.geocities.com/nicklegends/updates.html), your premiere source for Legends info over the last forty-four months.

Jake and I released the new, illustrated, episode list as a way of thanking acknowledging everybody who visited the site. I urge you to check it out, and I promise that you will not be disappointed. Thank you, everybody on the forum, for supporting us for as long as you have.

We may still continue to post updates, but they will be very few and far between. Of course, I will still be here to serve you guys well on the forum. Thanks again!

Along with the sad departure of The King's Storeroom, I, Jake Potts, am leaving the site and Phantom's Temple for good. I know I wanted to retire a while back, but now I'm getting ready to enter my senior year of high school and I need to focus on going to college and getting my act together. Everyone, not to sound gay or anything, but I love you all and I wish you the best of luck in everything you do and for you to be STRONG Legends of the Hidden Temple fans the rest of your lives. Farewell!!!

Love,

Jake Potts

Thank you very much both of you.

If it hadn't been for the King's Storeroom, this forum would have never gotten as popular as it has, I owe it all to you.

Jake, it has been a pleasure to have you on the forum, I hope you will never forget us and visit often.

Because of your efforts, we have successfully chronicled all the fan known information concerning Legends Of The Hidden Temple.

I really didn't expect this.. when I didn't have GAS I would be on your site all the time looking at Legends stuff.

I guess it's the right day to go out on. (Even though I still have GAS, for some reason)

That's a bit morbid. While it is true, it is times like these we should look toward a more bright future.

I mean, let's try and have a little optimisim.

But it is true.  We will all have to grow up and will probably leave this forum.  But that doesn't mean we can forget about Legends completely.

I just pray that day is not coming soon. I plan to continue working on this forum well into college, if it remains Phantom's Temple or not, I will continue the forum for years to come.

Perhaps not for the rest of my life, but for many more years.

Site closing notifications always seemed hypocritical.  I mean, you even said it yourself:

If the information's still there - and REALLY, did you really think you could continually update information of a show that hasn't aired new episodes in thirteen years forever? - then there's no need to make any hullabaloo about a lack of updates.

But that's just my two cents.

I could have made great hullabaloo if I had posted it in the announcements section of the website. I could have garnered a lot of attention with a complex scheme to count down each day passed until the 31st. I could have done a lot more than this measly thread and a poorly-constructed statement explaining the state of the site.

Instead, I settled for a minimum. To you, perhaps, it's not a big deal, which is fine. I know that you've lost interest in the show and presumably the site in the same way I have. But to people who have relied on the site for information for so long, I think it's worth a brief article. Obviously, no, I did not expect to post updates about the show forever, but in the long time I have had the website that is all I have done. People are insistent; people want to know what's going on. I had a sleeveful of ways to boost the perceived severity of the change, but I left it with a simple statement to depart from the site as humbly as it started. I thought others on the forum would like to know. Others posting to commemorate it was optional.

As the Third person with strong interests in the Storeroom, I mourn the loss of the Storeroom and the ability to contribute to it. I will miss the Submitter/EDitor relationship that Ed and I have shared for AT LEAST the past (And Ed, plz correct me if I'm wrong for old times sake) 10 months. I was the second Advanced Statistician in the site's history, expanding on the concept originally thought of by "A B" and (although unwittingly) conceded to Jake by his appearance to the Storeroom. Ed if there is EVER anything that I find out that I have and you're lacking (The "Secret Map" tiebreaker for example), I will KINDLY offer the Information for posting to the Storeroom Although I would LOVE to have permission/access privileges to post to the Storeroom DIRECTLY. But I guess that due to the impending "defunct-ionality" of the Storeroom, that the sentence in orange will never come to be. That said, if you can't do me any favors ED, the least you can do for me is make DAMN sure that the King's Storeroom doesn't go the way of Jon's old site.

Hell, I liked the King's Storeroom more than my site.  (Although that was a bit of an unnecessary jab.)

Ed, don't take it as a knock towards all the work you, Jake, Bob, or whomever has done towards the website.  I wasn't trying to lash out at anyone; I was just making a neutral-toned statement on the situation.

Like Bob's statement, RIP The King's Storeroom, is ridiculous because it's still alive.  (Sorry Bob, but you kind of emphasized what I was trying to prove.  No offense.)

Fair enough. I'm going to lock this thread unless objectors present themselves...

Unlocked by request from The_Enforcer.

RP, Please don't insult my sense of nostalgia. I was merely "SPILLING MY GUTS" about what I felt about the King's Storeroom and it's accomplishments. Please remember that I was helping Ed with the Storeroom long before I started GIVING YOU ASSISTANCE WITH YOUR SITE!!! I DO TAKE OFFENSE to your comments and SINCERELY ASK for an apology to BOTH ME AND ED!!! And no Phantom, there will be no Flaming in YOUR Temple, as per forum rules! I learned my lesson the last time and don't plan on being banned a seond time!

Also, on that note, I was working especially hard as a middleman so that You, Ed, Jon, and Aaron would hopefully exist harmoniously LONG BEFORE Aaron was "removed from Phantom's Temple." Unfortunatly, both Jon and Aaron failed to see the intent of my actions (Jon became standoffish about releasing further full ep downloads due to personal vendetta and Aaron simply became rude and obnoxious towards you (RP) and ED, as well as a few others, on Phantom's Temple [Which I both rued and lamented because it led to the direct downfall of my attempts at a ceasefire.])

Finally, and this is addressing Phantom, can you please administratively DELETE the post that got me banned for a week so that notsoundercovercop327 can see that there are ABSOLUTELY NO HARD FEELINGS TOWARDS HIM on my behalf!!!

...the only thing you contributed to my website was one correction via this message board.

It was pretty clear via Ed's reaction that he and I had made some sort of peace already.  So that's taken care of; I don't see why I should apologize to you for something I explained rather clearly.

And not for nothing, but did this thread really need to be unlocked for a matter that could have easily been handled with a few PMs?

I don't want to appear rude Enforcer, but it seems as though a great deal of that post was just made to justify gaining some sort of revenge on Renegade.

You're not going to be banned for this but I suggest you try and calm down before posting again or you'll be on thin ice.

Furthermore, I don't really see what your post that got you banned has anything to do with this, other than you trying to tie up any sort of loose ends that you fear may get you banned.

Chill out man.

Now that all has been said, I'm going to close this again before anyone has the chance to start anything else. Ed, you know the drill, if you fill the need to re-open it, go ahead.
