Title: The Walking Stick of Harriet Tubman
Post by: Olmec on June 26, 2006, 10:47:41 AM
God, will NickGAS please show this episode! As some of you might have read, I mentioned I keep an episode log & take notes about each episode. Like here's an example of an episode note:

Galileo?s Cannonball (Victory, Layout 1, 0:01, Team, Silver Snakes, 1.5 Pendants, The Mine Shaft, Jennifer & Jon)

So, when I've kept the log, they've shown 119 episodes, all at least twice, some 3-5 times. But they have not shown The Walking Stick of Harriet Tubman once. I've seen the episode before, with Ryann being an idiot & taken out in the Crypt, but I wanna see it again & more recent, because I've seen all other 119 episodes while taking "the log".

I've also been waiting to see it, I've been watching Legends everyday for about four months, and I keep waiting and waiting, but they will not show this episode, I was also waiting on The Dead Man's Hand, but they finally showed that a few weeks ago

Yeah, I've had my log since February 1st, so I feel the same feelings as you. Dead Man's Hand was a big surprise. You know how like they show the same episodes in February & April? I was so happy (& surprised) with the new episodes (ones they didn't show in February) at the end of April, so yeah.

So we've been watching about the same amount of time, I should start keeping a log

You should! My log's in Microsoft word & called "SATURDAY", for an odd reason:

I was gonna tell my cousin what episodes were on those days, so I kept a list (it was only like 4 days). Than, my mom went on the computer. She turned it off & saved the thing (I didn't want to save it) as "SATURDAY", because that was the first thing on there. Than, I kept recording the episodes & that's how I got the log.

Interesting, I think I will definetely start keeping track, with a lot of detail, I'll tape them everyday, and write a full show summary (eventually)

Sweet. I made a "Legends Collection" for that cousin, 10 episodes on 2 tapes (just the ones they showed that particular week), & I still have some old taped season 1 & 2 episodes from like the late 90's. I never remember seeing season 3 episodes in the late 90's (the reruns, not the times they showed it in 1995-1996), so it was a big shocker to see "The Broken Trident of Poseidon" (my first season 3 episode) on NickGAS one day with one of my best friends & his older brother.

I don't really remember watching them when I was younger, I was only five or six when I watched it, and all I remembered were the 10 episodes I had on tape.  My favorite was The Moccasins of Geronimo on that tape, and I would watch the Temple Run over and over

I don't want to tape the episodes, because I seriously tape so many reality TV shows, I wouldn't have the time (I have 158 tapes currently of reality TV, gonna be 159 tonight). I really want them to make 3 DVDs, one for each season, with all episodes, commentary, extras, maybe interviews with past contestants.

That would be cool, I've been dreaming of Legends on DVD, Nick's put other old shows out, so they should release Legends, along with other shows like Double Dare

Yeah, I was about the same age than. I remember these ones on tape:

The Helmet of Joan of Ark (my first episode)
The Gordion Knot of Alexander [the Great]
Blackbeard's Treasure Map
The Helmet of Genghis Khan
The Levitating Dog Leash of Nostradamus
The Golden Pepperoni of Katherine de' Medici
The Sacred Ring of the Sultan Suleiman

You're so lucky you have the Moccasins of Geronimo on tape, that's a great temple run. Mitchell switches floors 3 times & still comes out with 1:06 left.

I know, I am pretty lucky, I also have The Pendent of Kamehameha, and Galileo's Cannonball, but I don't remember any others

Wow, you really are lucky. Those are 3 of my favorite episodes. I don't have any really good ones, except Golden Pepperoni & Levitating Dog Leash. GET THE PEPPERONI!

Post by: Mstrgmr on June 26, 2006, 11:23:32 AM
That's a season two classic moment right there, we should add it, and the Dog Leash is an excellant episode, using the Leash to get the rope was brilliant

Yup. Oh, & The Milk Bucket of Freydis. I have that on tape, & it's a family favorite. So many people mention the best part was Tarah's jump across the Pit & how she bangs her head & falls, but I think something different was the best part, that I didn't even remember her leap of fate. When Tarah is in the Pit & has to crawl through the Ledges, she puts the bucket on her side, rather than in front of her, & she is momentarily stuck, wedged between the passage & the bucket. Than, she gets through & gets out. That was my favorite moment of the episode, not her jump, although that was great too.

Post by: Mstrgmr on June 26, 2006, 11:29:42 AM
That's a good episode too, and everyone thinks she tried to jump across, but I think she was jumping to grab the rope

Post by: Olmec on June 26, 2006, 11:33:39 AM
Good theory. I'll watch it again soon & get my opinion established. If she was trying to get the rope, than boy does Tarah fall down far! Isn't it funny how we're just going back & forth between 2 topics answering each other?

Yeah that is pretty funny, and we've already mover to #s 2 and 3 in total posts

Yup. *whispers* You're my best friend on the board. Don't tell anyone.

Oh, I thought of another golden moment I never heard people mention often.

In The Lost Lion Tail of Little John, they have to climb the giant stairs & place a sign up on the board for their third temple game. It was Purple Parrots vs. Silver Snakes. Silver had a pretty big lead, than at the top step, before they were able to put the sign on the board, the sign fell to the bottom!!!!! They were just standing there, instead of climbing down to get it. While they were standing there, Purple Parrots came from behind & slammed the sign on the board for the win.

I don't remember that one, but speaking of the stairs, I never really liked those games

*whispers* You're my best friend here too, *whispers*

Me neither. I mean it's great teamwork, but it gets boring to watch. I liked the one in season 3 where you jumepd on the trampoline & threw the balls into your opponent's hole.
Title: The Walking Stick of Harriet Tubman
Post by: Mstrgmr on June 26, 2006, 11:49:17 AM
Now that is a good game, and the ones where you had to climb up a slippery slope and do something at the top like grabbing something
Title: The Walking Stick of Harriet Tubman
Post by: Olmec on June 26, 2006, 11:52:33 AM
Like in the Medal of Sir Edmund Hilary, where they had to turn off the faucets.

Post by: Mstrgmr on June 26, 2006, 11:53:57 AM
I'm not sure on the name, but once, they had to grab a doll at the top, and the kid took off it's head trying to grab it!  And in The Stolen Arm of Shiva, they had to attach arms to a board
Title: The Walking Stick of Harriet Tubman
Post by: Olmec on June 26, 2006, 12:01:56 PM
Oh yeah. I think it was the Helmet of Genghis Khan, both were in season 1, I'm not sure which episode, but I definately remember that aswell.

Yeah it was season one, and they were warriors, so it definetely could've been Gengis Khan

Yup. Wow, I gotta add something to the Kirk Fogg-Ups

That "log-taking" is exactly what I did to complete my episode list, except I did not write the players' names down. The last episode I had to log was "The Mysterious Manuscript of Mary Shelley," although you "picked," so-to-speak, a good last episode to watch. The temple run was bizarre!

What seems odd, yet interesting to me... well, it'll take a bit of set-up...

1. Nick GaS used to have Pumping GaS sections in the morning and at night; each showed the same episode for the day.
2. They also had two other episodes shown during the remainder of the day that were different than the Pumping GaS ones.
3. Whether it was coincidence or whether it was planned, I don't know, but they showed The Manuscript episode three times out of the four Legends slots one of the days soon after I put episode #119 on my site. I didn't recall that three of the same episode a day had ever been done before.

I have a suspicion that the operators of Nick GaS specifically chose that episode to air because it was the last to be added to my episode list.

I'll never know, though.

And a pretty unrelated note: Did anybody notice, during the 100th anniversary of flight a year or two ago, GaS showed "The Broken Wing of Icarus?" I love seeing that creativity. :D

I remember Pumping GaS, specifically watching "The Golden Stallion of Ali Baba" with my neighbor at 1 in the morning when he slept over. 3 times out of the 4?! Bizzare! Wow, I really want to see the Walking Stick of Harriet Tubman!

How about this... I'll post a special request for it on my website, and see if GaS catches on and anything happens.

Please do. It's just like to the point where I don't want to watch all 119 episodes over & over & just see the 120th, than I'll watch any of them.

I love that episode! I was really impressed too, the kid wasn't even that fast (@ least IMO) and he still escaped the temple with quite a lot of time left. :)

Well, The Walking stick episode I DO have but, wont upload it. The run is one of my favorites. Hey just a tip for you guys. If you have original Nickelodeon airings of legends episodes, you should set up a tape trade with some people on the trading circut. Right now they are hott! (well idk but I always like seeing nostalgia versions) :)

NOTE: Check out the signature. VERY FEW people can have the little line I added in my signature tehe

yup same as Jon I have the episode on my computer which I recorded on Decemeber 30, 2005 meaning that the clock is covered by the logo. And unless somebody has a Double Dare or something they could trade me I'm not giving it up!

It was on today. :P

Also, something I don't remember from watching this episode before was thatthe forest-shrine passage was already opened when Chris entered the forest via the swamp.... He also never found the magnet panel for the key.... weird...

HOLY SNOT IT'S ON!!!!!

That's so funny that it was 2.5 days later (the poll about Nick GaS showing all 120 episodes). Yeah, I'm a camp consulor now & I just came back & I saw Ryann & Blue Barracuda girl in the net game with key locks & I was like "is this the one?!". Than I tried to catch Ryann's, name tag, it looked like "Shannon", than I got a better view & it said "Ryann" & I ran around the house so happy.

Yeah, that worked out pretty well this time, didn't it? I don't know if I'll take any more requests, though. I imagine the Nick GaS people don't want to be spoonfed.

This was weird. I totally remember Ryann's obsession with cruises, Chris & aeroflysimulator, & the whole 4 second win in the final Temple Game. I remember tidbits of episodes but can't piece them together.

The Temple Guard that came out in The Crypt looked like he whispered something to Ryann, probably something like I'm sorry

Also, the Forest/Shrine door was open before Chris was in there, but he still took ages to get in! Kinda like a Tokugawa Ieyasu. Weird...
