Episode 26

The camera maneuvers through a thick rainforest to stop in front of an ancient temple.  A giant stone head next to the gate of the temple begins to speak:
"LEGENDS OF THE HIDDEN TEMPLE! With your guide, Kirk Fogg! And here he is NOW!"

On this final word, Kirk appears from behind the Temple Guard door in the Dungeon and runs straight out into the foreground of the stage to greet the crowd. "Thank you! Thank you very much! Nice to see you! Nice to see you, Olmec! Welcome to Legends of the Hidden Temple.  The rooms are filled with lost treasures that are protected by mysterious Mayan Temple Guards.  Only Olmec knows the legend behind each of the treasures in his temple.  Which legend are we gonna hear about today?"

Olmec replies:
"The Sheath of Pedro I? of Brazil."

"Oh, the Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil!" Kirk says in response. "Well the legend is set, and one of these six teams will have the chance to retrieve the Sheath.  And will it be:
"Jared and Jasmine of the Red Jaguars?" the camera pans to each team in order?
"John and Melissa of the Blue Barracudas,
"Mark and Crystal of the Green Monkeys,
"Thom and Julie of the Orange Iguanas,
"Pat and Ginnie of the Purple Parrots,
"Or Kraig and Alexis of the Silver Snakes?"

"They'll have to pass some tough physical and mental tests," Kirk says, "but in the end, only one team will earn the right to enter Olmec's Temple.  But first, they must cross the Moat, and here's how they'll have to do it today:
"There's a rope in front of each team in the Moat.  When I say go, one player from each team will swim out to grab the rope, come back onto dry land and swing on the rope across the Moat.  Then they'll throw the rope to their partner and he'll swing across.  Now if any part of a player touches the water when he's swinging across, he'll have to go back and start again."
"As soon as the second player steps onto the deck, it's his job to run over here and hit the gong." He slams down on the Red Jaguars' gong to demonstrate. "The first four teams to hit their gongs will go on to the next round.  Hey teams? are you ready?"
The players all cheer and shout in response.
"Olmec, are you ready?" asks Kirk.
"You betcha!" Olmec replies.
"All right then," Kirk replies. "On your marks, get set, GO!"

The first players on each team hop into the Moat and wade out to grab the ropes dangling above the halfway stretch.  The girl on the Silver Snakes is the first to get back out onto the dry studio floor with the rope, followed by the boy on the Blue Barracudas and the girl on the Purple Parrots.  The girl on the Green Monkeys drops around knee-depth into the Moat as she swings across, allowing the girl on the Silver Snakes to get across first and pass the rope back to her partner.
?Lookin? like a good Moat so far!? Kirk comments as the boys on the Red Jaguars and the Blue Barracudas are helped onto the deck by the spotters.  The girl on the Purple Parrots steps out onto the deck a second later, followed by the girl on the Orange Iguanas.
?It?s neck-and-neck, even now,? Kirk says as the girl on the Red Jaguars leans out to grab the rope to keep from falling behind the second player from the Blue Barracudas.  The girl on the Purple Parrots finally tosses the rope hard enough that her partner can reach it at the same time as the girl on the Green Monkeys finally gets across.
?We got one team? two teams in!? Kirk shouts as the boy on the Silver Snakes and the girl on the Blue Barracudas hit their respective teams? gongs. ?And there?s the other two there!? he says as the girl on the Red Jaguars and boy on the Purple Parrots step on the deck and run over to their gongs. ?That?s it!? The camera then shows Kirk standing with the players on the Red Jaguars. ?Red Jaguars did a great job getting over here! They?re going on to the Steps of Knowledge, along with the Blue Barracudas?? the camera briefly views each qualifying team? and the Purple Parrots? and the Silver Snakes! Green Monkeys and Orange Iguanas gave it a great effort too.  They won?t be going home empty-handed, we?ve got a great gift for them for playing and here?s what it is.?
Dee reads the consolation prize:
"Look at the entertaining fun you?ll have when you strap on Moon Shoes.  Super excitement is yours when you bounce higher than ever! Don?t leave Earth without Moon Shoes, from Big Time Toys!"
Title: Rediscovery EP: The Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil
Post by: The Ancient Warrior on April 17, 2007, 12:58:59 PM
The four teams are now at the top of the Steps of Knowledge accompanied by Kirk. "As the quest continues, it's now time for Olmec to tell us about the Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil.  But pay attention teams, because your knowledge of the Legend can bring you one step closer to Olmec's Temple."
Olmec begins to tell the legend:
"One of the bravest and most able leaders of his time was Pedro I.  He was born in Portugal to Charlotte of Spain and the Braganza king Jo?o VI, but when Pedro was nine, the royal family fled the capital at Lisbon to escape an approaching attack by the French.  They arrived in the Portuguese colony of Brazil, which Pedro was made the prince of upon arrival.
"After a few years in hiding, however, Jo?o and Charlotte returned to Lisbon, leaving Pedro in Brazil as regent.  But the people living in the colony soon received terrible news from the king, and rushed off to find Pedro.
"'Where is he?' the men shouted, making their way through the thick jungles.  They eventually found Pedro in S?o Paulo, hunting by the banks of the Ipiranga River.
"'Boa tarde, senhores! You wanted to see me?'
"They showed Pedro the message they?d been sent from the king.
"'You?ve taken too much of an advantage as colonists.  I?m taking back all your rights as of now.  Who does he think he is, George the Third? Well we?ll show him, right guys?'
"'YEAH!'
"'All hail King Pedro!'
"'Independence or death!' Pedro shouted, and he took his sword out of its sheath.  The men ran after him, but the jewel-encrusted sheath was left behind.  Your quest is to find the Jewel-Encrusted Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil and bring it back here."

"Thank you Olmec," Kirk says after Olmec finishes telling the legend. "So, where is the Jewel-Encrusted Sheath?"
Olmec replies:
"The Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil can be found in the Knights? Barracks." The camera fades to the Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil on the railing in the Knights? Barracks in such a way as to cut the plain sheaths in the suits of armor out of the picture.  Then, the camera segues back to Kirk.

"Teams," Kirk begins, walking down the steps, "you are now standing on the Steps of Knowledge.  In a minute, Olmec will ask you a question.  If you think you know the answer, I want you to stomp down on the ancient marking in front of you.  If you're right, you're gonna move down to the next level, but if you're wrong or run out of time, I'll give the other teams a chance to answer.  The first two teams to make it to the bottom level will be one step closer to Olmec's Temple.  Olmec, we're now ready for your first question."

Olmec begins:
?Was Brazil a colony of: Spain, Portugal, or???
Jasmine stomps down first and quietly guesses: ?Portugal.?
?Say that again??? Kirk requests.
?Portugal,? Jasmine repeats a little louder this time.
?Correct,? Olmec replies.
?All right, step down!? Kirk shouts, and the Red Jaguars move down a step. ?Don?t be shy, it was the correct answer! Next question, Olmec.?
Olmec asks:
?Was Pedro I?s father: Henry VIII, Louis XIV, or Jo?o VI??
After a moment of hesitation, Alexis buzzes in: ?Jown Vi???
?Correct,? Olmec replies, allowing the Silver Snakes to move down to the second step.
?Tough pronunciation there,? Kirk comments. ?Let?s keep going, next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Pedro and his parents were forced into Brazil when soldiers invaded the Portuguese capital city??
Melissa interrupts Olmec: ?When soldiers? invaded the?? Portuguese city???
?That is not one of our three choices,? Olmec explains. ?Were these soldiers from: France, England, or Russia??
Jasmine gongs in: ?England.?
?That is incorrect,? replies Olmec.
Pat buzzes in: ?Russia???
?Incorrect,? Olmec answers. ?They were from France.?
?All right,? Kirk comments. ?Take it easy on them, Olmec! Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Is the capital of Portugal: Lisbon, Porto, or Braga??
Alexis rings in: ?Port-o???
?Incorrect,? Olmec replies.
Jasmine stomps down first: ?Lisbon.?
?That is correct,? answers Olmec, and the Red Jaguars move down to the third step.
?Okay, one more correct response and the Red Jaguars are goin? to the Temple Games,? Kirk explains. ?Olmec, next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?Did Pedro unsheathe his sword on the banks of???
Melissa buzzes in, but blanks and taps her helmet repeatedly until a bell sounds.
Olmec then says:
?Time?s up.  The three choices are: the Red River, the Volga River, or the Ipiranga River.?
Ginnie then buzzes in: ?Ippie-rang-a River???
?Correct,? says Olmec, and the Purple Parrots move down a step.
?Okay, we?ve got a game goin? now,? says Kirk. ?Olmec, continue.?
Olmec does so by asking:
?Did Pedro unsheathe his sword when he received a letter from: The queen of France, The king in Lisbon, or A secret admirer??
Just as Olmec is giving the third choice, Pat rings in: ?The? king in Lisbon.?
?That is correct,? Olmec answers, and the Purple Parrots move down to the third step.
?Purple Parrots just need one more response, and they?re going to the Temple Games,? Kirk explains. ?Olmec, next question.?
Olmec now asks:
?What did Pedro shout when he unsheathed his sword: ?Independence or death,? ?Truth or dare,? or ?Open sesame???
Ginnie is first again: ?Independence or death!?
?That is correct!? Olmec yells, and the Purple Parrots move down to the bottom level.
?All right, we?ve got one team goin? to the Temple Games!? Kirk announces. ?We still need one more team, who?s it gonna be? Next question.?
Olmec then asks:
?Which of these is another river that flows through Brazil: The Nile, the Amazon, or the Danube??
Kraig stomps down first: ?The Amazon???
?That is correct,? Olmec replies, and the Silver Snakes move down to the third step.
?Silver Snakes are now tied up with the Red Jaguars,? comments Kirk. ?Blue Barracudas can still catch up.  Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Which of these is most likely to be found in Brazil: Glaciers, Deserts, or Rainforests??
Melissa buzzes in: ?Rainforests???
?Correct,? Olmec says.
?All right, Blue Barracudas?re making a comeback,? Kirk comments as the Blue Barracudas move down to the second step. ?Next question.?
Olmec asks:
?Is the Ipiranga River near: S?o Paulo, Florian?polis, or Rio de Janeiro??
After a couple seconds, John stomps down first: ?Flori? opolis??
?Incorrect,? Olmec answers.  No one else stomps down before a bell sounds. ?Time?s up, the answer was S?o Paulo.?
?Okay, next question,? Kirk says.
Olmec asks:
?Did Pedro rule Brazil as: A Regent, Revenant, or Covenant??
After a moment, Kraig buzzes in: ?Regent???
?That is correct!? Olmec shouts, and the Silver Snakes walk over to the camera-left of the Purple Parrots on the bottom step.
?All right, we?ve got our two teams!? Kirk says, walking up the side of the bottom step to appear behind the teams. ?Going on the Temple Games are the Purple Parrots and the Silver Snakes! The rest of you come down here.? The Red Jaguars and Blue Barracudas step down to meet with Kirk. ?These guys gave it a great effort too.  It was a close match.  Here?s what we?ve got for them.? Jared, Jasmine, John and Melissa will each be receiving a backpack provided by Eastpak.
Kirk stands on the Steps of Knowledge just behind the Silver Snakes and Purple Parrots on the bottom step. ?These teams?ll be playing for the right to enter Olmec?s Temple,? Kirk says, and they?ll do it right after this!? The camera goes off to take a look into the Dungeon and zooms in on the end of the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage before fading to commercial.
Title: Rediscovery EP: The Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil
Post by: The Ancient Warrior on April 17, 2007, 01:00:49 PM
Kirk is standing between the two qualifying teams in front of the Great Chasm. ?Welcome back to Legends,? he says. ?Now, the glory goes to the fastest and the strongest, so let?s hear it for Ginnie and Pat of the Purple Parrots!? The brown-haired girl on the camera-left of Kirk waves her arms in the air as the blond boy claps. ?And Alexis and Kraig of the Silver Snakes!? The dirty-blond girl and brown-haired boy high-ten each other.
?Why don?t you guys go get ready for the second Temple Game, girls go get ready for the first Temple Game,? Kirk says as the players walk offscreen, ?and I'll tell you what's going on here.  In the Temple Games, each team will be competing to win?" he opens his pocket and pulls out a small gold medallion to show to the camera? "Pendants of Life.  The winning team will need those Pendants to protect themselves from the dreaded Temple Guards as they make their way through the Temple.  There are three Temple Games, and Olmec, tell us about Temple Game #1.?

Olmec begins:
?Pedro I of Brazil would have to go to Portugal to overthrow the king, but he couldn?t just walk there, since Portugal was on the other side of the Atlantic Ocean.  When Kirk gives the signal, sail out from the dock and, without touching the water, jump out to plant the flag marked ?Independence? on the island.  Then, sail back and run back up the dock.
?The first player to mount their flag and get both feet on the dock? or the one that?s furthest along after 30 seconds? wins.?
?Let?s put 30 seconds on the clock,? says Kirk, and the clock appears in the bottom-right corner of the screen. ?On your marks, get set, GO!?
The girls row out without much of a problem and both mount their flags with about 18 seconds to go.  However, Ginnie ends up having a lot of trouble turning around and going back to the dock, unlike Alexis, who steps on the dock with 4 seconds remaining.  The countdown clock runs until it hits zero, then Kirk announces a winner.
?Okay, time?s up,? Kirk says as Ginnie gets out of her boat and leaves it at the end of the dock. ?Alexis and the Silver Snakes got back here first, so they get the half Pendant of Life!? Alexis pushes her dirty-blond ponytail over her shoulder as the audience applauds. ?Purple Parrots can catch up in the next game, it?s also worth a half Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about it.?

Olmec continues:
?Like many good leaders, Pedro I would need to be able to ride a horse skillfully and not just pose on one.  You will prove your horsemanship in this game.  Hold on tight, because when Kirk gives the signal, the horse will begin to spin.
?The player that?s still on after 60 seconds? or the player that stays on the longest? wins.?
?Oh, it?s gonna be another tough ride,? Kirk comments, standing in front of the mechanical horse machine. ?We?re gonna put 60 seconds on the clock.? The clock appears in the corner of the screen as Kirk runs off to the right side of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
Pat and Kraig hold on tight to the mechanical horses below them, but the boys begin to lose their grip as time goes on. ?It?s a tough challenge,? Kirk comments as the clock hits 0:46. ?It?s a wild horse.  This horse is loco!? Eventually Kraig falls off with 25 seconds remaining and lands on his back on the safety mat. ?That?s it!? Kirk runs back on screen to meet with the team players. ?It looks like Purple Parrots stayed on the longest, that gives them a half Pendant of Life!? The audience applauds again. ?So it?s all tied up, a half Pendant apiece, and this next game is worth a full Pendant.  Olmec, tell us about it.?

Olmec narrates:
?Pedro I helped the people of Brazil on their way to freedom from Portugal?s reign of terror, but here, you must reach freedom on your own.  When Kirk gives the signal, you and your partner will move along the wall and maneuver the chain along the slot, trying to make your way to the space marked ?Freedom? through which you can escape.
?The first team to reach Freedom? or the one that?s closer to Freedom after 60 seconds? wins.?
The camera shows Kirk standing in front of the two giant boards and facing the camera. ?It?s all tied up, half Pendant apiece,? he says. ?Whoever wins this goes to the Temple.  Let?s put 60 seconds on the clock.? The clock then appears in the corner of the screen. ?On your mark, get set, GO!?
The Purple Parrots start off rather quickly, but slow down when they have to pass through the first metal loop, allowing the Silver Snakes to catch up.  They both make it through the first metal loops with 43 seconds remaining, but the Purple Parrots speed back up again afterward.
?This game takes a lot of communication,? Kirk explains as the Purple Parrots and Silver Snakes pass through the second loops with roughly 25 seconds remaining. ?You gotta know which way you?re going, gotta talk to your partner.?  The players begin moving toward the last loop before the open space marked ?Freedom.? Finally, the Silver Snakes jump out with 2 seconds left, but the clock hits zero before going away.
?All right!? Kirk says as the spotters unfasten the players? equipment. ?It looks like the Silver Snakes were first, so they get the full Pendant, that gives them a Pendant and a half, the Purple Parrots had a half Pendant.  The Silver Snakes are goin? to the Temple!? Alexis screams out of excitement, then she and Kraig high-ten three times.  Pat and Ginnie walk over. ?Purple Parrots gave it a great effort too.  They?re not goin? away empty-handed, here?s what we?ve got for them.? Pat and Ginnie will each be receiving a small prize package provided by Reebok.
Kirk is standing in front of the equipment for the third Temple Game accompanied by the Silver Snakes. ?We?ll see if the Silver Snakes can make it through Olmec?s Temple and retrieve that Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil,? he says, ?right after this!? The camera zooms in on the Knights? Barracks from the stage-right side of the foreground, and focuses in on the Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil before fading to commercial.

Kirk stands in front of the Temple's stairs with his hands on Kraig and Alexis's shoulders. "Welcome back to Legends," he says to the camera before turning around to talk to Olmec. "Olmec!" he shouts. "Alexis and Kraig have proven themselves worthy and now?ve earned the right to enter your Temple.  But before they go, can you give them any hints to help them retrieve the Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil?"
Olmec begins to give the rundown:
"You could start by climbing through the Crevasse and climbing down into the Great Chasm.  Then, race into the Forbidden Fountain.  Place the correct bowl to tip the scales, and you could choose to go up into the Burial Pit, or into the Junction of the Secret Shafts.  If you escape, you might have a chance to enter the Switch Inferno.  Hit the right actuator to go upstairs, or plow through the wall and into the Dungeon.
"Climb up the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage into the Dark Overlook, and correctly place all three torches to open the door to the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.  Assemble the statue, and you may be headed for the Knights? Barracks, where you can grab the Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil.  Place the sword in the correct sheath, and you could advance into the Laser Light Room.  Find the right combination to unleash the power of the laser, and swing on the rope back across the Great Chasm.  Then, pass through the Room of Temple Gongs, race down the stairs and back through the Temple Gate.  The choices are yours and yours alone." Olmec pauses for a second here. "You won 1 ? Pendants in the Temple Games.  Who's going first??
"I am," Alexis says eagerly.
"Very well, Alexis," replies Olmec as Kirk hands out the Pendants of Life. "When Kirk gives the signal, you'll race through the gates into the Temple and make your way towards the Sheath.  Hidden inside the Temple are three ventilation shafts that let out in the Junction of the Secret Shafts, as well as Temple Guards assigned to protect three specific rooms.  You can trade your Pendant for an extra life and go on, but if you're caught without a Pendant, you'll be taken out of the Temple? and it'll be Kraig's turn to enter and try his luck.  Hidden somewhere inside the Temple is the other half of your Pendant.  If you can find it and you're carrying the other half, you will get an extra life.  If you can reach the Sheath, all the doors of the Temple will instantly unlock, and the Temple Guards will vanish.  Return through the gates with the Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil in three minutes, you will both be handsomely rewarded? and here's how:"
?   For just making it into the Temple, they?re both going to get an Ultra-Bounce trampoline from Bollinger.
?   If they can grab the Sheath within three minutes, they?re also going to get matching $500 Toys ?R? Us gift cards.
?   And if they can get the Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil out of the Temple before 3 minutes is up? they?ll both be going to St. Martin! The Golden Tulip St. Martin beach resort has its own private beach, water polo, and all the amenities of Golden Tulip International.  Golden Tulip International, for a prize package totaling exactly $12,000!

"St. Martin, let?s get ?em there!" Kirk says, ready to start the Temple Run. "And now Alexis, maybe you could tell us how you think you're gonna get to the Sheath."
"Um," Alexis explains, "I?m gonna start in the cave, go through the pit, go down in there?" she points at the Forbidden Fountain? "and I?ll go up, and over, and grab the Sheath and come back."
"We?re about to see if that?ll work," Kirk says to the audience. "Put your mouthpieces in.  And let?s lower the gate, Olmec!"
Olmec moans as he lowers the gate, then the blue lights on him turn off.
"And let's set the clock for three minutes." The clock then appears in the corner of the screen as Alexis gets into position. "On your mark, get set, GO!"

Alexis races up the stairs of the Temple and slides feet-first down into the Crevasse. ?And she?s off!? Kirk comments. ?Taking the low route, they got a Pendant and a half? how far can that take them?? Alexis bangs the actuator for the for the upper crawl tube, which doesn?t open, so she tries the lower crawl tube and enters the Great Chasm with 2:41 left. ?She said she?s gonna go right across and then go up,? Kirk comments as Alexis crawls into the Forbidden Fountain and walks over to the altar in the front of the room.  She places the first bowl on the scales, but nothing happens.  She ends up trying all four bowls before the fourth one tips the scales in the other direction.  The door into the Junction of the Secret Shafts opens, but Alexis looks up to see whether or not the door leading into the Burial Pit opened too.  It didn?t, so she runs into the Junction of the Secret Shafts with 2:15 left and meets the first TEMPLE GUARD!
Alexis shrieks, then hands her Pendant of Life to the Temple Guard. ?She?s Pendantless now,? Kirk comments, coining a new word as Alexis hits the actuator for the higher Switch Inferno door. ?Next time a Temple Guard gets her, it?s turn for Kraig to go in.? Alexis enters the Switch Inferno via the lower entrance. (1:56) ?She?s the room where she?s gotta hit all the actuators to open the door!? Alexis starts pressing the eight actuators around the gold doors, then goes to hit the ones on the wall facing the Junction of the Secret Shafts.  Nothing there works either, so now she goes to hit the eight on the wall next to the breakaway rock wall.  None of the actuators in the room open the door. ?She could bust through the wall,? Kirk reminds Alexis, who then walks through the stone wall with 1:19 remaining.  When she enters the Dungeon, she sees the other half Pendant on the ladder next to the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage, and waves both hands to signal to Kraig.  She moves toward that ladder and begins to climb up the Pharaoh?s Secret Passage, but then she changes her mind, slides back down, and goes to try the door leading into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.
?One minute left!? Kirk shouts from offscreen, as the camera shows Kraig clapping repeatedly. ?56 seconds left!? Alexis crawls into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey, grabs only the base of the statue, and tries to put it in position on the platform.  One of the corners isn?t pushed all the way in, but she doesn?t realize it until the middle is in place.  Alexis turns the torso into the correct position and pushes it down, then goes to the back of the room to grab the head. ?That?s it, jam it in!? Kirk shouts as Alexis finished putting the monkey together with 32 seconds left.  She runs into the next room and grabs the SHEATH!
?She?s GOT it!? Kirk shouts. ?All the doors are open!? Alexis crouches down and prepares to enter the Burial Pit, but changes her mind and instead races up into the Laser Light Room. ?21 seconds!? Kirk shouts as Alexis leaves the Laser Light Room.  She jumps down into the Great Chasm and heads into the Crevasse via the lower crawl tube. (0:14!) The camera zooms out and switches to a wide view as she climbs out of the Crevasse.
?It?s gonna be real close!? Kirk shouts as Alexis crawls up the slide. ?Five, four, three, TWO, ONE? SHE DID IT!? Kirk says as Alexis appears from behind the gate just as the clock reaches 0:01.  Alexis holds the Sheath over her head with both hands for a short second before putting it down and taking off her helmet. ?They got it all! With one second left! Un-believable!? Kraig runs over to Alexis, who lands her sweat-decorated forehead on his shoulder. ?Kraig the running back, Alexis the gymnast, they made a great Silver Snakes team.  They got it all, they got the trampolines, the Toys ?R? Us gift cards? You?re goin? to St. Martin!? Alexis hugs Kraig for a second before she stands upright again. ?You guys were great all day, you won everything here.  And we gotta get outta here, I don?t wanna, but we gotta.  Check us out next time for another great Legends of the Hidden Temple! Buh-bye!? Kirk, Alexis and Kraig group hug, and the camera zooms in on the Knights? Barracks, closing in on the platform where the Sheath had been placed, as the credits roll.

Temple Run Summary
Episode 26

Name of Artifact: The Sheath of Pedro I of Brazil
Season: 2
Layout: 1 (5 overall)
Result: Made it!
Time Remaining: 0:01
Team: Silver Snakes
Pendants Won: 1.5
Location of Artifact: The Knights' Barracks

If you ask me, this more than makes up for the pitiful episode that aired immediately before this one, "The Sandal of Mohandas Gandhi." The players were very excited and the competitions were all close in each round.  For example, Silver Snakes only beat the Purple Parrots in the last game by a fraction of a second, and won the Temple Games, 1 ?-?.  But nothing, of course, could top an exciting Temple Run.

This run shows how a player changing their mind can sometimes be a good thing.  Alexis was halfway up the Pharaoh's Secret Passage before she thought to slide back down into the Dungeon and take the diagonal passage into the Shrine of the Silver Monkey.  In the end, this single change of plans would make all the difference.  She wasn't the fastest player, so when she got her hands on the Sheath, only 30 seconds were left.  And when Alexis got to the Great Chasm, she didn't want to try swinging across one-handed and instead jumped down to enter the Crevasse, so it became very close.  As she crawled out of the ledges, the camera switched to a wider angle which allowed us to see her scramble up the slide.  She made it out to meet a fired-up Kraig and Kirk at the Temple Gate and record the solo last-second win.

Trivia and Records:
This is the first victory in The Rediscovery's history that was recorded with just 0:01 on the clock.  Also, the prop used for this artifact was exactly the same as the one used in "The Jeweled Scabbard of Sforza," one of the last episodes of the original show.  Finally, this episode's Steps of Knowledge features one of the few times Olmec lets three teams attempt to answer the same question.
